1 - How Our Lives Have Changed
**I choose to keep my photo ops to myself but here's a pic of me talking to Richard :D**
"Sam Winchester I swear to god if you don't leave the dorm and get your lazy ass out here."
Sam just groaned into the phone speaker from where he was lying lazily in bed. It was a Sunday morning, and he'd had plans to meet up with Dean at some point that day.
"Dude are you seriously still in bed?"
"Dean I was up until two a.m trying to finish that assignment. Let me sleep. It's only—"
"It's noon. That's ten hours. Get your useless ass up."
Sam just rolled his eyes, before lazily rolling over so he could flop out of the side of the bed and sit on the floor. It was his most effective way of actually getting out of the bed.
"Took you long enough," Sam's roommate Kevin said from where he was sitting on his bed with his laptop open.
"Shuddup," Sam replied, standing up. "Okay Dean, I'll see you in twenty minutes."
"About time," Dean muttered over the phone and then hung up.
Sam just sighed before stretching, trying to actually wake up.
Sam, now 19 years old, was in his first year at college. After considering law as a subject, he'd finally decided against it. And because the author has always liked the idea of Sam being an artist, Sam picked up art. Now he went to a college that had an entire section dedicated to the arts. He still shared dorm rooms with students from the other sections of the college though, like Kevin being a science nerd.
Sam walked to his closet to find clothes, and barely glanced at the photos hung up on the door. They were from a long time ago, and Sam never lost hope that maybe he'd find those memories again. But he couldn't do anything about it as a high school student, and he couldn't do anything about it as a college student either.
Eventually Sam got out of the dorm to where Dean was waiting out the front of the dorms with the Impala.
"About damn time," Dean said from where he was leaning on there.
"Oh shut up Dean," Sam said.
"Remember the days when you wouldn't talk back?" Dean joked and Sam just rolled his eyes. Because that was something they joked about now. Because Sam wasn't even remotely quiet anymore.
In fact Sam wasn't recognisable. Like, at all. The massive growth spurt and growing his hair out a bit longer had made him look a lot different from his summer self.
The two of them went back to Dean's place. Dean had a small apartment somewhere. He could probably settle down and get a house, but he always said he didn't want to.
Dean, 23 years old, had just gotten out of college. He'd worked for Bobby, a family friend of theirs, for his college years and was now close to taking over the business. It was a car workshop, they did repairs, improvements, and Dean was pretty damn good at what he did.
They walked from the Impala to inside the building quickly, trying not to be out in the cold weather for too long.
"It's times like these I miss summer," Dean said as they got inside and he immediately turned the heater on.
"Oh you always missed the summer," Sam muttered.
Dean glared over at him. "So did you."
"Did I?"
"Yes. You were just too much of a teen to do anything."
"You could yet you didn't find them."
"I tried Sammy you know I did."
"You promised Castiel. What ever happened to that?"
Dean was glaring at Sam, his jaw doing that thing it does. This happened occasionally. Someone would mention the camp and it would only result in argument.
"Well technically you broke your promise to Gabriel," Dean argued back. "You went quiet again."
"And look at me now," Sam said. "I'm fine. I'm not quiet. I know how to be social. I'm not still hung up over a summer."
"I'm not—I don't—shut up."
"You miss Castiel, you can't deny that," Sam said, walking into the kitchen to find food.
"Shut up!"
Sam didn't say anything, letting Dean win as the tone of mild annoyance turned to one of anger. As he walked back into the living room with random food that he'd discovered, he glanced at the photo Dean kept on the wall. One of the ones from the camp, when he and Cas had kissed in front of the bonfire. Sam ignored it and looked back to Dean.
"Come on, let's talk about something happier," Sam said, and Dean agreed.
~~
"Aren't family reunions just the best?"
"No. They are not. Why would they ever be?"
"Wow cheer up Cassie."
Cas glared over at Gabe who was smirking from behind a lollipop. They were visiting Chuck Shurley, their adoptive dad. And several of their cousins were there too.
"Oh aren't you two just so social," Lucifer said, walking over to them. "Turning into Sam?" Cas glared at Lucifer as Gabe completely shook off the mention. Luci sighed and looked up as his fiancé walked over.
"Luce come on, don't do that," Michael said, sitting beside Luci in the same chair, Luci automatically putting an arm around him. Lucifer always tried to do that, get some sort of rise out of Cas and Gabe about Dean and Sam. But Cas never would say anything and Gabe would ignore it completely. That was Gabe's way of dealing with it. In the past he'd found distractions.
Since he got back from the camp, his usually friendly and playful pranks had taken a dark turn. People got injured and the Trickster's reputation grew to be something people feared. All because Gabe wanted something to block out the pain of losing Sam.
But nevertheless, Gabe had remembered his promise to Sam. To do something with his life. So like he'd said, he pursued music, because musician Gabe is amazing and no one can tell me otherwise.
He went to a college, this great place with a section dedicated to arts, since music counted as an art. Cas went to the same college, on the other side, studying psychology. After seeing a therapist for just over a year, he'd stopped his obsession with the camp and continued on with his life. Gabe was 22 now, and Cas 21.
So all in all, only Michael and Lucifer still tried to get them together.
"What have I told you about mentioning summer?" Michael said quietly to Luce so the other two couldn't hear them.
"But Mikey, shiiipppssssss."
"I know, but that was five years ago."
"They were adorable."
"You don't even know where the Winchester's are."
Luci pouted. "We need to find them so we can get married." Michael smiled sadly.
"I'm starting to think that won't happen. Finding them I mean."
"But we said we'd invite them to the wedding."
Michael sighed. "What a mess that has made for us."
"You guys could just get married," Gabe said. "I don't think they'd care. I mean, did they even try to find us?"
"We moved," Cas said simply. "They wouldn't have been able to."
Gabe just sighed and went back to looking at his phone.
Eventually the four of them went back to talking with the rest of their family, the short conversation about the camp forgotten.
~~(Okay just had to give an idea of where everyone was. Now on to the fun stuff)~~
Monday
Gabe woke up in his dorm room, Cas already being awake. They'd somehow managed to end up as roommates. Cas didn't really complain anymore since he had no reason to be in another room.
It was just like any other day. Any other average day in college. At least, that's how it started.
"Gabriel," Cas said from where he was sitting at the desk reading a textbook. "Look at the time."
Gabe looked over at his clock, and then shot up. "Shit I'm late for class."
"That's nothing new," Cas said, without looking up, turning a page.
Gabe shrugged and then ran about to get all his stuff ready. "You couldn'ta woken me Cassie?"
"Nah," Cas said. "You have an alarm for that."
"I hate my alarm."
"Well you obviously need it."
Gabe just glared at the back of Cas's head before walking out of the door. He got out of the building and then ran across campus to the art building. It was a pretty cool place, about seven stories high with a bunch of different sections.
Gabe ran through the front doors of the building. And a few moments later found himself lying on the floor.
"Hey watch where you're going," some guy snapped at Gabe. Gabe had run into him, knocking them both to the ground.
"Well I'm sorry I'm late," Gabe sassed back. "Watch where you're standing jerk." The guy stopped for a second on the last word, a strange expression crossing his face. Gabe just gathered his stuff up and stood up, looking at the guy.
"Um..." the guy said, any anger gone from his expression. He was staring at Gabe.
"You gonna sit there all day kiddo, or are you gonna stand up?" Gabe asked, still kind of glaring at the guy. The guy hurriedly stood up, and then looked down at Gabe. Because god was he tall. Long hair, and these kind of hazel green coloured eyes.
The guy didn't say anything, just kind of stared at Gabriel.
"The hells your problem?" Gabe said rudely.
"I..." the guy said, trailing off. He reached into his pocket for something and held it out to Gabe. Gabe glanced at it, surprised to see a lollipop there. His favourite flavour too. He looked at it skeptically before taking it.
"You're weird but be lucky I like sugar," Gabe said, before turning and walking off. "Later tall guy."
The guy didn't move, but Gabe didn't pay much attention. He had to admit though, the guy was hot.
He also realized later that he'd used the word jerk. Which was a habit he'd picked up from Sam.
But now, let's go back a few minutes. To 'the guys' perspective.
Sam was walking out of the art building, having just gone to talk to one of his teachers and not having any classes for a few hours. Well, he was trying to walk out of the building when some short idjit smashed into him, knocking them both over.
"Hey watch where you're going," Sam snapped at the short guy, gathering his stuff.
"Well I'm sorry I'm late," the guy sassed back and Sam froze. That voice... "Watch where you're standing jerk." Sam's head snapped up to get a better look at the guy. Golden hair and golden eyes. The familiar voice and use of the word jerk.
"Uh..." Sam said, unable to get this idea through his head. Because there was no way it could be Gabriel. It had to be a lookalike. It wasn't like it hadn't happened before.
"You gonna sit there all day kiddo, or are you gonna stand up?" the short guy said, now standing up and glaring at Sam. Sam stood up to his full height quickly, looking down at the Gabriel lookalike. He looked so familiar it hurt.
"The hells your problem?" the lookalike snapped.
"I..." Sam said, and then had an idea. Something he'd never stopped doing was having a lollipop with him. Gabriel's favourite. Just in case they ever did meet again. Sam reached into his pocket and pulled it out, holding it out to the guy who couldn't be Gabe.
Sam noticed the flicker of surprise go over the guys face.
"You're weird but be lucky I like sugar," the guy said as he took it, and then turned to walk away. "Later tall guy."
Sam was just frozen. Because a lookalike who liked sugar too. That was too much. This couldn't be...
After five years did he literally just run into Gabriel Novak?

Okay so first part of the sequel. Woo :D How are yall?
So, this book may be a bit different from the first, in terms of having a bit more seriousness, and hey they're all of age now, you know what that means...I mean what. But yeah, the seriousness just in terms of an actual storyline, it's still gonna be very fourth wall breaky and fun :D
I have exam week next week. One exam per day and then the rest of the day to 'study'. Pft who's actually going to study, I'm gonna write.
Oh and yes I met Misha Collins. I went on a full rant already, it took a few thousand words...I also had a full convo with Rich Speight Jr...safe to say that was the best day of my life.
*Gives everyone lots and lots of pie*
