Derek Valentino, 23 years old, is a successful and handsome billionaire. He is the CEO of Valentino Corp. He took over the business from his father a few years ago.

Valentino Corp. invests in other businesses and services as well as helping businesses start off. Valentino Corp. helps companies get a foothold into the business world.

Derek has done an outstanding job taking over as CEO ever since his father decided it was time to step down. He runs the business in a well organized manner. He has made the business much more successful.

As a CEO, Derek is loved and praised by all of his employees. His business partners, associates, and acquaintances speak highly of him.

Derek has made himself very successful and has everything he could ever want or ask for. Well, that is what everyone else believes. Deep down, he is unhappy and miserable with the life he is living.

Yeah, he is rich bullionaire and a famous CEO. He gets invited to many events. He owns sports cars and takes vacations anytime he wants. He has all the girls falling for him as well as some men. But he does not care about any of that.

Derek is a hopeless romantic and wants to fall in love. He wants that cheesy and cliche romance you see on tv or read about in books. Derek wants someone to love and someone to be loved by. All he wants for Christmas this year is a man of his own dreams.

Jace

Jace Winters, 22 years old, is a shy, fierce, and lonely individual. A few years ago, he lost his family in a car accident. He could never get over what happened and became closed off from people. Eventually, Jace cut everyone out of his life. He decided he wanted to live a quiet and uneventful life.

However, the universe seemed to have other plans for him.

Jace walks into work right on time, but something was not right. All of Jace's things are packed away in a box sitting at his office desk.

Jace walks into his office and sets down his bag. As he is about to take off his coat his boss walks in.

"Hi Jace," he says in a sympathetic tone.

"Mr. Jones, good morning. Why are my things in a box?" Jace replies in a confused voice.

Mr. Jones sighs. "I'm sorry kid, but we have to let you go. You are a great employee, but due to budget cuts-"

"Seriously?" Jace interupts. "I am a hard worker, never late to work, and you said it yourself that I am one of your best employees!"

"Jace, I am very sorry, but it is what it is. We couldn't afford to keep all the employees we have due to budget cuts. You are only an assistant and secretary. There are more qualified people here that we can't afford to loose. Maybe if you had finished college then-" Jace errupts with laughter causing Mr. Jones to stop speaking.

"Finish college?! Are you really bringing that up? I can't believe you even went there. Especially in my situation!" Jace says angrily.

"I am sorry, but it is the truth. I understand that you need this job and what you went through," Mr. Jones apologises.

Jace glares at Mr. Jones and angrily says "No! None of you understand what I went through! I lost my entire family in that car crash! I had to drop out of college because I couldn't afford to pay for it on top of the funeral expenses."

Tears are running down Jace's cheeks. "I lost my family. So yeah, don't tell me you understand when you clearly don't. Your family is still alive and well off. As for me, I'm now jobless! I needed this job. Thanks a lot and have a good day! Clearly I won't so you might as well," Jace says bitterly.

Jace grabs his bag and box of things and leaves a speechless Mr. Jones alone in the office. Jace walks out of the building and does not look back once. He is done with that place.

Jace wipes his eyes and then gets on the next available bus. He heads home to contemplate on what to do.
