"Ev!" Troy whined, rolling right onto his girlfriend and practically crushing her.
"Troy!" Evelyn mimicked his desperate tone. Her hands slightly pushed him off of her so that she could breathe and not have any broken ribs. This made Troy frown. He dropped his head into the crook of her neck. "What's up with you?" she giggled. Troy never acted like this.
"What do you mean?" Troy spoke into her skin, almost tickling her.
"You know, all clingy," she wrapped her arms around her boyfriend's torso. "I mean, I'm not complaining or anything. It's just not like you."
"I just missed you."
"But you see me like, everyday."
"That isn't enough," Troy lifted his he he looked Evelyn in the eye with a look that made her blush. "You're pretty," he spoke after staring at her for a while. He leaned in to steal a kiss.
Evelyn kept her eyes closed when Troy pulled away. She knew it was dumb and felt cliché, but god, she'd always feel sparks fly whenever her and Troy connected their lips, even if it was for the billionth time. "I missed you too," she said contently.
Troy chuckled. "I knew it."
Evelyn was going to answer when a strike of lightning almost made her jump out of her skin. "I forget it rains here."
Troy glanced over at the gloomy sky through the window before looking back at Evelyn. "You thinking what I'm thinking?"
"No" Evelyn shook her head with wide eyes. She knew Troy always had his spontaneous and weird ideas. He could be a bit of a bad influence, but Evelyn didn't care. She still very deeply cared about him nonetheless.
"Come on, Ev. Get up," he grabbed the smaller girls hands, and she had no choice but to let him drag her with him.
"Isn't this dangerous?" Evelyn cautiously asked the boy as he dragged her down her own front porch.
Troy shrugged. "We might catch a little bit of a cold, but it's nothing we can't handle."
"Ugh! I don't want to get sick!"
"Do you trust me?" Troy's hands pulled Evelyn closer to him.
"What does that have to do with anything?"
"Answer the question, Ev," Evelyn nodded, causing Troy to grin. "Come here," he pulled her even closer. Now her body was pressed up against his.
"I still don't see how this has anything to do with me trusting you," Evelyn shyly looked up into her boyfriend's sharp, blue eyes.
"Honestly, it doesn't. I just want you to be out here with me," Troy hugged her close to him. Their clothes were soaked now, and the feeling was uncomfortable, but neither of them. Evelyn knew she at least didn't. She was close to Troy, and that's all that mattered to her.
"If we get struck by lightning I'm gonna blame it all on you," she shrugged with a sarcastic eye roll. Troy reciprocated the action.
"I already told you, Ev. The worst we can get is a cold."
"I don't want to catch a cold!" evelyn childishly threw her head back in overdramatized agitation. Troy rolled his eyes at the immaturity.
"It's okay, I promise," Troy chuckled, planting an adoring kiss on Evelyn's cold and wet forehead. Evelyn wanted to act like she was angry with him, but how could she when he was kissing her like that?
Evelyn sighed. "What are we even doing out here?"
Troy smirked in response. "Dance with me?" he backed up and reached his hand out toward the girl. She smiled and placed her smaller hand in his.
"Do you even know how to dance?" she laughed as he pulled her back into his chest.
"Not at all, but that's okay," Troy smiled back at her. He really had no idea what he was doing, so all he really relied on was his ability to spin Evelyn around, horribly sing along to whatever remotely romantic song he could think of, and leave the occasional kiss on her nose that was soaked in raindrops.
"I can already feel myself getting sick!" Evelyn complained as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Stop being so dramatic, Ev," he playfully shook his head, grabbing onto the girl's waist.
"Oh, please. You're one to talk!"
"You don't know what you're talking about," Troy's head dropped so that his face was closer to hers.
"I think I know exactly what I'm talking about," she shrugged, slightly pulling back as Troy's lips got closer to hers.
"No, you don't," Troy whispered quickly, not giving Evelyn the chance to respond as he pressed his lips against hers. She smiled into the kiss, bringing her hands up to place them on his wet cheeks.
The two decided they'd now had enough of the cold rain. They shared a blanket in Evelyn's cozy bed, mostly warming each other up with each other's bodies.
"Troy?"
"Yeah?"
"You're the best boyfriend ever, you know that?"
"I had an idea," he joked. Evelyn rolled her eyes, but the lighthearted smile on her face told Troy that he'd left a positive effect on her. Her head fell against his shoulder. "You're the best girlfriend."
"Not as much as you are the best boyfriend," Evelyn remarked with raised eyebrows. She brought her hands up to play with the 'T' on her necklace. It'd become a habit now.
"We're not doing this. Just accept the loss, Evelyn," Evelyn's hands stopped playing with the necklace and she lifted her head.
"Absolutely not. Why don't you accept the loss?" she poked at him with accusing eyes.
"Because I'm right, plain and simple."
"True. Except... you're completely wrong," Evelyn innocently shrugged.
"Whatever, just kiss me."
