*Scene Changes To A Rooftop*

The teal troll, named Branch ran as fast as he could with his loaf of bread that he stole. He nearly dropped it as he lept off the edge, but managed to hold onto it. He could hear the angry crowd behind him. "Stop thief! Just you wait til we finally capture you!" Branch looked at the crowd, then back at his loaf of bread. "Geez! All this for a loaf of bread?? Sheesh don't these guards have anything better to do??" He jumped on a line of laundry and swung to the ground as the clothing flew everywhere. He hid under a blanket and tried to eat some of his bread, but he didn't get a chance because the guards spotted him.

"There he is!" The leader guard shouted. "You ain't gonna get away this time!" Branch ran and scoffed. "That's what you've said every other time you've tried catching me! Honestly, your losing your game now. It's like your not even trying."

"You four, go that you way! And you stay with me! We are gonna catch him this time!" They ran in the wrong direction. Branch smirked and wrapped a sheet over himself to sneak away. "Seriously doubt that, buddies." Three women spotted him. "Don't you think it's a little early to be getting into trouble today, Branch?"

Branch smirked and scoffed. "Trouble? No way! Your only in trouble if you get caught -" Two guards pulled him into a window. His smirk faded. "I'm in trouble!" His best friend, a monkey named Gary, appeared and threw fruit in the guards faces, causing them to let go of Branch. The teal troll high fived his companion. "Nice work Gary!" He turned to the guards with a smirk. "Wanna congratulate you boys! That's the closet you've ever came to catching me!"

He turned to Gary. "Let's get out of here!" They both lept out of the window and began running. Branch started singing. (Code for parts : 💙Branch💙, ⚔️Guards⚔️, 🎶Other Small Parts🎶)/

💙Gotta keep...one jump ahead of the breadline💙

💙One swing ahead of the sword💙

💙I steal only what I can't afford💙

💙And that's everything!💙

A guard tries to swing at Branch with a sword, but he dodges each swing and pulls the guards pants down. "C'mon! Your not even trying!" That remark angered the guard and he swung at Branch again, but destroyed a barrel of fish and Branch gets away. The guard, realizing his pants have falling, pulls out a fish to hide behind.

💙One jump ahead of the lawmen💙

💙That's all and that's no joke!💙

💙These guys don't appreciate I'm broke!💙

Him and Gary climbed a bunch of barrels and tossed one down to the other guards. The guards started to sing.

⚔️Street rat!⚔️

⚔️Scoundrel!⚔️

⚔️Take that!⚔️

One guard tried throwing a tomato to knock the teal troll down, but he escaped. Branch held up the the bread.

The guards clearly weren't having it and began shaking the barrels.

⚔️Rip him open, take it back guys!⚔️

Branch jumped out off the barrels, and grabbed Gary into a window.

💙I can take a hint, gotta face the facts💙

💙Your my only friend, Gary!💙

He became surrounded by pretty troll girls as they dance and sang.

🎶Oh it's sad that Branch has hit the bottom!🎶

🎶He's become a one-man rise in crime!🎶

Gary found some food and stuffed his face. A women appeared and sang.

🎶 I'd blame parents, except he hasn't got em!🎶

Branch slowly snuck away from the girls.

💙Gotta eat to live, gotta steal to eat!💙

A muscleman was in the crowd flexing and Branch and Gary hid behind him, mimicking his every move. That is, until they made a mistake and the guards spotted them.

💙One jump ahead of the hitman💙

💙One hit ahead of the flock!💙

💙I think I'll take a stroll around the block💙

The guards chase Branch through a flock of sheep, then hurdle a man off a nail board. The man lands hard on the nail board and a guard lands on to of him. Gary disguises himself so he can steal jewels, but he gets caught.

A women walks out her home and begins hugging Branch.

🎶Still I think he's rather tasty!🎶

Branch manages to escape and put his arms around the guard acting like their friends. "Don't you just love all these fun times we have with y'all chasing me?" The guards tried grabbing him again, but he once more escaped.

⚔️WRONG!!⚔️

The guards and Branch pounce into a fight. When it ends, the guards are confused to where Branch went. The teal troll and his monkey companion are hiding under barrels trying to sneak away. When he knew he was spotted, he took off running across a fire pit. The guards did the same, but the fire was too hot, so they clumsily ran across. Branch and Gary ran passed a sword swallower and Gary grabbed the sword out of the swallor's mouth and bravely held it out at the guards. Some of the guards actually retreated in fear as the monkey swung the sword around. "He's got a sword!"

One of the guards pointed at the monkey in horror. "You dummy! We've ALL got swords!" The leader pulled his sword out and the other Guards followed. Gary smiled nervously and put his sword down. Then he took off after Branch. Both of them become surrounded by guards coming left and right. Branch quickly looks around for an escape and takes the only one he sees - a rope being lifted to the sky by a preformer. All the guards ran into each other after he climbs the rope. Branch starts to run up some stairs.

Branch runs into another group of guards, grabs Gary, and leaps inside a room. He grabs a carpet and smiles at the guards.

💙Here goes, better throw my hand in💙

💙Wish me happy landing!💙

💙All I gotta do is jump!💙

He jumped out the window on the carpet and looked behind him, smirking as he saw the guards fall into fertilizer. The teal troll used the carpet as a parachute and made a safe landing, away from everyone. He high fived Gary. "And now, my friend, we feast!" He split the bread and gave half to his monkey friend. Gary happily takes it and begins to eat, but Branch's ocean blue eyes lead him to a little girl and her brother, who are searching for food of their own. The girl sees him and ducks behind a trash can with her brother.

Branch looks at his bread, then at Gary, then the two hungry children. Deciding they need it more than he does, he gets up and approaches them, holding out the bread. "Here." He says with a small smile as he holds it out to them. "Go on. You can have it." The little girl timidly takes the bread and holds it out to her brother, so they can share. Both children happily start to eat and Branch walks away.

Gary glares at Branch for giving away the bread they worked so hard to get, but he looks at the children. He turns to continue eating, but he begins to feel guilty. With an annoyed look, he walks over the children and holds out his bread to them. The girl takes the bread and gently pets him on the head. He gently but quickly brushed her hands away and ran to Branch and hopped on his shoulder to take a look at all the commotion.

A parade was happening and many already knew why - their was yet another suitor for the Princess. The Prince, named Prince Achmed, was on his horse riding through the village the Royal Palace. Two men were having a conversation in front of him. "Another suitor for the Princess." They rolled their eyes. Branch tries to get a better look, but gets startled when he sees the two children he helped run out into the street. Startled, the Prince's horse rears back and the Prince, with an angry look on his face, gets a whip and tries to attack the children. "Out of my way, dumb children!" When the whip comes closer to the terrified children, Branch steps in front of them and grabs the whip. "Hey! Watch it!"

"I don't take orders from street rats!" The Prince kicked Branch in a mud puddle. The crowd started to laugh. "You are just a street rat! You steal for a living and your only friend is a monkey for crying out loud!" Prince Achmed walked into the palace gates as they slammed shut. The crowd disbanded and Branch got up, looked angrily at the palace gates. Then he sighed and turned away. "C'mon Gary. Let's go home." Gary sadly followed his friend and they climbed through some old buildings to their home.

Gary climbed into his bed and Branch tucked him in for the night. He looked outside.

💙Would they see a poor boy?💙

He saw the beautiful palace and looked at it hopeful.

He sighed as he stared at the palace longer. "Someday Gary. Our lives are gonna change. We'll be rich, live in a palace, and the only problem we'll have is knowing where to put all our treasure." He leaned against a wall and slowly fell asleep.

*At The Palace*

King Peppy anxiously waited to see if his daughter, Poppy, had chosen Achmed for her suitor. He got his answer when he saw Achmed storming out with a hole in his shirt. "I have never been so insulted! I'm outta here! Good luck marrying her off!"

The king ran his hand over his face. "Oh Poppy." He ran to the courtyard to find his daughter. Gigi jumped in front of him, growling with a piece of the Prince's shirt in her mouth. He jumped back and glared at Gigi. "So that's why Achmed left so early!"

Poppy laughed lightly. "Oh c'mon Dad. Have a little humor. Gigi was only playing with him. Right Gigi?" Her fox walked over to her and she petted her. "You were just playing with that overly dressed, narcissistic Prince, weren't you?" She giggled as she continued to stroke Gigi. Her smile faded as she looked up and saw her father. King Peppy's glare softened as he begin talking. "Poppy please. You can't keep rejecting every suitor that comes here."

"I don't reject every suitor." Poppy scoffed. Her father gave her the look. She sighed. "Okay fine. So I've rejected a few, but that's because they are all self absorbed! They think if they marry me, I'll get forced to all the work and all they will have to do is boss me around! News flash! I'm not like that! I'm pretty sure all of them understand that now." She smirked satisfied. She stopped when she saw the disapproving glare of her father, though. "Poppy I don't think you understand this. The law says you -"

"Must be married to a prince." Poppy rolled her eyes as the two of them walked to an outdoor bird cage. "By your next birthday." Peppy finished. "The law is wrong." Poppy said as she opened the cage and gently took out a small bird to pet. "You've only got three more days!" Peppy said frantically.

"Dad please just give me a break. You know I hate being forced into this. I don't want to marry because some law says I have to. I want to marry for love." Poppy gently petted the head of the little bird. Peppy sighed. "Poppy it's not just this law." His daughter hands him the bird and he puts it back in the cage. "I'm not gonna be around forever. I just want to make sure your taken care of."

"Can you please try to understand?" His daughter asked him. "I've never done anything on my own!" She put her hand in the water and began petting the fish gently. "I've never had any real friends." Gigi looks up and glares. "Except you Gigi." Poppy immediately corrected. Satisfied, the fox lays back down. "I haven't even been outside the palace walls. How am I supposed to rule a kingdom if I don't even know their problems?? Their could be people starving right now and I wouldn't know because you never let me leave!"

"But Poppy, your a Princess." King Peppy insisted. His daughter got frustrated. "Then maybe I don't wanna be a Princess anymore!" She splashed the water angrily and turned away. King Peppy couldn't take it anymore. "Gigi don't you ever have any daughters!" He told the confused fox as he stormed out.

Poppy sighed and walked to the bird cage after her father left. She opened the door and watched as the birds flew off into the freedom - something she longed to have.

"Hey Poppy quick question." Her assistant, Ocean walked outside. "Are you sure I have to feed Gigi? She clearly hates me!" Gigi looked up and smirked mischievously at the light blue troll. He glared at her. "Don't even think about it!" He stopped when Gigi growled at him. "Ugh fine." He tossed a piece of food to her from a safe distance. Poppy sighed heavily as she thought about her wish to be free.

"Let me guess. Another suitor?" Ocean asked with his call knowing tone. "Yep." The Princess answered. "This is getting on my last nerves. Dad knows that I don't like this one bit, but he obviously only cares about that stupid law!"

"Yikes. I wish I could help, but as a royal assistant I don't have much power."

"Yeah I know. It's too bad someone can't just get rid of that stupid, outdated law." Poppy sighed. "Is there anything you'd like that I can do?" Ocean asked her. "No thanks. I'm not in the mood for anything." She answered.

*King Peppy's Chamber*

The king angrily stormed into his chamber and started talking to himself. "I don't where she gets this from! Her mother was never this picky!" A shadow fell over him and he looked up startled to see Creek, his most trusted advisor. "Ah Creek. My most trusted advisor. I am in desperate need of your wisdom."

"Well my life is to serve you, your highness." Creek bowed. "It's the suitor thing for Poppy. She refuses to choose a husband. I'm honestly about to lose my mind!"

"Awk! Lose my mind!" Phoenix mimicked. "Oh. Haha. Here have a cracker, pretty Polly." The king gave the parrot a cracker, which he happily gobbled down. He enjoys the crackers a lot. "Oh you highness certainly has a way with dumb animals." Phoenix glared at him. The parrot hated it when Creek insulted him like that. Creek didn't even seem to care. "Now then. Perhaps I can find a solution to this problem. For a price of course." He smirked evilly. "Well what kind of price?" King Peppy asked him. "Oh just a certain, ring." His advisor eyed his wedding ring. "My wedding ring? But it's all I have left from Ruby (his deceased wife)."

"It's necessary to find the Princess a husband." Creek insisted. He turned his cobra staff to look Peppy in the eyes. "Don't worry. Everything will be fine."

"Everything...will be...fine." Peppy repeated with a hypnotized loom in his eyes. "The ring, your highness?" Creek asked and Peppy gave him the ring. "Here Creek. Whatever you need will be fine." The sorcerer smirked satisfied and the cobra on the staff's eyes went back to normal, but the king remained hypnotized. "Oh you are most gracious, my king." Creek pushed Peppy towards the door. "Now, run along and play with your little toys."

"Yes...that would be...pretty good." A still hypnotized King Peppy left the room. 

Creek goes to his hideout and as soon as they shut the door behind them, Phoenix began squawking. "Dude I'm telling you! You need to try those crackers!" The parrot licked his lips. "Will you stop obsessing over those crackers??" Creek shouted at him. The parrot rolled his eyes. "At least I don't waste my time doing senseless things! It's always about taking over the world with you!"

"Whatever." Creek said. "But we will take over Pop Village, then Trollstopia, then the whole world!" He laughed evilly as his parrot friend rolled his eyes. "Yeah yeah. Sure we will."

*With Poppy At Night*

The light pink troll covered herself with a blanket and snuck into the night. She was done with being forced to marry trolls that she doesn't like. Enough is enough! She tried climbing the palace walls, but was stopped by Gigi. Poppy smiled sadly at her. "I'm sorry Gigi. I just can't stay here no more. My life is my life and I'm not gonna some stupid law control me." Gigi looked at her with pleading eyes. "I'll miss you." The Princess hugged her friend.

Then she turned and started to climb the walls. Gigi used her head to give Poppy a nudge til she made it to the top. "Goodbye." Poppy called. Her loyal fox sadly rested her head on the ground.
