Elzer waved his hands and Ella's floating unconscious form slowly drifted towards him and he opened up his arms ready to take her when suddenly he felt an impact and he met the ground with an oversized wolf hovering above wasting not a second to try and chomp off his jugular vein.

Elzer dodged and kicked the wolf off of him and scrambled up to his feet. Jem also stood up quickly and once again launched an attack. He was so swift Elzer didn't manage to block him on time as Jem tackled him once again.

Jem this time didn't go for his neck, instead he targeted Elzer's arms and bit it hard he swore he felt his bone crack at the force of his bite.

Elzer winced when his bone snapped and sent Jem flying away when a strong invisible force hit him hard on his left rib.

I admit he's strong. He even broke my arm.

Elzer thought and clicked his tongue. He saw Ella's unmoving figure at his last location and made a desperate attempt to try and reach her but failed miserably when three over-sized, strong, large wolves pinned him down and growled loudly.

Elzer grimmaced as he regretted not injuring them enough so they can't move before he casted a glance towards Ella who was now guarded with three more wolves and Jem standing in front of them, watching him intently.

Jem carefully traipsed towards Elzer's subdued form and that's when Elzer executed his escape. He unleashed a bright light, enough to momentarily blind them all before he vanished.

*That coward!!* Jem roared angrily.

*Alpha! Ella! She's not breathing!!* Rin, who was guarding Ella together with Jenny and Levi, said through the link and instantly alarmed Jem.

Jem hurried to his mate's side and nudged her head with a worried whimper.

It was no use though. Ella's head just lolled to the side. It was true. There was no response from her and she wasn't really breathing.

*That fucking coward Elzer! What did he do to Ella?!!* Jem spat to no one in particular.

He gazed around the group of wolves that watched him and their Luna. He could see in their eyes the horror, worry, confusion and anger swirling in each of their orbs. He wasn't the only one who felt wrathful at the person responsible for Ella's condition.

He returned to his almost sleeping-like mate and whimpered. He must find a way to help her. He must if he wanted to continue living.

He walked towards one of the trees, shifted back then went back and picked Ella up as he entered their abode and placed her carefully over the couch.

"How can I save her?" He muttered, knowing full well of the presence of Ella's familiars, his sibling and his beta.

"Only the castor may undo the spell casted on the victim. Which means.." Len slowly spoke.

"Only Prince Elzer can free her from the spell." Rin finished for her twin.

Jem clicked his tongue. He didn't want to give Ella to that bastard but he can't just leave her like that- almost dead-like.

"Any else?" Jem asked again and was met with silence.

He didn't have to turn around and look at their faces because he knew well that in them, all he would see would be melancholy, sadness and helplessness.

"We could try the Norns though?" Zyll suddenly spoke up. This caught everyone's attention and turned to him. "Well, they're known to help everyone with problems that no one could do anything, right? Maybe they can help us save Ella."

"Norns?" Jem repeated the foreign word.

"They are the three goddesses- more like witches to us- of destiny. I'm positive they can help Ella one way or another." Zyll answered him.

"Are you out of your mind? We don't even know where the Norns are right now! And are you sure you want to hand over Ella's safety to those witches?!" Alex spat. He found it ludicrous to even consider those witches' help.

"Well we don't have a choice! We need every help we can think of if we don't want Elzer to have our Princess!" Zyll retorted back.

Certainly, he was right. Jem was ready to do just about anything to help Ella, just not return her to the man who abducted her and took her away from him.

"Where can I find them?" Jem asked.

"Jem! Think about this for a moment. Alex said that these Norns you'll be searching for are witches. We don't know what they'll do to Ella and what they'll demand for payment." Levi tried to talk to Jem's logical side. He can't trust Jem's decisions when it involved Ella because, heck, he panics and makes the most reckless decisions ever.

"Levi. I am more than willing to give those witches anything they want so long as they can save Ella."

"But what if they can't? What if they'll demand your life as exchange and they can't save her after all? What then? Elzer will surely take her away! And you won't be there to save and protect her! Think about it carefully! You always make reckless moves when it concerned the Luna!" Levi spoke with intense worry coating his words. Jem wasn't only his Alpha. He was his best friend, a brother and a family.

Jem paused and held his beta's shoulders, trying to reassure him that everything was going to be fine. He smiled and held out his fist.

"In times when Ella is involved that I make the rightful decisions compared to times when she isn't. I know this is the right thing to do, so I hope my trusty wingman helps me on this. What do you say, Beta?"

"I can't disobey my Alpha, can I?" Levi sighed before he returned the grin and connected both of their fists for a gentle fist bump. "Of course I'm in."

"Then I will come too and help you search for the Norns." Zyll raised his hand and stepped forward.

"Then who will protect Ella?" Rin chimed in and grabbed all of their attentions.

"Yes. We can't fend off that weird crazy dude that attacked us moments ago!" Jenny followed up.

"It's best if we relocate her." Alex suggested as he stared at his princess' sleeping profile.

"Where?" Len asked and turned to Alex.

"To the castle ruins. She'll be safest there." Alex answered and turned to Jem for his permission.

Jem contemplated on it. He wanted to be near her always but as things stand now, he can't take her with him on that current condition. He needs to keep her safe while being away from her. He needed somewhere safe he can leave her while he travels to look for the witches.

He turned to Alex. "Will she really be safe there?"

"Yes, but I'll need Zyll to help us create a barrier first." Alex informed him.

"Understood. Then we leave right after you finish creating the barrier." Jem said.

They all filed out of the house and instead of shifting to wolves, they went with their cars. Jem placed Ella on the passenger seat with Jenny and Rin on the back seat. While Levi, Alex, Len and Zyll rode Levi's car following closely behind.

Reaching their destination, they hurriedly started the ritual. They entered the dome-shaped hall with nothing but a lone table on the center and placed Ella's unconscious body there. Alex and the others circled her and proceeded to chant strange words Jem haven't heard before.

Jem, Levi and Jenny stood on the sidelines as they watched static and thin streaks of light- almost identical to lightning- connect the four familiars of the Luna.

Jem did not understand anything but the shock and surprise that crossed each of the faces of the four told him something went wrong when they suddenly stopped chanting followed with a loud pop.

"What happened?" He asked when they remained silent, just staring at each other.

"I.. I don't know." Alex managed to mutter.

"What do you mean with you don't know? Is it done? Have you casted a barrier already? Is she safe now?" Jem bombarded the stunned boy with questions.

They remained silent though. Jem stared at each of their baffled expressions and felt insanity slowly creep inside him before he grabbed Zyll by the collar, demanding an answer.

"Answer me! Goddamit!" he growled, letting his Alpha power ride on it and force the answer out of them.

"We don't know. Something.. There was something else that canceled our spell." Zyll told him.

"What the fuck is that something?!"

"We already told you we don't know!" Alex exclaimed and grabbed hold of Jem's arms and tried to pry it away when Jem turned to him with a glare, his orbs flashing golden.

"Then do it again!" He commanded, his Alpha voice still in effect before he harshly let go of Zyll's collar.

The four familiars once again tried to re-do the ritual of casting a barrier but the same thing happened again.

"Wha-What's happening?" Rin huffed meekly.

"Something is not allowing us to cast a barrier." Len followed up.

"What the heck? And you told me she is safest here! This is a waste of time. I'm taking her with--"

"Stop right there, beast." An echo-ish feminine voice suddenly filled the dome that halted everyone from making a single move.

"Please don't move her." Another one, much sweeter than the first one, said.

"Such incompetent familiars." a squeaky one followed up.

Jem looked at each of the shocked faces of the familiars before a blinding burst of light flooded the dome. As the light died down, just seconds after, three females stood beside Ella's figure as they stared at her.

The one with golden blonde hair reached out and carressed Ella's hair and Jem stomped to keep them away from her but wasn't able to when the woman with silver hair looked straight at him and he suddenly stopped moving.

"Really. I must say this child got tastes to have a mate as gorgeous as you." She said seductively.

"Stop that Urd! We're here to help this woman not seduce men." the woman with jet black hair, who owned the squeaky voice, said before she turned to the familiars. "What is with you and you can't figure out the princess was unconsciously canceling out everything you did?"

"What?!" they exclaimed altogether that made the woman with black hair sigh.

"She's unconscious, yes, but because of this her body unconsciously activated her power, possibly to protect it from harm." she informed.

"We need to help this girl." the woman with golden hair whispered sweetly. "Skuld, Urd, we need to do this."

"But Verdandi.. What about our pact to stay out of these crazy Vanirs and Aesirs?" Urd, the woman with silver hair, told her.

"But.. she's lost, scared and lonely. She's a good girl and was not a part of the war, Urd. She did not have anything to do with the millenia-lasting cycle of hatred between the two tribes." Verdandi pleaded.

"Urd, I think Verdandi's got a point. Eir did not have anything to do with all that's happening around her." Skuld, the woman with ebony locks, sided with Verdandi.

Urd sighed and turned back to Jem and the others.

"Fine.. but we'll need everyone out of the premises right now. And by out, I mean outside the castle ruins." Urd said.

Jem stumbled a few steps as he felt the spell casted on him suddenly wear off and wanted to defy them if not for the pleading kind look on Verdandi's face.

"If you want us to save your Mate, haul your ass out of here." Skuld told him with a glare.

Jem nodded and turned to each of his companions and gestured for them to leave. They filed out with Jem casting the three witches a last glance as they stared at Ella before he turned to walk away.

Oh God. Please help them bring Ella back to us.
