"Let me down! Let me down I say!!" Ella flailed around as she kept hitting Jem's broad back while she rode his shoulders.

"Won't you stop doing that? No matter how many times you tell me that, I'll just always answer you NO!" Jem stubbornly retorted back.

"Let me go! You will pay for abducting me!!" Ella retaliated with the same stubborness as Jem.

"What?! I am not abducting you! I'm taking you home!!" Jem spat

"This is no longer my home!" Ella answered back.

Jem kicked the door to their room open and set Ella down on the bed. Ella was about to run for the door when she saw Jem's glowing golden eyes and she paused.

"THIS.IS.YOUR.HOME." he said rather deadly calm.

Ella froze on her place and felt the chills from the person everyone on the pack used to call a cold blooded demon. She had never heard, felt nor seen Jem as cold as that that it caught her off guard.

Jem spun on his heel as he clicked his tongue in irritation and walked out of the room, slamming the door shut.

Alex, Rin, Len, Zyll, Levi and Jenny just stood on the parlour and listened to their loud bickering. Levi and Jenny's faces fell because Jem returned to how he was before and the smile on Rin's face vanished when she slowly and lightly heard Ella's sobs.

Zyll growled and was about to go upstairs and give Jem a piece of his mind but Alex stopped him.

"Don't. You'll only worsen things." Alex whispered and he, too, silently listened to Ella's sobs.

Jem stomped down and holed up on his office, once again slamming the door as loud as he could to dull out the sobs ringing in his ears. But try as he may, when the door was shut, Ella's sobs loudly echoed in his head and the thought that he caused those tears stabbed him over and over again.

Just what did that fucking Elzer do to her? Why is she acting like this?

Jem thought as he gritted his teeth and slumped on his swivel chair. He pressed his temples to somehow halt the growing headache he was having.

"Aah. I wanna kill someone." Jem whispered to himself.

"She's gonna hate you more." He heard someone said and looked up to see Levi, wearing an unsure smirk, with a surprised expression. "You're so bothered by it you didn't notice me, huh?

"Of course I am bothered. The least that I want to do to her was to make her cry and now I went and made her. I wanna die." Jem murmured.

"You could always just go up there and comfort her instead, right? Don't let the night pass without you two patching things up." Levi said and went back out again, leaving Jem to the silence of his office with the only sound was Ella's sobs.

Jem couldn't take it anymore and he bolted upstairs. The others saw him walk briskly towards the stairs till he practically took three steps at a time to reach her faster. A smile appeared on each of their faces before they all went to their own businesses, knowing if it's them, they'd be able to patch things up.

Jem opened the door and Ella jolted before she looked towards Jem's way. Jem averted his eyes and looked down. He was definitely angry at himself for causing his mate to cry.

"I'm sorry." He told her. He did not bother to soften his voice or whisper the words because he did not care about his pride as an Alpha. He'd rather it be tarnished than to lose the love of his life.

Ella remained silent and turned her back at Jem. She steeled herself not to yield in to the sweet temptation of forgiving and returning to Jem. She did not want to be hurt again. She's afraid she'll have to suffer through those again if she ever let Jem back into her life again.

"Look. I understand if you won't talk to me right now but I just really want to tell you I'm sorry and.." Jem said and trailed off. He took in a deep breath before he sighed and watched Ella's trembling back. ".. Please stop crying."

"I will stop whenever I want to, so leave." Ella told him with as little emotion as she could show. She was afraid to give in.

"I won't till you stop crying." Jem once again retorted stubbornly. "Please.. It hurts so much knowing I am causing you pain. I beg you Ella.. Please forgive me if I ever did you wrong."

The sweetness and sincerity of his voice was getting to Ella and she knew she was starting to slowly lose her resolve but she secretly pinched herself to remind her not to give up. It was definitely hard, given that she still loved Jem and that he had done the first seal to a mate. Jem had marked Ella.

"Why.. Why did you 'mark' me?" Ella whispered.

Jem paused and sat at the edge of the bed, opposite of Ella and also faced his back on her.

"So it would stop the painful heat." Jem answered.

"How..?"

"How I was able to know?" Jem finished for her and Ella just nodded. "I felt it through the bond and I smelled you."

"Can this be.. undone?" Ella asked.

"OF COURSE NO!" Jem raised his voice and turned to Ella. He paused and remembered that tone scares Ella as he watched her tensed back. He cleared his throat and returned to his position before and whispered "No. It can't be undone. That is forever."

Ella jolted and felt the rush of pleasure reaching her soul that she shivered a bit. Her thoughts wandered back to the event where she thought she was gonna be grilled dead as she traced Jem's mark on her.

•Flashback•

*Ella!*

Jem? How..? Why..? What?

Ella thought and once again groaned while clutching her fists so hard. She rolled on her back and breathed heavily. She felt like she was on an oven set to the highest degree of heat.

*Ella.. I'm here sweetie.. It's fine. I'm gonna make the pain go away, okay? You have to trust me, you hear?*

Ella heard Jem and opened her eyes to see his wolf with the darkest shade of blue that it almost looked like black. She nodded in agreement, desperate to feel relief and make the unbearable heat go away.

Jem's presence was enough to lessen the pain but still the heat was still there. She wanted it to go away. She wanted Jem to make it go away without the barest hint of it being there even. She still wanted him.

Jem's wolf opened his muzzle wide and clamped down hard on the crook of her neck and she howled both in pleasure and pain. Jem's marking triggered Ella's shift and she rolled away before she shifted to her white wolf.

Ella's wolf slumped down, not feeling any strength on her whole body, but thankful the pain was slowly subsiding. She felt sparks when Jem's wolf rubbed his muzzle on the part he bit, breathing a sigh of relief and satisfaction before he cuddled with her.

*Mine.*

Oh how sweet it sounded to Ella to hear Jem saying those words, claiming her to be his and only his. There was no greater happiness for Ella that time but then again it was also her greatest pain. She did not want to share Jem to anyone else and she was scared she was becoming greedy.

Ella shifted back to normal seconds later and reeled in the moment of having Jem beside her but was soon disturbed when Jem suddenly picked her up and made her ride his back before he broke out in a sprint while tapping to Alex's link that they were returning home. That was how she was abducted back to her home.

•End of Flashback•

"You do know Elzer will come to retrieve me, right?" Ella muttered. Although her wolf was continuously scolding her to stop being so stubborn, her rational and logical half was still telling her that Jem will only hurt her.

"He won't and will not ever come near you. Not as long as I'm alive. Aesir or not, you are mine. You are my mate and that will never change." Jem spoke in a deadly calm voice and walked out. Ella felt mad at herself for being happy rather than mad at Jem's words. She was weird. Definitely weird.

I am sorry Elzer.. I'm sorry.

Ella thought as tears returned to her eyes, thinking how she was gonna break a pure heart that wanted nothing but her love, how she was gonna break a man so kind and loving.

I'm sorry.
