Oh my heart this is too much

Fun fact about me: I always cry at goodbyes. Always. No exceptions, someone says they're just going out to get milk and I'm already a sobbing mess on the floor

But this is extra sad because it's a goodbye and hello at the same time
And Fan has to go up to these children who he has been looking after for the past few years like they were his own, these children who he loved and cared for and protected and wanted to watch them grow, and he has to accept that he never actually got to know them, that this was his only opportunity to meet the real them, and he has to accept that this is most likely the last time he can see them too

He has to let go of them and the parental love he feels for them while simultaneously accept the fact that he didn't ever meet them before now, and now will never get the chance to know them or watch them grow or anything like that

Surely this has to be the saddest moment in the episode though, I mean I don't know if my heart will survive anything else bad/sad happening

Ok I really love this
Fan and Test Tube were such good parents to Baby Shimmer when they still were an egg, and I just love them acknowledging how much they did for them by changing red and green. Plus it's  adorable

Also just their reactions to this
They're such proud parents
This whole part is just so wholesome I love it
It would be such a shame if something were to happen to ruin this

Pain and heartbreak aside, I absolutely love that shot of the glass flying with Tacos reflection in it, it looks so cool

Also hey, I just realised that she's still got the cracks from last episode when the gem hit her, which is another cool use of cracks. I mean I did notice the cracks, I just didn't think about it until just now
There are probably a bunch of other cracks hidden throughout the episode that I haven't noticed
I'm gonna have to go back through the episode at some point and figure out how many there are

Also, Fan would have definitely seen Taco and Mic. He's almost looking directly at them
There is almost no way he wouldn't have seen them
So why didn't he tell Test Tube or Lightbulb when he woke up
I mean, if that happened to me, that would have been the first thing I did when I woke up, tell people what happened
But then again, maybe he was focusing on the shattered body of his friend that he has only just made up with, and didn't think to look in the direction of the death ray. But still, surely at some point he would have thought to look in the direction that the murder ray came from.
I guess maybe he didn't want to stare death in the face this time

And I'm also kinda torn because on the one hand I love seeing badass Taco, but on the other hand there is a time and a place, and this definitely wasn't it, they were friendly and having a nice happy wholesome time

I love you Taco but you shouldn't of done that please don't ever do that again unless someone is already attacking you or one of the other characters (who are good), and it's a life or death situation

I had such high hopes for you

I mean, I did kinda predict that something like this was gonna happen as soon as she said that promising not to be violent wasn't necessary, but I was hoping it was more gonna be like she was about to do something stupid like this, but then Mic stands in the way all like Taco stop, like she does here, except this would be before she fucking murders Test Tube, and it's enough to make her listen to reason and just be there like "o shit you right I'm doing a bad thing maybe I should stop oh god why did you have to infect me with morals, life was so much simpler when I could just murder whoever the fuck I please without consequences" and then the rest of the show is just Mic trying to teach Taco how to be a good person or something. I would have been happy with that. But instead she brings out the fucking murder ray and shows no mercy until Mic gets over her initial shock and stops her

On the other hand, at least Mic standing in the way of the gun was actually good enough to make her stop shooting. I mean, I have a horrible gut feeling that I thought up while typing that is "what if she only stopped because they're working together and she doesn't want to piss off and/or murder the person who's helping her, rather than because they're friends" but then again, I'm gonna ignore that because 1-it makes me sad, and 2-if she doesn't see them as friends, why did she look so genuinely sad when Mic said they weren't friends

So I'm just gonna put it out there
I think that when she didn't shoot, it was consciously because she didn't wanna piss off Mic more than necessary because they're still a team, but it was subconsciously because they're friends and she doesn't wanna hurt her friend, she just doesn't realise that she sees them as friends because she doesn't wanna admit it to herself

Also, (edit from months in the future after thinking about this), remember how I said it looked like she was hesitating before not promising not to be violent but in the end deciding not to promise just to keep her options open
We don't actually see her face before she shoots
But what if she felt like she didn't have a choice
What if the teleported right in the centre of the room, and the only reason why Fan and Tuby didn't see them was because of their little heart to heart, but Taco thought that they were gonna get caught (especially since Test Tube is being a lot more openly salty towards Mic than Knife ever was, so she would probably spill the beans first chance she gets), and she panicked thinking she had no other option than to attack
What if it's just second nature to Taco to attack when in emergencies, and she was slowly getting better, but in this situation she panicked and didn't know what else to do so she went back to her default state of "kill everything before it can backfire on you"

Of course I still don't condone this behaviour from her, and I'm still really mad she did this.
If Mic didn't leave her this episode, I would have 100% put her in timeout for this, it is not a good way to go about life Taco, please try to do better in the future, but with Mic leaving I guess you're being punished enough
(Or maybe she isn't being punished enough and I'm just soft. Probably that tbh. Oh well)
