Chapter 7
Virgil was uneasy and he couldn't focus on anything: his work; his friends or his books. He didn't like the feeling but somehow it felt familiar to him. He stood from his chair and began to pace, looking around for the smallest change. He searched the entire room for something strange. Nothing stood out and he decided to go downstairs and check there. He couldn't see anything and he couldn't pick out anything using his other senses. He went back upstairs and knocked on Patton's door, concerned for the emotional trait, if this nervous energy was affecting him as well it would be much more damaging and draining for someone as emotional as Patton. The jovial trait answered the door, a peppy smile on his face and a laugh in his throat, as always. Virgil smiled and told Patton about his nerves in the best way possible. The fatherly trait smiled wider "You're going back to normal! That's great!"
"Normal? No, Patton. This is an unhealthy amount of nerves, even Logan isn't usually like this. I'm concerned that Logan may be experiencing extreme stress and that I am beginning to feel the repercussions"
"Do not say his name, if you must refer to that bastard refer to him as Anxiety, he doesn't deserve to have that privilege"
"No, Patton. I will call him Logan because that is who he is. I don't care about what you think of the matter. His name is Logan." Virgil's energy burst. It wasn't scary or laced with rage. It had a nervousness behind it that didn't belong. "I will not stand around and do nothing, Patton. I can not do nothing. I must act. I will try to contact Logan, you will not stop me. If he does not reply by the end of the month, I am going in there and finding him. This time you can not persuade me Patton. He is doing something and it is affecting me first. I am- to quote the royal pain- bitterly jittery and not very glittery. I'm going to check on Roman then I will check on Thomas, you are not stopping me Patton and if I find either of them suffering from the same issue I will not hesitate to go and find Logan immediately." Virgil reeled off incredibly quickly and he left. He knocked on Roman's door and opened the door slowly.
"H-hey Virgil. What's wrong?" Roman stuttered the question, his back to the intellectual.
"I just had a couple of questions... regarding Logan."
"Okay then, shoot." Roman's hands were shaking.
"I know this is difficult to talk about but have you been feeling anxious for no reason as of late?" Roman swallowed audibly.
"No, I have not, why do you ask?"
"I am not quite sure I believe you, Roman." Virgil muttered quietly. Roman tensed up a little and he turned to something on his desk, unable to focus on anything properly.
"I suppose I am not feeling quite myself right now, I suppose it is simply nothing. Is there anything else I can help you with, Virgil?"
"Do you know how Thomas is faring as of right now?"
"I do not, if anyone does, it would be Patton or- or-"
"Logan." Virgil finished. The prince sighed and looked around the room.
"Exactly. And I know he tried to kill me and I know he screamed and passed out in court and I know that he was pretty much insane before his execution but I'm worried, Virgil. He was one of us and I don't mean this in a bad light but he did change with you. I'm afraid. What if I do something like this? I don't want to be with Void and Deceit. I'm afraid and I think sending him there was a mistake. You know what I mean?" The prince asked, turning to face Virgil. Virgil saw black eyeshadow under his eyes. It was really dark and deep despite being slightly blurred and streaked down his face because of tears. He stepped back a little before running out. Virgil rose up into the real world. Thomas was much worse than he expected, he definitely was not faring well.
