Alfredo Sauce
Sometimes your pasta needs something a little special.
1/2 Cup Butter
8 oz. Block of Cream Cheese
2 teaspoons garlic powder
2 Cups Milk (or heavy whipping cream)
6 oz. Grated Parmesan cheese.
(I just use the powdery Kirkland bottle of it)
Pepper + Salt
Stovetop:
Melt Butter and Cream Cheese together, stirring to combine and prevent burning.
Add milk, garlic powder, Parmesan Cheese. Salt and pepper to taste.
If you use heavy whipping cream it'll be thicker and richer.
Leave over medium heat for sauce to thicken.
A bit of flour or Corn starch can also be whisked in to thicken sauce.
Microwave:
Combine Cheeses, Milk, and butter. Heat about 30 seconds to 1 minute, depending on your microwave. Mix occasionally. Continue until cheeses are melted and mixture is warm.
Mix in garlic powder, salt and pepper to taste.
Flour or corn starch can be used to thicken.
Looking to make just a single bowl of pasta? 1/8 recipe is good for that.
1 Tablespoon butter
1 Oz. Cream cheese
1/4 cup milk
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 oz parmesan cheese (more if desired)
Salt and pepper to taste
