Chapter 13
~~Under Squad 11 mansion
The events had been unexpected. Everything was flowing according to her plan, until this. But it's alright since it had worked for the better. She was aware that the deities would be keeping a close eye on her. Still, they would have to be awake to do that. She was sure that those sleep obssessed fools would not have gone back to sleep after her release.
What really happened? The voice of Ragnarok suddenly sprang to life.
Instead of answering, Celeste remained silent. The part of her soul had already separated itself from Ragnarok. After that, she would only have to wait for the right time. She would make sure to be where the portal her soul was trapped within. That place was none other than the highest ground that was found in all of Lukedonia. She would have to endure her body shatter as well as her soul losing its shape in order to be reformed anew. During this process, the old part of her soul within the portal, would come to her and she would merge with her other half. But the merge could not be complete. It would be imperfect. She would need to consume someting powerful to complete the merger. Still, because her evolution would be lost, she would have lost so much of her power. But she could no longer take the risk.
That was what she had been expecting things to go.
She did not expected him to intervane. She knew that he had been sleeping because of the seal. The process she was going through must have somehow awakened him. He's still weak at the moment, but it was enough for him to act.
Celeste sighed tiredly. After everything that she has gone through, she just wanted to rest her body, but knowing Ragnarok, he won't keep his mouth shut. "He intervaned with the process and used his power to perfect the merger of my soul. He is also responsible for making me regress to this state. The blade I have now is only a small percentage of the power he is able to leak out of the seal when it was weakened."
That was certainly unexpected, Ragnarok stated echoing in Celeste's thoughts. Does this mean you are now complete?
"No." Shaking her head, Celeste continued. "I do not have you, but all the missing parts of my soul have been reformed. It is now complete. It will only take some time for my body to adjust. This form makes it easier because it is young. There is also a barrier that had been developed. Once my soul and my body adjusted to the changes, they will start to work towards perfection. When that happens, the barrier will cease to exist."
Well, at least you did not become weak, as you would have if he had not intervaned, Ragnarok paused for a minute, what is happening to your eyes?
"Before I was returned here, those things forcibly made my other eye disappear. I don't know how they did it, but the consequences were that I had to lose not just my eyes, but some of my powers. But because everything was born from my soul, I could manifest them again. I just did not have the power. At the moment, the darkness of my eyes, is just a veil covering my real ones while they are still being developed to their full potential."
How long will it take?
"A short time; possibly less than a weak." She did not have an accurate answer as to when the eyes would be ready to function again.
Do you think he did it out of generosity?
"No. He do not posses such a thing. It would be a disgrace to see me weak. We already agreed on that one. But still, he refused to speak to me before the seal strenghtened."
What really goes on between you two?
"He and I are one. We were once a single being. I was an omnipotent deity before he is separated from me. Countless millenia ago, when I was still young, and still had many flaws and emotions. I fell in love with this man. He was a bit younger than me, but I did not care. I loved him and so, I showed him my true powers. He was the first person to witness it as not even my grandmother saw it, but he was suspicious. My powers scared him, and he tried to seal it. But it resulted in him splitting me into two. My other half was too powerful, so he sealed him deep within my soul."
That was before your fall from grace.
Celeste nodded. "Everything is in motion now. No sooner than later, I will be complete."
Ragnarok did not respond as he disappeared from her mind after those words.
I am the one who is above all powers and no one else.
Celeste looked towards the ceiling of her lab. She sighed realizing all she would see was darkness. Despite this being a good thing, it bothered her so much. He is able to intervane on the things and do as he pleased. She had no problem with them, but it was her body and she was the one with the superior will. She was the original. She did not think that he would do anything to harm her. Despite her other half being so much darker, they were still the same person. The fact that she had been left vulnerable made her feel uneasy. She was once in charge of everything, but not anymore.
"Well, I should not complain," the blond said to herself, "I can move forward with everything. This only changes the direction that I will have to take. In the end, it will lead me to the same point. And it will be I who caused the change. Perhaps I am becoming obsessed with control issues."
Now, she would not have to worry about retrieving the small parts of her soul that was missing. Everything was inside her body. She now had all the materials, but her soul and body would have to adopt first for her to move on to the next step. Her eyes would manifest soon, and when they do so, she will be pleased. For now, given that she could not view the world in the way she wanted, she would have to remain rooted at this place. It was of no bother though, as she would soon get her bright vision back. Sacrifices were necessary for the greater good.
She had thought that her little show would not attract much attention, but it did. Alaric would have certainly gone to the Council to calm them down, but she knew better than that. Regardless who was put in there, they will always have the same attitude. It was like that building possessed those people to think and act as the previous ones. They were certainly not hoping to accept whatever Alaric would say to them. Those fools were only going to be pleased unless the words came out of her mouth. She would have to refrain herself if they speak nonsense. And if she kills them, it would not work good for her. Those things would send their guards to come rushing at her to restrain her. Surely by now, they must know that she was not going to die. No doubt, they would he busy planning something. But as long as she kept it low, those fools will only settle for keeping a close eye on her.
