Samantha's POV

     Hi, I'm princess Samantha from the Dragon Kingdom hidden in a forest, I'm sixteen and I'm next to take the throne. I'm the oldest from four sisters and one brother, how I survived all these years? I don't know. The castle seems like a battle filed with my siblings running around and breaking things. Honestly, I'm not one of those princesses from fairy tales I got read when I was a child, other princesses from school used to think I was weird since I didn't wear dresses, make-up, high heels or was into finding my "prince charming". Instead of dresses, I wore pants 'cause dresses, make-up, and high heels are Ewwww.  I like to stick with my jeans, shirts, and shoes so basically I don't look like a princess if it wasn't for my tiara. About finding my "prince charming" I don't want a relationship right now maybe later one I still have a lot to explore with Chedder. Chedder is my dragon she's orange with yellow spots, she's the fastest, strongest dragon in the kingdom, she's been trained by the royal dragon trainer. Which remains me of my other two best friends.

   James is my bodyguard he is very tall and has black hair, I can count on him to protect me and kill my enemies. I met James when he was a 7-year-old my father offered him to stay at the castle under a certain condition, which was he was going to be my bodyguard.  As James was trained here in the castle I notice that James was great with knives, I saw James train and I picked up a thing or two so people come at me! Though James is a great friend he will kill anyone in my way or his there once was this guy in the castle that was annoying James the next day no one found him so I wouldn't mess with James if I were you. My other friend is Mari she a blue-eyed brunette, she came not long ago she came and was surprisingly great with swords and was great at fighting. She said she came from another kingdom that was under attack, my dad let her stay and made her knight. Mari is kinda similar to James she can kill someone if wants to but she won't kill everyone she gets annoyed by, she might beat them up though. These two are great friends that I count on. 

  Today I woke up at I think 8 am? That's because of Mari, James and the maids that were knocking my door down. My royal teacher made me take a test today I probably failed but you know I tried. As I dragged my feet out of the "study" room I heard my teacher yell from inside "Don't forget to go and read pages 440 to 500 from the history of the Dragon kingdom!" As I just walked to the library where I was totally going to read that stupid history book.  In the corner of the library, I had this secret spot where I put all my manga and my comics. I sat in the corner and read all my worries off. After like 20 minutes, I heard a book fall by its self I thought it was strange then it followed up with a "How did you trip over a desk!?"  the voice was deep then followed by another voice "I don't know!" at that moment I knew who was there it was James and Mari. I guess they tried to scare me this was their 5th fail this week. 

"Come out you two I know you're there!", I yelled

"If Mari didn't trip over that desk maybe we could have succeeded!" James said while crossing his arms 

"sorry" Mari said under her breath "It was the desk's fault!" she yelled

I just rolled my eyes at them and kept on reading 

"hey, shouldn't you be studying the history of this kingdom?" Mari pointed out 

"umm hehe I got bored" 

James sighed "of course you would be reading manga "

"Hey! leave me alone I already know the whole story plus I can read it later!" I sat up 

"oh yeah Sam the king wants to see you in his office right now," Mari told me

"what did she do this time?" James asked Mari 

Mari shrugged "I don't know"

"Hey!" I pouted "I don't always get in trouble!"

Jame sand Mari exchanged glances and rolled their eyes "sure" 

"shut up" I got up "his office is sooooo far away!" I whined 

Mari rolled her eyes "You're a lazy princess"

I stuck my tongue out and walked out of the library 

"Hey wait for us!" Mari and James said walking after me

 I walked faster on purpose and we ended up running to my dad's office 

As Mari and James stayed outside and I walked inside. 

"you called me dad?" 

My dad was sitting in his chair looking down on some paper "yes take a seat Sam" he pointed at a chair.'

I sat down 

My dad finally looked up from those papers, "Sam how old are you now?"

"16 why?" I responded 

He looked at me, "Samatha, I think it's time for you to take the throne"

I was confused a lot was going on in my mind, "what?" 

"Sam you know since that war we had not long ago affected us that we had to disappear kingdoms don't know we're still here. Everything was doing fine until now we don't have enough food for all our people," he explained

It was true I was 10 around that time when the Air kingdom declared war on us which dragged in more kingdoms and at the end, we ended up moving away and we got removed from the map. Since that war, I got homed schooled. But it seems that now we're running out of resources.  And it doesn't help that everyone thinks we died.      

"so do you want me to go and search for food?" I asked my father 

He shook his head and looked serious, "Samatha I think it's time for you to find a prince and get married" 

I was shocked at the words that my dad just said. It must be a joke, right?
