[United Kingdom's POV]

After formally sitting in his assigned seat, the UK took a quick glance at his watch.

The meeting started at 7:30 AM. It was 6:45.

That may be too early for some people, but then again, the UK was not "some" people. He liked being on time. Being early was just a bonus. It gave him time to think— to sort out his thoughts.

With this time of the year around, the World Meeting was being hosted at Paris, France. The UN building in France had an amazing view, just short of the Eiffel Tower.

Each country was required to have some sort of UN building. Whether it be big or it be small, it barely mattered. As long as it could hold 200 personifications comfortably it worked.

(They still used the ones in Europe and Asia most of the time though.)

France's Meeting room was spacious, adorned with a high, dome-shaped ceiling and a circular room shape. Tall pillars hugged the walls, stretching up above everyone's head. The dome-ceiling was made of glass, letting in all the sunshine anyone could ever want.

On one side of the room, an elevated stage hosted three desks for the organizations to sit in. Facing the organizations were dozens of individual desks, with one five seater desk in front of all of them.

In fact, the seat the UK was currently sitting in was one of the five at the five seater desk. The unique desk had been reserved only for the Five Permanent Members of the UN— the UK, France, Russia, China, and America. It was an honor to sit there.

Bloody hell, the UK could remember the first days of the United Nations, when it was nowhere as organized as this. It had been rough, so to say. Most nations had been tired and worn out from the wars, seeking for world peace— seeking for rest. It took them a while, but after a couple of decades the UN was stabilized. UN would live on for years to come.

"Excuse me?" A familiar voice asked, coming at the UK from out of nowhere.

The UK jumped. He turned around, finding himself face to face with a country with three stripes.

Germany.

"Hello." Germany greeted calmly, pushing up his glasses. "May I speak with you?"

"Of course, Germany." The UK said, blushing a bit from his overreaction. Even after all these years he was still jumpy. Damn PTSD...

The UK was a quite surprised that Germany had already arrived (and he hadn't noticed), but then again, that was on the UK's end. He should already know Germany was also an early bird.

The UK cleared his throat, "What do you need?"

"I need your son." Germany replied. "Do you happen to know where he is? I haven't seen him in a while and he isn't responding to any of my emails."

The UK shook his head, pausing to think. "I'm sorry, Germany. I have not seen America in quite a while either."

Germany nodded solemnly, thanking the British personification before leaving to go back to his own desk. As Germany left though, his question got the UK thinking. When was the last time the UK saw America?

The UK would usually see America weekly, daily even, due to the close political relationship between their countries. The UK would find himself in the same economic, WHO, and NATO meetings with America. Sometimes they even had meetings where it was just the two of them, but they only talked business-wise and no personal discussion was spared.

But now that the UK thought about it, none of those meetings have been scheduled recently. WHO meetings haven't even been scheduled yet.

There were still World Meetings of course, but if you were looking for America, you would have no luck. America had been skipping the World Meetings recently.

The UK sighed, frowning. This definitely wasn't normal. Was there something going on?

Whether it was in the United States itself or in a foreign nation, it was always seemed to be America's problem. Maybe he was just dealing with something like that.

Was he worried? The UK knows he shouldn't be worried. America can handle himself more than all of them combined. He'll take care of the problem one way or another.

At least, that's what the UK thought.

[Mexico's POV]

Mexico sat down in his assigned seat, which just so happened to be in between the Northern American and Southern American countries. Canada being on his left and Argentina on his right.

Since the seats were based off of geography, America would probably be on his left instead, but he had a special seat up front with the other Founding Fathers.

"¡Hola, amigo!" A voice called from Mexico's right. Turning, the Mexican personification found himself face to face with Argentina.

"¿Cómo estás?" Argentina asked, smiling brightly. He was in a suit and tie, his suitcase laying on the ground next to him. Mexico was sure he would never find Argentina in a suit unless it was his wedding, but UN was strict with his rules. Especially his World Meeting rules.

"I'm doing my best." Mexico smiled back. "How about you?"

"I would say the same. Being a country is not easy."

"You could say that again."

Mexico and Argentina continued to make small talk, catching up with each other's personal lives. Countries were just now starting to fill in, bringing in noise and chatter with them. The meeting would start in a few minutes.

Canada suddenly collapsed into his seat beside Mexico, catching Mexico's attention. He ended his conversation with Argentina.

"Hey Mex." Canada smiled tiredly. He shuffled around, placing his suitcase beside him. "This meeting sure is a hassle to get to, eh? My flight took forever."

Mexico nodded, leaning back in his chair. "Did you just arrive today? I got here a few days ago to make it easier."

"Yeah." Canada said sheepishly, "I forgot to book my flight earlier so I was stuck with red-eye flights."

"That sucks."

Canada hummed in agreement. "Anyways, has my brother contacted you recently? He's not responding to my own texts and I think he's mad at me."

Mexico shook his head, "Sorry but no. He's been missing these meetings along with his texts."

"Do you think he's mad at both of us?"

Mexico thought back to all his interactions with America recently. He shook his head, "I don't think so. We haven't had any fights recently... I haven't done anything wrong either..."

"Same here." Canada sighed, "The last time I've him seen was—" Canada tapped his chin, "—was probably when we had that hangout. You were there too, we mostly just played video games."

"Wasn't that like weeks ago?"

"Weeks ago?!" Canada repeated, gaping. "Do you think something bad happened?"

Mexico kept his thoughts hopeful. "No. I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary on America's news. Maybe he just doesn't feel like coming to the meetings?"

"—And his bosses would just let that go? And he suddenly just lost his phone and didn't make any effort to find it? And he ignored everyone's texts and calls???"

"He did get a new boss. Maybe he's more easy-going?" Mexico tried.

"Who was his new boss again?"

"I heard his name was POA. Kind of odd, don't you think?"

"Eh."

The room suddenly quieted down, and the duo followed. Everyone's heads turned to a trio that just walked in.

The trio, known as UN, EU, and NATO. Two human associates shut the huge doors behind the organizations, leaving the room.

Mexico couldn't help but wonder if UN knew America was skipping.

The majority of the room watched in obedient silence as the organizations took their designated seats behind the elevated desks, but there were of course still some countries continuing their conversations.

UN shut up those remaining countries, before finally addressing the room. "Greetings, ladies and gentleman. Thank you for making the time to be here. We all appreciate it."

"Please stay seated as we discuss the next topics." UN continued. "China, you're up first."

China nodded, pulling out a few papers. He thanked UN before droning on about trade routes in the Middle East and oil percentages.

Mexico tried to pay attention, but his mind wandered sooner than later. This was going to be a long meeting.

[Hawaii's POV]

-A week later-

"Why are you blaming this on me?!" New York asked sharply, defensive. "I had nothing to do with this. I'm in the same boat as you."

"Well then who else did it? Who else would do it??" New Jersey asked exasperatedly. He pointed an accusing finger at New York, "You're the one who's always trying to control us— this is just another example!"

"You two, calm down," DC butted in, putting herself in between the two bristling states. "None of us have any concrete evidence yet. Accusing each other will not help any of us."

"I'm not accusing anyone." New Jersey scoffed. "I'm just trying to get some answers."

"Well then you're looking in the wrong place!" New York hissed.

The original thirteen states (plus DC), continued fighting, throwing barely conceived insults at each other.

A few days before, every single state had been called into the Estate for an emergency meeting. Hawaii had only witnessed five emergency meetings in her whole lifetime. Pearl Harbor and 9/11 were a few examples.

This time though, this emergency meeting had been called because someone had ordered all their military bases to become active. No one fessed up to doing it, so no one knew who it was.

In the end, the states had resulted to trying to contact America about it, someone who was regularly seen as a father figure. They called and they texted. They received nothing.

America had not answered any them.

Sure, all the states lived in their own respective homes, but America had always made sure to send a quick text or call every so often. He would especially make sure to call back or respond when one his states were reaching out to him. This was abnormal, and Hawaii knew it.

After all, if something was going on, the states would be the first to be notified. They were as important to America's well-being as he was to himself.

He would never just... disappear.

"Oh, come on," Hawaii heard Texas scoff when a state had pointed at him for being the cause. "Y'all are blaming this on me now? I would never do this!"

"We all know that ain't true," Oklahoma keened. "This is something you would do in a heartbeat!! I mean— war, guns, military— it's your whole thing!"

"That doesn't mean that's all I got!"

Hawaii just sighed, taking a few steps back to try and get some air. She hadn't realized how close she had been standing to the original thirteen until now. No wonder they were so loud.

But instead of gaining some air, the Hawaiian state ended up bumping into Ohio. The older state glared at her briefly before being dragged away by a yelling Kansas. Everyone was heated, and the cramped space wasn't helping.

States barely had any room, crowding into each other's space. This was making them all even more irritable, and Hawaii had to admit, it was starting to get to her too. Heavens, no one could even take a step forward or backwards before they bumped into someone!

Because the older states were too busy arguing, they had left the territories into the care of the younger states. On a normal day the toddlers would be fine, but it really was just all the negativity setting them off. American Samoa, Puerto Rico, and Guam were screeching in Washington and Oregon's arms, the two young states looking close to losing it.

Florida shoved Alabama into the back of the couch, Alabama flipping over into New Hampshire and Vermont. A few curses and insults were shouted before Florida ran off, tears in his eyes.

Hawaii's eyes widened as Florida pushed past her. She's never seen Florida cry. Sure sometimes the states would tease him too much or make fun of his personality way too often, but he never cried then.

Hawaii could barely hear her own heartbeat, the yelling, shouting, and cursing starting to overwhelm her. What was so important about the military bases becoming active anyways? What did it mean?

Active military bases... active military bases... that means America was getting ready for a war of some sort. Maybe against Russia or China? Hawaii kept hearing his name when the states talked about war... But that didn't make sense— Russia was already dealing with Ukraine...

"Just shut the bases the fuck down! We better act now or countries will start thinking we want a war!" Pennsylvania hissed.

Oh. Well that confirmed that nobody else was threatening America for a war. It was them themselves who were provoking a war. Yikes...

A tap on Hawaii's shoulder brought her back to the situation, snapping her out of her thoughts. Hawaii turned to find herself face to face with Idaho.

"Here take her—" Idaho said hastily, shoving Guam into her arms. Hawaii fumbled with the toddler, cradling her head in her hand. "—Thanks Hawaii, I owe you one!"

And with that, he disappeared into the violent crowd.

"Wait what?!" Hawaii yelled, trying to chase after her older brother. She ended up losing him, the sniffling Guam still in her arms. Hawaii groaned, stomping her foot. "IDAHO!"

Her yells ended up blending in with everyone else's.

"This is all your fault! Look around Apple, now everyone fucking hates each other!"

"I said it wasn't me!"

"Someone please just call America, maybe he'll answer this time!"

"Where is Папа anyway???"

A/N:

Woooow a cliffhanger— brace yourselves, it's going to be common >:3

Which states should I include more into this story? I'm already going to use the popular ones (Alaska, Hawaii, California, Texas, Florida, and New York), but I want to try and include everyone as much as I can. I mean, I have the power to, so why not?

Also, I saw everyone's comments from the last chapter! Thank you all so much, I love reading them. Fifi guessed it right too, the northern American trio was playing smash bros— my favorite game to beat up people ^^

I would've responded to all of y'all comments, but Wattpad is being difficult and not letting me. Nova I saw your fanfiction and it looks amazing! I love how you made it from the states and provinces of other countries POV!

I have nothing else to say right now, so goodbye everyone! Make sure to take care and stay safe! Love you guys ^^
