Warning: Nightmares, Strong language, neglect, subtle trauma, and insomnia.
A/N: I don't condone any of these themes above. Please do not glamorize mental illness and trauma, these are serious things that happened in real life.
P.S: I do not owe Genshin Impact, plot, and the characters. Mihiyo created this game, not me.
————————————
Everything was a blur. The poor bespectacled 10-year-old girl with freckles and brown hair tied in two buns sat in the middle of the table, clenching the side of her teddy bear; hearing nothing but noises blared left and right across the dining table with three people barking at each other. A sudden boom erupts in the dining room, flinching the little girl. The freckled girl glanced at her dad, noticing his heated scowl.
"Stop attacking me! What's wrong with joking around with a coworker?!" A middle aged freckled man in his 40s with unshaven chin and brown hair snarled at the two women with his fists against the table with burning hazel eyes.
"Oh don't pull the "I'M INNOCENT" card, Harold! I saw the way you look at him and the way he caresses your chin! How you two were smiling like you're teens! You don't think this is wrong?!" She snapped at him, slamming her fist to the table with chestnut brown orbs filled in rage. The woman was in her mid-30s with curled blonde hair.
"Dad, you and Mr. Harris were acting weird for an hour! My friends can't stop talking about you! Do you know how embarrassing it is to have a dad flirting with a stranger on their daughter's birthday?! I'll get teased in school tomorrow because of you!!!" Cried the 11-year-old girl with blonde hair tied in pink ribbons forming pigtails, sharing the same hazel eyes as her father.
"Penelope..." Harold muttered, feeling his stomach churned and his heart ached as he gazed at his eldest daughter's innocent hazel eyes. Their gazes cut short when his wife slams her fist once again, snapping him out of his thoughts.
"Hey! Don't look at her, look at me! When you're talking to people, you look them in the eyes!" She demanded with piercing chestnut orbs. Her husband groaned and rolled her eyes, looking totally done with his wife's "nagging".
"Here we go again. Acting like fucking Mother Teresa when deep down, she's a bloated ole drunk." He sneered, folding his arms to his chest.
"Hmph. Least I don't randomly hit on men or trans freaks when they approach me." She fired back at his snarky jabs. The eldest blonde daughter nodded at her mom's words.
"Yeah! Take responsibility for what you did, dad! Where's the dad that I knew and loved?!" Penelope hurled, glaring at her father with teary hazel eyes. Observing from the intensity that emitted in the dining room, the youngest freckled daughter darted her eyes left to right. Not wanting the fight to escalate further, she meekly raised her right hand for her parents and her older sister to notice.
"Umm...can we please talk about this calmly?" She suggested, trying to sound firm while negotiating with her family, but the three of them spun their heads to the young freckled girl.
"Mind your business, Leah." Her mother sternly ordered, locking her cold light brown eyes to shut her up.
"Leah, stay out of this!!" Her father growled. His hazel orbs flared at her as if he's threatening her to keep quiet and not say a word.
"Stop it!" Penelope shrieked, glaring at her parents with teary hazel eyes before proceeding their vicious barkings. Poor Leah sighed at her family's bickering, already feeling the chaos ensuing from the table across. With her feeble attempt failed, the freckled girl scoots her chair back and leaps off from the seat as she departs from the argument in the dining room while holding her teddy bear against her chest.
Leah would be lying if she was surprised with the unexpected fight. It's been a routine for her. Got up from bed, talking, eating, not knowing what's going to happen, and the next thing you know, an argument broke out of thin air. A suffocating routine that she's completely desensitized with. When she raised her hand and tried to talk, they shut her down. When she attempted to interfere, they cast her aside like a rat.
That's how her life is. A cruel life that resonated with her for the rest of her life.
As soon as she reaches the stairs, Leah halts and glances back at her family one last time where her envious gaze lay on her older sister, who is arguing aside with her mother and confronting her father.
When will this end?
Leah thought before shaking her head, snapping out of her petty emotions aside and taking a deep breath.
No, don't think about it. You're fine.
She reminded herself before exhaling the air from her nostrils and trudged through the stairs. It's always like this for her. Unlike any other child, Leah had no childhood. She was an observer. A bystander. A background character. That's who she was.
As soon as she trudged through the stairs, Leah entered her room and shut the door. The little freckled girl trotted to her dresser where her Hello Kitty stereo was at, along with her Gengar plush that is next to the stereo on the left and two Sailor Moon figurines, Sailor Venus and Mercury, were all organized in a straight line on the right and in front the CD discs holder.
A sudden boom clash from downstairs made her ears winced before sighing and rolling her eyes at fainted arguments and foul words. Leah pulled out an album from the disc holder with a label that says, "Don't Play That Song" by Ben E. King. She opened the album and gently lifted the CD off from the tiny box before Leah pressed the insert button. She placed the CD in the stereo and closed the lid. She waited for it to load until the song, "Stand by Me", emits from the speakers.
While the song plays, Leah turns the volume up to block all the noise downstairs. She strolls to her bed, humming the tune from the song and flops to her bed. Leah grabs the sketchbook under her blue pillow, slipping a pencil out of the spirals from her sketchbook. As she drew her sketches, a faint female voice echoed in the room where the music went frozen and blurry until a subtle ringing peeked through the room with the same voice blaring once again.
"Leah?...Leah?..."
~~~~~~~
"HEY!"
"Huh?" The bespectacled, freckled woman flinches as she glances at her desktop where a bespectacled woman with red hair tied in pigtails wearing a pink, fluffy sheep onesie and jade orbs lingering through the screen.
"Were you listening to what I said?" She asks, looking annoyed. Leah realizes what happened and shakes her head as she tugs the strand of her brunette locks under her left ear.
"Sorry about that, Eleanor. I was zoning out, again." She apologizes, adjusting her glasses.
"Is everything okay, Leah? Did something happen?" The tall young man with slick back black hair and olive eyes asks wearing a grey long sleeve shirt and yellow shorts, looking a little worried. Leah nods her head.
"I am Vince. No need for you to worry." She gently reassures him.
"You sure? You look pretty lost." Asks the young man with slightly messy silver hair and heterochromiac eyes, containing light yellow on the left and turquoise on the right. He wears a black sleeveless shirt with a Guns N' Roses logo, grey gym pants, and white plain socks. Leah shook her head.
"I'm fine, Oliver. Thank you for your concern." She replies politely with a stone faced expression. The silver haired young man averts his eyes away with a slight blush flaring from his cheeks.
"Right...just don't keep it in too long." Oliver reminds her.
"Dawwww Olly's tsundere side is showing!~" Eleanor sang with a cheeky grin, causing a tick mark to pop from his head.
"Don't push it." He sneers with a scowl while blushing. Eleanor laughed and Vince chuckled at his reaction. Leah's chestnut brown eyes darted to the right as she covered her smile with her hand, trying not to laugh at the poor tsundere boy.
Soon the laughter dies down as Leah sighs, finally suppressing her laughter. She spun back to her three online friends.
"Anyways, back to this. What were you guys discussing while I was Area 51?" She dryly asks. Vince chuckles at her dry humor.
"While you're in "Area 51", we were talking about Genshin Impact." He explained.
"Aah, Genshin." Leah ponders, placing her hand on her chin with an expressionless look.
"Eleanor was geeking out over a game Mihoyo released two years ago." Leah said, recalling an email she received from her band mate and close friend.
"I remember how Eleanor was gushing over the game and was begging me to try it out. Though I was more invested with interactive games, I found the cover and character designs appealing, so I decided to play it since people won't stop talking about it. And may I say, it was a pretty good game." Leah admits with Eleanor nodding at her with a giddy grin plastered on her face.
"Yup! The story and characters are so interesting, it's so addicting, and the characters in the game are so cute and beautiful! Not to mention the boys and gals in the game are total eye candy that I wouldn't mind getting stepped on~." She purrs with a glimmer of admiration in her jade colored eyes. Her words she spouts from her mouth didn't deter the bespectacled, freckled brunette as she remained apathetic, but it did send chills down Oliver's spine, but not in a good way. He scowls at his shameless friend.
"Do you have to say that in a sensual way?" He hisses.
"Oh cmon, Oliver. You gotta admit that Mihiyo did a well done job of making the characters so well diverse and good-looking." She assures as the redhead spun her head to the tall raven haired man.
"Surely you could agree with me, right Vince?" She asks, winking at the camera to the young Raven haired man, who chuckles in response.
"You aren't exactly wrong about that, Ellie." He replied before his lips crept a sly smirk. "Especially when guys like Kaeya, Zhongli, Diluc, and Tartaglia have big dick energy vibes that all lads, ladies, non-binary hoes drool over~." He replies in a slick, flirty tone.
"Amen~." Eleanor purrs, returning the shameless smirk as both of them chuckled and giggled sensually. Leah covers her smile with her hand, secretly enjoying the two geeks teasing one another while Oliver rolls his eyes at the two simps before shifting his head back to the bespectacled, freckled woman.
"What about you, Leah? Any characters you like?" He asks.
Please don't be Childe, Scaramouche, La Signora, or Kaeya.
He thought, hoping she wouldn't answer either of the names he mentioned in his head. Leah tilts her head with her fingers on her chin, humming in ponder.
"Oh right! I almost forgot about that!" Eleanor perks up and spun her head to the bespectacled, freckled brunette. "Who's your favorite character in the game, Leah? I'm betting you're a Venti simp!" She assumes with a giddy smile. Leah curls her brows, staring incredulously at her redhead friend. Oliver clicks his tongue.
"The fuck would she go for the toned-deaf bard?" He sneers, scowling at Eleanor. The bespectacled redhead shrugs.
"Just assuming. Cuz she and Venti are both singers and passionate too, or there's a possibility that she's a Kaeya, Childe, Albedo, or a Diluc simp. Or all." She theorizes. Her theories made the silver haired gagged at the thought of Leah being any one of those simps.
"I could accept both Albedo and Diluc as possibilities since she always has that ''Diluc" or ''Albedo" energy, but Leah's absolutely not the type of person who would choose a sus-looking Calvary Captain of the Knights of Favonius and a blood-thirsty Harbinger who almost killed the entire nation, city, or town of Liyue. I don't know what you call it, but I don't care! Fuck the guy, he's a dick!" Oliver rants.
"He had sort of a change of heart though. Plus, he has a soft spot for his family." Eleanor adds with a cheery grin.
"Doesn't change anything." He bluntly retorts, plastering a blank look.
"I don't give a fuck! He's the man that I do not mind getting stepped on by!" The redhead fires back, gushing over the ginger haired harbinger.
"Then go to therapy, you damn masochist!" Oliver snaps. Leah sat there on the sidelines as she sipped a glass of water, secretly enjoying the conflict between her two friends. Her chestnut eyes glimmer in exhilaration behind her calm facade. She swears she can hear Vince sighing through her earbuds. While watching the chaos unfold from the screen, Leah's light brown darts to the window where a shooting star descending through the starry night. She shifts her head and stares at the shooting star, splitting herself from the chaotic conversation.
"And how would you know if she's not a simp for both Kaeya or Childe?" Oliver asks, challenging the redhead with the theory she mentioned.
"You never know! Leah may look like she goes for the quiet, mysterious types like Kazuha, Xiao, or Dainsleif, but what if she picks the unexpected like Scaramouche." She guesses, causing Oliver to frown at that assumption.
"Fuck no! I know Leah! She is not that stupid to fall for a pint-sized sadistic motherfucker like the Balladeer!!" He hisses, disagreeing with her theory.
"Hey now, you shouldn't assume things without knowing first. Why not let her answer for you?" Vince reassures before darting his olive eyes at the freckled, bespectacled brunette.
"Huh?" His words soon snapped Leah out of her thoughts as she spun her head to her close friends.
"Ellie was just theorizing about you simping for Scaramouche." Oliver bluntly told her. Leah's face remains emotionless before placing her hand over to her mouth where she suppresses a snicker, flashing back to the lyrics from the song, Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. God, she could not listen to the song after his first appearance. Vince notices she's going off track and clears his throat.
"Ahem, Leah. Ellie just asked you a question." He reminds her, getting her back to reality.
"Oh." She clears her throat. "Sorry, you said about Scaramouche?" She asks curiously, creasing her brows at the wild redhead. "May I ask, why do you believe I would be attracted to the sixth harbinger, who is an asshole to everyone?" She asks, baffled yet a bit offended by her assumption. Eleanor shrugs nonchalantly.
"Don't know, it's just a guess. I could be wrong though, but it's better if you could just tell me what your favorite character is in Genshin." She assures, leaning to the screen with her elbows lying on her desk.
"If you're comfortable with it, of course." He consoles her with a tranquil grin. Leah nods with a blank look, yet deeply appreciates him for validating her feelings.
"So who's your favorite?" Oliver asks. Leah leans back to her seat and folds her arms with her eyes averting from the screen where the freckled, bespectacled brunette hums.
"How about a guessing game. To see if you manage to guess my favorite character correctly." She suggests.
"OOOOH! That's such a good idea!" Eleanor perks, clapping her hands together with jade eyes sparkled in glee.
"I'm down with that." Oliver coolly replied.
"I guess I'm joining in too." Vince adds with a chill grin, yet his competitive olive eyes don't match his zen-looking smile. This did not go unnoticed by his close friends as both Oliver and Eleanor formed merciless smirks; along with Leah yet hers is more subtle than the both of them.
"Then let's begin, shall we?" Leah insists with chestnut eyes beams in anticipation.
"Is it Rosaria?" Eleanor guesses.
"No." Leah replies firmly.
"Xingqiu?" Oliver assumes.
"Not even close." Leah responds sternly.
"Shehne?" Vince guesses.
"The fuck would I have a crush on Chongyun's adeptus aunt?" Leah asks incredulously, creasing her brows.
"Beidou?" Eleanor assumes once again, this time looking annoyed.
"Nope." Leah answered with a slight smug.
"Ningguang?" Oliver guesses with his brows curled, hoping he got it right. Leah giggles a little.
"Wrong again, Olly-kun~." Leah replied in a honeyed tone, using his pet name to fluster the silver haired young man and ducks his head against his desk.
"D-Don't say it like that!" He stutters, blushing underneath his desk with Leah giggling through the monitor, enjoying his adorable, flustered reaction.
"How about Razor? He's your type, right?" Vince asks.
"He's cute, but I viewed him more as a little brother figure that I would keep an eye on. So no." Leah replies.
"Ugh. God, I'm going to get this wrong, but is it Bennett?" Oliver guesses.
"No." She replies.
"Arataki Itto?" Vince assumes.
"Incorrect." She replies once more.
"Zhongli?" Vince and Oliver both guesses in unison.
"He's definitely a handsome grandpa-like former geo archon, but no. He's not." She replies to them.
"Oh I got one! It's Thoma right? It has to be Thoma!" Eleanor assumes with jade eyes glimmering in hope.
"Hmm good choice, I'll admit, but no." She flatly replies, making the redhead groan and flops to her desk.
"Ok, this is my last guess. Your favorite character is Xiao." Vince assumes one last time. Leah elicits a soft giggle through her hand that covers her real smile before she uncovers her mouth.
"...No." She replied, making Vince sigh and slump his seat with Leah cackling at their failed guesses.
"Damn, Leah. You're hard to read." Oliver grumbles.
"Ughhh! I ran out of guesses. I thought I would have nailed it if I just guessed "Thoma", but nope! That guess got thrown out of the window, real quick!" Eleanor rants while slumping her chin against the hard wooden platform from her desk. Vince chuckles softly.
"At least it was a fun game. I really need that after my exhausting modeling poses." He sighs, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Modeling must be a pain, huh?" Leah assumes.
"Sorta, but you get great money at the end of the day." He adds with a chill grin.
"True." Leah replies, agreeing with his statement.
"Alright, alright, enough of your modeling struggles. Neither didn't get your guesses correctly and we pretty much gave up on this point, so who's your favorite?" She asks. Leah shrugs her shoulders.
"Nobody." She replies firmly.
"Eeh?" Eleanor utters in disbelief.
"I said I have no favorites." She replies frankly with a stoic look. The chatroom went silent until the redhead shouted through the screen.
"WHAAAAAAAT!?!?!" Her voice shrills through the speakers that made Vince and Oliver's ears bleed while Leah chortles at her friend's reaction with a smile, peeking through her hand that used to cover her mouth.
"Girl! You need to tell me that we went through 15 minutes of guessing for nothing?!" Eleanor bellows.
"That's basically the whole point of a guessing game. You guess..." She forms a smug face and crosses her arms to her chest. "..I respond." She told her.
"Motherfucker!!" Eleanor kept ranting through the speaker with Leah cackling at her geeky, redhead friend barking at her like a dog. Vince sighs and tugs the strand of his black hair to his right ear and Oliver pulls his earbud from his right ear as he drills his pinky in his ear to soothe it from Eleanor's screaming.
"Ok, Leah. That's enough teasing. So you said you don't have a favorite. I'm going to assume you like all of them equally?" He guesses, making her revert back to her deadpan look.
"I have no idea what you're implying." Leah replies, feigning ignorance.
"Bullshit. There's gotta be something more than just "not having favorites"!" Eleanor exclaims.
"Nope." Leah lied, still playing dumb. Eleanor groans and slumps to her desk. Leah shrugs her shoulders.
"I don't fall in love quickly. It has to be this "spark" that would ignite when you get to know that person more. Sides, I viewed them as equals." She told her.
"But is there a character that you disliked?" Oliver asks, ignoring her "dumb card" shtick. Leah presses her hand to her chin, darting her eyes at the ceiling.
"Hmmm well at first, I disliked Tartaglia at first for what he did, but after the plot twist, I kinda warmed up to him. Still doesn't change the fact he almost killed the entire city, so my view on him is neutral in that point; just like Kaeya, La Signora, Ei, and Diluc. Scaramouche, on the other hand, I'm still waiting for Mihoyo to release the new arc for a more possible story arc for Scaramouche. For now, my view remains ambiguous." She informs them.
"I see." Vince replies with an easygoing smile.
"That's fair." Oliver adds.
"Open-minded as ever, Leah." Eleanor remarks before slyly smirking. "Or are you just saying that you want a reverse harem of guys and gals, riiight?~" She teases. Leah cracks a small grin and rolls her eyes at her silly joke.
"Sure, like I wish characters from the game would appear in my room that would possibly turn into a reverse harem. That would be totally cool, Eleanor." She sarcastically replies.
"Don't jinx yourself if you're going to say that." Oliver advises.
"I know that, genius. It was a joke." She dryly points out. Leah stretches her arms and lets out a yawn. "Well, I think I'm hitting the hay for tonight. Gotta finish up with my illustration that the boss assigned me." Leah told them and they nod.
"Same, I gotta go before my aunt marches upstairs and nags at me 24/7 for staying up too long." Oliver said as he turns off the monitor.
"Well it's nice talking to you ladies, but this guy's gotta get some beauty sleep with my awesome bae. Night!" He chirps and signs out.
"Aye, aye, sir!" Eleanor chirps, playfully salutes to him.
"Have fun with your bae." Leah replies, bowing her head to him. Once he left the chatroom, it's just the two of them.
"Just to let you know, try to take an easy on those sleeping pills. My mom was furious when you took three doses of them last time." She reminds her, making Leah sigh.
"You know I have nightmares, Elle. It's been haunting me for a long time. You never know when it's crawling back." She told her. Eleanor stares at her, still looking concerned.
"Still. It doesn't make you feel good, Leah. You can take it before you go to bed, but take two pills after you wake up? That doesn't sound healthy." Eleanor mentions, looking concerned. Leah isn't dumb to not noticed her concern expression. She is aware that she's saying this out of care. She couldn't help but sigh at her redhead friend's concern.
"I know..." She adjusts her glasses. "I'll try not to overdo it." Leah swears to her.
"I hope so," She said, taking off her kitty headphones. "Goodnight, Leah. Sleep well, ok?" She assures and Leah nods.
"I will." She replied, clicking off the chatroom. Leah takes off her earbuds and places them on the desk. Suddenly, a bark came into the room when Leah spun her chair to see her pet Pomsky wagging its tail, panting happily.
Leah smiles warmly and pats its head.
"Hey Pompey, tired?" She assumes as Pompey barked in response, making her giggle.
"Alright, let's get you to bed." She said as Leah got up from her swivel chair and took Pompey to his doggy bed next to her desk on the right. Then she sits next to him and places his head on her lap as Leah hums a lullaby to him.
"You are my sunshine
My only sunshine
You make me happy
When skies are gray
You'll never know, dear
How much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away~."
Leah leans over and plants a kiss on his head as she stands up from the floor once he falls asleep. Then she glances at the dresser that has a picture frame of herself and a young teen boy with long blonde hair tied in a ponytail, a beauty mark under his left eye, and blue orbs, smiling with his hand on her head.
She smiles at the picture frame, fondly reminiscing about him.
~~~~~~
"Hey Leah."
"Yeah?"
The young blonde haired man clenched his hands against the grass while gazing at the starry sky.
"We're both aware that our lives are different. If anything happens, don't cling on to me too much." He advised, surprising the teenage Leah. He spun his head with a tender smile yet his eyes lingered with a different aura.
"I want you to focus on the present. Don't think too much about the future, or the past." He gave a closed eyed smile. "Cuz I'll always look after you, smiling down from the clouds in heaven while remembering the good times we shared." He consoled her while smiling. "So keep being that dorky, snarky, and sweetest badass I knew. Don't ever lose that creative and passionate spark you have, Kay?" He reassured her with his bright grin. Leah stares intently at him, aware of his melancholic eyes that glimmer under the moonlight. She crept her hands to his cheeks and leaned over to plant a kiss on his soft lips. Leah parts away with a genuine smile.
"I'm aware of your situation, Franco." She replied, grazing his cheeks gently. "I know about your lifestyle and your reason why you did it." She said, shaking her head while grinning lovingly. "That doesn't stop me from loving you." Leah expressed caressing his cheeks with her thumbs. Franco gently grabs her hands while not minding her caressing his cheeks. His loving blue orbs bores the bespectacled, freckled girl's chestnut eyes that glimmers with unconditional love and a warm smile that was irresistible to turn away.
"Whether life or death, I'll always cherish you as my true friend, and the man who gave me joy in my life and cares for me sincerely." She professed before pulling him into a deep kiss with Franco closing his eyes, reciprocating his love. With their lips locked and hands all over their bodies, the two of them let themselves enjoyed their moments falling to the grassy fields under the stars and moon.
~~~~~~
Leah sighs through her nostrils with a genuine smile while gazing at the picture.
It's been four years since I heard of him.
She thought as Leah darts her eyes at the window.
I wonder how he's doing in heaven right now?
She thought before shaking her head from her mind.
Never mind that, I need to take my pills.
Leah reminds herself. She strolls to the counter to take her sleeping pills. Just as she grabs it, Leah opens the cap before groaning in response.
"Damnit. I forgot to refill them today." She grumbles, stomping back to her desk as Leah throws the empty bottle to the trash can next to her desk. She flops to her bed and sighs through her nostrils. "It's ok, I'll manage to sleep through it." She mutters as Leah takes her glasses off and places them on the end table. She glances at the window one last time with stars glistening in the night sky. Leah thought about Eleanor's reverse harem she made just now.
If Genshin Impact characters were to appear in my room, maybe things would be less boring and lonely...
She thought before scoffing in response and flops back to the bed.
Please, there's absolutely no way that would happen. Sides, I don't do false hope. Not even death could give me a happy ending. Karma exists for a reason...
Leah thought as she fell into deep slumber where dreams bubbled into her mind.
~~~~~~
It was a cold afternoon many years ago in 2003, poor 12-year-old Leah remembered everything that happened. She was sitting in the backseat, walking on eggshells as Leah grips her mint chip ice cream, not caring if it's melting through her hands and her denim skirt. The little girl sniffles quietly, failing to suppress her tears while feeling the car swiveling left to right. Leah glanced at her father, noticing his hazy eyes wandering off to the unknown with his hand fumbling the wheel. She stares at him apprehensively before darting her eyes to her older sister, who spun her head to her, noticing her frightened gaze.
A gaze that screams "I don't wanna be here" mixed with a plea of "Penny, please tell him." expression.
Her stares at her for a minute before darting her eyes at her father and turns her head away. The tears swells in her eyelids while shuddering like a leaf as grips her cone until it breaks. The ice cream dropped and slipped from the left side of her skirt to the seat.
The next thing she knew was a loud honk screeching at them with a light beaming in her face. Leah slowly spun her head that made her light brown eyes widened and opens her mouth. A scream was unleashed before the beam fades into oblivion along with a loud crash boomed before her eyes.
~~~~~~~
"Gah!" Leah gasps and sprang up from bed, panting heavily, laying her hand to her chest feeling her heart beating rapidly from the nightmare she dreamt. She shits her eyes and take slow, deep breaths to calm her heart down.
"Well that's one of my trippy dream episodes." She sighs, ruffling her hair.
"Oh? Care to explain more?" A voice appeared that made the freckled brunette freeze. Something felt off. She didn't recall having a visitor in her apartment, yet it feels awfully familiar. Leah gulps, and warily spun her head to see a blue haired handsome man with icy blue eyes, lying next to her shirtless.
"Hello~." He purrs in a flirtatious tone. Alarmed, Leah quickly rises from her bed and backs herself to the wall while keeping her calm, stoic demeanor. Leah quickly grabs her glasses from the end table and puts them on.
How did this happen? Why's Kaeya in my room? More accurately, how did he get here? My mind's not tricking me, is it?
Four questions swirled in Leah's mind as she pushed her glasses to the bride of her nose. The mysterious blue haired stranger chuckles.
"Awww, I thought you loved it when I was the first thing you see after you woke up~," He smirks and sits up, revealing his toned pecs and abs. Leah covers her eyes with her hand, not wanting to see him half naked.
Welp, it's confirmed. This is real.
She thought while covering her face with her hand before clearing her throat.
"Before we discuss anything, may I ask you to please put your clothes on?" She politely requests while covering her view from the half naked Kaeya.
"Hmm I don't know, you seem to like it when you see my body~," He teases, irking the freckled, brunette.
"Please." She asks again, but with a stern tone this time. Who would've thought getting teased by Kaeya in real life would be annoying? Soon, a barking emitted in the room along with a shout.
"H-Hey...not my tail...!" Leah blinks at another familiar voice and turns her head to see Pompey biting a little girl's tail from her ninja outfit.
The brunette immediately recognized the girl in the mujina as Leah scurried to her pet dog with Kaeya chuckling at Pompey's antics.
"No, no, no. Bad Pompey. No biting the girl's tail or no breakfast!" She scolds, making the dog pause when hearing her threats and releases the girl's mujina tail, causing the little girl to sigh in relief. Leah then grabs the girl's tail and gently caresses it, yet she felt the tiny holes that Pompey punctured.
"Sorry about him, he's really cautious over strangers. You ok?" She asks curiously, the girl tiredly nods while rubbing her eyelids. She aimlessly glance around her room. Something that felt unfamiliar to her.
"Hmm...? This isn't my napping spot..." She mutters, spinning her head left to right before facing Leah. "Where am I?" She asks, tiredly tilting her head curiously.
"You're in my room." She told her. Kaeya pulls down the shades, witnessing a high view of a sunrise glistening the entire building before glancing down at the view of automobiles roaming around the city. The blue haired man hums, curiosity yet suspicion before releasing the blinds from the window shades. He got up from the bed and put on his clothes as he approached them.
"Well this is unexpected." He comments, folding his arms. "But I need an explanation for this. You did mention that you want to discuss things with me, correct? Why not explain to me, now?" He suggests, yet his icy blue glints with caution. Leah nods, knowing fully well how cautious Kaeya is and has an inkling that the little ninja mujina wants to know too. Leah couldn't help but let out a sigh and ruffled her hair. This is going to be an exhausting day for her.
