Small Talk
"Shinra..." Shizuo repeated to himself as he put on his gloves and grabbed his Rosario. "Who's Shinra?" He clearly seemed distracted, walking towards the front of the church as he faked a smile and greeted the people who came in.
All that could be heard was soft heavy breathing from the both of them. Izaya pulled in the blond for one last kiss before he knew, he would have to leave.
The kiss broke and Shizuo had only one thing in mind. "Who's Shinra?"
Izaya paused. He gently pushed the other away and sat up and away from the other, his legs off the side of the bed and his hands on the side of him.
"He's no one." He was clearly lying, but the priest of all people knew why people lied. To escape from the reality. There was an empty silence for a few moments before, "I should go."
"You can stay," he said almost immediately. Izaya smiled sadly.
"I can't. I'm cursed remember? You're..." he trailed off.
"But you're hurt!" At this point he was only saying things to make him stay. All he did was dress himself and grab his belongings, walking away. "I could help!"
He was gone.
Shizuo grimaced at the memory of the night before. He felt used. He felt forgotten. He tried his hardest to hide the uncomfortable feeling and continued to greet. It literally hadn't been longer than a few hours since it happened, so he shook off the feeling and continued until he heard a shrill scream.
He perked up and then ran in the direction. A young woman was at the scene, her mouth covered by her hand in shock.
The roses were gone. Only a single one stood in the vast garden, a garden that took a near decade to put together, and in one night it was gone. There was only one person who was capable of doing this and they all knew who.
Panic began to stir and the priest thought and thought. How can he calm the town down?
"Everybody!" They all turned to him. A whole waft of memories flooded his head and in that moment, he could only think about the unholy beast. "It's alright! We can restore the garden, we can... we can continue on with our day." A wave of whispers covered the crowd. That clearly wasn't the best thing to say.
"How do we know this beast won't go after us next!" One man shouted.
"I have children to look after!" Another shouted along with a few others who agreed. He knew it wasn't going to be easy but he needed time.
"After our service today, go home. I will look into this and solve this problem. I assure you no harm will come to you or your families." The people were not happy with the answer but they knew it was the best he could do. Although blessed with the powers of a priest, he was still human.

Night fell and Shizuo sat at the edge of his bed. His sheets from before were in a basket near the door, reminding him he had to wash them, yet the bed still had a familiar scent to it. The scent triggering small vivid memories of the night prior, the sounds, the feelings, everything. He sighed, his feelings and emotions all over the place.
"How the hell am I supposed to fix this?" Then a knock on the door. His focus went from trying to solve the problem to the door. "Who is it?"
The door opened to reveal his younger brother, Kasuka.
"What are you going to do about it? The roses are gone and it's only a matter of time before he goes to drink," he asked without a greeting. Shizuo wasted no time to grab ahold of his shirt and slam him against the wall.
"And who's fault for you think that is!" His brother blinked a few times before processing what had just happened. He glanced to the side, avoiding eye contact, thinking about it, before he looked back at his brother.
"Yours." The blond backed off, baffled at his response.
"What do you mean?" He scoffed.
"You should've killed him when you had the chance. You always hesitated when it came to killing him." Kasuka simply explained with little emotion in his voice.
"And what makes you say that?" The priest, furious, clenched his fists before he forced himself to relax. He didn't want to kill his brother. The younger brother continued with the eye contact as he leaned in, almost threateningly.
"That morning you seemed concerned for him and last night you slept with him." Before Shizuo could respond the brother interrupted. "Don't think I didn't know." Kasuka then glared at his brother, disappointed in his decisions.
"Kasuka I can explain-"
"No! You're just pathetic!" He pushed him off and away, clearly upset with him. "You may be blessed with what you have now, the powers and all, but you're also our protector!" As he spoke, he pointed to the outside woods, and further down, the town. "You're supposed to kill the beast!"
The blond replied before his younger brother could fully finish. "And what if I could tame it!" Kasuka only responded with a confused, shocked expression as Shizuo backed off, knowing what he said was the worst thing he could have said.
"If you want to tame it, fine. But we all know the odds of you doing that is slim to none. So what I advise you to do is kill the beast before there is more trouble spreading around town!" He walked out, feeling a boiling hot anger inside, slamming the door behind him. "He should know better," he muttered under his breath. A familiar feeling covered his body. His heightened senses brought him back, and he really wanted to get this anger out. So, he went into the woods.
Shizuo stopped to ponder. Why tame Izaya? How? Was that even possible? He's more human like if anything, so wouldn't the equivalent be, to be friends with him?
'Ha, yeah. Friends.' He thought to himself. Sure seemed more than that.

The roses were gone and he was beginning to feel the satisfaction he had earlier deplete by the minute and soon by the second. The roses were gone and he had no way to delay the sudden hunger. The roses were gone and so was his sanity.
He leaned against a tree in the woods near the priest's home but he had no plans to visit. The night prior was bad enough as it was, he thought, and he seriously didn't want to cause any more trouble.
That was when he heard padded footsteps, but they were soft, meaning they were far.
"Fuck I need to leave..." he whispered, almost mumbling. But what he didn't realize was those footsteps belonged to someone who was running, and they were coming in his direction. He managed the stand, but he had to lean against the tree trunk, placing his head in his hand, a headache forming and the dizziness growing.
"So..." a familiar voice called out. "This is what a broken demon looks like." It was that son of a bitch who decided to place a curse on him, Kasuka, as he would describe him. "Why are you here?" It wasn't a question rather, it was a threat.
"Well what do you think?" Izaya replied in the most prideful, confident voice he could create, but obviously in the state he was in, it backfired. There was a moment of silence until the demon tried to take a step, resulting in another wave of dizziness overpowering him, grabbing a hold of the tree trunk again with a firmer grasp.
Kasuka then looked down at the vampire, pity suddenly clouding his eyes. "You know my brother said he'd tame you." He blatantly spoke.
"Haha," he huffed a laughed. "Shizu-chan did?"
The brother stared and soon continued after a long pause.
"Wanna go to him?"
