Sharpedo Riding and Lapras Fishing!
It was the next day and I woke up bright and early.
*Yawn!* I noticed my bracelet. "Oh, that's right. That strange Pokémon gave me this strange bracelet. Wonder if it does anything special? Looks cute, either way." I gazed at the white and pink cord.
"Serena! Your latest appearance is on!"
I bolted up. "Really?"
"Yes! Hurry, so you don't miss it!"
Rushing over to the TV, I sat down to watch the news.
"The new Kalos Queen, Serena, has left on vacation! As respect to her privacy, we shall not tell everyone where she went. (In truth, we don't know either!) This has been Alola News, signing off!"
I looked at Mom. "Wow. We really did shake them, huh? I guess all those flights to Sinnoh, Hoenn, Kanto, Johto, Unova and Ransei were worth it! Can't believe the paparazzi turned their attention from us to that poor, poor warlord. And what, wasn't he like in his early twenties?"
Mom nodded. "Yeah, I think he was. Had a cute and beautiful helper, too. Now, run along! Make the most of your vacation! I'll be down on the beach with Fletchling soon."
I nodded, then retrieved all my Pokémon, ready for adventure! "Sure thing, Mom!"
Putting on my swimsuit underneath, I rushed out the hotel and slid down the rail, eager to do some of the tourist attractions! Running over to the peer, I saw a Sharpedo with a saddle. Walking over, I gave it a good look.
"Wanna give Sharpedo riding a twirl? Free of charge!" A woman was looking at me look at Sharpedo.
"Really? That's great! Sylveon, I choose you!"
"Sil!" She burst out of her Pokéball.
Hopping onto Sharpedo's back, we took off racing. Skimming across the water, Sylveon and I basked in the sunlight and salty air, giving us new life like Xerneas.
"Best! Day! Ever!"
Suddenly, Sharpedo twisted, causing me to lose my grip.
"Waaah!"
Landing in the water with a big splash, I swam over to a shadow, thinking it was Sharpedo. When I surfaced, I was surprised to find a Lapras with a girl on back. My sudden appearance slightly startled her.
"Oh! Did you fall off of Sharpedo, per-chance?"
I nodded while treading water. "Yeah. Mind if I climb on?"
She smiled. "Go right ahead! My name is Lana, you?"
I climbed up and sat against the spinning chair. "Serena."
"Wait, the Kalos Queen?"
I smiled. "Yep. Usually, I'm a bit more contained with fans, but given how Kahuna Hala says he'll take care of any trouble makers, I can FINALLY relax!"
"Pop?" A blue flipper was put on my bracelet.
Lana looked at her Pokémon. "Popplio? What's wrong?"
Popplio put its other flipper over my bracelet. I took it off and showed it to the cute Pokémon.
"What, this? A strange Pokémon gave me this last night."
Lana gazed at my bracelet in awe. I noticed.
"Is it... special?"
Lana nodded. "Yeah, it is. What did the Pokémon look like?"
I scratched my chin. "Uh, it was... pink and had what looked like a pink hat... oh! It also called out 'le' a lot!"
Lana fell off of Latios. Once she surfaced, she gazed at me in awe. "You saw Tapu Lele??? Guardian of Akala Island? That Tapu Lele???"
I nodded. "Uh, yeah? I mean, I think? This is only my second day in Alola, see."
Lana practically fainted. "And here I thought Ash was lucky........."
My eyes lit up. "Ash Kechum? You know him?!?"
Lana gazed at me, curious. "Uh, yeah. I do. Why?"
I blushed a tad. "He's... an old friend of mine."
Lana nodded, unconvinced. "Uh-huh. Welp, let's get you back to dock."
Getting back on Sharpedo, Lana and I headed back to the dock and Lana showed me this great restaurant owned by her friend, Mallow's, dad.
The bell rung. "Welcome! Please, take a seat! We'll be right there!" A girl called out from the kitchen.
Lana replied in the strangest way possible. "Sunny side up!"
A girl with green hair poked her head out of the kitchen. "Oh! Lana! Didn't realize. Who's that with you?"
Lana nudged me forward. "Go on, introduce yourself!"
I smiled. "I'm Serena! Nice to meet you, Mallow! Lana told me all about you. Is it true that your Pokémon evolved while you were in trouble?"
A Pokémon came out, too. It was pink and green and reminded me of a fruit. "Stee!"
Mallow sat us down at a table. "Yeah, it is. Ash was with me, too, when it happened!"
I smiled heavily, remembering the little gift I left him at the end of his journey in Kalos. The others noticed.
"Do you.. have a crush on him?" Mallow eyed me suspiciously.
Yes. "No. Why would I have a crush on the kid WHO JUMPED OFF OF PRISIM TOWER JUST TO SAVE HIS PIKACHU???"
Mallow and Lana's faces grew white. "Wait. He..."
Lana finished. "Jumped off of another high cliff?"
I tilted my head. "What do you mean, 'another'?"
Mallow sighed. "Ash leapt off the cliff close by the Pokémon School to save his Pikachu while fighting Tapu Koko."
I face-palmed. "That's just typical of Ash."
Lana and Mallow let out puffs of air. "Right......"
We froze, then laughed. Mallow walked away, her Pokémon following. Lana and I continued to talk until the restaurant was lit up in yellow.
"Pika-chuuuuuuu!"
I looked at Lana, who's face was devoid of color. "What was that about?"
"Nothing. Mallow probably used Pikachu to jumpstart a cooking appliance..." Lana mumbled something else about a stew, but I couldn't get all of it.
Eventually, Mallow came out with a Pikachu on her shoulder and a bowl of piping hot soup. All the color vanished from Lana, who slowly backed away.
"On second thought, I'm not hungry, Mallow."
I looked at Lana. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing! It's just... I should really go home and check up on my sisters! Bye!"
I looked at Mallow, she shrugged, and I took a bite of stew. And it felt like getting hit by a Thunderbolt attack.
CRASH!
Okay! Second chapter done! I think I'll introduce Kukui to Serena next and have her ask about teaching his class about Contests!!!
