"Have you told him?" Lilly asked Camila while she looked at her former patient.
"Not yet." Camila was hesitant to tell him, their relationship had turned cold, and she turned him away back when she was undergoing treatment.
"But, it's tomorrow..." The day that Peter was moving away to Canada, he finally got a promotion after working for 15 years in the same construction company. Carter Constructions had expanded to bring their services in Canada and Europe, and Peter was one of their diligent works, him along with an architect.
"I know." Camila said as she put her hands to cover her face.
"Then you should tell him." Lilly urged her.
"I can't just tell him." What was she gonna tell him? Hi honey, I finally got cured of cancer, and I'm also expecting a child! Of course not!
"Of course you can, you have to do it already." Lilly insisted.
"Peter is not going to listen to me, Lilly. He thinks that I cheated on him with Oscar." Camila stood up and walked away.
"So be it. Tell him. If he takes off without listening to you, then that's his loss. If he stays, then you have another chance to start over. If he doesn't believe you, he can go off to Canada and beat it. There are a lot of single moms out there. My ex-husband moved away to marry another woman when Marcus was 7 and I'm doing just fine." Lilly said nonchalantly. "There is no harm in trying, Camila. This is your chance to prove to yourself that you won't run away from your problems. You will face Peter and tell him the truth."
Camila looked at her former college friend for a couple of seconds until she was convinced of her decision.
"I will."
