Nick birthday
Sci-Fi
Tonight there's a party for Nick's birthday and the house is full of people. Suddenly, while he's taking a phone call, the sound of broken glasses breaks into the house.
He goes looking for the reason and finds his own son with a stick in front of a broken window but in spite of the overwhelming evidence, the kid insists.
"Mickey!" Nick fumed.
"It wasn't me!" The kid insisted.
How was he going to explain this?
"YOU'RE GROUNDED YOUNG MAN!" Nick yelled. The 8-year-old ran away to his room, crying.
Nick knew that Mickey wanted to take a turn to break the piñata, but this was just ridiculous. Mickey cried on the pillow, "I didn't do it." The boy sobbed.
Two of the guests spoke in hushed tones.
"Sad." One of Nick's friends commented.
"I know, is strange that a child had the strength to break the glass windows at once." Tim implied.
"What are you getting at?" Greg asked with a confused facial expression.
"That something doesn't add up." Tim implied.
"For crying out loud! Everyone saw the kid break the glass window." Greg stated.
"At the exact same time as the other glass windows? I don't think so."
"So whaddaya think it was since you think you're so smart, Sherlock?" Greg retorted.
"My watch picked up a high frequency after the glass windows broke. It was too high-pitched that it was inaudible." Tim commented.
Mickey's parents continued the party as if nothing happened. Nick's wife brought out the birthday cake along with the lit candles.
Nick's friends and his wife sang the birthday song. "Happy birthday to you..." A silhouette headed upstairs while Tim caught sight of it in the corner of his eye. "Happy birthday to you..." Tim followed while the people sang. "Happy birthday, Nick." Nick thought he heard a voice warn him when his name was mentioned. "Happy birthday to..."
"You." Tim sneered as he saw a man wearing all black like a ninja.
"Are too late." The man in black added before Nick blew the candles and the power went out. When Tim turned on his smartphone to see, he entered into Mickey's room and found out that he was gone.
"They took your son." A voice whispered into Nick's ear. The people activated the flashlight from their smartphones. The first thing the saw was that Nick panicked as he ran to Mickey's room.
His son went missing.
Tim was nowhere in sight or so they thought when they saw him come out of the kitchen.
"Your son has been kidnapped." Tim warned, by the time the light came back on, he was wearing a different attire and his face was stubbly and his red hair was slightly longer.
"I don't have much time, Nick. I came to warn you three days earlier, today that your son has been abducted by the Paedocubvourus for experimentation, that monster is taking children all over the world to devour them and to end this generation. I found their base, is hidden in-" but Tim vanished before he had the chance to give out the location.
PRESENT TIME ⌚
Tim had gotten out of Mickey's bedroom window to chase after the shrouded kidnapper that took Nick's son, but couldn't find them.
The kidnapper brought the boy to the black car, his accomplice opened the trunk of the car and made room for the boy, as the put him in a fetal position. The kidnapper shut the door of the trunk.
Jessica, Nick's wife, and Mickey helped prepare the birthday decorations; streamers, ballons, the birthday banner, the candles, the snacks and beverages, but most importantly, the piñata!
Jessica received a text from her mother. It was an audio. She pressed play. ["We're here. Your father is parking the car."] After she finished hearing the recording, she heard the doorbell ring. Mickey ran to open the door.
"Hello pumpkin." His grandma greeted.
"Hi gran-gran." Mickey smiled before his grandma kissed him on the cheek.
"Hey there you little rascal." Mickey's grandfather ruffled the boys hair playfully.
"Thank you for coming on such short notice." Jessica replied before her mother gave her a hug.
"Don't worry about it sweety," the elderly said before whispering into her ear, "plus anything is worth getting your father off the couch."
"Grandpa, do you wanna play twister with me?" Mickey requested.
"Another time kiddo." His granddad straightened his back just thinking about the board game. No thanks. "Where's the beer?"
"Dad, no!" Jessica warned.
"Braaaaaad!" His wife dragged the syllable to emphasize her anger, her blue green eyes glaring at him.
"Just one beer." He bargained.
"Not until Nick comes back." Jessica stated.
"Tch! Fine!" He tsked and turned to sit on the couch before Mickey sat next to him, while the boy talked to his grandfather about board games and fun things, the women talked.
Outside of the house, a black car was parked four houses across from Nick's. Two men wearing black attire, one of them in black gi and ninja mask while the was wearing a black tuxedo, all black including the gloves, socks, footwear and the case that held the ether.
They got out of the car as the man in dark gi grabbed the equipment from the trunk, a drone, 6 devices akin to the shape of a miniature speaker, and a humidifier for the ether.
Nick got off from work to go grab a drink, as he got into the car, he untied his tie and threw inside the glove compartment. Turning on the gas, he drove in reverse to leave the parking lot.
Tim, Greg and Justin were getting off of their shifts from their respective jobs. Tim worked at an antique store and took a day off from his second job as a programmer. Greg worked as an uber driver and finished dropping off a teenage couple from the mall, and Justin was a developer from a computer company.
Jessica heard the doorbell ring. "Excuse me." She opened the door while her parents paid attention to their grandson.
The man in black gi brought the 6 devices while the man in a black suit used the drone to carry the humidifier that contained the ether. The accomplice looked through the laptop screen inside his car as he reported the man in black gi regarding the perimeter via bluetooth.
"After you place the amps below the windows. I need you to sneak into the house and open the boy's window." The accomplice instructed.
"Roger that."
The pizza delivery guy parked his car nearby. The accomplice spotted him as he moved the drone towards the pizza delivery guy as the deviced hovered, carrying the humidifier.
The accomplice had to time it perfectly in order for the humidifier to spray the ether, in prder for the pizza guy to fall asleep. The drone hovered inches away from the pizza delivery guy, with a spritz, the pizza guy got drowsy. His eyelids closed as his body dropped down to the pavement with a thud.
The guy in black gi finished setting the six miniature amplifiers and spotted his associate taking off his best. "What is he doing?" He said in an indignant tone. He sneaked around when he saw him search the pockets of the unconscious pizza guy.
"What the hell are you doing?!" He berated his associate in a hushed tone.
"Taking my only chance to sneak in." He took out the car keys that belonged to the pizza guy. Help me put him inside the trunk and drive so that they don't see him.
Nick already ordered his coffee and he was reaching halfway home while he waited for the stoplight to turn green. Elsewhere, Tim, Greg and Justin headed to Nick's house. The guests that were in Nick's were chatting or looking at their phones while Mickey begged his mom to let him practice beating the piñata. "C'mon mom pleeeeease."
"No Mickey, not until your dad comes back from work." Jessica reminded him.
"Please mom, I promise that I won't break anything." He pleaded.
"Go to the couch with your grandpa." Jessica said to him, as he was dismissed. The boy pouted, crossed his arms and walked up to the couch to sit next to his grandfather.
"It's not fair!" The boy muttered as he furrowed his eyebrows into a scowl.
"You and me both kiddo." Brad stated as he slowly glanced at his wife while she talked to one of the relatives. He eyed the fanny pack that had the cup holster with his beer, unopened. His prize held hostage.
He then looked at his grandson and laid his arm at the board of the couch as he leaned in as if he was going to tell a secret. "No piñata for you and no beer for me. Guess that we have to wait dor daddy dearest to come home for his b-day." The doorbell rang.
"I'll get it." Mickey's granddad, Brad, let out a nearly inaudible groan as he sat up to open the door expecting Nick to be on the other side of the door. Unfortunately, no beer, but at least there was pizza.
"Delivery." The imposter announced as he entered the door.
"Pizza!" Mickey shouted. Perfect, the target was in sight. Too easy.
The man with curly black hair held the cardboard with hot pizza pepperoni and cheese. Nick's wife approached him and brought the money to pay for the three pizzas. After the exchange, he requested to use the bathroom.
"Is right down the hall." Jessica told him. The imposter entered the bathroom and sent a text to his associate.
The guy in black gi received the text.
[Move the drone.]
After the impostor sent the text Jessica shouted at her son. "Mickey! Put the stick down!"
The imposter opened the the bathroom door and saw that the guests were distracted, their eyes focused on the boy. He opened door to door to find Mickey's bedroom, and when he found it, he opened the lock of the window as the drone brought the drone along with the humidifier and left at the nightstand for it to take effect when the boy enters into a deep sleep.
PRESENT DAY ⌚
Nick finds the humidifier on the night stand. He saw that the humidifier full of ether nearly reached halfway of its use. With a spray of the ether, Nick fell asleep in his son's bed.
