"Chapter 4; the wand chooses the wizard"

The air was cool and the sky was red one Saturday morning in the underworld as Mal ran around with her little brother and some of the dead children that lingered in the underworld. She was 10 (almost 11) and Hadie was 2 (almost 3), and they were staying with their father for the weekend-- their father, who was "busy".

Since Hades was busy running around and doing his job of running the underworld, he had left his giant Cerberus -- who Mal fondly nicknamed spot-- in charge of watching both of hid kids and making sure none of the dead folk tried anything. None of them had, but Spot was taking his job very seriously-- not taking his eyes off of the tiny demigods. Or well, not taking his eyes off of them until he saw it-- a small, flying ball of blue smoke with what appeared to be eyes.

He chased after it, barking loudly-- drawing Hadie's attention. The toddler giggled and chased after him, leaving an oblivious Mal behind. The little girl was spray painting a wall-- after growing bored of playing with the dead kids and her brother-- when a blue portal opened up beneath her feet.

The demigoddess let out a high pitched scream as she fell through it, dropping her paint cans which clanged as they hit the ground where Mal had been not a second before. Spot ran back over, but it was too late. There was no sign of Mal other than her spray cans.

"Ow!" Mal whined as she landed on the hard, gravelly ground. It was so dark that she couldn't even see her hand infront of her own face. "Where am I?" Her voice echoed, giving her a vague idea of the answer.

'Maybe I'm in a cave?'

"What am I doing here?" She asked allowed, not expecting an answer. And she didn't get one. Not really. All that happened was a glowing blue path appearing infront of her. Mal sighed, pushing herself up-- barely able to see anything at all.

"Well, this is probably a trap, but I'll go along with it because I don't have any other choice"

She marched forward-- down the path, looking around. Desperately trying to see what was going on with no luck whatsoever.

After what felt like forever, she stumbled a upon a dark room with weapons. Intricately crafted and designed weapons that were suspended in mind air, illuminated by a faint light. Mal hesitantly moved forward, looking around for traps and other dangers. She found none, even when she got close to the weapons. Even when she picked one up.

It was a long, jagged sword with a light green blade and a purple dragon handle. The words 'O drákos Pou anapnéefotía' were engraved in the blade, strangely neat, and she got a strange feeling when she picked it up.

The world seemed to slow down as the wind picked up, the air got hotter, and blue flames surrounded her-- sending her back to the underworld, where her father immediately pounced on her. Asking where she had been for the past hour.

Meanwhile, the dark one's 10 year old son slept soundly--- tucked snuggling in his bed, hugging his stuffed ox close to his chest. He was unaware of the strange, small, smokey creature that slipped through the cracks in his window that was currently floating over his head. He continued to sleep soundly until---- woosh, a portal opened up beneath him and sucked him in, which woke him instantly.

"MAMAN! PAPA!" Ben screeched terrified as he plummeted to the ground.

"Ow" he whined, stumbling up weakly. He had just transformed the night before and he was still sore, ill, and exhausted from it. So the fall had hurt alot worse than it usually would have.

"W-where am I? Maman? Papa?" The ten year old called out once again and got no response. His lip quivered and his knees felt like jelly as he stumbled around in the dark.

"Hello? Anybody?" A light blue path light up in front of him, leading in one direction and one direction only. He saw this as him having no choice. He had to follow the path or stay there and pray that his papa would find him. Which could take forever.

His throat went dry as he shakily forced himself to move forward. Ben knew if he didn't go forward, he could very well be trapped there forever and ever, and he did not want that at all. Just as he was starting to wonder if the path he had taken was endless, a dark, barely illuminated room became visible.

Tweleve weapons floated in mid air over tweleve of the thirteen rock pilers-- illuminatd by faint blue lights that seemed to be coming out of absolutely nowhere.

"Oh my God" he breathed out in shock as his jaw hit the floor. He felt a strange pull towards one of the weapons and stumbled toward it without thinking, immediately picking it up. It was a long dagger with a blue and gold handle that had a beast on the blade .

The words 'Celui qui voit la fin des batailles' were engraved in the sharp, rose tinted blade of the dagger and Ben felt the need to run his fingers over it. Time slowed down as the wind picked up and he got a warm feeling in his chest -- right as the portal that took him opened up beneath his feet and sent him plummeting into his soft, squishy bed.

Birds were chirping and it was bright outside and he no longer felt tired."Oh thank god. It was all just a dream. Just a bad, bad dream" he sighed, smiling as he plopped back and stuck his hand under his pillow.

His smile quickly turned into a frown when he felt something cold and heavy under his pillow. Ben quickly yanked it out and paled when he saw that it was the dagger from his 'dream'.

"MAMAN!" He shrieked fearfully, scrambling to his feet.

Lonnie was running through the village, chasing after dog and laughing loudly. She was a bright and bubbly little girl, and her laugh always managed to brighten the atmosphere of the village. She was the fastest kid in the village and loved to show it off.

Unfortunately, now was one of those times, and she wasn't able to skid to a stop in time to prevent her from falling through a blue portal that opened up infront of her with no warning. The kids around screamed bloody murder as it swallowed her whole and her dog barked, circling the area where the portal had just closed up as adults started to run over to see what was going on. But it was too late; Lonnie was already gone.

"Weeeeee!" Lonnie squealed as she plummeted to the ground-- landing on her feet. "Wow Mushu, it's dark in here?" She held her arms out, trying to find a wall or something to hold onto but to no avail. The 10 year old let out a sigh before speaking to no one in particular "can someone please turn on the lights? I can't see anything in here"

To her surprise, her wish was granted when a blue path appeared-- illumating the room. "Ok, weird, but thank you" the little girl said--a bit weirded out -- moving down the path without a second thought.

Her lack of fear in this situation might seem off putting to most people, but Lonnie really didn't see any reason to be. She felt strangely calm. She somehow knew that she wouldn't be harmed here, which is why she didn't hesitate at all about waltzing into the room with the weapons.

Hell, sne even thought the fact that the weapons were floating was cool. One particular weapon caught her eye-- drawing her towards it. It was a blue handled katana with a golden, pink tinted blade that was sharp as tack and had the words 'Jūnrén de qíngfù'.

"Uh, I'm gonna borrow this" Lonnie called out over her shoulder before picking up the blade. Griping it in her hand, turning it in her palms-- trying to commit every inch of the blade to memory before she inevitably had to part with it. She once again failed to notice a portal opening behind her and fell back into it, katana griped tightly in her hand.

It sent her plummeting to the ground of her village, where her frantic family was searching for her. When asked where she went, Lonnie just shrugged and said "I dunno know"

The sun was setting in Wonderland and the 10 year old son of Jafar, Jay, was jumping from giant mushroom to giant mushroom. A giant, strangely colored, smoking Caterpillar sat on one of the mushrooms near by, watching the mischievous, laughing, lone child.

He noticed the blue ball of fire thaat was whizzing around Jay before Jay did, but didn't say anything about it. It wasn't his problem or his business after all. The boy wasn't his kid. He didn't even know the kid's name, so why he try and warn him when the light was probably harmless?

"Weee! Ya whoooo!" Jay cheered, jumping on the mushrooms with a big smile on his face. "This is aw--- AHHH!" His laughter turned to a startled scream as he slipped off the mushroom and fell through a blue portal-- unable to stop himself.

Jay groaned, rubbing his head as he sat up and looked around.

"Hey, who turned out the lights?" The young Agrabian asked, fumbling around and the path appeared once again-- like it had for the children before him. Not that he knew that.

"Ooo cool. Maybe I can find something cool to ste-- barrow forever" Jay commented, correcting himself as he ran down the path and found the weapons room.

A black and red handled, golden snake dagger caught his eye immediately and he knew that he just had to have it! Especially when he saw the words engraved in the blade... 'Althueban aladhi yaslikh jildah'. This dagger was absolutely perfect for him and it wasn't even guarded.

Jay quickly grabbed it with a smirk on his lips and snorted when nothing happened.

"Man, it's almost like the owner of this place wants their weapons stolen " a mischievous smile etched itself into his features as an idea hit him.

He could take them all-- No one was here to stop him after all.

He strode over to a shiney blue sword and tried to take it-- only for it to send him flying back into a wall as a loud alarm went off.

"Owww" he rubbed his head, before looking around "was that really necessary?" The only response he got was a portal opening beneath his butt, causing him to plummet back to Wonderland.

He landed on a mushroom and bounced off, landing on his face with the dagger in his hand. Thankfully, the only thing that got injured was his face and his pride-- especially when the high Caterpillar stopped smoking to laugh at him.

"Oh shut up, Absalom" Jay spat, pushing himself up. His nose was bleeding, his cheek was scraped, and he was glaring harshly at the Caterpillar, who just kept laughing.

Uma was sitting on the beach in her best dress, building an elegant sandcastle that stretched up high above her. She wasn't supposed to really be there -- her mother had told her several times that she wasn't allowed up on the surface world, but she never really listened. She couldn't. She loved the air and the smell of the surface and the freedom it brought. So she always found a way to sneak up on the surface and stay for a bit.

She didn't notice the little wisp approaching her as she used seaweed, crab legs, and sea shells to decorate her sandcastle. And she didn't notice the portal open up behind her when she stood up to admire her work.

She immediately fell back into the portal and landed in the cave like the others before her. "Hey! What the heck?" She yelled up at the sky where thr portal had been. "Where am I? Who did this?!" She got up and searched for a way of escape-- only to get blinded by the blue light of the path that she was standing on.

"OW! A little warning would have been nice!" The demigoddess yelped annoyed, stumbling forward with her hands over her eyes. Trying to shield them from the light that grew fainter at her complaint.

After the pain in her eyes subsided, she removed her hands and continued on her way. Which lead to her eventually finding the room full of weapons.

"Wow.. what is this place?" She wondered to herself as she took a few steps toward one of them.

It was black and gold handled saber with a teal, crooked blade and a crafted blue seashell that separated the blade from the handle. It had the words 'behorend tot de spawn van de zeeën ' engraved in the blade, which only served to peek Uma's curiosity further.

She approached it and grabbed it, slowly pulling it away from the pedastal it was on. She gave it a quick once over and ran her fingers over the blade, before making her way to the exit "I think I'm gonna keep you"

As soon as Uma stepped through the door, she was back on the beach as if she had never left.

A seagull was stealing the crab legs off of her sandcastle and her mother was calling for her from the water.

The sword was still griped firmly in her hands, being one of the only indications that she had been gone....

"coming mom!" The ten year old called out, shaking off the questions that were bouncing around her head. She would figure out what had happened to her later, she decided as she ran towards the water. She had all the time in the world to do do, after all...

👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾👾

"I hate you! You always do this!" Evie cried, stomping her feet. Something that really wasn't a flattering thing for princess to do--- especially at 10 years old.

Her mother had woken her up earlier, saying that they were gonna spend the day together and Evie had been so excited that she hadn't questioned what exactly they'd be doing.

They were hunting for Snow white and her family again. Something that her mother knew she hated with every fiber of her being yet she decided that it would be the perfect activity for them to do.

"Oh come on, Evelyn, don't be like that--" Regina said, looking like she had been slapped as she reached for her daughter.

Evie shoved her "no! I HATE you! You only care about your self and no one else! You really are as evil as they say!" The evil Queen's eyes widened significantly, as her face fell. She looked hurt but Evie didn't care and kept going.

"If there was a way to kill Snow white and her family by sacrificing me, you'd do it in a heartbeat! I bet it's the only reason you even had me!"

That final sentence snapped Regina out of her stunned stupor and she reached for her again."that's not true! How can you say such a horrible thing and we do not hit--"

Evie dodged the swipe and dashed off into the forest.

The black knights stood by, watching-- too stunned to move. This did not make Regina happy.

"WHAT ARE YOU ALL JUST STANDING AROUND FOR?! GO GET HER YOU BLITHERING IDIOTS!" the angry mother ordered heatedly, causing the knights to scramble off after the little girl who they had already lost sight of.

Not knowing that a portal had sucked her up already....

Evie cried on the ground for a few moments before getting up and walking down the glowing path, still crying silently.

All she could think about was the fact that her mother clearly didn't love her enough to stop trying to ruin the life of her stepsister for something she did when she was ten. How stupid and petty was that? Why couldn't she just be mad at her grandmother for being cruel and her grandfather for being spineless? Why did she have to punish everyone around her?

A small gasp escaped her when she spotted the prettist thing she had ever seen... it was a handmade, wooden bow as red as a rubby with blue tape wrapped around the middle and a collection of matching arrows with an engraving in it, floating above a stone pedestal. Illuminatd by a faint blue light.

Next thing she knew, Evie was right infront of them-- carefully lifting them into her arms to get a closer look at them. The words in the bow were much clearer now and read 'Künigreich Erbe Mit dem wahisten ziel' the bow felt so weightless in her hands and it was so pretty.

"Wow... it's beautiful..." the bluenette breathed, smiling for the first time since that morning. She spotted a portal approaching her and stepped forward, keeping a tight grip on the bow and the arrows.

"Can you send me somewhere else please? I really don't want to see my mom right now" she asked politely and the light grew brighter in response, and she stepped through.

She smiled when she found herself in the woods across from a castle-- a place she didn't recognize. Which meant it wasn't anywhere near her home and her mother. She was finally free....

🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷

"Chad! Stop!" Doug (10) called out frantically running after his friend, also 10, with his 9 year old cousin, Jane, right behind him.

They had been playing in the woods when Chad had spotted a smokey blue thing that waved at them and started running after it-- like the senseless, curious prince he was.

"I don't think this is a good idea!" He stopped running and doubled over, panting, causing Jane to run into him.

Chad ignored him, like always, and kept running after. A portal opened up beneath the two of them and they fell through it, landing on Chad who had already fallen through it.

"Ow! That hurt!" The blonde whined, causing Jane to hop up, squeaking out sorry over and over again. When Doug didn't immediately follow, Chad shoved him off himself.

"Ow!" Doug echoed, rubbing his head "guys please don't start" Jane pleaded, fear clear as day in her voice.

"Don't worry Janey, if that thing wanted to hurt us, it would have done it already" the prince said, trying to be reassuring. "But it's so dark in here"

"What if it's not the same thing that sent us here?" The other boy asked, causing Jane to start crying.

"Doug!" Chad hissed, wacking him in the arm.

"Ow! How did you even know my arm was there?" He cried indignantly.

"I didn't. I was aiming for your head" Jane's crying got louder as they started bickering and shrieked when a path lit up.

Chad jumped up, stick in hand.

"Who's there? Show yourselves! You made my friend cry!" He received no response.

"Chad, don't threaten them! You're gonna make them mad " Jane hissed tearfully, "maybe it's motion activated ?" Doug suggested trying to calm the tension.

"What's does that even mean?" The other boy asked puzzled, lowering the stick and tilting his head in confusion.

"It means that the light was probably triggered by us moving around and turned it's self on" Doug explained, dumbing it down a bit so Chad would understand it.

"Oh" Chad was suddenly very thankful that it was so dark in the room, because if it hadn't been.. his friends would have seen how red he had gotten. "That makes sense"

Jane glanced at the path, eyes still teary.

"Should we .. follow it?" She asked hesitantly and fearful as her eyes scanned the room.

"What?" Her companions asked confused, having not seen her glance at it.

"The path. Should we follow it?" The brunette repeated a bit exasperated.

Doug and Chad looked at eachother in the dark, knowing that Jane would likely go along with whatever they decided.

It was silent for a few moments before Doug sighed and reluctantly spoke up, saying what his friend was clearly thinking "well, it's not like we have a choice in the matter. It's probably our only way out"

The three of them looked at eachother and swallowed heavily, hesitantly moving towards the path together and locking hands before continuing forward.

Jane was in the middle of Chad and Doug -- the older boys made sure of it, wanting to keep her safe since they didn't know what they were getting into.

They all had different reactions upon spotting the room; Jane gasped, Doug gaped, and Chad ran forward with a wide smile. "Cool! Guys, guys come look at this stuff!"

"Chad, I don't think that's a good id--" Doug tried to reason, cutting himself off when the blonde picked up a weapon anyway.

It was long, sharp, and completely blue with a circle at the end of it's handle.

Doug sighed and locked eyes with Jane, who looked just as exasperated as he was "he never listens" the cousins said in sync before hesitantly moving forward-- hoping that this wouldn't get them killed.

"Wow, cool! It has words in the knife part!" Chad exclaimed excitedly, examining the blade.

"Really?" Jane asked curiously, glancing back at her cousin who was also curious.

"What does it say?" Doug asked, staying a safe distance away from their trigger happy friend-- not trusting the boy to be careful enough with it.

"Dest-iné au grand r-roi" the prince said, sounding the words out with a furrowed brow. "Werid, what do you think it means?"

"I don't know but these two pickaxes have words in them too" Doug said, handing the pickaxe with a blue tinted steel head to Jane.

He kept the one with green tinted steel for himself "And our names, too"   He was right.

Jane's real name, 'Jehanne ' , was carved into the handle and Douglas was carved in his.

"Weird. Do you think they've been watching us? Whoever owns this place?" Chad asked tilting his head as he looked at the weapons in their hands. None of them noticed yet another portal opening beneath their feet until they feel through and landed back home.

Little 10 year old Audrey was sitting on her bed at her grandmother's castle, scowling with crossed arms.

She got banished to her room for arguing with her grandmother about giving up the search for her parents-- Her parents who had barely been missing for a month and hadn't been happy when Audrey refused to take no for an answer.

So they had gotten in a screaming fit, which had lead to her ordering the guards to drag her to her room and lock her there.

Which only served to make Audrey angrier-- She couldn't believe that she use to like that witch. She had been trying to think of an escape out of there for hours.

So when the wisp appeared by her window and waved her over, she had no quams about following it into the portal it opened. "Where are we?' Audrey asked it when they landed in the cave.

The only response she got was the wisp waving her forward before flying off down an illuminated path. The princess followed without hesitation-- the thing had gotten her out of the room of doom, so why would she hesitate?

"Wow, what is all this?" The brunette exclaimed in amazement as soon as she entered the nearly empty weapon's room.

The blue ball of fire whizzed over to one of weapons--  a long, thin, light brown staff with roses and thorns carved into the wood, which were painted over afterwards. It had the words 'la grâcè salvatrice de la malheureuse reine' carved into it as well.

It was a downright beautiful weapon in Audrey's opinion, which is why she didn't stop herself from approaching. She stared at the weapon with longing,  eyes darting toward the wisp that watched her expectantly.

"Is this for me?" She asked hopeful, tilting her head to the side. The creature nodded and Audrey picked up the staff, running her fingers along it with a smile.

She had always wanted a weapon but her grandmother had always thrown a fit whenever her parents had even hinted at the idea. And now she had one.

She heard the portal open and frowned, turning to the creature. "Aww do I have to go?"

The wisp tilted her head, looking almost.. sad.. and nodded it's head, causing her to sigh.

"Fine. I'll go" she slumped her shoulders, before heading toward the portal.

She glanced back behind her before stepping into the portal and said "goodbye and thank you little one" she stepped forward into the portal and found herself outside of her grandmother's castle.

Upon realizing that she wasn't locked in her room anymore, Audrey smiled and ran into the forest-- trying to get way from the castle before anyone realized she was gone.

Captain Hook walked through the market of a small village with his son in toe. His daughters weren't feeling well and he was picking up some supplies so he could treat them properly and took Harry so he wouldn't catch whatever they had. His mini-me looked around the village  with wonder filled eyes-- he rarely ever left the ship, so everytime he did it was basically a treat to him. Especially since he loved seeing new things.

Killian suddenly stopped walking and turned around to face Harry, letting go of his hand. "I need my hand free so I can carry what we buy, lad. Can I trust you to stay by me?" Harry nodded, smiling widely as he saluted him.

"Aye aye captain!" Killian smiled at him, shaking his head "that a boy. Now stay close" 10 minute later, Harry was standing by one of the market stalls, looking bored as his dad argued with the healer who was reluctant to sell a pirate medical supplies-- for any reason.

Harry shifted nervously, sensing his father's anger growing and swallowed heavily.

He prayed his dad didn't hurt the man, even if he was a meanie. He didn't like it when his dad did bad things-- he knew his dad didn't like doing bad things either, no matter how much he pretended to.

Harry didn't understand why his dad had to pretend to be such a bad guy when he wasn't. He didn't know why his father refused to become a better man-- refused to become the man Harry and his sisters knew he could be.

Killian clenched his fist , leaning forward over the stall  and glaring harshly at the man before grabbing him "Now listen here you bloody--"

Harry swallowed and snuck off-- not wanting to see or hear what his father was gonna next. He spotted a small, floating creature that resembled a blue flame and gasped.

"A wisp" the ten year old whispered in awe, moving farther and farther away from his father and the healer's stall as he tried to catch the creature.

Not noticing that it was leading him into the woods until he caught it "Gotcha!"  He declared, smiling triumphantly. That smile was quickly wiped off the boy's face as a portal opened up beneath him, sucking  Harry in.

"DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADDDDDY!" Harry screamed in terrror as he landed on the ground of a dark cave. He hated the dark.

"Daddy! Daddy where are you?!" The small pirate cried out, stumbling to his feet and feeling around-- desperately wanting his father to come and save him. But he didn't.

He began to breath heavily as he bolted-- straight into a wall, causing him to fall backwards and scrape up his hands. Tears welled up in his eyes.

"LET ME OUT!" he screamed at the wisp, shaking as he swung at it.

It flew out from under his hand and disappeared, causing the room to plunge into complete darkness. "No no no! Come back ! I'm sorry! Please don't leave me!" Harry cried, pushing himself up shakily.

The wisp didn't come back and the path didnt lit up-- leaving the small pirate to wander around in the dark. Covered in mud, blood, and his own pee -- he had wet himself on the way down but he'd never admit it.

"Help! Someone help!" He sobbed, feeling like he was trapped in one of his hallucinations again-- only this time his dad wasn't there to pull him out of it.

He stumbled around in the dark for what felt like forever, feeling around for something-- hoping to find a way out. And eventually, he did find something to grab on to-- something sharp that cut open his palm, calming him to yelp.

He cried out almost letting go of the sword as a portal opened up, dropping him back into  the woods.

Harry didn't waste anytime and jumped to his feet as soon as he hit the ground. His heart was racing, his body ached, and his hands and knees were all bruised and skinned up -- bleeding profusely.

Grabbing the sword so he'd have proof of what had happened when he returned to his worried father, he bolted back in the direction from whence he came. Hoping with every bone in his body that his dad hadn't left without him. He didn't want to be alone.

On his way back to market, he saw a girl with light brown hair in a pretty pink dress running from a trio of knights and felt a pang of sympathy for her.

He didn't know why she was running from them but he could tell that she was afriad of them and that made Harry sad and a bit mad. He knew she was most likely in trouble with them and that he should continue on his way without interfering but he didn't. He just felt like he couldn't do it.

So, against the boy's better judgment, he stopped running and hid behind a tree as they drew closer and he waited. The moment the girl passed him, he pulled out a bang of old marbles and threw them in the path-- causing the knights to slip and land on their backsides.

Harry smiled slightly, feeling proud of himself before continuing on his way to the market-- his spirits now lightened despite the trauma he had indoored and the fact that his favorite toys where now gone.  He ran back to where his father was, sword in hand and flung himself at him-- fighting back tears as his father's attention returned to him.

"Who the bloody hell did that to you?!"

🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️

"Junior? Bronze? Guys? Where are you?" Little 9 year old, Gil  called out as he wandered through the woods. Barefoot and shirtless, looking for his two older brothers who he had been racing only moments before. "Can we please go home? I'm cold and my feet hurt! " The blonde moved forward with caution as his heart beat rapidly in his chest.

He had never liked being alone out in the woods-- he wasn't supposed to be out in the woods alone.

Their parents had strictly forbid them from going into the woods without an adult and he didn't like disobeying his parents.

Not since his uncles told him the legend of  Père Fouettard.

He went where saint Nicholas did and left naughty children charcoal instead of sweets or worse -- he beat them with a whip or a bag of coal. And what Gil was doing, on the night he was supposed to come, was most definitely naughty.

He was racing his brothers in the snow, through the woods without his shirt and shoes on.

Oh he was definitely gonna get a visit from Père Fouettard this year if he didn't hurry back. Biting his lip, Gil decided that he was gonna head back home now-- maybe if he confessed to his parents his wrong doings, he wouldn't be naughty anymore.

The blonde took a deep breath, closed his eyes, and turned back -- falling straight through the portal that had opened up behind him. The only thing Gil remembered after that was waking up in his bed to his mother pressing a warm rag to his head.

An orange and yellow bow and arrow grasped tightly in his hands, with the faint words 'Chasseur de la hiérarchie'
carved into the  bow.

His father had been pacing and his brothers, cousins, uncles, and aunts all looked like they had been crying for awhile.

Turns out, Gil had been out for a week with an awful fever after they had found him unconscious in the river with the bow in his hand.

He didn't remember how he had gotten there or where the bow had come from. Gil never went into the woods alone like that ever again-- terrified that Père Fouettard would come for him once again.

Little Carlos de Vil wandered through a dark cave with a small frown on his face. Scrunching up his face as he followed the glowing path, wondering what that blue thing was that saved him when he had fallen through his bedroom window.

He also wondered why it had chosen to send him here and why it even bothered to save him in the first place. He was a very bright for a 9 year old and knew that the creature had to have a reason for saving a kid it didn't know.

However the creature's reasoning escaped him like the creature had , and his attention was drawn elsewhere when he entered the weapon's room. There was only one weapon left in the room but as far as Carlos knew, it had always been the only weapon im the room.

The boy strode over to it with a curious smile and stood on his tippy toes, grabbing the weapin. It was a small, thin slingshot made of black-spotted, white wood with a red stretchy string attached.

It felt light in his hands and Carlos felt a strange warmth in his chest as he examined it, and found the words 'graçon qui tient la gâchette' carved into the handle.

The whole moment felt surreal, even as he feel through the portal and landed back in his room. After that night, he'd be left wondering what exactly had happened to him and he wasn't alone in that regard.

Each and every member of the Choatic thirteen was left reeling
from their experience with the wisp. They were all left wondering what had happened to them and they were all determined to find an answer-- Something that would take them all a very long time to find....

(Hey guys, sorry this chapter took so long to get out and sorry it's so long. After this, I'll splitting the chapters up to make them a bit shorter. Sorry in advance and I hope that's okay. And sorry this one was so repetitive. Hope you enjoyed).
