The next day I had to go to work. I felt terrible leaving Bella by herself, and truthfully I didn't want to go, but I had to.I spent 2 and a half hours trying to find a way to tell Bella that I had to leave. I was up all night thinking about what happened yesterday. I didn't mean to kiss her, or take off her shirt and bra, or fondle her breasts, it just happened. I lost control for the first time in 300 years. That made me feel almost as terrible as kissing Bella.

When she came downstairs, dressed in black, it made me think that she was going to a funeral. She smiled uncomfotably as she passed on the way to the kitchen. I followed, bitting my lip. Standing at the door watching Bella make some eggs for herself made me feel terrible, especially with the awkwardness that went on yesterday.

“Bella,” I started, “I have something I need to tell you.”

Before I could tell her though, she said, “I have an idea of what we can do today. A few weeks ago I heard Jacob and his friends talking about cliff diving. So I was thinking that maybe we could go cliff diving.”

It completely broke me. She looked happy and excited. I couldn't break her spirits like that. I smiled and nodded against my better judgement. The wolf pack wouldn't take kindly to me on their land especially with the treaty, but I couldnt' say no to Bella with everything that she's been through this week.

“Sounds great. I'll-- I'll go get ready,” I said walking out of the room with a smile. After telling the ER that I couldn't make it in after all, I changed clothes. I still felt odd whenever Bella smiled at me or even looked at me, but I didn't know what I was feeling.

Bella was waiting by the door when I came back down. She looked real excited, but with something else there.“Do you mind if we take my truck?” She asked awkwardly.

“No, let's get going,” I said, opening the door.

I let Bella drive since she was in such a good mood and didnt want to spoil it. When we got there I let her go first since she really wanted to try it. She looked so beautiful in the light as she jumped. I watched carefully, making sure she was alright before jumping. It didnt have the same effect on me as it did Bella, but I was happy to be with her.

In the water, I resurfaced facing a beaming Bella. It made me smile. As the waves pushed us closer together, her eyes told me something that I couldn't fugure out, her heart was beating twice as fast. Then our lips touched and for the first time in 300  years I felt warmth. I pulled her coler to me, deepening the kiss. She let out a low growl that made the animal in me want to pounce on her, but I held back. I didnt want to scare her. This kiss felt just as passionate as yesterday.

When we broke apart, Bella was panting. I would be too if I was still a human. Then I smelled them and seconds later I saw them. They were running to the shore shirtless, a growl in their throats. Pulling Bella close to me and making for shore, I prepared for the worse.

“Bella, whatever happens, don't leave my side,” I told her quietly.

She looked at me with confused eyes but nodded in agreement. When we were able to stand I kept a hand around her waist and stood there with the water washing around our hips. I looked at Bella and couldn't resist the temptation to kiss her once more. She kissed back like we didnt have an audience; like we had been kissing for years.

“You're on our territorry, bloodsucker,” The tall one said calmly. He had a commanding voice, making me think that he was Alpha.

“I am sorry. Bella wanted to cliff dive. She heard her friend Jacob telling his friends about it a few weeks ago. This is the first time she has been able to try it,” I explained calmly. Bella's heart was pounding so loud I could swear the wolves heard it.

Then a wolf stepped out of the mist. His face was shocked, yet angry. He stepped towards Bella in disbelief.

“Bella!”

“Jacob.”

I pulled Bella closer to me. Jacob was visibly angry and I didn't want him to accidently hurt her. Bella looked from the pack to me in confusion. She wasn't dumb. She knew something was going on, but was also smart enough not to ask right now. She just stared at the wolves abs in shock and perhaps amazment.

“Don't let it happen again,” The Alpha said warningly.

I nodded and lead Bella away. I could feel Jacob's eyes on us the entire time. Behind us I heard someone say, “Sam, what is she doing with him? Do you think he'll break the treaty?”

Yes, but not until she's totally ready. And you guys wont know about it. Hopefully. As we walked to the truck, Bella kept looking back at Jacob. He was still rooted to the spot, seriously pissed. I let her drive again, thinking about what happened yesterday and today. I was really falling for her, and I shouldn't be.

When we were within a few hundred yards from the house, Bella stopped the truck. I watched her turn the truck off and look at me expectantly. I groaned and thought for a minute how I was going to tell her about the wolves.

“Bella, there isn't just vampires in the world. There are also werewoves. Vampires and Werewoves are natural enemies,” I started,” Those people we met, including Jacob, are werewolves. We can't go onto their territorry because of this treaty we have with them, or rather their grandparents. If we stay off their land, then they won't expose who we are to humans, and they won't hunt us.”

Bella did a little double take, but didn't look totally freaked out. She was good with weird. I sat there watching her stare at a rabbit in the bushes. Part of me wanted to go get the rabbit, but I didn't. A few days ago I had a moose so I wouldn't need anything for at least a week. However, if I kept loosing control like this in front of Bella I'd need to feed every day.

I cleared my throat and said, “Bella, do you think we should go up to the house and talk about it?”
