I woke up at 4:36. I shifted back and woke up Quinn. I am an early riser, so it was kind of hard. After much nagging and threats, he got up. He had a shower surprisingly. I took mine before him because I'm a slow eater. I made myself cereal. I ate it as fast as I could. I ' wolfed' it down. Quinn came out of the shower. I walked outside with my backpack. I shifted and it stayed on. I had to walk fast to keep it on. I waited for Quinn/Benton to catch up. When he did, it was 5:47. We walked to the edge of the woods and shifted back. I walked to the bus stop and waited for 14 minutes . It occured to me a question I wanted to ask. " How does the village have Wifi?" " We have a guy that hooked up our internet", he said. "Oh', I said. The bus came later. I sat by Henry on the bus. " Why did you keep it from me?" I asked. " What did I keep from you?" he asked innocently. " You're a werewolf, I'm a shifter and an Alpha, is that enough evidence?" I asked, fully pissed off. " I didn't know that you were a shifter. I can tell now that Jax is out" he explained. " And about you not telling me you were a werewolf?" I asked, curious about what his motives were. " It was for your safety". I pondered over this. I mean at the time it would have freaked the shit out of me when he proved it. Before, I might have laughed and asked him to prove it. I sat in silence the rest of the way to school, thinking how crazy my life is. In math, a foreign student from Japan joined the school. His name was Eren. He understood English pretty well, but not perfect. He had a super smart friend named Armi or something like that. There was homework today. It was a full page of exponents. That was easy enough. Language Arts wasn't that eventful. Quinn made a joke about Jax quietly. He said " At least Jax is a Canadian like you". Jax probably wanted to rip his throat out. No homework for that class. Lunch, I found a table and ate a salmon sandwich. I bought those from the market. The bread still smelled fresh. I walked out and bolted for the courts. I jumped the fence and me and other people played wall-ball. In PE, there were tryouts for the track team. We had one of the best track teams in all of Oregon. They were strict and they expected perfection. Me and Quinn along with some others tried out, while the others watched and stretched. I tried out for the 400 meter dash. Their time range was 45 seconds to 1 minute. I finished in 45.32 seconds. I'm pretty sure I might have beat their record. Quinn tried for the high jump. He did place within their top 20. Science, was the place I got the most info. " That explained a lot " I said to Anika. " And before you ask, I'm not a werewolf, I'm a shifter." she answered. " Yeah", I scratched the back of my head, " I kinda figured". We talked about bone marrow. Last class, Social Studies. I can do this. Test is tommorrow. Don't need to study. We got study guides. The bell rang and I motioned for Quinn to follow me this time. I came home before my mom came home. Me and Quinn finished the exponents and waited to tell my mom that we were going to get dragonfly specimens for science. When we did, she let us go. When we were out the door, I turned to Quinn. " How am I going to get accepted?" I asked Quinn. " How am I supposed to know?" he questioned. We met up with Henry at the edge of the woods. I shifted and ran to the village. Then, I heard shouts. I looked behind me. There were police officers with cuffs around Henry. I saw Benton hiding behind a tree. I did the same. I heard gunshots. They didn't shoot Henry. Benton barked, " Alpha, RUN!!!". I ran as fast as I could through the woods. Twigs snapped and sticks were flung aside. My lungs were getting pushed to the limit. I hid in the foliage. Being a gray wolf didn't help either. I saw the men pass by. They were getting too close to the village. I barked from behind a patch of grass. He turned and shot in my direction. I heard Benton making a distraction. He told me to run when I heard the shots. He jumped out and zig-zagged around the bullets. I ran unoticed to the village to warn everyone. " Everyone shift and run quickly, the police are coming!!" I barked the order. Everyone did, thanks for that. Benton came to me and we hid in the tall grass surrounding the village. They couldn't find us. They gave up. They had Henry. They got all they needed. Benton was not hurt. My acception was today too. I might as well make the best of it. Henry was the only person who actually knew how to do it. We tried our best to pluck a wolf hair from everyone except Tetra of course. I had too spit on it too verify that I accepted. I'm pretty sure that's not how it works. And then, I had to learn the names of everyone. I had to be Jax the entire time. The first person was Emma. A regular with a scar on it's face was named Kaiden. We had a 'were-fox' named Luke in human and fox. Then, Anika and Olixa. Philip and Gabe. Gage and Xaz. Ike and Eliwood. Harene and Zack. Too many to remember. A lot more people came up. I don't remember their names. Now that I think about it, Luke looked like that fox that was hit by the dart. After the festivities, I went home without incident.
