Kendra looked at Seth and took a deep breath. She couldnt take a boat to the fairy queen as the lake was ice so her and Seth were going to walk across. Seth wouldnt go on the island obviously but he'd just make sure Kendra was ok. She smiled at him and took his hand.

"You're ok right?" Seth asked as they stepped onto the ice. 

"Yeah, just walking across ice over a pool of deadly naiads going to talk to my boyfriend that never has time for anything and tell him im going to another world and might never come back. Just fine. . ." Kendra said sacastically. Seth squeezed her hand reassuringly. He'd actually grown up more then she thought. He was still stupid most of the time but he was growing up. Kendra felt slightly better and walked faster, but still carefully. She was on ice after all. They reached the island, Seth remained on the ice and Kendra got on the island. She looked at him and he walked quickly back to the other side where everyone else was. Kendra could hear Newel and Doren, and then she heard Jason and Rachel yell something. Grandma must have given them a sip of milk.

Kendra took a deep breath and knelt in front of the fairy queens shrine. "Bracken, your highness? My Grandfather sent me to infrom you on some changes at Fablehaven. . ." Kendra said softly as she looked at the shrine. She could then feel the queens presence and she could hear Bracken's voice.

"Is everything ok?" He asked first. Kendra tried not to get distracted but she wanted to see him.

"As of right now it is. But I was in the woods earlier today. . ." She trailed off, hesitant to tell him.

"What is it Kendra?" He asked and then she couldnt just feel his presence, he was actualy there. She looked at him and kind of smiled. She paused and decided not to tell him about that part.

"I found a portal." She said, she ouldnt tell him about her powers just yet.

"To where?" He asked as his face fell. He took Kendra's hand and looked worried.

"Lyrain. . ." She said slowly.

"No, you arent going there." He said as he stood up, bringing Kendra up with him. She couldnt feel the queen there anymore, which meant if the queen had an opinion on it, she wouldnt hear it.

'Mother I refuse to let her go, it's the worst option, you know what it's like there!' Bracken thought, he didnt know Kendra could hear him clearly.

'Im going to go where I want and you arent going to stop me!' Kendra thought harshly. He looked directly at her.

'You can hear my thoughts without kneeling at the shrine?' He asked then it sturck him and he let go of her hand. 'You're one of them. . . you have Edomic. . . Kendra. . .' He trailed off in thought and sighed. He turned around, his back to her.

'Why does it matter? How does it effect you?' Kendra asked. Bracken looked at her and sighed again.

'There's too much danger in that world. . . You dont have my or my mother's blessing.' He thought, changing the subject. Kendra felt an anger burn in her and she almost slapped him.

'Im going whether you like it or not, and if you cant support me in my decisions then we dont need to be together.' Kendra throught angrily. She stepped onto the ice and she felt it was weak under her feet but she still walked anyway. She ran to Seth when she saw him with tears in her eyes. She just broke up with Bracken, she didnt think it would hurt until it happened.

"What happened?" Seth asked as he hugged her, he wouldnt have hugged her back but they were away from everyone else and it was just them.

"Bracken doesnt want me to go. . . So I broke up with him." Kendra said. She wiped her eyes as though she didnt care and walked back to the others. Rachel gave her a look.

'You got all of it didnt you?' Kendra asked Rachel. She nodded.

'I wasnt trying to listen. . . But I still am not too good at controling this. . .' Rachel thought.

'It's fine. . .' Kendra put on a fake smile and walked to Grandpa.

"We dont have their blessing, apparently they dont suppost that world at all." Kendra said. Grandpa sighed but nodded.

"Lead the way to the portal then." Grandpa said. Kendra nodded and looked at Seth. They took the lead and began their walk to the portal.

'We have a few shrines in Lyrain. . . Make sure you stay in contact. . .' Bracken thought awkwardly to her. Kendra didnt respond to him. She just held Seth's hand and looked for the narrow passage way that led to the portal. She ran her fingers of her free hand along the trees, they reached the hollow tree. . . .
