chapter 2

The Seer was quietly sitting in her room, in the resting place of so many other beings. She sighed. "I'll go out, for more digging.." Seer softly spoke to nothing, perhaps talking to the spirits. She got up and stumbled over to the outside ledge. closing her eyes, taking a deep breath, closing her eyes, and breathing out. She opened them to witness a tear rip open in the ceiling, to a soft bright blue, perhaps the sky? For a moment, she saw a figure that looked strangely unfamiliar fall onto a platform, turning into a bug-like creature as it fell to the platform below her. She hurriedly jumped down to see who this was. "Hello?" She asked, shaking the bug softly. The bug's top wings were yellow, fading into a purple, with a purple dot on the bottom, and lower wings that were mostly a dark brown-blue with a yellow stripe on each. When she lifted the wings away, it revealed the body being yellow, fading into a darker color. They were a moth. To be exact, a mint moth.

The Seer also noticed the metal, basket-looking object with a strange, unfamiliar language written on it in one of their hands. They had a badly broken leg, which was bleeding heavily. She attempted to lift the injured moth with her hands several times before finally getting them onto the ledge. "I'm not as strong as I used to be", she thought, dragging the moth the rest of the way. Placing the moth on a pile of pillows, she took pieces of paper made from parts of the Whispering Root, and started using it as a bandage for the moth. using Magic reminiscent of dreams, she made the bandage bind carefully to the injury, and added more layers to it until the bleeding wasn't showing through the paper. While doing this, she thought to herself: "Where did they even come from? It was blue, and she thought she saw a yellow orb?" She remembered the twisted light of the moth tribe, but this wasn't the same. "This will be an interesting discussion" she thought, tending to the mysterious moth, She wondered. "what's going on behind those shut eyes?"

Monomon sensed a change within Hallownest.

She focused on the shift in the realm of the living, thinking of the others, hoping they could see what was happening.

It reminded her of wanderer descending into hallownest, but this felt unusual, like a divine being had found the realm, but not quite the same.

She wondered if this was a sign, of what was to come, if something would change in the future.

THE SEALS MUST BREAK

-------------
The bubbling, fizzling sounds of acid awoke Solar Flare from the depths of unconsciousness, as she screamed "Not again!" Before looking around herself. She saw lots of overgrown greenery and big, spiky flying things. "Where am I?" She wondered, as she jumped to her legs before falling back down. Wait, legs? She looked down to see roots and dark green branches tightly woven together to form leg-like appendages ending with curved nubs for feet. She held her new arms out, they were made from the same branches. She could now strangle zombies! She tried getting up again, holding out her arms for balance, stumbling while standing. She started acting out how Crazy Dave or Patrice would walk. "This isn't as bad as I thought!" She said excitedly as she tried to run to the outside of the area, falling face flat into the ground and laying there soaking up the sounds of nature. It'd been a while or even never since she heard of anything like this.

Solar flare tried standing up and walking again, and finally was able to waddle over to the outside. She started feeling nervous about what was happening, the last thing she remembered was that a rift opened and she fell right in, it had to be Dr Zomboss's work, had to! But his look of confusion and shouting at Dave made him slightly less suspicious in her eyes, then who did? She realised where she was going, and stopped. she nearly fell into a pool of acid while being deep in thought. With a sigh, she looked up and noticed platforms going forward, so she jumped over the gap, taking a few steps forward and heard a rustling sound. "Come out! I'm not afraid!" She shouted, as a giant blob of green rushed to her with vibrant orange eyes. She instinctively pulled down the goggles that weren't on her face, and yet she burned a bright yellow and orange colour, burning the massive creature away. A small, frightened bug was revealed inside the foliage. She picked the bug up as it was trying to bury itself into the ground. "Awww! Cute little thing" She said, looking around if anyone was there "I'm going to name you... Mossie!"

The creature, Mossie, was in the process of squirming out of Solar flare's hand, with little success. "Don't do that! I just adopted you!" She said playfully to it, it stared at her with a strange expression. Must be joy or excitement! It reminded her of that pet Dr Zomboss had, it was called Mr Stubbins if she remembered correctly, they kinda look the same as well. But Mossie is greener, smaller and not spiked.. And is also alive. "I wonder if its eye colour is naturally orange?" She continued on with her new friend, who kept squirming in her along the route before simply burying itself in the tangle that is her arms and seemingly curling up to sleep. She, after an amount of travel reached a path downwards "Should we go down?" She asked Mossie, before jumping down anyways. She hit a platform, and noticed a way on her left. She entered to see a bench lit softly by an unknown source. "Oh better remember this for future travel!" She said excitedly, before exiting out and continuing downwards. She rushed downwards before hearing "Solar?" A familiar voice called out, she whipped around to face Rose sitting on a rock. "Rose! Oh I'm so glad to see you! Are you alright did the rift hurt you?" Solar nearly shouted in response. "I'm fine, don't worry. I'm certain Penelopea is also, I heard her through a darker path." Rose looked different, still herself obviously, but her face was different. She didn't have a mouth anymore and her eyes were dark like the young sproutlings on the front gardens.

"you look different!" Solar flare shouted before covering her mouth "Why yes, I do  and so do you." Rose responded calmly, Solar flare only looked at her confusedly before asking "What? I'm completely normal looking!" Rose laughed a little, before responding "You're white, glowing, have eyes like a child's and you have less petals." Did she? Solar flare patted her petals to check, tearing a bit from one by accident. it crumpled in her hand and turned to pure light floating away. Confusion filled both faces before they shrugged and continued downwards, reaching a path. Rose entered it and gestured for her to follow, which she did with a small amount of hesitation. The route got darker and darker until spikes started showing up. "Hey rose?" Solar asked, Rose looked over them "Did you see her here? At all?" Solar continued as rustling filled the air, she quickly stepped away but Mossie used this as a chance to escape and jumped from where they hid, and landed on the ground before a massive, snapping sound filled the air, as a giant pair of plant-like jaws closed around Mossie. "Mossie!' Solar flare screeched as the plant released the pet but not before it had been completely mutilated, orange covering the plant and soaking the ground. Solar flare couldn't stop sobs breaking out of her face as she grieved for her dead pet while Rose was studying the plant and orange that spilt out. "Insect blood is usually clear or a pale colour... This is bright orange. I think this was a mercy for it as this could be an illness of sorts" Rose stated with an empathetic tone "As this plant is also infected with the orange." These words didn't help Solar flare get over Mossie's death as she picked what remained of their body up, cradling it before quickly digging a pit for them and burying them. She got up, careful not to step on the plant, and continued on with the route with tear blurry vision.

They travelled a little further until they reached the entrance to a building when another sound was made. Green shadow, Penelopea, had popped her face out from a pile of leaves and vines, and shot peas at them before stopping. "Oh no! I didn't realise that it was you guys, did I hurt you?" Green shadow asked, moving into the light Solar Flare produced, revealing that she also turned humanoid from half up, except she kept her face which now had spots, but downwards the roots all forms tentacle appendages, with some chunks of rocks within them. You kind of like a mutated plant!" Solar flare blurted out, Rose just facepalmed and Green shadow just nodded "Wait I just realised, Where'd our clothes go?" Solar flare shouted. The trio just stared at each other before ducking behind nearby rocks "Don't look at me! I don't have my cloak-" Green Shadow said before getting up from the rocks and continued. "Wait, we're plants. but I think we should at least get some cloaks." the two others jumped from where they hid as she wandered off to find cloaks. "So, have you seen anyone else who fell in?" Rose asked. "Nope. Not yet, I hope." Solar flare responded as the two started talking about past experiences, and the three went further into an old, grey, seemingly ruined place. "Hey, I found some cloaks!" Green shadow's voice filled the interior as she showed up from the hall, wearing a faded cloak that looked similar to her old one, but with tears. "Here, try these on!" Green shadow threw the cloaks at the two. Solar flare had been given a cloak as dark as the night with orange stains and large tears. "I stole that from one of the humanoid guys, he didn't seem very okay." Green shadow stated. Looking over to Rose, she had a cloak of a grey colour with a hood which had stains as well but no tears. "I found these on a bench with a pile of discoloured blood."  "Now what do we do?" The three became quiet silent before "I guess, we wait?" Green shadow said calmly.
