Sebastian and Chase made sure that Ivy and Cooper returned home safe. Well, to Sebastian's home but they were safe.

They had things to deal with and Ed's brother to look into. There was a team set up for that. Sebastian made his statement and was released. He had to talk to Ivy. He was an actor not an investigator. Chase would take care of that end. He was military.

Sebastian walked in and Ivy greeted him. "We need to talk." Sebastian was worried and thought that this was over. They would never want to see him again and he would miss them.

Sebastian sighed. "Worst sentence in the English language."

Ivy laughed. "No! I just wanted to say thank you. You risked everything for Cooper and I don't even know how to repay you! I was so scared when Ed aimed that rifle and I heard the shot!"

She took a breath. "I thought you were dead! I was terrified when they shot at you!"

Sebastian pulled her close. "I'm fine. My clothes were destroyed but I'm fine. I'm sorry that people aren't more educated! I really am. We are not like the movies. Those are science fiction."

"I love to make them because I can be me and nobody is the wiser. I don't kill people and never, hardly, drink blood." He shrugged. "I don't like to but if I get stranded, I can drink a cow or something." He wanted to give her all the information.

"This is the main reason that I stay single, Ivy." He sighed.

Ivy nodded. "How could anyone understand? I get it. I'm going to need some time, Sebastian." She stopped talking.

Sebastian was starting to panic. "What?"

Ivy blushed. "I just mean to make a commitment to you. I will need some time. I wanted to say that I understand you but I'm not ready."

"Oh, you mean with us?" Sebastian was surprised. "Is there a us? I wasn't sure you would want that after this. Tonight."

Ivy nodded. "I should have been put off before tonight, Sebastian. I'm awful! I feel so bad about sleeping with you!"

Sebastian smiled. "Hasn't been much sleeping, Ivy." He was wicked.

Ivy looked down. "I know." She cleared her throat. "Okay. Having sex with you then. I told Damien. I sat on his grave and told him about us. Worse...I didn't feel guilty and I should. I really should."

Sebastian smiled. "I did the same thing. Friday morning, when I went to catch my flight and changed it instead. I sat and talked to Damien. That was before anything happened. I cursed him for having such a wonderful wife."

"I was kind of mad at him for that. Which I know is crazy! I tried all week to ignore you but I kept watching you deal with people. You were so sweet. I hated that I liked you so much."
"And worse. I had to stay and get to know you! I should have left." He knew that was true.

Ivy stared. "You really are such a jerk!"

Sebastian stared. "What? Me?" She was right but what made him one now?

Ivy nodded.

"How do you figure?"

Ivy smiled. "You are the whole package. I was trying to find a reason to hate you and run. I wanted to leave and never see you again!" She paused. "You are sexy. I already knew that and you are a wonderful actor...I love that you talked to Damien even though it's stupid. He isn't there. You are charming and sweet. I want to hate that about you but...."

Sebastian smiled. "You don't hate me?"

Ivy smiled. "No. But I can't...Not yet. I need some time. I'm not ready for anything serious or any talk about love. I can't do that right now."

"Ivy, I would expect nothing less. Take all the time you need. I will wait. I wanted to tell you about the vampire but..."

"I would have never believed you, Sebastian."

Sebastian nodded. "I know. Who would? When we were drinking, I almost said it. I have never wanted to tell another person, Ivy. Never. Just Damian."

Cooper was at their door. "How did it happen?"

Sebastian had no idea how long he was there. "Uh." He smiled. Cooper was talking to him and he was thrilled. "Sit, Cooper. I would never hurt you." He wanted to reassure his nephew. Sebastian still looked like a vampire.

Cooper sat. "I know." He said that like he knew that and never questioned it.

Ivy joined her son. "How did it happen?"

Sebastian took a breath. "Nuclear waste." He smiled and they both stared. "I'm kidding! I volunteered." He took another breath.

"I had a car accident a few years ago. I was damaged. My body was damaged. My left side was paralyzed like I had a stroke. Our boss, Regina, helped me. She gave me this option."

"I had a choice and I chose this. I met Chase and he showed me what a vampire can do. I learned a lot from him."

"It's part of me and keeps me whole. It's like a parasite. It's inside me. We are a team. To separate one from the other would kill us both. When he is hungry, he finds energy. On set, it's easy. He siphons energy from people walking around and no one knows. He never hurts people. Neither of us likes to bring harm to others. They are a very peaceful species. It's complicated." He stopped.

Cooper stared. "So you are infected?"

Sebastian nodded. "Yes. Sort of, sure. It's not contagious. Even if I bit you or you drank my blood, you would not turn. It's nothing like the movies. The parasite or being, chose me and I chose him. We help each other."

Cooper smiled. "That is so cool!"

Ivy smiled. "It's weird."

Sebastian nodded. "Very."

"So, is it an alien? Are vampires aliens?" Cooper had to ask.

Sebastian sighed. "Yes. It's an alien race that asked for help and now there is a department for vampires. It's all very secret. They are not trying to take over, they are trying to adapt. It's a partnership. It's very efficient. They are a peaceful species."

"Okay, that is weird." Cooper smiled at Sebastian's worried expression. "He fits into this family!" He looked at his mom.

Ivy nodded. "Very well."

Sebastian was happy to hear that.

"So, what about Ed?" Ivy had to ask. "What will happen to him?"

"Regina will talk with him and Chase will help him investigate his brother's murder. It was probably the very same people that sent him to find me. Chase will look into it." Sebastian sighed. "I'm not police or anything. I'm just an actor. But Chase... He will figure it out. He's a good friend."

He knew that Ed would have one choice. He would understand them soon enough but they didn't need to know that. Ed would be turned for their safety.

"Chase was a police officer before he was a vampire. Now, he works with Regina. She is the Chief of police...kind of. I kept my acting job but when they need anything, I help. Chase loves to work alone, though. This case will keep him busy."
