by: Carl D. Lawrence

THE DISCOVERY

The body of Wendi Graves, 49, was found in the living room of her home on Saturday night. An autopsy showed the woman succumbed to multiple skull fractures and over sixty-seven stab wounds and was sexually assaulted before she died. Chicago police said the body and suspect, Henry Graves, 55, was found shortly after midnight by their eldest daughter, Lavina Graves, 22, as she came home early from college to visit her family for the holidays. The leading discovery of Wendi Graves led to an investigation that then led the police to discover the bodies of three young women buried in the basement of their home. The missing three ladies from the case of 'The Innocent Three' two years ago. Who were at a high school party and had never returned home.

THE TRIAL VERDICT

Henry Graves, the husband of Wendi Graves and father of Lavina and Aslan Graves, 17, was given a death verdict for the murder of his wife and the innocent three, as well as the attempted murder of his oldest daughter.

The jury's death verdict came from the testimony of Lavina, who walked in on her father standing over the body of Wendi Graves and then being attacked with the same kitchen knife used to kill her mother. Lavina only survived because a neighbor saw their altercation through the open front door and called the police as she fought off her father.
