Chapter 14 ━━ Marry Me?

Lorna wakes up in the arms of a sleeping Stefan. She kisses his nose. "Stefan, wake up. It's Christmas!" 

"Five more minutes." He mumbles, not daring to open his eyes.

"Come on, Stef. Don't be lazy. Get up!" She yells and he groans, not wanting to wake up.

"There's a Christmas day next year too. Let's celebrate Christmas next year. Now come here and sleep." 

Lorna slaps on his cheek playfully, earning another groan from him before cuddling into him once again.

Later on, Lorna finds herself walking in the night through a crowd standing around a huge Christmas tree. She glances at Stefan with a smirk, making him smile with a nod approving her next move. 

She uses her magic secretly and lights up the tree where everyone starts to cheer happily, making the blonde smile. 

"There. Everything is good." Stefan says and wraps his arms around her, rubbing her back gently.

"Yeah." Lorna says, but with that, a strong wind starts to blow up. 

Stefan picks his ringing phone to see Damon's ID. Wind is blowing hard and Stefan tries to hear Damon on the phone.

"That little magic sucker sucked up all that magic from the traveler spell and-."

Before Damon ends his sentence, Stefan loses the connection as the wind rises. 

"What is it?" Lorna asks, even though she just heard everything.

"Kai has drawn all the power from the earth of that traveler's spell."

The lights of the Christmas tree start to burst one by one. 

"What are we gonna do?" 

"There's a 22-year-old sociopathic witch running around Mystic Falls right now. That we have a plan for. We've dealt with every kind of evil there is, and we always have a plan. But for now, let's go somewhere safe until the storm ends." He says, making her nod.

Then again, Stefan and Lorna walk into Mystic Falls Park. It's kind of freezing outside but it's no big deal for them. Being a vampire has its own peaks.

"I brought you a gift." Stefan says.

"For Christmas?" She asks, happily making him shrug. "Sort of."

"But you know? You're officially the worst gift giver. Last time you got me a snow globe of Mystic Falls as if I don't see enough of this town every day as it is." She laughs and he pouts.

"Aww...Stef." Lorna pokes his cheek making, both of them laugh.

"This time you'll love it. I promise." Stefan says, holding his pinky.

"Okay." She shrugs.

He nods and takes out a small box wrap with a red and white wrapper and hands it to her. "Merry Christmas, Lori."

"Thank you." She smiles and takes the box excited for the gift. Then she removes the wrapper and opens the box to see that the inside is empty. She looks at Stefan confusedly.

That is the moment when Stefan gets down on one knee, taking a diamond ring from his jacket pocket making her eyes widen.

"Stefan?" Her voice is as shocked as her whole body. "Are you going to?"

"Yeah." He nods and flashes a huge smile. "Lorna Evelyn Eclipse..." He trails off. 

"Will you be mine forever?" He adds.

Lorna smiles and nods rapidly and constantly. "I will. Yes, Stefan."

He slides the ring into her finger and crashes his lips on hers eagerly. Their lips move in perfect sync and desire. But for an unknown reason all those tinges, sparks and fireworks are gone like they never exist when she kisses Stefan. 

Lorna feels weird even though she should feel like I'm the happiest person in the world right now. She is engaged and Kai can burn in hell. 

Lorna badly wants to watch Kai's expression when he gets to know that she's engaged. Wait. Why should she even have to drag Kai into this perfect moment?

Stefan breaks the kiss to look at her worriedly. "What's wrong?"

"Huh?" 

"Why did you suddenly stop kissing back?" Stefan asks.

"It's-it's just because, I lost in my thoughts." I laugh nervously.

"What?" Stefan laughs. "Tell me about it."

"I was planning our future in my mind." She lies. Not seeing the lie, Stefan laughs even harder.

"Wh...a...t?" Lorna trails off with a playful face.

"You're hilarious. You know that?" Stefan asks, giggling like a girl.

Lorna gives him a playful glare before he pulls her into him with his famous grin. She smiles and rests herself in his arms. 

"I'm glad that we met, fell in love and ended up together. I love you, Lorna." Stefan says.

The blonde opens her mouth to say that 'I love him too', but something is stopping her. "Same."

"Let's surprise Damon with his Christmas gift. Shall we?" Stefan asks her.

"Deal." She smiles.

Stefan stops Damon's repaired car in front of the Salvatore boarding house. At the same time, Damon appears at the front door to see Stefan drive up in Damon's car.

"What? This was gone. I blew this up." Damon rambles.

"Yeah? Well, you weren't around to annoy me for the last 4 months, so I had a bit of extra time on my hands." Stefan says, making Lorna smile.

"Ha!" Damon's smiles don't fade away from his face.

"Think of it as a merry Christmas/late welcome back to life present." Stefan says and gives him the keys.

Damon takes the keys and the brothers hug. "Hahaha! Thank you."

"Hey. Just, uh, do me a favour. Don't die again. Those fenders were a real bitch to find." Stefan jokes.

"Deal. Deal. Ha! Yeah." Damon says and looks at the blonde with a goofy grin. "Look, who's here!"

"Hey, Dami. I'm hungry. Do you have anything to eat in your kitchen?" She asks, rubbing my tummy.

"Macaroni?" Damon asks.

"Sounds good to me." She says as they walk back inside.

"You sticking around?" Damon asks Stefan.

"Well, that depends. Might have to hide, before Caroline kills me when she finds that I didn't follow her words with the proposing." Stefan chuckles. 

Stefan got Caroline's advice? That must be the funniest thing Lorna ever heard. 

Damon's eyes immediately snap towards the blonde's hands to notice the ring. "Ooo..... look at that. My brother is finally getting out of his nerdy bachelor life!" 

"Well done, bro. You got the girl." He pats on Stefan's back with a proud smug.

Lorna straightly walks into the kitchen and inhales the delicious smell of the macaroni. She picks up a plate and digs into the food without taking a break. 

After spending the time with the Salvatore brothers, Lorna walks to the front door with Stefan the next morning. 

Haha. Time goes fast when you spend time with your friends. Wait. Friends? Just ignore that.

"Are you sure that you don't want me to drop you home? It's freezing outside." Stefan states.

"I'm fine, Stefan. I'm a vampire. It's no big deal." She assures him.

"Alright." Stefan gives up knowing there is no way that he can win arguing with her. "Go home safely and I love you." 

"I will and I feel the same, Stef." Lorna kisses his cheek, making him smile.

"Call me when you get home." Stefan says.

"I will." She nods and he watches her until he cannot see her any longer and closes the door. She smiles to herself thinking about Stefan. 

At the same time, her phone beeps, making her check the message. It's from an unknown number.

Congratulations on your engagement, I'm so delighted for you!

The smile on her face drops as she starts to panic. "No, no. This can't happen."

How did he even find her number?

She tries to vampire speed back to the Salvatore boarding house, but somehow once again her vampire skills don't work just like it didn't back in the prison world.

Kai said that it must be a result of staying in the prison world. But she's no longer in the prison world. And she used her vampire abilities when she came back. What happened suddenly?

After running back to the Salvatore boarding house, she knocks on the door and waits for someone to open the door. 

Luckily, Damon opens the door making her mentally sigh in relief. "Hello. Anybody there?" 

"Damon, what are you doing?" She asks whilst Damon looks around like she's invisible to him. 

"Are you gonna let me in or..." She starts but puzzled Damon closes the door.

"What the hell happened to him?" Lorna questions herself and tries to knock on the door once again.

"I may have put a cloaking spell on us."

She whirls around and looks at the person who owns the voice. 

"How genius is that?" 

Her whole body tense up at his view. Before she tries something to escape from him, he hits her with a weapon and knocks her down.
