Chapter 1
Chapter 1 ━━ Hell Or Heaven?
━━━━━━━━☆★☆━━━━━━━━
The moonlight is providing enough light to reduce the hidden bitterness of the night.
Lorna Eclipse, a blonde in her early twenties is watching her friend, Elena Gilbert getting into the passenger seat of the car beside Damon Salvatore, who's waiting for the signal from the sheriff, Liz Forbes outside of the Town's city line and proceeds to drive into the town when he gets confirmation from Liz that the plan is a go.
"Hey, guys." Lorna says, sneaking into the back seat with a heavy grin.
"What the hell are you doing?" Damon asks her.
"I'm here to save my boyfriend and I'm going to do anything to bring him back." She smiles innocently. "You said that you need my help to bring Stefan back. And here I'm giving you my help."
"Woah. No. No. That's not how this works, Lorna. I want you to stay away from this. This is dangerous. Besides the second we cross the border, you're going to die. I mean really die." Damon explains with a stressed expression written on his face.
"I can take the risk. Remember that I'm a witchy bitch even though I lost the shit a few days ago when I was turned. And I'm still a vampire for the God's sake making me able to pass through it with you two." The blonde winks.
"Sorry, you're reason is not long enough. So get out." Damon glares at the blonde in the backseat. "And I think that this is totally a bad idea."
Damon can be an overprotective ass sometimes and Lorna hates the certain quality of him.
Lorna crosses her arms and gives him an 'I'm not gonna go anywhere, do anything if you can' look.
"Did you talk about this with your cousin sis?" Damon asks.
"Bonnie doesn't need to know everything I do, Damon." Lorna points out.
"Elena, kick her out before I do that." Damon requests his girlfriend.
"That's her choice, Damon." Elena says taking the blonde's side.
Lorna takes a long breath and releases. "I know what I signed up for, Damon and I'm all in."
Damon hesitates and contemplates his next move.
"What are you staring at? Drive!" Lorna orders him. "If you can't, give me the keys."
"Like that's gonna happen. I prefer to die in peace." Damon says sarcastically before he turns the key in the ignition and they drive off towards Mystic Falls.
After crossing the border into Mystic Falls, they speed toward the grill.
"Hurry! We have to die while we're still vampires, or..." Elena yells and suddenly starts choking on water.
"No!" Damon yells, noticing the water.
"Damon, hurry up!" Lorna yells, making him slam his foot down on the petal and starts driving more quickly.
"Come on!" Damon cries out in frustration when he isn't moving as quickly as he'd like.
Elena looks over at Damon, clearly scared. "Damon..."
"I know..." Damon takes Elena by the hand as they come upon the Grill.
Damon looks at his best friend with a weak smile. "Blonde, you're a part of my family. Let's do this together."
"I know, Damon." Lorna nods, smiling as she places her hand on their interlocked hands and squeezes. They brace themselves for impact before the car crashes through the window at the grill. Soon after, the building explodes.
That's what Lorna last remembers before everything goes black as pain engulfs her in whole.
Then again, after floating in darkness for a certain time period, Lorna appears in front of Bonnie who's standing outside in the graveyard.
"Lori? What are you doing here?" Bonnie asks in shock.
"Bonz, hey ya. Jumping to the other side to make sure that everyone survives." Lorna sends her a cheeky smile.
"This is dangerous." Bonnie warns her.
"I'm already dead now. I have no choice." Lorna touches Bonnie's shoulder and passes through the dark skinned witch to the other side.
Lorna appears on the other side where she sees familiar faces standing there. Stefan, Lexi, Bonnie, Elena, Tyler, Enzo and Luke to be exact.
"Stefan!" She yells, making him turn to her and flashes a bright smile before pulling her into a tight hug.
"Are you okay?" She asks him as they pull apart.
"Yeah. But I'm not okay to see you here." He says with a serious face.
"Oh. Come on, Stef. Now don't be like that." She says and kisses his lips softly. He kisses her back gently pulling her into him.
"Okay. I think I'm okay for now." Stefan says as they break apart making her giggle.
"Aww...my favourite couple. Aren't you two sweet together?" Lexi awes making both Stefan and the blonde blush.
"BONNIE!" Luke yells as he rushes to Bonnie. His face is full of worrisome. "Bonnie! Hey! It's too much for her. We need to start now!"
Lorna looks to see that Liv, who's doing the spell to get us out of the other side, is really struggling to keep the spell going.
She has tears streaming down her face and blood falling from her nose. But she keeps chanting. "Ohto Eestanay As Vazat Esvet Ohnaz Eespalit. Ohto... Eestanay... As Vazat ... Esvet Ohnaz..."
"No! We need to go together. Damon isn't here yet." Stefan reasons.
"I don't care." Luke says before he grabs hold of Bonnie and passes through her, back to the land of the living.
"You need to come through." Bonnie says to Tyler.
"What about everybody else?" Tyler at the others. But Bonnie touches his arm, making him pass to the mortal world.
"You don't have to tell me twice." Enzo grabs Bonnie by the shoulders and passes on through.
"I'll go and try to find, Damon." Elena says and speeds off.
"I think you need to take her on a date, Stefan." Lexi says to Stefan.
"With a romantic candlelight dinner and sexy lingeries." Lexi whispers the last part to the blonde even though she is very knowledgeable about the fact that Stefan can clearly hear her due to his vampire hearing.
Proving the fact, Stefan chuckles which obviously, turns Lorna's face red.
"So? How's my best friend treating you?" Lexi asks.
"He's the best boyfriend I ever had." Lorna says, gaining a smile on Stefan's face.
"That's good. I was gonna kick his ass if you said the other way." Lexi says with her sweet smile.
"Come on guys, we don't have much time." Bonnie says to the trio. "Grab my hand!"
"Go. GO!" Lexi tells her best friend
"No." Stefan declines, shaking his head, not wanting to leave before his love one's behind.
"You have to go! Come on!" Lexi says and looks at Lorna. "Take him with you. Go now."
"I came to make sure that everyone passes back. I'm leaving when everyone leaves." The blonde replies.
With that Elena arrives back to the crypt with a frown on her face. "I can't find Damon!"
"You go. I'll wait here." Stefan says to Elena.
"No, I'm not leaving without him!" Elena yells.
"This place is falling apart." Stefan states.
"No!" Elena shakes her head but suddenly, Bonnie grabs the brunette and forces her to pass back through her.
"Next you." Stefan says to his girlfriend.
"I'm not leaving, Stefan." Lorna confirms her words. "Not until everyone I love leaves here."
Stefan opens his mouth to speak but their attention moves to Bonnie, who starts coughing up blood.
"Bonnie!" Lorna yells with concern.
Bonnie almost falls to the ground, but Stefan stops her fall, which forces him back over to the living plane.
"Bonnie, This is killing you, isn't it?" Lexi asks the witch.
"I can hold on. I have to. Just come through. We have to finish this!" Bonnie says almost yelling. "Both of you. Hurry up."
"Not just yet!" A familiar voice says, making them look at the dark-haired man who killed Stefan right before sending a knife through Lorna's abdomen and left her to die back in the living world.
"You bastard!" Lorna yells as she jogs towards him. But Lexi lunges at Markos before her and kicks him down to the ground, where they trade punches. He's on top of Lexi when she starts to smile. The darkness blows in and sucks Markos into oblivion.
"Lexi! Come on! It's your turn!" Bonnie yells to Lexi knowing that she can't fight with Lorna's stubbornness. This girl knows Lorna more than she knows herself.
"Every person that passes through takes you one step closer to death. What kind of a best friend would I be if you died before Stefan got his brother and girlfriend back?" Lexi stands back and holds her arms up at her side.
"Lexi, what the hell?" Lorna starts to run to her knowing that she's up to something.
"You're not going to get me." Lexi smiles and suddenly, she is bathed in warm white light and she disappears.
"Bonnie! Lorna!" Damon rushes to them with Alaric.
"Thank god!" Bonnie smiles.
Bonnie grabs Alaric by the arm and he disappears.
"Where's Elena?" Damon asks.
"She made it through." Lorna says.
"Okay. You go first. I'll come next." Damon says to the blonde.
"Oh! Come on, both of you!" Bonnie grabs Damon and Lorna's hands, but nothing happens. She backs up and tries again, but still, nothing happens.
"Well, would you look at that..." Damon trails off with confusion.
Lorna's eyes widen in realisation before she looks between her cousin and her best friend. "Oh my god! The spell has stopped."
"I told you that this is a bad idea for you to come here." Damon glares at the blonde.
"My choice. My consequences." Lorna says even though she feels terrified inside. What if she doesn't get any way to go back to Stefan?
On the other side, Elena yells after finding out about the disappearance of the Gemini coven twins.
"Bonnie! We need to find them. We need to start the spell again."
"We can't! That was our one shot." Bonnie says to her.
"Yeah, but Damon and Lorna are on the other side, we have to-" Elena rambles.
"ELENA..." Bonnie cuts her off as she tries her best to contain her emotions. "It's too late."
"No." Elena starts to cry hysterically. Repeating "no" over and over again.
Stefan, on the other hand, looks like his world just crashed into pieces. "Bonnie, there has to be something."
Watching the whole scene in front of her, Lorna scowls. Knowing she can't talk to anyone on the mortal side, she sighs. She looks at Stefan with a sad smile. "Bonnie, please tell Stefan to move on. And say that I love him so much."
Stefan listens carefully as Bonnie repeats her words before his expression turns into an angry one. "I'm not moving on!" He leaves the crypt making the blonde follow him right after.
Stefan sits on the ground and Caroline comes to talk to him.
"I lost them... The three people I love the most in this world...all gone." Stefan cries.
"Lexy?" Caroline asks.
"She never came out. Neither did Markos. I know that's not a coincidence. It was, uh, her, unfinished business. And Damon-uh-he finally had everything he wanted. He was happy. He should be here and finally..." Stefan trails off.
"Oh my god, Lori?" Caroline asks. Her eyes fill with tears as well as Stefan's.
"Yeah. I lost her." Stefan puts his head in between his legs and starts to cry louder.
Lorna wraps her arms around him and strokes his hair.
He looks up confusedly through his handsome face which is now full of tears. It seems like he feels her even though he can't see her since she's now a ghost. "Lorna?"
Caroline looks at Stefan confusedly. But then she realises what's happening. "Lori, I'm gonna miss you. I'm sorry for stealing your favourite dress last week."
Lorna chuckles with amusement. "You're already forgiven, Carebear."
"I wanted to return it to you but looks like it'll be with me as a memory of you." Caroline's voice cracks at the end.
Letting go of Stefan for a moment and she hugs Caroline. "I'm gonna miss you too, Care."
"I'm gonna go." Caroline suddenly vampire speed away.
Lorna looks back at Stefan who's silently crying as she wraps her arms around him, wiping his tears.
"Why do you have to leave me?" His voice cracks. "Please, don't leave me."
"I don't have a choice, Stef. You gave me the happiest moments of my life. Thank you for everything." She strokes his face as he closes his eyes.
"I love you, Stefan." Lorna says and pulls apart from the hug making Stefan open his eyes immediately with panic.
"Please... please... come back to me."
"Goodbye, Stefan." Lorna walks away, a tear falling down her face. She has to let go. She doesn't belong to his world anymore. She is a dead person now.
She stands beside Bonnie who's standing across the graveyard, watching the Other Side's disintegration come to ahead.
"This place is going down, isn't it?" Damon asks as he stands beside his best friend.
They watch a huge hole of light poke through to the other side, while the winds blow all around them like a hurricane.
"It is. I'm sure there are a million people we'd rather be with right now, but..."
"A couple thousand, at most." Damon jokes.
Lorna takes Damon's and Bonnie's hands and their fingers intertwine. Now, a huge orb of light rips through the tree-tops. "Do you two know what I feel right now?"
"What?" Bonnie asks.
"I'm glad that I'm going to the hell with my best cousin and best buddy."
"You think that we're going to hell?" Damon questions with an amused smirk.
"Maybe. But we're together right?" She replies and Damon smiles.
"Do you think it'll hurt?" Bonnie asks as they watch the fabric of reality itself start to shatter, leaving nothing but light.
"I don't kn-" Before Damon can finish his sentence, the light engulfs them into oblivion.
