06 // Night Story

2003 Tree Hill, North Carolina

Haley and Aurora James, Peyton Sawyer, and Brooke Davis were all in Brooke's car. Peyton was driving, Haley was in the passenger seat, and Aurora was in the backseat with a passed-out Brooke. Peyton had turned on the radio, and the girls had bonded throughout the night. Aurora felt like her and Peyton's friendship would get back on track after two years.

"Come on, baby." Haley sang along with the music as they continued down the road.

"We need some new music," Peyton said as she took her hands off the wheel and leaned towards the radio. The James sister's eyes widened at Peyton's actions. Aurora had been sitting up between the two seats so she could be more involved since Brooke was passed out.

"Peyton!" The twins yelled at the same time as Haley grabbed the wheel. Peyton laughed and quickly changed the station before she grabbed the wheel again and moved back onto their side of the road.

"Sorry." Peyton apologized to them, but Aurora knew she wasn't actually sorry.

"Where the hell are we?" Brooke Davis asked as she slowly woke up and took in her surroundings. Also, the area they were in was pitch black, and there were no street lights, so she couldn't see where they were.

"Miles from normal," Haley said from the front. Brooke looked at Aurora and was confused; then, she looked up front and looked at Peyton.

"Okay, I get why she's here," Brooke said as she pointed to Aurora. "But what is she doing here?" Brooke asked as she pointed at Haley.

"You invited her, Brooke," Aurora said as she laughed a little. Peyton and Haley laughed too because they knew that Brooke didn't remember that she invited Haley to come with them. Peyton turned up the radio which made Brooke wince and grab her head.

"Ow!" She exclaimed.

"Alright, what's next?" Aurora asked.

"How about we let Haley pick?" Peyton said. Aurora was shocked because Peyton usually never lets anyone else choose music. Peyton was their designated music person.

"Alright," Haley said as she started to turn the dial and make her way through the radio stations until she landed on a song that they all liked. As Peyton continued down the road, Aurora noticed two figures in the street, and they were walking towards the car.

"Wait, Peyton, do you guys see that?" Aurora asked as Peyton slowed the car to a stop so they could see who was outside walking towards the car. When they saw them, the girls were shocked.

"Could this night get any freakier?" Peyton asked. The two people in front of them were Nathan and Lucas, and they weren't fighting or trying to kill each other.

"Nathan with Lucas?" Haley asked.

"And they're not trying to kill each other, a miracle," Aurora added. The Scott brothers were also confused when they looked inside the car and saw the James sisters with Peyton. Nathan knew Aurora and Peyton weren't friends anymore, and both brothers knew Haley was never friends with Peyton, so they were equally confused to see the girls together. Brooke sat up from the backseat again and looked at her friends.

"What the hell is going on?"

12 HOURS EARLIER

"Hey, strangers." Haley James said to Lucas Scott and her sister Aurora when she approached them outside school. They were currently walking around campus and making their way to class.

"Hmm, no stranger than you," Lucas responded, and Aurora rolled her eyes.

"This was lame on both parts," Aurora said, which made Lucas roll his eyes, and Haley laughed.

"Hales, did you get my message last night?" Lucas asked. Aurora was pretty sure that Lucas was just telling her where they were if she wanted to come hang out.

"No, I was uh... at the library late. Midterms." Haley said.

"Yours or Nathan's?" Lucas asked.

"Both, actually," Haley responded, and Lucas nodded his head, but Aurora could tell that the moment got a little awkward.

"Well, good luck with that," Lucas said, and Aurora almost laughed at how Lucas tried to sound like he cared, but she could tell he didn't. Aurora was just waiting for the two of them to get along; she knew they couldn't hate each other forever.

"Luke, you're cool with this, right? I mean, last week, when you said you didn't trust me." Haley trailed off and sighed, which made Lucas sigh.

"I know... I didn't mean that alright? I meant I don't trust Nathan." Lucas said. Before anyone could respond, Peyton was approaching the trio, but she was looking at Aurora.

"Hey, you got a second?" Peyton asked Aurora.

"Speaking of." Haley trailed off as she grabbed Lucas's arm and pulled them in the opposite direction, leaving Peyton and Aurora alone.

"Yeah, what's up?" Aurora asked. She wasn't sure why Peyton wanted to talk to her, but she knew it couldn't be about anything too bad.

"So, last week... sucked. I just... I wanted to say thanks, Aurora." Peyton said as she handed Aurora a CD case. Aurora took the case from her and noticed it said 'throwback mix' on a piece of tape on the case, and Aurora had a good idea of what songs were on there.

Back when they were close, Peyton would also turn Aurora onto new music, and the girls would always document the favorite songs that they had in common. "Whoa, you made me a mix? This is a huge deal in Peyton's world." Aurora teased. Peyton rolled her eyes, but she still had a slight smile on her face.

"I'm just trying to square my karma," Peyton said.

"Does this mean we're going steady?" Aurora asked, and Peyton rolled her eyes.

"Listen, we have a long ride to our game tonight, and I had some free time. Don't think too much into it." Peyton said. Aurora laughed a little as she put the CD in her bag, and she nodded her head. Peyton wore a small smile as she walked away, and Aurora continued into class.

But she was excited to have music for later.

"Oh, I see... Lucas is even hotter in blue. Aurora, you should totally hook up with him." Brooke Davis said to her friend as they were walking into the gym. They were at their game against the Pickerington Pirates, but they always called them 'hicks' because they lived so far out, in the middle of nowhere. Since it was an away game, the boys wore their blue jerseys instead of the white ones. Aurora rolled her eyes at Brooke's comment and shook her head.

"Stop it," Aurora said.

"What? You're long overdue for some action. I mean, when was the last time you got laid?" Brooke asked, and Aurora rolled her eyes again.

"Trust me, Brooke. I'm fine." Aurora said.

"Well, since you're my best friend, you can have a courtesy hold on Lucas for the weekend, but after that, he's fair game," Brooke said, and Aurora shook her head.

"He's already fair game, Brooke," Peyton said.

"What she said." Aurora agreed as they got to the sidelines and got in their positions. Brooke was centered between Aurora and Peyton; that was usually how their lineup went.

"So, what's the deal with that one anyway?" Brooke asked as she looked over towards Haley. Aurora followed Brooke's head nod and noticed Haley, and she smiled. She knew either Lucas or Nathan asked her to come to the game, but she liked that Haley had been coming to games more.

"She's tutoring Nathan... supposedly," Peyton said.

"And she also hangs out with Ari and Lucas all the time," Brooke said.

"Well, she is my twin sister. We've been hanging out since the womb, and Lucas is our best friend." Aurora said, which made Peyton laugh, and Brooke made a face because that wasn't her point.

"Yeah, right... Peyton and I are supposed to believe that you and your sister are just friends with Lucas and Nathan?" Brooke asked.

"Brooke Davis, are you trying to insinuate that my sister and I are some type of Scott Brother's whores?" Aurora asked, which made Peyton laugh, and Brooke rolled her eyes and looked out onto the court. Since the guys were still warming up, Aurora sat down on the ground and started to stretch herself out.

"Oh my gosh, did you guys just see that?" Brooke asked. Aurora looked up at them while Peyton looked confused.

"See what?" Aurora asked.

"Nathan just gave your sister the nod," Brooke said.

"What nod?" Peyton asked.

"The 'let's hook up after the game' nod. You wanna know what I think? I think Nathan likes tutor girl, but I think tutor girl likes Lucas. And I know Aurora likes Lucas. And I don't know who the hell you like anymore. This is all turning into one big love... rectangle, plus one. Whatever that is." Brooke said, and Aurora laughed.

"A pentagon, Brookie. It's a pentagon." Aurora said. Brooke ran off, Aurora didn't know where to since the game was about to start, but when she was gone, she looked at Peyton and smiled. Peyton noticed her on the ground, and she smiled back. "You remembered all my favorite songs you used to play for me. I'm impressed." Aurora commented.

"You remembered my mom's anniversary. I figured it was the least I could do." Peyton said, and Aurora shrugged her shoulders. Peyton held her hand out and helped Aurora off of the ground, and Aurora laughed a little.

"You made me a mixtape, P. Sawyer. For remembering your mom's death, you could've just given me a thank you and a hug. Not music. Music is your everything, and you rarely share it with anyone." Aurora said, and Peyton shrugged her shoulders.

"Still... it seemed appropriate," Peyton said, and Aurora's face lit up as she fake gasped.

"Oh my gosh, you totally love me again!" Aurora exclaimed, which made Peyton laugh.

"Who said I stopped?" Peyton said, and Aurora raised an eyebrow, but she knew she felt the same. Even though they weren't friends, Aurora didn't stop caring about her, even if she tried to act like she didn't.

"I guess I never stopped either."

⇎⇎⇎⇎⇎⇎

Nathan and Lucas got ejected from the game for fighting each other. Nathan made a snide comment, so Lucas came over to the cheerleaders and said to Peyton that after seeing Nathan in the shower, he understood why Peyton broke up with him. When Nathan was supposed to inbound the ball, he ended up throwing it at Lucas's back, which prompted Lucas to tackle Nathan.

But he tackled him right on top of Brooke.

Aurora and Peyton were still at the school after the game because they were waiting for Brooke, who was back getting her ankle tended to. When Aurora tried to break up the boys from fighting, she got punched in the gut by Nathan, she knew it was an accident, but it still hurt like hell. Aurora raised an eyebrow when she saw her sister coming down the hallway.

"Hales, what are you still doing here?" Aurora called out. Haley turned around and was relieved when she saw her sister.

"Uh, I'm thinking of transferring," Haley said, and the twins laughed. "Your excuse?" She asked.

"Brooke. She's been in there forever." Peyton said as she pointed to the trainers' room and then turned to Aurora. "And by the way, are you alright?" She asked. Aurora nodded and lifted the t-shirt she changed into to reveal that she had an ice pack wrapped around her torso because it was starting to bleed from Nathan's punch.

"All good here," Aurora said.

"Peyton! Ari!" Brooke's voice rang. Peyton and Aurora turned around as Brooke ran at them and fell into their arms. The trainer quickly followed her out of the room while Aurora and Peyton were confused at her behavior.

"Brooke?" Aurora said.

"Hi." The trainer said to them. Aurora could immediately tell he was a college student, so he definitely wasn't the team doctor.

"These are my best friends in the whole world. Aren't they pretty?" Brooke giggled.

"What did you give her?" Peyton asked him.

"Uh, she found some pills... on the floor. She'll be fine. Just uh... let her sleep it off." He said, and then he quickly walked away from them.

"Hey! Ooh... call me!" Brooke exclaimed as he passed. She got out of Aurora and Peyton's arms and tried to follow after the trainer, but she ended up stumbling right into Haley's arms. Peyton and Aurora quickly grabbed Brooke so that she didn't knock Haley over, and they started to lead her outside while Haley walked with them.

"We should totally hang out more... What's your name?" Brooke asked her.

"Haley." She responded as they made it outside. When they got outside, Haley took over for Peyton and helped Aurora keep Brooke upright while Peyton went to pull Brooke's car around to the front.

"Yeah... I don't like that name. Let's call you... Brooke!" Brooke exclaimed, which made Aurora laugh. When Peyton pulled Brooke's car around, she got out, let the convertible cover down, and moved the passenger seat forward so they could get Brooke into the backseat more easily. When they got her inside of the car, Peyton looked at Haley.

"Thanks," Peyton said.

"Where's your ride, Hales?" Aurora asked.

"Oh, I'm just going to take the last fan bus back," Haley said, and Aurora frowned because that bus had just left.

"It just left," Peyton said, and Haley sighed.

"That's perfect! Brooke can come with us!" Brooke exclaimed from the backseat. Peyton looked at the James sisters and was confused since she wasn't there when Brooke named Haley after herself.

"Yeah, she named me Brooke," Haley said, and then Brooke looked at Peyton.

"Peyton, can she come? Please? Peyton, please!" Brooke begged, and Peyton looked at Aurora. Of course, Aurora nodded because she wouldn't leave her sister stranded. Then Peyton turned back to Brooke, who was still looking at her with a pleading look in her eyes.

"Just don't touch the stereo, or we'll have a problem," Peyton said, which made Aurora laugh. Peyton was very particular about music, and no matter who would drive, whether it would be Brooke or Aurora, they always let Peyton be in charge of music because she always makes the best picks.

"Road trip!" Brooke exclaimed as she threw her pom-poms in the air and started singing. "We're going on a road trip. We're going on a road trip. We're going on a road trip." Brooke sang. Aurora shook her head, but she was laughing, and she got in the back with Brooke. Haley got in the passenger seat, and Peyton was driving.

Aurora knew this was going to be an interesting ride.

⇎⇎⇎⇎⇎⇎

During a very excruciating care ride, Brooke was hitting Peyton with her pom-poms while Peyton was trying to drive, and Aurora was trying to keep Brooke in the backseat, but it wasn't working. It was like the pills gave her some type of super strength, and Brooke was stronger when it came to her fight against Aurora.

"Brooke, come on!" Peyton exclaimed, and Brooke started giggling as she threw her pom-poms out of the window. Aurora knew she wouldn't be laughing about that in the morning. Then she leaned up between the seats and looked at Haley and Peyton.

"Do you two like the same guys? Or Peyton... do you and Aurora like the same guy?" Brooke asked. The three girls exchanged a look, and Haley shook her head.

"I'm just tutoring him, that's all," Haley said. Brooke sat back in her seat, Aurora could tell she was too high to care about the conversation anymore, and Peyton glanced over at Haley.

"So, you're not into him? Because he seems to be into you." Peyton said. Brooke was looking out the window, so Aurora leaned between the seats to converse with her sister and her friend.

"He gave her the nod!" Brooke exclaimed, which made Aurora laugh.

"Just be careful," Peyton said. Haley nodded her head, and then she turned to her sister.

"Okay, your turn. What about you and Lucas?" She asked, and Aurora shrugged her shoulders.

"What about Lucas and me?" Aurora asked.

"Oh, come on, Ari. You two have been best friends for years. You both have the slightly tortured aura going on. Talk about your obvious attraction." Peyton said, and Aurora rolled her eyes.

"Well, for years, while I was crushing on Lucas, he was crushing on you, P.Sawyer." Aurora said. Before Peyton could respond, Brooke's car started dinging, and Brooke sat up from the window.

"I hear birds," Brooke said. Peyton looked and saw that they were out of gas, and Peyton pulled the car over to the side of the road.

"Unbelievable! Brooke, did you not think to put gas in the car?" Peyton asked. Brooke leaned next to Aurora to be between the two seats and turned to Haley.

"Answer the question, Brooke." She said as the car came to a complete stop, and then Brooke looked around, confused. "Why are we stopping?" She asked, and Aurora shook her head.

"Because you forgot to fill up your car."

⇎⇎⇎⇎⇎⇎

"There's no signal. Who lives like this?" Peyton asked when she tried to use her phone to call for help, but she had no bars. Peyton, Haley, and Aurora got out of the car, and Peyton tried to call the tow company while Aurora tried to call Lucas. She figured the boys were probably back by now because she was supposed to go over Luke's after the game. Then an idea popped into her head.

"Peyton, pop the trunk." Haley and Aurora said at the same time. Peyton paused for a minute and looked at the twins with wide eyes, which made them laugh a little.

"Weird, freaky twin thing," Peyton said, and Haley laughed.

"It doesn't happen as often as you'd think," Haley said, and Aurora nodded her head.

"Peyton, don't listen; it might be a trick!" Brooke exclaimed. She was still inside the car, and the windows were cracked; they didn't want Brooke to get too wild.

"Yeah, it's empty. I saw a gas station a few miles back. If I'm not back in an hour... Aurora, tell mom that I love her." Haley said, and Aurora rolled her eyes.

"Don't you mean Nathan?" Brooke asked.

"As if I'm letting you go alone. I'll be coming with you." Aurora said.

"Me too," Peyton said as she nodded her head.

"Wait, what about me?" Brooke asked as Peyton rolled up the windows, and then she locked the doors. "I could suffocate in here. Guys!" Brooke exclaimed as the girls continued walking toward the gas station.

"You did crack a window, right?" Haley asked, which made them laugh.

"Guys, come on! I'm scared! Please, come on, guys! Don't go. Someone will come."

⇎⇎⇎⇎⇎⇎

"What did you mean before? About Nathan, what you said before." Haley said to Peyton as they were walking along the road towards the gas station that Haley saw. Peyton shrugged her shoulders as she looked over at her.

"I just know him, that's all," Peyton said.

"Said the ex-girlfriend," Haley said, which made Aurora laugh.

"Well, Hales... I know him too, and Peyton's warning isn't a bad one, or even because she's jealous. You know I love Nathan, but he was a horrible boyfriend to her." Aurora said, and Peyton nodded her head.

"Yeah, because every time we broke up, all he did was make out with you," Peyton said, and Aurora's eyes widened as she turned to Peyton.

"What? You knew about that?" Aurora asked, and Peyton nodded her head while laughing.

"Of course I did. Nathan spills his guts when he's drunk." Peyton said, which made Aurora laugh because she knew that was true.

"Don't worry; we don't do that anymore," Aurora said, and Haley shook her head.

"Look, Nathan and I were crazy with drama, but I'm over it. He's not a complete waste." Peyton said, and Aurora nodded her head.

"She's right. He's just really threatened by Lucas. It could all just be a big mind game. That's kind of how he operates. Do you like him, Hales?" Aurora asked, and Haley shrugged her shoulders.

"I was...-uh, well... we talk about stuff, you know what I mean?" Haley said.

"Like what?" Peyton asked.

"Like school, or... his dad," Haley said. Peyton and Aurora both made small noises when Dan Scott was brought up.

"Oh, Dan... Danny sure did a number on his boy, right?" Peyton said, and the girls nodded.

"Both of them," Aurora said.

"So, you didn't answer your sister's question. Do you like him?" Peyton asked.

"It... it doesn't matter. I mean, that... it would be too weird around Lucas." Haley said. Aurora rolled her eyes while Peyton shook her head.

"Hales, Lucas will get over it. You've got a life to live too, and Luke's reactions to how you live your life shouldn't dictate your decisions." Aurora said, and Peyton nodded her head.

"It just seems kind of selfish," Haley said as she sighed.

"Why? Did he ask you if he could go out with your sister?" Peyton asked. Haley turned to Aurora with wide eyes. She thought that Lucas had asked Aurora out, and neither of them told her.

"Did Lucas ask you out?" Haley asked. Aurora laughed as she shook her head.

"No, he didn't. But Peyton's point is, Lucas wouldn't ask for your permission to date me, so you don't need his permission to date, Nathan." Aurora explained.

"Would you say yes if he asked you out?" Peyton asked Aurora.

"Hmm, it depends... What song is playing? Am I in a mood? Is he smiling when he asks, or is he doing that brooding thing he does 95% of the time?" Aurora said, which made all the girls laugh.

"Oh, you know, I think he's definitely doing the broody thing," Peyton said, and Aurora laughed.

"It's strange. Just... the night away from school... and it feels like you and I actually live on the same planet." Haley said. Peyton glanced over at her and smiled.

"Life plays tricks on you like that."

⇎⇎⇎⇎⇎⇎

Once the girls got to the gas station, Aurora had a feeling it wasn't open since all the lights were off and no one was there. Her suspicions were correct when they got to the door and tried to open it. The gas station was closed. "Great! And no phone, so what are we going to do now?" Peyton asked as she looked at the twins.

Aurora looked at their surroundings and noticed a pickup truck parked a little ways away, and she nudged her sister and pointed her attention over to it. "Oh, yes!" Haley exclaimed as the twins started to walk over to the truck, and Peyton followed behind them.

"So, what are you doing?" Peyton asked as Haley took out her pocket knife. Peyton's eyes widened, and Aurora laughed a little because she knew that Peyton wasn't expecting Haley to have that.

"Um, here, hold this," Haley said as she held out the gas can to Peyton.

"Or you'll stab me?" Peyton asked, which made Aurora laugh.

"A girl can't be too safe," Haley said, turning to her twin. "Aurora, try and get that gas cap open, will you?" Haley said. Aurora nodded and rounded the truck until she found the gas cap; she used her keys to pop it open, then she took off the gas cap.

"Does this really work?" Peyton asked, and Haley shrugged her shoulders.

"We're about to find out," Haley said as she put one end of the tube she cut inside the gas tank, and then from the other side, she started to suck, and Peyton looked at her.

"Had a lot of practice?" Peyton asked. Aurora tried not to, but she couldn't help but start laughing. "At sucking gas. What did you think I meant?" Peyton said, which made Aurora laugh even more. Haley looked up at her and held out the tube.

"Do you want to do it?" Haley asked. Peyton shook her head, and Haley returned to trying to suck the gas out.

"Watch out for the golf ball," Aurora said.

"Oh!" Haley exclaimed as she removed her mouth from the tube, grabbed the gas can, and started filling it up with gas. "Oh, yeah!" Haley exclaimed, and Peyton let out an exclamation of shock.

"Are you kidding?" Peyton asked. She was shocked it worked. "Dude, who knew the James sisters were like the fourth and fifth Charlie's Angels."

⇎⇎⇎⇎⇎⇎

When Haley, Peyton, and Aurora got back to the car. Peyton popped the gas cap on Brooke's car and refilled the tank with the gas they siphoned, and then they got back in the car. Aurora was in the back with Brooke, who was knocked out, Peyton and Haley got back in the front, and as they started on the road again, Aurora leaned up between the seats like she had been doing before.

"I know we're all best friends... but Lucas does care deeply about you, you know?" Haley said to her sister. Aurora really didn't want to talk about her feelings at the moment, so she turned to Peyton.

"Yeah. We need some music." Aurora said. Peyton took her hands entirely off the wheel to reach in the back for something, but the car started swerving. "Peyton!" Aurora and Haley exclaimed simultaneously as Haley grabbed the wheel and veered them back onto their side. Peyton turned back around and put her hands on the wheel.

"Sorry," Peyton said. The jerk of the car jolted Brooke awake in the back as Peyton switched the station. Brooke grabbed her head and looked around, trying to figure out where she was.

"Where the hell are we?" Brooke asked as she looked around.

"Miles from normal," Haley said. Brooke leaned up and saw it was Haley that spoke, and she looked at Peyton with a confused look.

"Okay, I can understand why she's here," Brooke said as she pointed to Aurora. "But what is she doing here?" She asked as she pointed at Haley.

"You invited her, Brooke," Aurora responded, making Peyton, Aurora, and Haley laugh. Peyton turned up the music which made Brooke wince as she grabbed her head and fell back into the seat.

"Ow!" Brooke exclaimed. The girls laughed a little but continued to jam out to the song they were listening to, and when it came to an end. Haley let out a breath.

"Nice. What's next?" Haley asked.

"You pick," Peyton said, and Aurora's eyes widened.

"Peyton Sawyer letting someone else pick the music?" Aurora asked, which made Peyton laugh, and Haley nodded her head as she reached for the radio.

"Alright," Haley said. Brooke sat up again, put herself between the seats, and looked at Peyton and Haley.

"This is so tragic. You two don't actually think you're going to be friends tomorrow, do you?" Brooke asked. Nobody answered the question, but the weight of it hung in the air.

They all knew Brooke was right.

⇎⇎⇎⇎⇎⇎

The girls somehow ran into Lucas and Nathan, who were stranded because Whitey kicked them off the bus because of their fight during the game. The boys squeezed in the backseat with Aurora and Brooke, so Brooke was seated in the middle, and Aurora ended up on Lucas's lap, which neither of them minded. So Peyton gave everyone a ride home, and then she stayed with Brooke. Once Aurora showered and changed, she went to Lucas's house as they had initially planned.

They were both lying down on Luke's bed. He was lying on his back while Aurora was on her side facing him. "So, it seems like we both had pretty eventful nights," Aurora said, and Lucas chuckled a little while nodding his head. Nathan also apologized for accidentally punching Aurora in the gut during the fight at the game, but Lucas had given her more ice.

"Yeah, that's one way to put it," Lucas said, which made her laugh. "But are you okay? I never... I never wanted my issues with Nathan to result in you getting hurt. I hate that you got hurt." Lucas said, and Aurora shook her head.

"Luke, it's a bruise; it's no big deal. I've been through worse." Aurora said.

"Like when you broke your arm freshman year?" Lucas asked, and they both started laughing as Aurora shook her head, but that was what she was referring to. She was at a cheer summer camp because she did competitive cheer outside of cheering at school. She was one of the best flyers on the squad, but she got dropped. She was pretty sure it was on purpose because of some jealousy from other members, but she broke her arm.

"I still sleep with the teddy bear you brought to the hospital. Along with all my other stuffed animals, of course." Aurora said, and Lucas smiled.

"Well, I know we can't always do this." He gestured to them lying side-by-side. "So, I thought I'd give you someone else to hold onto."

"Can I tell you something?" Aurora asked. Lucas looked over at her and nodded his head.

"Yeah, you know you can always tell me anything; what's up?" He asked. Aurora thought about what she wanted to say, but then she exhaled a deep breath and just smiled.

"I love you, Luke." She said, and Lucas smiled as she chuckled a little bit.

"I love you too, Ari," Lucas said. Aurora smiled as she nodded her head. It always meant the world to her to hear those words from Lucas, but there was only one downside.

She knew he didn't mean it the way she did.
