You got to have Heart

(3rd Person PoV)

"Whoa what's that?" Joey asked as he pointed to a city that they drove by.

"That's Neo Domino City. We're in my timeline now," Yusei told them.

"So this is the future," Asuka noted.

"Yes but we're not stopping by for now. We already have competent duelists protecting the city and Satellite," Yusei explained.

"Satellite?" Yugi asked.

"A long story but there used to be a class system where certain people got discriminated against. Especially people with markers but that's over now," Yusei replied.

The rest of them stayed quiet at this.

"But we're going further into the future. So hang on tight!" Yusei called out and everyone held on.

He revved up his D-Wheel and it went straight away.

"Is your D-Wheel going to fit more people onto here?" Judai asked.

"Don't worry. We're going to meet up with a friend of mine," Yusei assured them.

(Meanwhile)

A black D-Wheel came out of a flash of light and the rider held on tightly.

It drove up onto a parking space and the rider took off his helmet to reveal spiky orange hair.

He looked around the bright city.

So this is Heartland City? It's a lot more colorful than Neo Domino, Crow thought.

He then shook his head and put his helmet on again. Now isn't the time to be thinking about that. I need to find the duelist that she told me to find, he thought and revved up the engine.

He drove away, gaining some weird looks from bystanders.

If I remember what she said correctly, then he might be arriving at school right now, Crow thought.

His suspicions were correct.

He arrived at a school and a bunch of students were running into it like they were late.

Crow looked around for a violet and red haired kid but couldn't see any.

Guess I have to wait, he thought and leaned on his D-Wheel.

(Meanwhile)

"AHHHHH! I'M GOING TO BE LATE!" The violet and red haired kid ran down the stairs.

"I told you to sleep in early so you wouldn't be late!" His sister shouted.

"But Akari! You said that you were going to wake me up this time!" The boy complained.

"I didn't say anything remotely close to that," Akari told him.

"She is right, I do not recall her saying that she will be the one to wake you up, Yuma," a cyan figure said, coming out of the key that was around Yuma's neck.

"Ah screw you, Astral!" Yuma snapped and grabbed some rice balls.

"YUMA. HURRY UP," a bot with an orange ribbon told him.

"No need to tell me twice, Lilly!" Yuma exclaimed, grabbing his bag and running out.

He then stopped to give his grandma a goodbye kiss on the cheek and waved goodbye to her.

"Now I've done it! Kotori is going to lecture me and I may get detention. Damn it!" Yuma complained.

"If you have just woken up early like Akari told you to do, then none of this would have not happened," Astral told him.

"Oh shut u-!" Yuma snapped before nearly getting crushed by falling debris. Thankfully he was fine, just a bit dusty.

"What was that?" He asked.

"Yuma, up there!" Astral pointed and Yuma looked up to see...

"Are those duel monsters but in the real world? What?" He gasped.

"And they're throwing more debris! Watch out!" Astral shouted.

Yuma jumped out of the way as a harpy monster tossed up some debris with her claws and threw it at where Yuma was before he jumped out of the way.

In doing so, he accidentally bumped into a vehicle.

Yuma turned to apologize to the rider and then his face lit up.

"Shark, help! There's these harpie ladies trying to throw debris at me!" He explained.

"Yeah I can see that," Shark noted as even more Harpy Ladies threw debris at them with their claws.

"We got to go or else we'll be crushed!" Yuma cried.

"Let's go," Shark grabbed Yuma by the sleeve and tossed him onto the back of his motorcycle.

"Ack! A little warning next time," Yuma told him.

"Put a helmet on. I'm going to break the speed limit to get away from those harpies," Shark told and Yuma quickly grabbed a spare helmet that Shark had in the back.

Shark revved up and went driving by to escape the debris that the Harpie Ladies were tossing towards them.

They missed by a hair though but the Harpies were determined and began to chase them down.

(Meanwhile)

Crow yawned as he heard the school bell ring.

He's late. I suppose she also warned me about that. Well, guess I'm waiting here a little longer, he thought.

He then saw a news van zoom by and some people were chasing it.

He then looked at the school and saw that some kids either ran out or had their heads poking out of the window to see the commotion.

What's going on? Crow thought.

"Did you hear? There's monsters in the real world, not holograms. There's even this motorcycle with two boys on it that are being chased by some Harpie ladies," he heard some people say.

Two boys? I have a bad feeling about this one, Crow thought as he revved up and drove as fast as he could.

(Back with Yuma and Shark)

"They're catching up to us!" Yuma yelped.

"I'm going as fast as I can," Shark told him but Yuma could tell the panic in his voice.

This is bad, this is bad, this is bad, Yuma thought.

A bit of debris flew past Yuma's ear and he flinched. The Harpies were getting more and more accurate.

"Hmmmm," Astral hummed which almost scared Yuma.

What the heck! Yuma thought angrily. Astral has been mostly quiet during the chase so him speaking up now was a scare.

"I was just wondering...if those are duel monsters then surely your own monsters could battle them," Astral suggested.

"What?" Yuma asked out loud before continuing the conversation in his head, Are you sure that's going to work?

"We don't have a choice. We must try it out!" Astral told him.

Ok fine! Yuma pulled out his D-Pad from his pocket and placed it on his arm. He then placed on his Duel Gazer.

"What the heck are you doing?" Shark asked, swerving to dodge another debris that got tossed at them by one of the Harpies. That actually made a scratch on his motorcycle.

"Trying something out. Go Gagaga Magician!" Yuma shouted and a magician with dark robes and silvery hair appeared.

"That worked?" Yuma asked, honestly very surprised.

"Yuma, what are you planning on doing?" Shark asked.

"Attack, Gagaga Magician!" Yuma shouted. The chains that were surrounding the magician began to spark with electricity and, with a quick toss, wrapped around two of the Harpie Ladies, destroying them.

"Whoa! Good job!" Yuma cheered and Gagaga Magician gave him a nod.

Shark was about to say something when he heard a low beeping noise. He looked down and cursed.

"What was that all about?" Yuma asked.

"I'm almost out of fuel. We can't keep going like this," Shark told him.

"No way! We can't afford to slow down now to preserve the tank," Yuma gasped.

"We're going to have to take a detour on foot," Shark said as he looked to see where Yuma and him could have a heads start away from the Harpies.

"There!" He sped up to a construction site and drove through it. He got off the motorcycle and tossed his helmet away, Yuma followed his example.

"Are you sure it's a good idea?" Yuma asked as the two of them went up some stairs that was sitting next to the beams.

"It's better than an open space. Besides, you gave me a good idea," Shark took out his D-Pad and put on his Duel Gazer.

The Harpies, there was now five of them, flew in and looked around. They were confused. Where were those two duelists that they were chasing?

"Coo, coo," they heard a voice and saw a small, black creature with a red lightning fin on its head. It seemed to be a Kuribo archetype.

The Harpies looked at each other and gave themselves a nod. Maybe attacking this monster will get the attention of the duelists.

Two of them went swooping in, ready to slash at Kurivolt when something unexpected happened.

From a small puddle of water, bubbles began to rise and out of it came out blue and white shark with a sharp, knife like dorsal fin appeared from the puddle and grabbed one of the Harpies with its mouth.

It slammed her onto the ground and sank its teeth deep, destroying the Harpie.

The rest of the Harpies shrieked as they saw their sister go down. And then the other Harpie got tied with in chains and got electrocuted by electricity which destroyed her.

The Harpies then looked up to see two figures running off and knew that they were the reason they lost four of their sisters.

They screeched and flew up to the beams to find the two duelists.

They couldn't find them so they started to slash at the beams, hoping that the structure would fall down with the two of them on it.

Thankfully, Shark and Yuma had rushed down to the bottom so they could escape quickly if the Harpies ever decided to try what they were doing.

However, one of the Harpies, a petite girl with pink wings and blonde hair, called out to the rest and one of the Harpies picked up a whole beam in her claws and threw it at Shark.

"Shark, watch out!" Yuma pushed him out of the way and braced for impact.

Only it never came...

"Blackwing Shura the Blue Flame and Bora the Spear, stop that beam!" A new voice shouted and two monsters appeared.

The one holding the spear sliced the beam in half while the other deflected the two sides of the beam away.

"What the?" Yuma asked and looked around for their savior.

It was a guy who seemed older than them but younger than Akari. He had spiky orange hair and had yellow markings on his face.

"You kids alright?" He asked.

Shark and Yuma looked at each other like: do you know that guy?

The guy raced up to them and held up his duel disk.

"Alright, bring it!" He shouted and the Harpies took it as a challenge.

They swooped in, only to get intercepted by the guy's monsters.

The speared one sliced one of them and the other tackled one of the Harpies down.

The third one however, had an opportunity to swoop in for a direct attack on the guy but he merely smirked at this.

"Let's do this, Black-Winged Dragon!" He shouted.

Out of nowhere, a large dragon with feathery wings and a beak appeared. He roared and created a whirlwind of black feathers.

The Harpie tried to fly away but it was too late. She was caught in the whirlwind and got destroyed.

Now this was when they figured something was up. The Harpies that got destroyed, fizzled out like they were holograms. Which was weird considering the collateral damage that they were doing.

"What was that all about?" Yuma asked.

Then the guy turned around and looked up and down at them.

"Which one of you is Yuma Tsukumo?" He asked.

Out of instinct, Yuma's hand went up to his key and he gripped it.

Shark narrowed his eyes and asked, "Who's the one asking?"

"My name is Crow Hogan and our dimensions are in danger," the guy replied which was not an answer neither of the boys were expecting.

"Repeat that again?" Yuma asked.

"Look, I don't have much time. I told a friend of mine that I would meet up with him with Yuma Tsukumo. You saw those harpies, you know something is not right," Crow explained.

"Ask him about what he is doing here a little bit more further. And then you can determine if he's friend or foe even if he did save your lives," Astral suggested.

I guess there's no harm in doing that, Yuma thought.

"Ok then. Why should we believe you?" Yuma asked.

"Listen, I just want to know if one of you is Yuma Tsukumo," Crow seemed to be looking at Yuma like he's suspecting him.

Yuma glanced at Shark and then at Astral who was floating beside him.

"Fine I'll bite. I'm Yuma Tsukumo and now will you tell us what's going on and what do you mean that our dimensions are in danger?" He asked.

Crow hummed before replying, "There's this group that want to destroy our dimensions. The monsters here are somewhat proof of that."

"What do you mean by that?" Shark asked.

"I...can't answer that. Well not yet, you'll have to ask her when we get there," Crow replied quickly.

Both Shark and Yuma had questions to add on though and Crow was terrible at explaining things.

"Look, my friend will be here any minute now and I told him that I'll meet up with him with you. So can you at least come with me to hear his explanation?" Crow asked, frustrated.

Yuma didn't know what to think.

Yeah this guy did save him but he was also a stranger who seems to know what is going on and yet us holding back information. And now he wants Yuma to come with him?

"If he knows about different worlds and what is currently happening in your world, wouldn't it be wise to at least listen to him?" Astral asked.

He's very fishy though. Even if he does have the answers, I can't just willing go with a stranger, Yuma thought.

"He did save your life, didn't he? Bring some trust to him," Astral told him.

"I guess you can be right...fine, I'll hear you out at least," Yuma sighed.

"Alright. Get on my D-Wheel," Crow said as he held his hand over his arm.

"Your what?" Yuma asked and Crow pointed to a black motorcycle looking vehicle.

"Another motorcycle ride huh?" Yuma sighed.

"Hold on, Yuma," Shark interrupted and Yuma turned to look at him and asked, "What's up?"

"Do you actually plan on going with him? I don't know about you but there's something off going around. Him knowing that something is off and is not telling us is awfully suspicious," Shark stated in a low voice so Crow couldn't hear him.

"I know but even then, he may be the only one that knows...well not counting this friend of his. Besides, he did save my life so I'm placing a bit of trust on him. I'll hear him out first and I'll decide what to do later," Yuma explained.

"You mean we'll hear him out. I'm coming with you," Shark stated.

"The more the merrier," Yuma said.

Crow, who has been waiting patiently, felt his Signer mark glowing and said, "Yusei is here. Come on, we need to go now."

"Already?" Yuma asked but Crow was already walking away to his D-Wheel and placed on his helmet.

"Are you coming or not?" He asked and the two boys followed him.

After they got on, Crow told them to hang on and revved up his D-Wheel.

He drove off and went to the feeling where his mark was telling him where the Head Signer is.

After a while, he spotted a red D-Wheel and a familiar face with other people.

Crow drove up to him and smiled at his foster brother.

"Yusei, you're here," he said.

Yuma peeked over and saw so many people standing around. He could just tell that they were duelists.

"Did you find him?" The tan, raven haired guy with a yellow mark under his left eye asked. He must be Yusei.

"Yeah and a friend of his. Oh, this is my friend Yusei. He's the one I was talking about," Crow explained.

"Ok, now can you explain to us what's going on?" Shark asked.

"You didn't tell them?" Yusei asked.

"I tried but it's better when you explain it," Crow pointed out.

Yusei looked at him before glancing at Yuma and Shark.

"Alright. My name is Yusei Fudo and as you can see, your dimension is being overrun by Duel Monsters. That's because of a group of people who want to destroy the dimensions. My team and I are gathering duelists from different dimensions in order to stop this group. I have recruited them and now, hopefully, Crow recruited you," Yusei said.

"My name is Yugi Muto and what Yusei said is true. I have seen someone like this group trying to do this before. I think it's best for us to team up to make sure that the dimensions aren't destroyed," the small, violet and yellow haired guy explained. He had a golden puzzle around his neck.

"Names Judai Yuki and I also saw that someone that Yugi was talking about. Believe me, I was also hesitant in joining too but my love for my world was enough to join the group. We will try everything in our power to save our dimensions," a brown haired guy wearing a red jacket explained.

Shark and Yuma looked at each other and they seemed to understand what they were saying. After all, they both have someone that they care about in this world.

"You got my attention. I'm in," Yuma said.

"Same here," Shark nodded.

"Alright! Let's do this! I'm Joey Wheeler by the way," a guy with yellow hair said.

"And I'm Asuka Tenjoin. We'll take this group down," a girl with long, blonde hair stated.

"Well what are we waiting for! Let's go!" Crow cheered and they all got on a D-Wheel. Yugi, Joey, Judai and Asuka with Yusei and Yuma and Shark with Crow.

The two of them revved up and drove as fast as they could. Something red began to glow on both Yusei and Crow and suddenly a large crimson dragon appeared and led the path for the two of them.

They followed the path and disappeared in a bright light, waiting to go to the next dimension where another member of Team 5DS was waiting.

A/N: hi hello, it's been a while. Hope this chapter was worth the wait.

Also I need to address a mistake of mine. It has occurred to me that Bonds Beyond Time might have taken place after Season 4 of GX or at least near the end. So just for this sake, Bonds Beyond Time in this fic has taken place during Season 4.

It honestly just occurred to me like two days ago. My bad!

Hope you enjoyed it!
