Synchro Rush

(3rd Person PoV)

"Hey watch it! Haha, Yuga, that tickles!" A green drone said as a very small boy with auburn hair was tinkering around.

The boy, Yuga, didn't answer to this. He seemed...distracted.

His mind wandered to what happened a couple of weeks ago.

(Flashback)

"Huh? What do you mean to quit working at Goha?" Yuga asked to a platinum blonde boy with glasses.

"I mean that working in Goha won't do anything in the long run if I'm correct on this," the boy replied.

"Correct on what, Nail?" Yuga asked.

Nail pulled out a laptop, typed something in it and turned it around to show Yuga.

"I found this on accident a while back. Based on the dialogue and actions here, this group is dangerous and will invade any dimensions they see fit. Depending on how long it takes them to get to whatever dimension, we might not have enough time. They plan on starting with the Rush Dimension which it doesn't take a genius to know that it is ours. They may invade today, they may invade tomorrow but all I know that they're coming and whatever you have planned will need to be put on hold until then," Nail explained as Yuga saw the destruction and the way people were getting blasted out of the way.

Yuga was speechless as he saw this. Why would anyone ever think of using dueling to hurt others like that?

He then turned his attention to Nail.

"When do you think this will happen?" He asked.

"That I do not know but all I know that we need to be ready. Tell your friends and allies, you're going to need them. Trust me," Nail replied.

(Present time)

It's been a while since his conversation with Nail and while there were no signs of an invasion happening, Yuga still felt uneasy.

Nail wouldn't lie and considering that the Goha Six were not dismissive of what Nail saw even after he quit and went to work at the Ramen place, Yuga had a deep feeling that he'll have to be on his guard.

Of course, it was kind of hard not to especially when the whole mine wipe and Yuga Goha thing happened.

Will we ever get back to normal? He thought.

"OW! Yuga, stop!" Kaizo's loud voice made Yuga flinch and made him pay attention to the drone.

"Sorry about that," the small boy apologized with an awkward laugh.

"Geez, you're more distracted than usual. What the heck is up with you?" Kaizo asked.

"I...well I was just thinking what Nail told me a while back. Guess I'm just...worried, I suppose," Yuga admitted while putting away some tools in his toolbox.

"Come on! Do you seriously believe what he told you? It's been such a long time since Nail told you that. If it was true, then it would have already happened but it didn't," Kaizo pointed out and floated beside him.

"..." Yuga went quiet at this. Kaizo was probably right but still, Yuga couldn't help but be worried.

"I'm going to school now," Yuga grabbed his bag and opened the door to his lab. Kaizo followed him.

He got on his bike and peddled off to school.

As he was peddling, his mind continued to cloud with worry. He couldn't help it. Yuga can't forget what he saw and what Nail told him.

Who knows when they'll come to invade? I honestly wished that this wouldn't happen but if it did, would we be ready? He thought.

But then, someone stepped in front of him which Yuga almost ran them over if it wasn't for Kaizo crying out, "Watch out!"

He came to a quick stop and looked up at the person.

"Sorry about that. Didn't see you there," he said.

"Yuga Ohdo?" The person asked. He didn't seem friendly based on his tone.

Yuga took a closer look and concluded that it was a tall man with brown wavy hair, blue eyes, tanned skin and had a mouth piercing.

Yuga got up from his bike and took a step back.

"Who are you?" He asked.

"I am Lancelot Usagi and I will be your opponent," he said.

"Opponent of what?" Yuga asked and the man held up a duel disk.

"Your opponent of dueling. If you win, then this dimension won't fall to the Multiverse Abolitionists," Lancelot stated.

Yuga froze when the man said this.

Multiverse...Abolitionists?

Oh no, is he apart of the group that Nail warned him about? Is the invasion happening now?

Kaizo made him snap out of it by shouting, "Yuga, run! I'll hold him off!"

He began to fly around Lancelot which made him swipe at the drone. He missed a couple of times before eventually summoning a monster to slice Kaizo down.

"Th-that was real?" Kaizo asked as he fell to the ground.

"Hmmm...you would make a good hostage. I'll send you over to Kin," Lancelot said and pressed a button on his bracelet, beaming Kaizo up in a flash of light and he was gone.

"Now time to chase the kid," he said but then...

Whoosh!

A small figure went skating by and their eyes met.

As the figure went by in the direction where Yuga ran, Lancelot took a step back.

"There's no way. This isn't her dimension and it's not like the Arc dimensions. Damn, and when she's here, he's not too far off. I better call my backup here and call in a D-Wheel," Lancelot said and pressed another button on his bracelet.

(Meanwhile)

A boy with teal hair was leaning on the wall to an elementary school.

He seemed to be looking for something as the kids went by.

Three kids were peeking out and staring at him. They seem like a year younger than the teal haired boy.

"What do we do about him?" A boy with blue hair asked.

"I wouldn't say he's trespassing but any more longer that he stands there could be considered loitering. We have to tell a teacher," a boy with purple hair said.

"Yeah but he seems like he's waiting for something...or someone," a girl with purple hair pointed out.

"Yeah but what can we do?" The blue haired boy asked.

"I don't know but we'll have to question him before the bell rings and we'll be late for class," the purple haired boy stated.

"..."

"..."

"..."

"I'll go talk to him," the purple haired girl suggested.

"Huh? Hold on, Romin!" The blue haired boy called out but Romin was already walking to the teal haired boy.

As she got closer, Romin noticed that the boy was holding onto a skateboard of some kind. That would explain the pads on his arms and legs and the helmet.

She mustered up her courage before saying, "hello."

The boy turned to look at her. "Hi?" He seemed confused.

"What are you doing here?" Romin asked, getting straight to the point.

"I'm looking for someone. Do you know anyone with the name Yuga Ohdo?" The teal haired boy asked.

He's looking for Yuga? Why? Romin thought before replying, "Hmmm, maybe. Or maybe not. Why are you asking?"

Before the boy could answer, an explosion can be heard and smoke invaded their sense of smell.

Kids began to scream and they could hear a crackle.

Then a young woman with red and blue hair, brushed into two large pigtails, appeared on a motorcycle of some kind.

"Oh no, they're here already," the teal haired boy gasped.

"Who?" Romin asked.

"My my my. If it isn't Rua from Team 5DS? Hmmm, I wonder if little Ruka is around here? No matter, all I know is that you're here to stop me and my partner. Well too bad," the young woman said in a singsong tone.

"There is no too bad because I challenge you to a duel!" Rua shouted.

"Fine by me. Ketsueki Ai will be your opponent!" The young woman exclaimed while pointing to herself.

"Let's do this!" Rua dropped his skateboard and got on it.

"Duel!"

Rua - 4000 LPS SC: 0

VS

Ketsueki - 4000 LPS SC: 0

Before Rua could take off in his duel board, he felt some weight behind him. He turned around to see that Romin had gotten on.

"What? That's dangerous," he pointed out.

"I still want to know why are you looking for Yuga," Romin stated.

"So you do know someone named Yuga Ohdo," Rua said.

"Hellooooo! Are we dueling or not?" Ketsueki asked.

Rua sighed deeply and said, "well hold on tight. This duel isn't going to be like anything you have seen before."

Romin could tell that he wasn't lying.

(Back with Yuga)

Yuga had no idea where he should continue running.

The ramen shop and where the Goha siblings are were top choices but could they be able to help him? Most likely yes.

Yuga regrets leaving his bike behind as he stopped for a couple of second to catch his breath.

I can't stop now. Kaizo sacrificed himself to help me get away from that man. I have to honor him, Yuga thought and just as he was about to run off some more, he heard a noise behind him.

It was getting closer and closer.

Yuga was about to take off when suddenly, someone grabbed him from behind his jacket and pulled him along for a ride.

"Ah!" He yelped and felt himself be steady on the back of a skateboard of some kind.

"Is your name Yuga Ohdo?" A girl asked.

"Who's asking?" Yuga asked, suspicious of this girl already.

"My name is Ruka. That man that you saw. Did he mention the words, Multiverse Abolitionists?" The girl asked.

"Yeah...what's going on?" Yuga asked.

"I'm on your side, I want to help you. There's a reason why he wants to duel you. It's a duel that decides your dimensions' fate. There are others like him and they're invading other dimensions like yours and mine. My team and I are gathering duelists from those dimensions to take down the Multiverse Abolitionists," Ruka explained.

"They...they wouldn't happen to summon monsters to make real damage and blast people out of the way...would they?" Yuga asked.

"So you know already? That makes things a little easier," Ruka sighed with relief.

"So wait, where are we going?" Yuga asked, realizing that Ruka was moving out of the way of pedestrians and she seemed to be looking around the city.

"I'm looking for my brother. Together, we'll be able to get out of this dimension for now to meet up with the rest of our team. Don't worry, once we've got a plan, we'll be able to return to this dimension and save it," Ruka explained.

"I-," Yuga was about to say something when someone behind them shouted, "I forcibly activate the field spell, Speed World!"

The area around them turned purple and an automatic voice from Ruka's duel board said, "Autopilot on. Stand by."

"Damn it! He caught up to us already!" Ruka cursed.

"Ruka from Team 5DS. I should have known the Signers would find out about this. But now, we shall have a duel. If I win, you have to hand over Yuga Ohdo to me so we can have our duel of fates," Lancelot stated.

He was driving on a blue and silver D-Wheel that was shaped like a horse.

"And if I win, you leave this dimension alone!" Ruka shouted.

"Heh, I accept those conditions. Huh? There's only three monster zones?" Lancelot asked.

"Of course, we're in the Rush Dimension which means that we're obliged to follow the rules of the dueling from this dimension. In this case, we'll be having a Rush Duel but not just any Rush Duel but a Turbo Rush Duel," Ruka explained.

How does she know about Rush Duels if she's from another dimension? Yuga thought.

"Fine by me, then," Lancelot said.

"Let's go, Turbo Rush Duel!"

Ruka - 4000 LPS SC: 0

VS

Lancelot - 4000 LPS SC: 0

"I'll take the first turn," Ruka said as she drew a card.

SC: 0 —> 1

SC: 0 —> 1

"I summon Sunlight Unicorn (ATK: 1800. DF: 1000), Kuribon (ATK: 300. DF: 200), and Spirit of the Breeze (ATK: 0. DF: 1800)," she started.

Three monsters appeared on her field and raced beside her.

They seemed to be have a conversation among each other because Ruka nodded and said, "You're right, Kuribon. I'll use Sunlight Unicorn's effect! Once per turn, I can excavated the top of my deck and if it's an equip spell, I can add it to my hand. If it's not, then it goes to the bottom of my deck."

She looked at the top of her deck and smiled.

"I add a card to my hand and set two cards down. I end my turn," Ruka stated.

"Then it's my turn," Lancelot said and drew a card.

SC: 1 —> 2

SC: 1 —> 2

"Since we can normal summon up to three monsters, it makes my strategy much easier. I summon Stellarknight Procyon (ATK: 1300. DF: 1200), Constellar Acubens (ATK: 800. DF: 2000) and Tellarknight Lyran (ATK: 1200. DF: 1600)!" He shouted.

He also had three monsters on his field.

"I then activate Tellarknight Lyran's effect. When a Constellar monster is summoned onto my field, I can add a Tellarknight spell from my deck to my hand. But not only that, when I normal or special summon Constellar Acubens, all Constellar monsters that I control gain 500 attack points," Lancelot explained.

"It's probably fine since he only has one," Yuga said but Ruka didn't seem so sure on that.

"That's where you're wrong! Because Tellarknight Lyran is always treated as a Constellar monster as well," Lancelot stated.

"Guess I spoke too soon," Yuga gulped.

800 —> 1300 ATK

1200 —> 1700 ATK

"Now I'll attack using Constellar Acubens. Aime at Kuribon, Starlight Claw Slash!" Lancelot shouted.

As his monster attacked Kuribon, Ruka kept a cool face on.

"I activate Kuribon's effect. When it's targeted for an attack, I take no battle damage, you gain life points equal to the attacking monster's attack points and I get to return Kuribon to my hand," she explained.

"What'll be the point of giving me life points?" Lancelot asked.

"Because I can activate my trap, Bad Reaction to Simochi! As long as this continuous trap is on the field, any time you would gain life points, you lose them instead. So instead of gaining 1300 life points, you lose them!" Ruka shouted.

"Gaaah!" Lancelot yelped.

4000 —> 2700 LPS

SC: 2 —> 1

"Heh...well played. But I still have a monster to attack with! Go, Tellarknight Lyran, attack Spirit of the Breeze! Starry Sword Slash!" Lancelot shouted.

Tellarknight Lyran made some quick slashes in the air and sliced Ruka's monster.

4000 —> 2300 LPS

SC: 2 —> 1

"I set this card down and end my turn. Now you have less life points than I do. You will lose and you will hand over Yuga Ohdo to me," Lancelot stated.

"No I won't! I believe in my deck and myself! This dimension will not fall!" Ruka shouted.

Yuga could feel the determination from her and it made him feel like he was in safe hands with a duelist like her.

"My turn! Draw!" Ruka drew up to three cards so she had 5 cards in total in her hand.

SC: 1 —> 2

SC: 1 —> 2

I wonder what does those speed counters are for, Yuga thought.

"Time to get serious! I summon Kuribon again and the tuner monster, Sunny Pixie (ATK: 300. DF: 400). I then use the Speed Spell, Lightning Rod. When I have at least two speed counters, I can select a card of mine and destroy. I choose Kuribon," Ruka said.

"Why would you destroy your own monster?" Lancelot asked with Yuga asking the same question in his head.

"And what's a tuner monster?" Yuga asked.

"Yuga...you're about to find out a coding in your Rush Duel that has been hiding under your nose. I summon Ebon Magician Curran (ATK: 1200. DF: 0). Now all the levels add up," Ruka said.

"Wait a minute. You're not summoning that, are you?" Lancelot asked.

Ruka only smirked at this.

"Level 1 Sunny Pixie tunes Level 4 Sunlight Unicorn and level 2 Ebon Magician Curran. The holy light of protection, shine now and become eternal life! Synchro Summon! A regal birth, Ancient Fairy Dragon (ATK: 2100. DF: 3000)!" Ruka shouted.

Electricity began to spark on her duel disk and where the extra deck would be, began to glow gold and a card came out of it and placed itself neatly on the field.

From green rings and white shining stars, came out a slender blue dragon and it roared.

"Synchro Summon? I never heard of a summoning technique like that!" Yuga gasped in awe.

"Now when Sunny Pixie is used for a Synchro summon of a Light monster, I gain 1000 life points," Ruka started.

2300 —> 3300 LPS

"Battle! Attack, Stellarknight Procyon! Eternal Sunshine!" Ruka shouted.

Ancient Fairy Dragon flapped her wings and a kaleidoscopic light shine brightly from them.

Yuga looked away as to not get blinded from the light.

2700 —> 1900 LPS

SC: 2 —> 1

"I end my turn," Ruka said.

Just like that? What kind of plan does she have? Yuga thought and looked at the card description of Ancient Fairy Dragon.

No way! Is that why she destroyed Kuribon? But she'll have to survive his turn in order to pull this off, he thought and looked at Lancelot.

Ruka felt her Signer mark glowing and thought, not only the location is close but so is Rua! I have survive this turn in order to pull off my strategy or to get to Rua first. It all has to depend on my set card and what he does.

(Meanwhile)

Rua — 2900 LPS SC: 2

Ketsueki — 3100 LPS SC: 2

On Rua's field, he has two monsters on it. A small alarm like clock that was shut in to show that it was in defense mode (Morphtronic Clocken. ATK: 600. DF: 1100) and a yellow machine dragon with tools for claws (Power Tool Dragon. ATK: 2300. DF: 2500).

On Ketsueki's field, a slender humanoid woman with pale green skin, teal hair, sharp fangs and wearing a magenta dress (Vampire Lady. ATK: 1550. DF: 1550).

"I activate my set trap, Strike Slash! When I declare an attack, until the end of this turn, my monster gains 500 attack points. Bloody Sideways Claw!" Ketsueki shouted.

1550 —> 2050 ATK

Her monster pounced on Morphtronic Clocken.

"And thanks to my trap, when my monster attacks a monster in defense position, I can inflict piercing damage!" Ketsueki shouted.

2900 —> 1950 LPS

"Now Vampire Lady's effect kicks in. When she inflicts battle damage, I can declare one card type and you have to discard that type from your deck to your graveyard. I choose Spell card!" Ketsueki crackled.

Rua made an angry noise at this as he discarded a card.

"Now I end my turn," Ketsueki said.

2050 —> 1550 ATK

"My turn then!" Rua drew three cards to make five.

SC: 2 —> 3

SC: 2 —> 3

"I activate the Speed Spell, Speed Storm. When I have three or more spell counters, I can inflict 1000 points of damage towards you!" He started.

A massive whirlwind appeared and rocked Ketsueki's D-Wheel, black with red marks looking like blood dripping from it, from side to side.

3100 —> 2100 LPS

SC: 3 —> 2

"And then I summon the tuner monster, Morphtronic Lantron (ATK: 200. DF: 200)," Rua said.

A small but bulky blue machine like monster appeared.

"You're going to do that Synchro summoning again, right?" Romin asked. She didn't know why but Synchro summoning seemed...familiar to her.

"Yeah, you got that right," Rua glanced at Power Tool Dragon who seemed to give him a nod.

"Level 1 Morphtronic Lantron tunes Level 7 Power Tool Dragon! The courage and power to protect the future of the planet is a revolution! Synchro Summon! Evolve, Life Stream Dragon (ATK: 2900. DF: 2400)!" Rua shouted.

The machine armor broke off from Power Tool Dragon as it got ingulf with bright yellowish light and as the light lowered down, a large yellow dragon that resembles Power Tool Dragon appeared and roared.

"As expected of a Signer," Ketsueki said.

"I activate Life Stream Dragon's effect. I can make my life points go up to 2000," Rua stated.

1950 —> 2000 LPS

"So you can evolve your dragon further?" Romin asked.

"Both Power Tool and Life Stream Dragon are very important to me. We have an unbreakable bond together. And now, I'll show you our bond. Attack, Life Stream Dragon. Life is Beauti-Howl!" Rua shouted with fierce determination.

Life Stream Dragon charged up an attack and shot it at Vampire Lady.

2100 —> 750 LPS

SC: 2 —> 1

"Alright!" Rua cheered.

"God damn it, you chiiiiiild!" Ketsueki screamed in anger.

"There's more where that came from. I set a card down and end my turn," Rua said.

Then his arm began to glow even more brightly red.

"Umm, is your arm supposed to be doing that?" Romin asked.

"I must be getting close. Huh? Ruka!" Rua suddenly called out.

There was another person who was riding on a Duel Board, Romin realized, and just like her, there was someone else catching a ride.

"Yuga?" She asked.

He gave a small gasp when he saw her.

"How close are we?" Rua called out to his sister.

"Up ahead!" Ruka said.

"Hey don't ignore us! Seriously, Lancelot! Couldn't you have placed a dent in her life points?" Ketsueki complained.

"I could say the same for you," Lancelot stated.

"Ugh, whatever. I draw," Ketsueki said.

Before she could say anything else, Rua and Ruka sped up immediately.

"Hey! Give a warning next time!" Romin yelped.

"Sorry but we don't have time to finish the duel. We have to speed up as fast as we can so we can be in sync," Rua explained.

"You and her?" Romin asked and Rua nodded.

Ruka was telling the same thing to Yuga.

"Does it have to do anything with your arm glowing?" He asked.

"Yes, we're going to be picked up for lack of a better word," Ruka replied.

Yuga opened his mouth to continue the conversation when he saw a bright crimson light and Rua, Ruka, Romin and him were engulfed in that light.

In a bright flash, they were gone.

"Damn it! Kin is going to skin us!" Ketsueki cried.

"No, I have faith that they'll return. They have to or else this dimension falls," Lancelot told her.

"Hmmph!" Ketsueki pouted.

A/N: yay, now we have all the team all planned out!

Expect twists and turns from here. Also, I suggest reading some of my Yugioh books that have the tag Wattpad360lore.

Why? Lore.

I already dropped in some hints of lore here and there but expect some more.
