She is the One who Watches us All
(There are going to be spoilers for some of the books that I have made/haven't made it)
(3rd Person PoV)
The brunette girl was sitting down and waiting. It felt like forever since she talked with them and since they left.
It wasn't like her to get impatient but admittedly, the thought of the dimensions being in danger did make her anxious. She gripped onto her sides thanks to this.
And then, a bright red light appeared and she looked up.
She smiled to see many figures coming this way and she stood up.
In a flash, four D-Wheels and two Duel Boards appeared and multiple different people appeared on them as well.
"Whoa! That sure took a lot longer than I expected," Crow noted.
"Is this the rest of your team, Yusei?" Judai asked.
"Yes and I suspect that a lot more duelists joined to fight with us," Yusei replied.
"Yep," Rua nodded.
It wasn't that long until someone noticed that she was there.
"Ray?" Yuzu asked, shocked.
Ray spread her arms out in a welcoming gesture.
"Welcome, duelists," she stated.
"Huh? Wait, who's this?" Yuma asked.
"Wait, I remember her. She appeared in our duel against Z-ARC and defeated him. Then she split our dimensions into four again," Shun spoke up and Ruri gasped.
"Wait, who's this Z-ARC person?" Joey asked.
"Would rather not talk about it," Yuya murmured.
"Yes, they are correct. My name is Ray and I was the one who called for help," Ray explained.
"Call for help? What do you mean?" Romin asked.
"I'm sure that you have heard from Team 5DS what's happening with your dimension or at least, a part of the story," Ray replied.
"Umm, excuse me? Ray, was it?" Yuga asked and got off of Ruka's duel board.
He looked around the group and shocked some people with his height and how young he looked.
"In my dimension, there was this guy who wanted to duel me. He mentioned this group called the 'Multiverse Abolitionists.' Ruka told me that they're a group that are invading other dimensions. I have a friend who saw their destruction on his computer so I believed Ruka when she told me. But what even is this group and why do they want to invade dimensions?" Yuga asked.
"Is this the group that you were talking about?" Aoi asked Jack who nodded.
"Their goals...are shrouded in mystery that even I don't know about but I can tell you what I do know," Ray explained.
Everyone got off the D-Wheels and Duel boards and stood around Ray in a semicircle. They also went around and began to introduce themselves among themselves. It took a bit but eventually they got it.
"Spill. Tell us what you know," Takeru started.
She nodded and began to speak.
"Their group name is called The Multiverse Abolitionists and their leader name is Kin. You'll recognize him if he doesn't take off his theater mask. Even I don't know their goals but I know how dangerous they are. The group is from an unknown dimension and are using unstable material to dimension hop which is what's causing real duel monsters to appear in the real world," Ray explained.
She then turned to the Signers and said, "when I saw this, I called for help and the Crimson Dragon answered me. They brought me the Signers so they could go and gather help from other duelists, specifically those with the 'game' spirit in them."
"Game spirit?" Yugo asked.
"Is it the 'Yu' in our names?" Yugi asked and Ray nodded.
"I guess I count as well in that case," Judai shrugged.
"And me as well," Yuzu said.
"The more help, the better as we can see that many duelists have joined," Ray nodded at Joey, Asuka, Shark, Shun, Takeru, Aoi and Romin before she added on, "and my counterparts as well."
"Counterparts?" Romin asked.
"She means us," Serena replied.
"Now that I think about it, you do share the same face," Joey looked back and forth between the Bracelet girls and Ray.
"We're getting off topic. Why didn't they say anything beforehand?" Shun asked and glared at Aki.
"Ray told us not to say anything until we make it to her so she can explain it herself. She's able to watch over our dimensions in that way so it's much more believable to hear it from her rather than us," Aki explained.
"Also it was dangerous to keep that information in the air because we were not sure how long it would take for them to invade each dimension. We know that they're starting with the Rush Dimension and they'll go from there. From the Vrains dimension, to the Arc-V dimensions, to the Zexal, to our timelines all the way to Yugi's time," Yusei added on.
"And we can see that they're starting with invading already if we were to go with what he said," Crow said, nodding at Yuga.
"He's telling the truth. I saved him from a premature duel," Ruka said.
"Speaking of which, what even is a duel of fates?" Yuga asked.
"From what I understand, Kin entrusted ten duelists with powers that if they win the duel against a duelist hero, then they're able to destroy the dimension much quicker. That doesn't mean we know which one is one of those ten duelists," Ray explained.
"We know of one, Lancelot, but I think his partner, that I dueled against, was there to throw us off if he wasn't so adamant in dueling Yuga," Rua said.
"So the rest of the duelists are going to be in our dimensions and we won't know who is who until we duel them?" Shark asked.
"Correct although I'm not worried," Ray replied.
"Well you should. What if we're not strong enough to beat them? We can't have what almost happened with our dimensions happen again!" Rin urged.
"That won't happen! I can swear it to you that it won't be the same. You were stronger than you were before," Ray assured her.
"You have new allies on your side both here and in your dimension. You're not alone in this. We won't let any of our homes be destroyed by The Multiverse Abolitionists," Yusei stated.
His words sent a chill down everyone else's spine but it wasn't a bad chill. It was more a chill that they want to get up and do something about it!
It was their home that they were going to protect! And they will defend it!
"That's great and all but how are we going to stop them?" Yuri asked.
"I'm guessing that we split up since there's a lot of dimensions to go by," Asuka noted.
"But how do we do that?" Ruri asked.
"Well first things first, the ones with the game spirit has to go to their dimension plus a Signer needs to accompany them," Ray explained.
"But why a Signer?" Romin asked.
"That's a great question but we're not the ones who are able to explain it. Somewhat," Crow replied.
"But aren't you guys literally Signers? You have marks on your arms," Romin pointed out. But something surprised her.
"Are they ready?" Yusei turned to Ray who nodded.
"They have been ready for a while," Ray said and the marks on the Signers began to glow.
A large crimson dragon figure appeared and dropped off four other people. They fell onto each other and grumbled to themselves. Four D-Wheels also appeared by their sides.
"This is why I don't like dimensional travel!"
"Well maybe we should ask for seatbelts (not)."
"Gee, great idea."
"Come on, we're embarrassing ourselves."
The four stood up and the Signers smiled at this.
"How is it back home?" Jack asked.
"Well, we rallied the best duelists to fight off the monsters while everyone else got to safety. Last we saw, things were going well," a man with brown hair and green streak in it replied.
"Any signs of duelists that weren't from our dimension?" Aki asked.
"No but I suspect it wouldn't be too long until they arrive," a man with silver hair and wearing a mask answered.
Everyone else looked at each other in confusion.
"Who are they?" Shun asked.
"They're our friends. They're more familiar with dimensions than us," Ruka explained.
"We're on your side, by the way. Don't be hostile," a man with scars on his face assured them.
"So are you Signers as well?" Ruri asked, politely.
"Yes, we are on a technical sense. We're what we call the Life Signers. I'm Grian, by the way," the final man, a small brown haired man wearing a red jumper, spoke up.
"I'm Joel," the man with brown hair and a green streak said.
"Etho," the man with silver hair added on.
"Names Scar," the man with scars on his face said before adding on, "I know. My name is a bit on the nose."
"Ok so you're able to explain why a Signer needs to go with us when we dimension travel?" Romin asked.
"Yeah so, with our marks and the Crimson Dragon's power, we Signers are able to channel the power through our Ace monsters, which in turn can make us travel through dimensions. We figured this out recently by the way," Grian explained.
"Which begs the question. How are you all going to split up if that's the plan?" Joel asked.
"As I was saying, those with a game spirit have to go to their dimension and a Signer needs to accompany them. But how to do is the question," Ray said.
"..." everyone went silent as they were in deep thought about how to best to travel to their dimensions.
"...can't we split up in half?" Yuma suggested.
"Huh? What do you mean?" Asuka asked.
"There's ten in total right? So why not half of our group start off with the beginning and the other half goes to the last one and we move bit by bit," Yuma suggested.
"So like Yugi, Joey, Judai, Asuka, you, Shark and I start with Yugi's time and end in yours? Is that what you're saying?" Crow asked and Yuma nodded.
"That's...not a bad idea, actually," Yusaku said. Him speaking up surprised some of them as he didn't say anything prior.
"Yeah, let's do that," Aoi nodded.
"Ok so I'm assuming that the rest of us go to his dimension if he's the last one?" Yuya asked and pointed to Yuga.
"Seems like it but what about the Signers? Who's going with who?" Yuto asked.
"I'll go with Yugi and Joey," Grian offered.
"I can go with Judai and Asuka. Yusei can tag along until it's time to go to his dimension if that's ok," Joel suggested.
"That's alright with me," Yusei nodded.
"I'll go with Yuma and Shark," Crow said.
"And I'll go with Yuya and Yuzu. Are we splitting up in your dimensions as well?" Aki asked.
"I guess so," Yuzu said.
"Before we go on, we have to discuss on your dimensions. There's something else that I haven't quite mentioned," Ray stated.
"Yeah, there are some people here who are also in our dimensions. Like Jack and Rua have counterparts in the Synchro Dimension," Rin spoke up.
"I wasn't really planning on going to your dimension so it's not a problem for me but for the twins...," Jack trailed off.
"Ruka, is it ok that we separate for this time?" Rua turned to his sister.
"I think it'll be ok for this time but stay safe!" Ruka told him and he nodded.
"Ok, which of the three other dimensions do you want to go, Rua? Well other than Synchro. It's dangerous to be in that dimension for you because you have a version of yourself there," Ray told him.
"Why is it dangerous?" Rua asked.
"If you and an alternate version of you touch, even if by accident, the consequences are dire. In more shorter terms, you die," Ray replied which shocked everyone.
"Uh yeah! I'm definitely not going to Synchro! So what other dimensions are there?" Rua asked.
"There's Fusion and XYZ next," Yuya explained.
"Then I'll go to Fusion," Rua stated.
"Then you're with us," Serena said and pointed to Yuri and her.
"I'll go to Synchro if that's alright with you?" Scar asked and Yugo and Rin nodded.
"Guess that leaves XYZ," Etho said.
"You better not make any funny business," Shun glared at him.
"Big Brother, be nice," Ruri told him.
"I'll join Yusaku, Takeru and Aoi then," Jack spoke up.
"That leaves Yuga, Romin and I," Ruka said.
"Alright, you have all split into groups. That's good. Remember, defend your dimension and defeat the Multiverse Abolitionists. The Dimensions must not fall!" Ray stated.
"We won't lose! Kattōbingu!" Yuma punched the air with enthusiasm and optimism.
"One last thing. Here," Ray took some cards and tossed them to everyone there.
"...these are blank. What are we supposed to do with them?" Aki asked.
"They're blank for now. When the time comes, the cards will fill up with what you need," Ray explained.
"Huh? Seems festive," Takeru said as he took out his deck and placed the cards in them.
"Alright, now go! Save your dimensions!" Ray called out as everyone got in a D-Wheel and/or Duel Board.
They revved it up and drove off, the Crimson Dragon engulfing them and in a red flash, they were gone.
Ray sank to the ground, tired. Who knew that it would have taken a lot out of her.
Then a voice spoke up.
"You forgot one thing. About Kin's own dimension," that voice said.
"...damn it! Well they're going to figure that out sooner or later, depending on whether the duelists, that they would fight, would speak up," Ray said, face palming at her own mistake.
"Eh, I guess it's up to me to explain it to them," the voice said.
"Be careful. They still haven't forgiven you," Ray said to a young man with grey and green hair who appeared beside her.
"I know but I still want to help out as much as I can. Just send me to where you think I'm needed," the young man said.
She nodded.
Be careful, everyone, she thought.
