—Minutes, hours, years—

From the first drop of morning dew

To the last encore of orchestral crickets

An eternity of the ocean's waves

Pushing and pulling against the

Infinite grains of sand

Forever captured in the conch's memories

I'll wait between the boundless gorge

Separating inhale from exhale

Between the flip of a coin and its landing

Between the anticipation and the dive

For you, I'll wait,

I've always waited, I don't mind waiting—

—But please—

Why does the thought of you waiting for me

Churn my heart so?

If I run as hard as I can,

So much that my world spins around, and all

I can hear are the blurs in the background, and all

I can see are the coarse chokes of my breath, and even

If I crash and fall towards the promise we made,

As the last song,

The last wave,

The exhale,

The landing,

The dive,

The pieces still left of me,
