Background: Born to a family of Danish witches, Egon lived a modest life in a village not too far from
Copenhagen, working as a Fisherman. He married his childhood sweetheart Marie, who was originally from Norway, at about 17-18. When he was 20, Marie gave birth to his first child, Harald. It was now the beginning of the 11th Century and Egon decided to move his family to the new world. Finding his new home among fellow Danes, as well as Swedes, Norwegians, Icelanders and Finns in a village where Mystic Falls would one day be founding.

It was in this new home that Marie gave birth to three more sons: Dag, Jannick and Magnus. All four boys eventually tapped into their magical powers and became confident witches, like their father.

Shortly after arriving to his new home, Egon befriended two Norwegians, Mikael and Esther. Egon and Esther got on well after discovering the two were both magic users. Over the years the two families grew very close.

Egon's four sons were fully grown by the time Henrik Mikaelson was mauled to death by a werewolf. Feeling for Esther, even though it went against his deep respect for nature as a witch, he and his sons helped Esther complete the Immortality Spell, which turned the Mikaelson children and Mikael himself into the world's first vampires.

This was enough to activate a dormant werewolf gene within Egon and his sons, though after their first transformation, they noticed that they still retained their magical abilities and could transform at Will, without the power of the full moon. Egon to this to believe they were being punished by nature for their crime of helping to create the vampires. A punishment indeed as Egon could only watch as Marie grew old and died.

Egon decided that he and his sons would try to right their wrong and they began to hunt their former friends, The Mikaelsons. The Original vampires, for their part, proved to be formidable opponents. The war between the two families lasted five centuries with neither side getting a kill. It ended in the 1600's when Egon and Mikael met and a truce was negotiated.

Over the years Egon and his sons decided to study law in order to become lawyers and blend in with human society.

Egon met a group of likeminded super natural beings including, vampire Andrew Thomas, and together they founded the city of Oakridge, Alabama.

As of 2023, Egon is retired from the law profession, having been made a Judge of the Alabama Circuit Court, but he is still active in the affairs of Oakridge as a founder.
