Happy Reading,
The main entrance of Sonakshi's house opened and closed without any noise.
"Kaha thi tum? Kab se wait kar raha hu."
"Sorry na! Ab zyada bhao khaoge toh mai wapas jaa rahi hu."
Preeti had sneaked out of the house to meet Pandit in the middle of the night.
"Asha Aunty ne dekh liya na to kal mera saman aur mai Ahmedabad ki train me honge." Preeti looked back at Asha's house and then handed a packet to Pandit.
"Aaj kya tha dinner me?" Pandit sniffed the packet, earning a small punch from Preeti. She pulled him by his arm in the small gali between Sona and Munna's house.
When they were in the safety of the lane, Pandit opened the packet, took out the tiffin, handed a spoon to Preeti and took one himself. With a big grin on his face he opened the lid with aniticipation and the dish of the night was ... (Any guesses?)
"Tinde!" He screamed loud enough to wake all the houses on the street.
"Bela Chachi aayi thi?"
She nodded.
"Tumne apni plate ke saare Tinde yahan transfer kar diye?"
She giggled.
"That's not fair." Pandit shut the lid with a thud.
"Pandit" Preeti stopped him. "Moonlight. Mai. Tum. Tinde. So romantic!"
"Very. Drama karne ki zaroorat nahi hai. Mai ye Tinde finish kar dunga." He dugged the spoon into the dish and began chewing it with full distaste.
"Waise Pandit... Sameer aur Naina me tumhe kuch alag nahi dikhta?" Preeti tried her best to ring the bells of his mind.
"Sameer ka to pata nahi par Naina toh kal college me kuch zyada hi alag alag dikh rahi thi." He said while finishing the last few bites.
Preeti took out something from the packet again. Pandit opened it with suspicious eyes.
"Gulab Jamun" Pandit screamed with double enthusiasm.
Preeti took out a spoon and began eating with him. As they started eating Preeti with unsure words began telling Pandit about Naina and her inhibitions regarding Sameer. Pandit was shocked that Sameer never told them anything about Naina. Preeti made him swear that he won't tell Naina or Sameer that she had told them everything about her.
"Toh tum mujhse kya chahti ho?" Pandit had his eyes fixed on the last piece of Gulab Jamun left.
"I don't know but jitna maine Sameer ko dekha aur observe kiya hai wo mujhe accha ladka lag raha hai. Kya pata koi misunderstanding ho hum dono ko Jijajee ki help karni chahiye." Preeti said.
"Jijajee?!?" Pandit was a little shocked.
"Dekho please mana mat karna. Pleeeeaaassee." Preeti requested.
"Theek hai." Pandit finally gave his consent.
"Ye last piece tumhara." Preeti sacrificed the last bite for him.
Pandit smiled and picked up the piece. He raised it to his mouth's level but noticed the greed in Preeti's eyes. He held the spoon closer to her mouth and she ate it in one go.

Naina entered the University's gate. No one gave her any attention to her, post the chipku girl make up she did.
"They must have forgotten about it." she thought.
The campus was oddly empty. She walked in. After a few steps she noticed a crowd assembled in the lawn. She peeped in and heard guitar strings and a familiar humming. A few more steps into the lawn and she knew who it was. Sameer.
"Was he going to do a O O jaane jaana performance for her? That'll be fun. Par pighalna nahi hai Naina." She thought and moved closer to the crowd.
Over the heads of around some 50-ish people she could see Sameer sitting on the wooden bench with a guitar in his hand.
"So far so good!"
Next to Sameer, on the same bench was sitting the girl who always reminded Naina that she had to visit a shoe store. The queen of annoyance - Miss Sunaina.
(pronounced - Shoo-Naina/Shoe-Naina; according to your taste)
Naina melted then and there, not with love but with red,hot anger. She could smash Sameer's guitar on Sunaina's head. She didn't realise when he began whistling and broke into a song.
Dil Mera Chura Lo,
Aankho Me Chupa Lo,
Apna Bana Lo Sanam.
(Na na na na na
Ha ha haa
Na na na na)
Chura Lo Na Dil Mera Sanam
Bana Lo Na Apna Sanam
Ke Tere Bin Na Jee Sakenge
Ke Tere Bin Na Mar Sakenge
Kuch Bhi Na Kar Sakenge
Chura Lo Na Dil Mera Sanam.
Chura Lu Kyu Dil Tera Sanam?
The limit crossed for her when Sunaina opened her mouth to sing.
Masala Baat Lu,
Mai Pyaz Kaat Lu,
Churi kidhar gayi?
Uff!
Hai Nal Khula Hua!
Mai Keha Raha Hu Kya,
Tu Sun Rahi Hai Kya?
Tu Sun Rahi Hai Kya,
Mai Kah Raha Hu Kya?
Tera Diwanapan Hai Ye!
O Bekhabar, Kitchen Hai Ye!
Ye Kyu Yaha,
Utha Dhua Na Jane Kya Jal Gaya!
Sunaina looked at the other girls and Naina narrowed her eyes.
Tere Bin Na Jee Sakenge,
Tere Bin Na Mar Sakenge!
Kuch Bhi Na Kar Sakenge.
Chura Lo Na Dil Mera Sanam.
Chura Lu Kyu Dil Tera Sanam?
The music kept reaching Naina's ears. They kept singing but she stopped paying attention.
In her sense overpowering anger she couldn't even realise that the song might be for her. For the first time the anger she had with her choice, subsided for a while, and a strange fear of being torn away from Sameer raised it's head and even if she wasn't in touch with him for a long time, she knew he somewhere liked her and there was an odd sense of security in her with this thought. She felt disturbed, to say the least.
Naina turned around to walk away.
Accha Hua Jo Pyar Ki Pechan Ho Gayi.
Dete The Jispe Jaan Wo,
Anjan Ho Gayi.
Mausam Toh Mai Nahi Hu,
Jo Aaunga-Jaaunga,
Rootha Jo Ek Baar Toh,
Wapas Na Aaunga!
Naina turned to face him but Sunaina....
Chura Lu Na Dil Tera Sanam?
Bana Lo Na Apna Sanam
Ki Tere Bin Na Jee Sakenge
Ki Tere Bin Na Mar Sakenge.
Hum Soch Kar Kahenge.
Naina felt like singing the last part herself.
Dil Mera Chura Lo,
Aankho Me Chupa Lo,
Apna Bana Lo Sanam.

Naina didn't wait for the gang to join her on her way back home. She came out of her department. She was disturbed. She couldn't focus on any lecture that day. This was not her characteristic self.
She stopped in her tracks.
"Yeh wahi besharam, bad-dimag, padhaichor ladka hai Naina. Ek galti do bar nahi karte." She tried to explain herself.
Naina saw a small kid in ragged clothes. He looked around, as if waiting for someone. He looked in the direction of the mini Amul cafe in the campus. Sameer came out of the cafe with a sandwich in his hand and handed it to the boy. The kid smiled when the sandwich came in his hand. Sameer smacked the boy's shoulder playfully and walked towards the parking. The boy hopped his way out of the university gate.
Naina was so absorbed in the scene that she forgot that it was impossible for a beggar to enter the university's premises. She just smiled and wondered if he had actually changed. She felt the storm in her settling bit by bit.
Sameer was hiding behind the rows of trees, he wasn't visible to Naina but she was in the field of his sight.
The boy was asking for money outside the campus. Sameer was out of change money. He had an idea. If he could sneak the boy inside the premises of the university and give the boy something to eat in front of Naina then he could shoot two targets with a single arrow.
When Naina walked out of the gate he turned around and smirked with satisfaction. He ran his fingers through the hair falling on his face. His typical winner pose.
"Aise nahi pategi"
Sameer heard Pandit's voice and turned around with a little shock.
Preeti, Pandit, Swati and Munna were all standing behind him.
"Hum sab jaante hai." Munna said and Sameer could feel his happiness sinking and shrinking. He became friends with MunDit to get closer to Naina but the purity of their bond stopped him from making some actual use of the duo in his selfish motives. He feared what lay ahead.
"Naina ne hum dono ko tum dono ke baare me bataya tha..." Swati said.
"... Aur hum dekh rahe hai ki jab se tum uski life me aaye ho tabse wo kuch lost lost si rehti hai." Preeti continued.
"Tumhare paas do option hai. Pehla, Naina ka peecha chod do." Swati suggested
"... Wo to tum karoge nahi." Preeti completed Swati's sentence. "Toh... Humne socha ki hum hi tumhari madat kar de Naina ko manane me,Jijajee."
The jijaji that Preeti said was accompanied by a wink and smirk from her side and it took Sameer a whole minute to understand that there were actual people willing to help him in getting Naina back.
When his shock turned into relief Munna and Pandit jumped over him into a typical SaMunDit hug.
