~after the meal~

I mutter a quick thanks and rush up the stairs to my room, "Finally..." I slump down on my bed and try and fall asleep. "I wonder how my dog is doing...WAIT! I forgot to feed him!" I think aloud as I jump up once again and rush downstairs.

I grab a basket and stuff it with fresh bread then rush out to the garden in the back of the castle. I am careful enough to not bump into anything or anyone in my rush and make it out back. I walk through the garden to a little patch of bushes, I walk through the bushes and come out to see a thick forest of trees.

I walk along a path I made and soon make it to a clearing with a tiny little stream and a fenced in area. I approach the fence while saying "d/n! I brought you food!" I soon realize my mistake as I see a person with my husky, turn to face me.

I immediately freeze, "w-who are you? h-h-how did y-you get here?" I stutter terribly in fear. The figure is wearing a black cloak...where have I seen that before? ...

"your the guest we had today!" I say out loud as I remember.

The Guest pulls down his hood to reveal short brown hair and light blue eyes..and CAT EARS!? (sorry i accidentally did old-Laurence eyes :3 i fixed it though!)

"what are you!?" I whisper quietly in shock, sure I've heard of cat-eared people but only in fables!

The Guest smiles as if expecting this, he bows and politely says, "I am Laurance from the village of Meteli. and as you see I am what is called a "neko". "

"So..a "Neko" as you say is a person with cat ears?" "and a tail" he adds as he pulls out a dark brown tail from his pants.

d/n walks up to me and nuzzles the bottom of my dress, I look down and smile as I pet him. "so he isn't dangerous is he d/n?" I say with a slight laugh, all d/n does is bark and lick my face. Laurence I believe he said his name is, walks over to d/n and pets him. "he is a mighty cute dog isn't he?"

I laugh, "I'm surprised d/n didn't attack you! I always see him chasing around stray cats"

He smiles slightly, "well we nekos might have cat ears and tail but we mostly smell of humans."

I nod, "that makes sense." Laurence looks at me and tilts his head to the side in a questioning manner, "does the King know of your dog?"

I look down sadly, "no he does not...my father is allergic to dogs..thats why I keep d/n here! right d/n?" I scratch d/n behind the ear as he barks.

I take out the bread from my basket and break it into chewable chunks, I take out a plate and set it on the grass with the bread on it. D/n sniffs the bread then starts eating it.

We continue talking for what only feels like a short while until I look up at the sky and see it start to turn a shade of orange and pink, "its time for me to go back home, it was nice meeting you Laurance!" I say with a smile as I pick up the empty plate and place it in my basket.

I then stand up and am about to walk away when Laurance grabs my hand.

"Goodbye my Lady" he says while he kisses my hand.

A slight blush creeps onto my cheeks as I step away from him. "g-goodbye Laurance!" I quickly turn around and run into the quickly darkening woods.
