The chase continues.

The metal giants roar as they give chase to the cat and the monkey, with thundering booms exploding with every step from the steel behemoths.

"Blake, what's your location?" A voice comes in on Sun's scroll. It was Ruby's.

"Uh... 17th Avenue! Meet us on the freeway!"

With those words, both then hop off the roofs as the blade of the Atlesian Rex nearly slices both of them in half. Both begin running down the streets as both robots begin chasing them down.

Soon, they approach the highway where they begin hopping on cars and trucks to escape.

Torchwick shouts into his comms, "I'll chase them down, give me fire support!"

Suddenly, much to both Sun and Blake's horror, a blue aura envelopes the Atlesian Rex while the Paladin is covered in a pink one. The Rex charges at the two so quickly that they manage to only dodge the blade that bisected the car they were on due to happenstance.

"Holy crap!" Sun exclaims as he stumbles back to his feet.

"I don't think we'd have survived that even with full aura."

"Sun, watch out!" Blake shouts as she jumps to the other side parries a bullet barrage by the Atlesian Paladin. Both of their eyes widen when they looked at the Paladin, it was in mid-air, still covered in that pink aura as it guns them down. 

Due to the combined might of the two mechas, the chase became an intense game of musical chairs between dodging bullet-fire and dodging the bus-sized sword moving at them at seemingly the speed of a bullet.

And, like musical chairs, the number of chairs to jump on was rapidly declining.

"Uh... Blake?"

"I'm aware!"

As they continue to jump car after car, they realized that they're left to their last two vehicles. The Paladin begins to glide down as it aims all of its missile launchers at the duo before launching the swarm of rockets at the two.

However, before it could explode, a glyph suddenly appears turning black and slowing down the missiles' descent long enough for these to detonate before touching anywhere near the car shocking Torchwick. He begins hurriedly looking around for the unknown interceptor but he didn't need to look long because on the other side of the highway, Weiss pirouettes into the scene, launching projectiles of ice at them as she skated on the side.

"I leave you two for a measly 3 hours and suddenly you're already facing off two of Atlas' newest robots? Honestly." Weiss lightly jests while skating alongside Blake, Sun, and the confused family of four in the car the two were standing on.

However, it would seem as though Torchwick would not let up. Raising the Paladin's arms, he aims the heavy machine guns at the three and begins to open fire. With some quick thinking, Weiss hops atop the car with help from the two above before doing her twirling dance which ends with her stabbing the roof of the car eliciting screams from the terrified civilians within.

Sun looks to their book and shouts, "Look out! The sword bot!" He points at the Rex which begins to coalesce the blue energy around it, charging up for another charge. 

This time, to meet it is the caw of a massive black and red crow as a barrage of bladed feathers begins to pepper the robot, forcing it to use the stored energy to dodge those instead. The giant nevermore then swoops down, flying near the cars before swirling into a small red vortex which transforms the feathers into a flurry of roses as Ruby hops on the car, with her red half-mask adorning her face now. 

"Aaaaaaaalright! Team RWBY's aaaaall here!"

"Er... where's Yang?" Blake asks, confused by her statement.

"Wait, we forgot Yang!" Ruby shrieks in panic after digesting those words.

"Why the Xiao Long faces? I always come back like a boomer-Yang!" Yang suddenly announces as she leaps from an overhang above them, landing her motorcycle atop the Paladin. Alongside her was a seatbelted Dove and a ready Neptune.

"Sorry we took long, we had to wait until Yang would recover from the alcohol. Luckily, Yang's 'friend,' a guy named Junior, had a good cure for it!" Dove apologizes in his trio's stead.

Yang nearly vomits remembering said "cure".

"That goop was so bitter," Neptune comments, trying to hold on to his dinner. 

"Yang!" Ruby shouts happily.

"Hiya sis- whoa!" Yang is cut off when the Paladin begins trying to shake Yang's bike off of its back.

Thinking quickly, she then unbuckles Dove, asking him, "Can you drive bikes?" The confused blonde boy proceeds to answer, "Yeah, but why-" but is interrupted as Yang climbs out and tells him, "then take care of my bumblebee for me."

She then hops out, gently pushing the bike off the robot's back before repeatedly slamming round after round into the Paladin's hull before being shaken off alongside Neptune, however, unlike Neptune, she manages to not get yeeted off the bridge.

Sun, seeing Neptune fall, then tells Blake he has to save his best friend to which Blake nods. He then jumps off.

Dove parks the bike on the side of the road, realizing what she was indirectly trying to tell him between the lines. He is too weak to keep up in this fight, so she placed him away from the fight... a small frown appears on his face as he drives the bike away.

Meanwhile, back with Boboiboy and team JNPR, the six of them begin running through the road.

"I'm getting news coverage of a highspeed chase currently undergoing on 17th avenue," Pyrrha tells everyone as she runs with her scroll floating beside her.

Boboiboy nods but then sees everyone running too slowly for his liking and quickly becomes impatient and shouts, "I don't have time!"

He transforms into Lightning and blasts off. Ochre tries to catch up but it seems even she can't keep up with a sufficiently riled-up Boboiboy. While yes, she is as fast as him, their stamina is worlds apart, literally. The unique biology that gave him his weirdly more pudgy look also gave him far more stamina.

As she watches his back quickly fade in a bolt of lightning, she pants, awaiting the rest of her team.

Back with team RWBY, finally realizing they were causing way too much havoc, Ruby decides to take the fight somewhere where there are fewer people to endanger.

With a semblance-boosted rush followed immediately by Cookie being summoned once more, Ruby uses the combined momentum to tackle the Atlesian Rex that Torchwick was in down into the bottom of the skyway which was a large cemented expanse.

The rest of the girls and the Paladin followed suit. With a loud thud and various acrobatics later, the four members of team RWBY stand side-by-side against the two battle mechs standing in front of them.

Ruby aims her scythe at the two piloted robots as she says, "Give it up, Torchwick! It's 2 against 4! You can't win this!"

The scoff Torchwick makes over the microphone makes the smug air around the orange-haired man palpable. Bantering as well, Torchwick replies, "Little Red, Little Red, when will you learn? I'm used to being at worse odds than that kid, comes with the career. But discounting even that, that's where you're so wrong. So, so wrong. Hell, I can confidently say neither me nor my compatriots here would need to move to take you down really."

Ruby becomes confused which Blake decides to explain. "Ruby, that's not just him and a henchman beside him. There are three others in that Atlesian Paladin and they gave Sun and me a hard time. I don't know how... but those guys are just like that shadow kid we fought at the Docks. They're the same as Boboiboy! They have those watches on them."

"What?!" Weiss whisper-shouts before scolding Blake, telling her, "Why didn't you tell us?!" However, Yang interjects her interjection,  by proudly telling all three of them, "Either way, we can still take them down. Right?"

"You're right Yang!" Ruby declares as she stands in front of her group while posing her iconic cover art pose with her scythe slung behind her with the blade facing down. "As future huntresses, we have a job to do." The rest of team RWBY then take their stances as well as they prepare to take down the double threat.

The two sides then go into an abrupt silence as they stare each other down, moving no muscle, not even to breathe. The tension is high and the slightest move would commence the battle.

*GROAN*

The metallic groan of the metal bridges around them suddenly snaps the tension and like a crossbow firing, team RWBY launches towards the two mechas.

Meanwhile, Boboiboy zooms through the road before realizing something. "Hold on. I need to contact the authorities as well. That's what a responsible hero would do." With that, he raises his arm and shouts, "Elemental... triple... split!"

The singular orange trail then splits into red, blue, and yellow ones as the Wind and Lightning rush off to team RWBY's last known location, while Earth contacts the authorities.

The more agile forms of Boboiboy were left aghast at the wreckage they were presented with. With a quick nod, both split off further as Lightning goes to rescue team RWBY and Wind rescues the survivors of that wreckage.

With team RWBY, the four weren't doing so well. They were littered with cuts, bruises, and burns, with only Ruby and Yang, still left standing. Blake was on the side, dragging Weiss's unconscious body out of harm's way. Cookie is now unable to be summoned for a bit as he was cleaved in half earlier as well and thus, needed time to recuperate inside the cloak.

"I'm impressed. You four managed to keep up with Atlas' latest machines despite being complete rookies as huntresses. Well done." Torchwick says while applauding them. Whether this was sarcastic or genuine, who's to say really?

Yang fires back, shouting, "And we would've totaled both of those scrapheaps if it weren't for your little friends inside."

With a smug tone, Torchwick fires back with a challenge. "Oh? Do you really think so? Alright then, you two versus just me."

Ruby mutters to Yang, "Remember, they've broken our auras already. We have to fight carefully this time..." Yang growls but acknowledges those words with a nod.

Ruby then begins to look back on her memories about the fight earlier, looking for ways to counter...

Each time they tried to make a smoke screen with ice and fire dust, the Atlesian Paladin's pilots would use that strange pink power to push the mist down, each time they tried to use their mobility advantage, the Atlesian Paladin would wave its blue power and suddenly both the Atlesian Rex and the Paladin were untouchably fast, and each time they tried overwhelming firepower, the robot's exterior hull, and the projectiles all transform into food before turning back into metal, canceling out all and any damage.

However, unlike earlier, it seems that Torchwick is planning to fight genuinely by his lonesome this time using only the Rex.

This brought some hope for the two sisters who begin to nod at each other with some renewed confidence. If they can't beat him here, the man's want to get rid of them could probably mean them buying enough time for the backup to arrive.

With that thought in mind, both sisters rush in with a flanking maneuver.

"Yang! Desolation of Smog!" Ruby shouts as they cross each other and fire an ice-dust round and incendiary shell into vaguely the same spot which creates an explosion that blankets the area in white mist. With the new cover, both girls begin zooming through the fog firing shots once in a while. They can't afford to get hit any longer as they've broken their auras and thus no longer have their semblances or their barriers.

However, to get rid of those foolish thoughts of a possibility of victory, he merely uses the thrusters found on the Atlesian Rex and blows away their smokescreen while they were in mid-air before slapping both into the ground, dislocating one of Ruby's legs while making blood run down Yang's face as the root of her hair gets ripped off slightly.

"Valiant effort you two." Torchwick says mockingly while clapping but then faces Ruby before telling her, "But... that'll be the last time you and your little friends will be interrupting my plans." He raises the large mechanical blade and prepares to bring it down on Ruby but then Yang jumps in front holding her gauntlets out like a shield in a desperate attempt to take the shot.

Tears fall from Ruby's eyes as she watched helplessly behind Yang. Her mind was flashing back to all those years ago when she and Yang went off to the woods to go look for Yang's mother only to be ambushed by a Beowolf. She remembered how Yang stood in front of the beast the same way she is doing now and just like then... she felt helpless... USELESS even... she then remembered how a man in a red metal suit with black hair that had a white streak on it saved them.

As the blade goes down, the sound of thunder striking could be heard as a lightning bolt strikes the area. Everyone's collective eyes widen in shock.

Five minutes earlier, somewhere else. Boboiboy Wind could be seen hovering through the wreckage, saving those that were trapped in their cars or dangling, when he notices a bright blue light anchored on the pillar of the skyway.

Opting to investigate, he realizes it was Neptune's Tri-hard stuck to the wall with him desperately grabbing hold of an unconscious Sun.

"Wake up man! You know how bad I am with heights!"

Seeing his hand slipping off of his spear, Neptune begins to panic. Wind Boboiboy luckily however gets to them first and cushions them with a platform made of wind.

"Oh, sweet holy moly!" Neptune gasps out as he lets go of his spear.

Wind brings both of them down to the ground before asking Neptune, "What happened?" Still somewhat shaken up by what happened, he decides to give an abbreviated version of the story.

"We went to see Yang's friend to look for more info on Torchwick, but it was a dud. Then we were told to fight a giant robot on the bridge. After that, I got knocked off and Sun tried to rescue me. But then a stray missile almost hit me but Sun shielded me from it. It knocked us into the wall but I managed to catch him. Then you showed up."

Wind nods at this and proceeds to ask, "Where are they now," to which Neptune points in the general direction of the battle. Wind nods and informs Neptune, "I've dialed an ambulance to this location. Sit tight and make sure Sun's alright. I'll get to them." He then calls Lightning and Earth and tells them where he is and where he is going which both nod.

Neptune nods before shouting, "Thank you," to a running Boboiboy.

Meanwhile, with Earth, he had just finished reporting the incident to Ozpin and is already making his way to where Wind said to meet him. But that's when he meets a familiar face.

"Dove? What are you doing with Yang's bike?"

"Huh? Oh hey. Nothing... she told me to return this back to Beacon..."

"What's with the sad tone? And why are you going away? The girls might be in danger."

"I'd... be more of a hindrance to them anyway..."

Boboiboy wanted to refute the man... but he didn't have the time to spend with the man to tell him otherwise. Instead, he could only tell the man, "We'll talk about this later alright? I'll get back to you after." He then calls the other two and tells them, "Whichever of you is nearer, we need to reform to get us all there quickly!"

Back in the present, Ruby's and Yang's eyes shone in awe after seeing the visage of the man in red armor appear before them in a bolt of lightning only for the light to die down. The visage of the man transitions seamlessly to Boboiboy's, showing how similar their faces are to each other. Black and white hair, hazel eyes, and even a round face.

Torchwick watches in shock as Boboiboy just blocks the full blow of the Atlesian Rex with only a pair of semi-transparent of his signature lightning swords. Only a slight crack on the one blade appeared to show the damage. His eyes were enraged seeing the state of his teammates currently.

"Ruby, Yang, team RWBBY is going to have a good long talk in a bit... for now, step aside."

Yang gulps seeing Boboiboy like that before nodding shakily saying, "S-sure thing, Mr. Lightning Bolt." She then drags Ruby away.

Suddenly, two balls of golden light zip towards Lightning Boboiboy before slamming into him. This makes him revert to normal, dropping the blade.

Roman realizes things have escalated far worse than with the girls due to that look in Boboiboy's eyes and so immediately jumps back.

"What do you think you're doing? Open fire!"

As the two mechas open fire with every gun present on them, Boboiboy rushes forward, performing a triple split. Wind begins blocking bullets with a tornado, while the two others begin to run behind him.

Forced by fear, Torchwick rushes forward while bringing down the blade only for Lightning to block the blade with his own, smashing his lightning sword. However, he quickly creates a new one which he uses to hold the blade as he tries to throw the mecha as Earth launches both Atlesians mechas into the air.

Using Wind's power as a springboard, he then jumps into the air. Earth then follows up by shooting a barrage of concrete bullets up at where Lightning and the robots were. Lightning looks at this and smirks. Coated in golden electricity, he then dashes towards the robots still in the air before wailing on both of them in a blinding display of slashes so bright that the light manages to meld into the shape of an orb while aligning them both so that he could fit in-between both of them.

He then jumps off of a chunk of concrete above him and slashes into both with a sword. "Lightning cleave!" He shouts as he passes beside both with his lightning swords acting like wings. As a flex, he then twirls both before performing a dual sheathing while dispelling them gradually to give the impression of sheathing a blade.

He drops to the ground panting before all three reform back into normal Boboiboy.

This attack causes both mechs to dismantle into their various parts save for the cockpits. With a hiss, both dismembered robots open their suits blowing out smoke as their inhabitants come out.

Torchwick coughs before grunting out, "I did NOT expect that," before coughing some more.

Boboiboy then stands triumphantly as he declares, "Give it up. You have nowhere to"

But his eyes then widen as he froze in place after seeing who came out of the Paladin. "Yaya... Ying... Gopal?!"

And yet they did not respond, merely looking at him with eerie glowing eyes.

"Oh? You know these kids?" Roman asks smugly.

"N-no..." Boboiboy helplessly mutters out as he falls to his knees, tears falling from his eyes.

Quickly wiping away his tears, he runs towards the three while Ruby, Yang, and Blake all shout for him to stop, but he doesn't listen and just when he is about to reach the closest of the three, which was the boy in green, he suddenly ducks before uppercutting Boboiboy, sending him back.

Before anyone has the time to react, the girl in yellow follows up by running toward Boboiboy and assaulting him with a rapid barrage of punches which is finished off by the girl in pink slamming Boboiboy into the ground using a sort of gravity-based power.

Boboiboy caught off guard, could only cough hard and look at the three with a look of betrayal and confusion.

Pushing herself up, Yang cocks her gauntlets back and lets loose a barrage of shots to get the three off of Boboiboy which does nothing as the lady in yellow seemingly dilates time before casually slapping the buckshot away.

Like a protective mother bear, she does not stop but rather, takes this opportunity to use the little aura she's generated to activate her semblance and power up with the damage she's sustained.

She goes in for a punch only for the woman in pink to fly at her and, in a shockwave, catch both of her hands. Pink glowing eyes meet fiery red ones as both pushes against each other in a contest of strength.

Just as Yang felt like she was getting the higher ground, the younger lady in pink speaks her first words. In a monotonous tone, she declares, "Gravitational force." Suddenly, it was as if the very act of standing up became the equivalent of this same girl pushing down on her from above.

Ruby looks in horror as Yang bursts into a bloody mess from the vessels ruptured by the sheer gravity presented by the girl in the pink hijab.

"No, no!" Ruby shouts and in a desperate bid to fight back, she then crawls toward the two in a desperate bid to help but couldn't.

Boboiboy then forces his body to stand up as he shouts at Ruby to stand back. He pants as he forcibly fights against the increased gravity used on himself. 

He then shouts at Roman, "What did you do to them?!"

Roman pretends to be offended as he walks up to him alongside his partner-in-crime. "Me? Why I'm insulted, Orange. I didn't lay a single finger on them." However, a smirk makes its way up to his face as he and the enraged orange-haired boy meet each other eye-to-eye.

"But the same can't be said for my... employer," Torchwick adds cryptically. Boboiboy flashes back to the Grimm parasite from long ago which nearly killed Nora and Ochre.

This is the straw that broke the camel's back. Boboiboy screams a guttural howl as he shouts out, "Elemental Triple Split!" The glyph illuminates the area and three elements pop out. A small explosion of energy occurs as he breaks out of the gravity-binding. As the light dies down, Earth, Water, and Lightning appear.

Earth looked ready to fight, Water showed a face of cold fury, and Lightning showed a face so angry, he might actually break Boboiboy's no-kill rule. Speaking of which, he then raises his hand and attempts to use his watch again, only to be stopped by Earth.

"Lightning, don't risk it... I know you are angry. We all are, but accessing the second tier is too risky. Without Ochobot to fix the watch, we will get messed up if you break our watch."

"Tsch..." was Lightning's only response as he creates a pair of lightning swords.

With that, all three clones rush at Torchwick only to be intercepted by their former friends. It was Lightning vs the yellow time-warper, Ying; Earth vs the gravity bender, Yaya; and Water vs the matter-manipulator, Gopal.
