We finally meet

Dipper pov

I heard a loud ring right next to my ear. I groaned softly as I slapped my phone screen and slid my phone closer to me. I opened my eyes and realized that it was Mabel's phone that was right next to me. I turn off the alarm and read the small memo that Mabel always writes in her alarms.

"I forgot that we were supposed to see that magical creature that knew everything," I mumbled, "I guess I should wake everyone up."

I regret staying up all night and now I'm tired as shit. We spent hours reading that night trying to figure out what we needed to do in order to successfully start the ceremony. We had some luck, but not enough to place the final pieces of the puzzle together. We already knew the basics like the location, who needs to be there, and what day, but that's all we have.

I turned around and noticed that Mabel has half of her body and Pacifica. I see Sammy just chilling on top of Waddles which I'm not too surprised.

"Guys, we have to do an adventure today," I told them, "You two need to wake up before I hit you guys with pillows."
"No," Mabel mumbled, "Five more minutes."
"The alarm already woke me up, so now I have to wake you up," I told her.
"Noooo," Mabel moaned.
"I can't get up since Mabel is on me and that means I can still sleep," Pacifica said.
"Dipper wait!" Mabel shouted.

I start to throw stuffed animals at them and Mabel still wouldn't get up. I sighed and started to hit Mabel with a pillow until she got up.

"Fine," Mabel sighed, "I'll get up."
"What time is it either way?" Pacifica yawned.
"It's eleven," I answered.
"Can we eat and then go on the adventure?" She asked.
"Yes, we're definitely eating something before going," I said.
"We need to go to the store and buy an offering for the cat creature," Mabel said, "I gave him chips last time."

We all went to get ready for the day. After getting ready we were all downstairs putting on our shoes. We all froze when we saw Ford walking into the living room and into the kitchen.

" I wonder if he remembers anything?" Pacifica whispered.
"I hope he doesn't remember because then I'm as good as dead," I reminded her.

We all stay quiet until he comes back into the kitchen and stares at all of us for a second before drinking some coffee and leaving us be. I felt my whole soul leave my body and come back in a matter of seconds. I hoped that spell worked because if it didn't then we have another thing to worry about other than the ceremony.

Stan came downstairs and smiled at us, "Morning kids."
"Morning Stan," Pacifica said.
"Ford woke up and grabbed coffee," Mabel said.
"Alright, but that coffee was from last night," Stan said, "Did anything else happen?"
"He just stared at us for a couple seconds and then left," I said.
"He's always quiet in the morning expect if he's up all night on an experiment then he's a little loopy," Stan explained, "I'll watch him and report if anything seems off."
"Okay," We all nodded.
"We're going into town," Mabel said.
"Don't spend too much money and don't do anything that will get you hurt," Stan told us.

We all left the shack and walked further down the forest before I teleported us closer to town since we were all still a little tired. They all went to the diner and grabbed a bite to eat and coffee to wake up.

"What if we bring the creature pancakes?" Pacifica asked, "Maybe it'll like it."
"Maybe, does the cat creature have anything against pancakes?" I asked Mabel.
"I don't think so," Mabel answered, "I've only been there once."
"Is you know who coming?" Pacifica asked.
"I should text him about it and see if he wants to come and he could meet us in the forest," I mumbled.

I texted Bill what the plan was and asked if he wanted to come. Our food came and Mabel ordered pancakes to go so we can bring that as our offering so we don't have to go into another place. We talked about the plan and the ceremony for a bit while eating. Pacifica explained the moon and the theories that Dr. Pathway was telling her about it over the phone the other day.

After eating I checked my phone to see if Bill had responded to my message yet. He told me that he was going to meet us in the forest when we were done eating. I told him that we would be there since the only one that hasn't finished is Mabel and she eats slow sometimes.

After Mabel finishes we get the to go order and walk into the woods. I texted Bill that we were in the woods and that he can teleport to us. We wait for a couples minutes until he finally arrived.

" Bill, you took so long," Mabel said.
"Sorry, I was handling something," Bill told us, "I can teleport us to the place."
"No, I want to do it," Mabel pouted, "I can do it with my stone."
"You can teleport?" Bill questioned.
"Not exactly, but I can make this portal," Mabel said.

Mabel remembered what the monster had taught her. She handed the pancakes to Pacifica and started to trace the ground with her stone. When she's was done it glowed and a portal appeared on the ground.

"Jump in, but be careful when you land," Mabel said, "I landed on my butt last time."
"This doesn't seem safe," I mumbled.
"It's safe," Mabel said.

Mabel grabbed Pacifica's hand and they both jumped in. The portal closed the momenet Mabel jumped in. Bill explained since Mabel was the one who made it when she goes through that means it closes so no one else can go after her. It was a cool protection thing that the stone has.

Bill teleported himself and me to wherever the cat creature lived. Mabel and Pacifca were waiting for us, but they were both confused why we didn't follow after. Bill explained what happened and Mabel understood that she had to be the last one to leave next time.

As we all walked as a group towards the cave Bill kept staring at the bag that had the pancakes inside.

"Why do you guys have a carry out box?" Bill asked.
"It's an offering for the creature," Mabel smiled, "So they can give us answers."
"You know you don't have to do that," Bill told him, "I've been here before."
"You have?" I quesitioned.
"At the time I needed to know if ruling the world was a possibility and it was, but my timing was off," Bill explained.
"What do you mean the timing was off," Pacifica asked.
"I was missing Sapling for my plan since I can't open the bubble by myself," Bill told her.
"Welcome back," The creature purred, "What have you brought me?"
Mabel took the book from the bag and smiled, "Pancakes! The syrup and butter are on the side since I don't know if you'll like it."

The creature does look like an overgrown cat. Mabel opened the syrup and butter and placed it on the pancakes before leaving it on the floor. We see the cat used its powers to eat the pancakes.

"Thank you for the treat," The creature responded, "You may enter my home."

We followed the creature and we were led to a larger part of the cave with rocks on the ground.

"I know that you know why we're here," Mabel said to the creature.
"I know everything," The creature said, "Of course I know why you're here."

The creature laughed and stared at Bill and I for a couple seconds before turning to Mabel with a wide smile. Something didn't feel right, but I don't know what yet.

"We don't want to play any games," Bill told them, "We just want answers and then we'll be on our way."
"You are no fun," The creature sighed.
"We have the location, the date, and the people, but we don't know what to do," Mabel said, "I know that you have the answers that we need to complete this successfully."
"You know that I cannot give you all the answers that you needs," The creature told her, "I cannot give you what you seek, but I can can you who knows what you are looking for."
"You seriously can't tell us the ceremony chant or anything?" Pacifica asked.
"I can only say certain things, but I can see multiple futures," The cat creature told us, "I pick the best ones and tell you."
"We don't want to know if we succeed or not," Mabel stated, "We just want to know the chant or whatever makes the bubble break."

I can feel Bill hold my hand tight as the cat stares at me aggressively. I suddenly feel something fluffy wrap around my waist and pick me up.

"Let him go," Bill shouted, still holding on to my hand.
"What are you doing?" Mabel asked.
"What's going on," I said.

Bill suddenly let's go of my hand and falls on the floor. I look at the creature and he waves me in front of Mabel.

"Stop that," I said, "Why are you grabbing me."
"He has the answers you seek inside his mind," The creature told us, "He dreams about the day before it even happens."
"Birdskull," I mumbled, "That nightmare I have is the answer to our problem?"
"He almost died last time," Mabel said, "We're not doing that again."
"I haven't seen birdskull since I've started using my powers more," I told it, "How can even see him again?"
"There has to be another way," Bill said, "You almost died last time you talked to him and we're not going to risk it."
"Who says that he has to die?" The creature told us as he placed me down, "Death only happens with the suppression of his powers."
"I can show you how the ceremony is supposed to look like if you wish to know," The creature said.

Bill got up and held me as we all stared at each other. Was there some sort of catch to seeing this vision? Do we have to offer it something else?

"No," Mabel said.
"All we have to do is go to birdskull and he'll give us everything we need in order to do the ceremony," Pacifica repeated.
"Correct," The creature said.
"Thanks," Mabel said, "We have to get going now."

We all left the area and I was a bit scared that the creature was following us, but it wasn't. Mabel made the portal and we all went through it at the same time. We were back in the forest and the atmosphere felt less tense than before which was a blessing.

"Mabel, was the cat thing always that stressful?" Pacifica asked.
"Last time the cat didn't act like that," Mabel explained.
"I've never seen the cat act like that either and I've been to it also," Bill said.
"I wonder what's up with the creature today," Mabel mumbled.
"It stared at me and Bill for a bit for some reason," I added.
"That was really weird," Mabel said.
"I've never seen them act like that before," Bill said, "I think it was what you guys gave them that made them act that way."
"How are we supposed to know that the pancakes would make them act that way?" Mabel crossed her arms.
"Maybe the creature was having an off day or something," I said, "What we need to focus on is Birdskull."
"How are we supposed to contact whatever birdskull is," Pacifica asked.
"I still have those drawings," I said, "Maybe they have an answer too because I remember writing things one them."
"That means we would have to go back to the house and Ford is awake so it's not the best idea to bring Bill along." Mabel reminded us.
"I'll message you if anything pops up with the ceremony," I told Bill.

He nodded and then disappeared into the woods. We walked back to the shack. When we entered we saw Stan watching TV by himself.

"Did you find what you were looking for?" Stan asked.
"Kinda," Mabel answered.
"At least it's something," Stan said.
"We're going upstairs to look at some of my drawings," I told him.
"Birdskull might have some answers," Pacifica told him.
"You guys aren't going to contact it, are you?" Stan asked.
"I don't think so, but I do remember him telling me something," I explained, "I just don't remember what from the top of my head."
"Alright," Stan said.

We went up the stairs and into my room. Mabel went to her room and grabbed some of the drawings that she took from my room a bit ago. We sat down on the floor and stared at them.

"Some of these drawings are concerning," Pacifica said.
"We know," Mabel and I said.
"Look at this one," Pacifica pointed out, "It has the woods background and writing on the back."
"That was from two years ago," Mabel said.
"What about my recent one? I remember writing a lot of stuff on the back," I told everyone.

We all grabbed drawing with writing on the back of them. Each drawing looked around the same with the woods background but from different angles.

"Did Birdskull say anything to you?" Mabel asked.
"I don't remember," I told her, "But what I wrote seems similar to what I saw in my nightmares."
"Do you think the nightmares were a parallel to he ceremony that we need to do," Pacifica wondered.
"That's a strong possible," I mumbled, "I see the X in the sky. I see two people chanting and then the nightmare ends."
"We solved it!" Mabel cheered.
"At least it didn't take twenty years," Pacifica said.
"Now I have to remember this," I sighed, "I'll have to send these to him also."

We finally have everything and now we have to make sure everything goes to plan.
