The Forest
Dipper POV
"Mmm..." I felt something on my face.
I opened my eyes and I saw this thing on my face. Its skin was a dark purple to almost black, blood-red wings, a tail, and bright blue eyes. For a second I thought a snake was on my face and then I realized that snakes don't have wings.
I yawned softly and looked at what I think is a fairy, "Hey."
The fairy flew up and onto my lap. I sat up and rubbed my eyes making sure that I wasn't going crazy. From the late-night reading, I'm not surprised that I already meant something magical.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
They just stared at me. I placed my hands out and they climbed on my palms and sat down. Whatever this is may not understand me.
"I wish I could understand you," I smiled.
Their eyes glowed for a second and a smirk creeped out, "Yes, you can."
"Woah!" My eyes widen, "That's so cool."
"I have never seen you before mortal," They answered.
"I come from somewhere far and nowhere as magical as this place," I answered.
"I sense great power inside you," They said, "You have a great gift."
"I don't know what you see in me, but I don't have anything special about me," I explained.
"Not special? Only a few people each century can have this gift," The fairy explained.
"Are you a fairy? Or a pixie?" I asked.
"I am a fairy from a different realm... I have been trapped in this world for years," The fairy explained, "You are one of a kind."
"I'm nothing special," I muttered, "I'm just a person. No magic powers or great intelligence."
The fairy sat crisscross and cupped their palms together as they closed their eyes. I saw them glow and they opened their eyes and stared at me.
"You are more than what you think," They said, "Whisperer of Monsters."
"What of monsters?" I questioned.
"You will see soon..."
"What does that mean? I want to know," I muttered.
"You will soon, but for now take this,"
They bit my finger and then my forearm started to burn. It wasn't a bad burning feeling, but it was like when you put your finger over a candle for a second. I suddenly felt a panic course in my body because something in my mind kept telling me it was bad.
"What is it?" I asked, "Take it off."
"It has always been a part of you," They told me while going near the window, "The Key."
"Wait, take it off!" I shouted, "Don't fly away!"
I ran towards the window but the fairy already left. I sighed as I stared outside and saw them fly away. I looked at my arm and saw what caused the burning feeling. I saw a bunch of familiar symbols on my arm with a triangle in the middle.
I realized why the markings were so familiar to me now. The book! There was a page with those words that appeared on it. It had these same markings, but on the top of the page, it said forbidden.
I guess this is bad...
I need to figure out a way to hide this. Then I remembered that Mabel made me hold on to her makeup because she didn't have enough room in her bag!
I went through my stuff and found Mabel's foundation. I have no idea what I'm doing but it's something. I looked at my arm and realized that it was big.
"I hope this works or I have to find the fastest YouTube tutorial," I muttered.
I started to aggressively put foundation over this huge mark that kind of looks like a tattoo. In all honestly, it looked pretty cool, but it's the page dis says forbidden on it. I don't know how everyone's going to react.
It started working and I was beyond excited until it didn't. It was going out fine and then it started going and it reappeared over the makeup.
I looked in my dresser to see if I brought any long sleeve shirts. Yes, I brought a long sleeve shirt! I guess I have to buy a few more since I'm in a pickle.
"Kids, breakfast is ready!" Ford shouted.
"We got waffles!"Stan yelled.
I put on the shirt and went downstairs to join them for breakfast. Mabel was a few seconds behind me. We were all in our nice pajamas.
We all sat down and ate together. Stan asked us if we had any plans for today. Mabel told Stan that she wanted to head to the nearest mall or walk around the town.
I honestly need to find a way to hide the mark that fairy gave me. If makeup doesn't work then maybe something magical might work. I told Stan that I might walk around the woods and see if I can find something interesting.
Ford told me that I couldn't go in alone and that he or Stan had to come with me. I sat in silence for a bit thinking about a plan. I sighed softly and said that I'll walk around the town or go to the mall with her.
As we finished our breakfast Stan told us that he had a small gift for us. He said that after we get the dress to go to the gift shop that he was running.
After we finished we went to get dressed. Since I was halfway dressed I wore blue shorts with an orange long sleeve. Before I left I looked at the loose floorboard under my bed. Should I take the book with me?
I stared at it and I decided not to take it because what if I lost it. I went to the gift shop and Stan smiled at me softly.
"You can take two things from this gift shop," Stan smiled.
"Thank you so much," I smiled back.
I looked around and I saw a baseball cap. It was blue and white with a Pinetree in the middle. I placed it on my head and felt the grin on my face. I looked around and a necklace that looked pretty cool.
It was a yellow triangle with the Big Dipper constellation on it. I put it on and told Grunkle Stan what I picked out. I raced outside and took the path towards town. I need to make sure that they don't see me going into the woods.
I texted Mabel what I was going to do and she told me that she'll cover for me. This is why I love her so much! Mabel also told me she grabbed a grappling hook. Of course, she did.
When I was far enough I raced into the woods. I just needed to! I started to walk around the woods because I was getting tired.
I started to look around and I saw many things. Some of the trees were different colors and there were some cool plants too! I started to hear small whispers and I stopped to look around.
I see these white figures in the distance. I hide behind the trees and saw them spinning around in circles and running around. They were playing with flowers and laughing. They had black masks with plain white eyes with a smile, they didn't have legs and looked like cartoon ghosts.
"They look so cute," I muttered.
I felt something touch my leg and it was one of the ghosts. I think there ghosts... I saw it had mushrooms on its head.
"Beep,"
"Hello," I smiled softy.
"Beep Beep,"
"I guess you can only say beep," I chuckled.
The little ghost bit my shirt and pulled me towards the rest of them. I saw the other ghosts and they started to waddled around me.
"This feels like you're going to sacrifice me," I muttered.
"Beep,"
They all grew mushrooms and placed them in front of me.
"Thank you," I smiled.
These mushrooms were a light purple and they slightly glowed. One of the ghost had another plant in its mouth and placed it in the pile.
"That tickles," I laughed.
They all started to nuzzle up to me and I'm a little ticklish. One of them pushed up my sleeve and they saw the mark.
"Beep?"
"Oh... I don't know what it means," I answered, "A fairy gave it to me."
"Beep,"
I looked up and saw this really tall creature. It had horns and moss with mushrooms on it. He was completely black and had a mask as well but it was white with black eyes and mouth.
"Beep!"
They all got off me and started to circle the creature. I felt my the color on my face disappear as I looked up. It's so tall.
"Thank you for not harming my children," The voice was so deep.
"Why would I hurt them," I mustered out.
"Most humans are dangerously ignorant," He explained, "They harm things that don't make sense to them in their mind."
"That's awful," I muttered.
"I have lost children because of them..." He answered.
"I'm sorry," I said.
"For what?"
"For people being stupid," I explained, "People are awful something."
"I am surprised," He said as his kids jumped on his back.
"Why?" I asked as I picked up the mushrooms and plants.
"That you can understand me," He muttered.
"Here, you're kids started to give me mushrooms and plants," I didn't know how to answer.
"Beep, gift, beep," They can speak.
"It is a gift," He started to explain, "To help with a problem."
I looked at my arm and then up at him, "How did they know?"
"We know all...whisperer of monsters, " He answered, "My kind has roamed this land for thousands of years. We know much."
"What do I do with these?" I asked.
"One mushroom mashed and a leaf from the plant. It will cover the mark to the human eyes and it can only be taken away if water is spilled," He explained as he walked away with his kids, "Once it is on you do not need to put it on again. Water will make it visible again so be careful... they feel safe around you."
I see the creature leave and before it full left I took a picture. I need a journal...
I started to stuff the mushroom in my pockets and they all fit. Since I found what I was looking for I could meet up with Mabel.
I started to walk back and then I realized that I didn't know where I was going. What if I typed in the address of the mystery shack on maps... would that even work?
As I walked around trying to find signal I tripped down a small hill.
Third Person
Dipper stumbled down the hill and landed in a small opening. He groaned and looked at the sky for a second before getting sitting up.
As he sat up he saw many flowers on one side of the opened space. He saw a couple rocks with moss in the small flower field.
Dipper crawled in front of the flowers and placed on of his hands on a rock. Dipper brushed his thumb against the rock and looked in the center of the field.
"Why does this place feel familiar," Dipper muttered.
Dipper felt this strange atmosphere surround him as he kept staring at the flowers. They were bright yellow flowers with some blue flowers.
"I feel like something is here..." Dipper sighed, "But what?"
Dipper saw a piece of paper on the ground and it looked like the same paper from the journal he found. Dipper remembered what he was reading and mumbled.
"meteforis venetisarium." He finished it.
He waited and nothing happened. He chuckled softly as he stared at the rock.
"I wonder what I did,"
Dipper got up and his phone suddenly got signal. He followed the directions to get to the shack so he could follow the path to get to town.
If Dipper had waited a bit longer he would have witness something magical.
The ground started to shake and the rock cracked. From the flowers there was a human body laying on top of the plants.
His eyes opened and he took his first breath.
