Overlooked

Third-person

"Ahh!"

Mabel and Dipper dropped everything before racing outside. They saw people panicking as monsters appeared.

"Why are they all here?" Mabel muttered as she carried Waddles.
"Bill told me that they were coming because they think it's safe because of me," Dipper whispered.
"We have a recuse mission now," Mabel said.
"Ford is here..." Dipper remembered.
"Oh shit," Mabel sighed.

The two went to assure the townspeople that everything is okay. A few people didn't believe them at first but then when they mentioned that they were related to Ford and Stan they believed them.

"Come here fire breathing fox," Mabel tried calling it light a dog, "Come here~"
"Mabel, it's not a dog," Dipper muttered.
"Maybe it'll work," Mabel pouted.

The fox started to follow Mabel as they both went to save more creatures. Dipper told the fox to go back home since it wasn't safe here. Dipper saw a plaidypus which was interesting.

It was trapped inside a plastic container with a familiar net covering the exit. Mabel went to go save it. Waddles started to oink aggressively and jumped out of Mabel's arms. Waddles started to pull Mabel's shirt so she wouldn't go near it.

"Mabel, stop!" Mabel took off the net.
"Here you go little guy," Mabel smiled, "Why did you want me to stop?"
"What the hell!" Dipper shouted.

Dipper went over to the next and tried to grab it. With the little skin that peaked out of the bandages, he felt burning. He quickly dropped it.

"Why didn't it burn you?" DIpper pouted.
"I don't know," Mabel muttered, "Was this the same net that you saved Waddles from."
"Yes, and Waddles tried saving you," Dipper told her.
"Oink!"
"Maybe since you can talk to monsters it has something to do with it," Mabel muttered, "I have a theory but I may be way off."
"What's the theory?" Dipper asked.

Dipper picked up the creature and cradled it.

"Maybe.. you're not fully human," Mabel said, "I know it sounds crazy but will explain your powers."
"It makes sense," Dipper muttered, "But a part of me wants to be fully human."
"I mean look at the bright, we're living everyone's secret dream of exploring and living a fantasy world," Mabel picked up Waddles, "Maybe we need to think about the possibility that you're not human. Even when I am but we're still together in this! As older sibling code I'll be with you till the end."
"Thanks, Mabel," I smiled.
"More pets?" Mabel smiled.
"I don't think we can keep him," Dipper told Mabel, "He has a poisonous apparatus on their hind legs. Which will be bad if they end up fighting."
"Okay... no plaidypus then," Mabel muttered, "But he is cute."
"We should recuse more animals," Dipper said.
"GIDEON NO!" Pacifica shouted.
Mabel didn't realize that she said this, "I'm coming, Pacifica!"

Mabel raced towards Pacifica's voice and Dipper followed with a smile on his face. The way Mabel spoke and ran with Waddles in her arms.

Dipper went near the woods dropped up the creature and then went back to Mabel. They saw Stan, Ford, Gideon, Candy, Grenda, and Pacifica standing near the foundation.

"Beep! Beep!"

The little ghost was trapped in the net panicking. Gideon had a weapons pointed at the ghost and that was already in enough pain.

Mabel slapped the weapon out of Gideon's hands and shouted, "Why the heck are you pointing that thing at it!"

Dipper quickly kicked the net off since he couldn't touch it. He sat down and comfort the poor thing.

"It's okay," Dipper muttered, "It's okay."
"What are you doing?" Ford asked, "Those things are dangerous."
Dipper's eyes glowed as he shouted in anger, "You humans are the dangerous ones!"

He held the creature tight. Mabel kicked the weapon away and stood next to Dipper.

"Do not yell at me," Ford told him.
"No! I hate your stupid net that hurts the monster and me, I hate those stupid weapons too! Everyday I start to understand more why they hide in the woods," Dipper said.
"Why are you guys trying to kill the monster?" Mabel crossed her arms.
"I was trying to stop him," Pacifica told Mabel.
"Ford, said those things were dangerous," Gideon told everyone, "I'm not letting that roam around."
"Wait," Stan said, "Was that the same net that gave you serve burns?"
"It doesn't hurt me at all," Mabel grabbed the net, "Not a single burn... Dipper has the bandages to prove it."
"That's impossible," Ford said, "I've designed and tested theses nets and these shouldn't burn humans."
"Well, it does okay!" Dipper shouted, "I'm surprised that the monsters and demons haven't destroyed this town."
"They already tried," Gideon said.
"No, those were demons from another realm," Dipper said, "There's a difference."
"No, there isn't!" Gideon shouted, "A lot of people were hurt, but luckily we stopped them."
"Let's not talk about the weirdmageddon," Candy said.
"They don't know anything about it," Grenda said, "Give them some slack."
"No, if he's going to say stuff like that then I'm going to comment," Gideon said.
"You guys refuse to tell us anything about it! We know what it is because we read books and asked the monsters," Mabel shouted, "I hate that we have to struggle to learn about the history of this town."
"Sweetie," Stan said, "We just didn't want to tell you because it's better that you don't know."
"That a powerful dream demon almost enslaved humanity because younger Ford made a deal with him that came back and bite him the ass years later?" Mabel crossed her arms.
"..." Ford was silent.

Gideon realized that if what Mabel was true that means she would have gotten that information in the history books. He knew that Mabel was lying about something since that part was never in the books.

"Those aren't in the books," Gideon said.

Mabel realized her mistake and couldn't figure out a lie. Dipper stood up realized that he needed to expose something's so they wouldn't get caught.

"The reason he wasn't successful was because he didn't have the monster whisperer," Dipper quickly said, "If Mabel and I came when we were suppose to than... he would have been successful. All he needed was me to convince the monsters to help take over the world."

Everyone focused on what Dipper said. They ignored Gideons comment.

"That's not possible," Grenda said.
"All he needed was me," Dipper said, "Realistically , I would have join him. If I kept seeing the monsters getting hurt I would have agreed."
"Don't say that," Stan said, "You don't know how he was like. He would have tricked you, lied, or even not telling you the whole truth."
"You all aren't any different," Mabel said, "I've asked and none of you gave me the truth. It was lies, completely ignoring the question or just not telling me the whole truth."
"We're protecting you," Stan said.
"Yeah, right," Dipper said, "Ford almost hit us killed not even a few weeks ago. I'm apart of something bigger in this town that can change everything."
"We still don't know everything, but you have no right telling us that this is for our protection," Mabel said, "I know your trying, but it's too late. Dipper and I are already a part of something that we didn't ask for. We're both forced to be apart of this weird thing."
"Enough!" Ford said, "I forbid you two from doing whatever you are doing. Stay away from those woods and never bring back this conversation."

The ghost disappeared and Dipper looked down at his feet.

"That's so unfair! This would have never happened if you were honest with us," Mabel shouted, "You can't forbid us for solving something important. If we can't do our stuff than you can't do your experiments anymore!"

Ford and Mabel kept arguing. Stan stepped in and told Mabel that it was better if they stopped this for a bit. He was abetting concerned about their well being and if they got hurt he would be worried.

"I'm not stopping," Dipper said, "We're so close to figuring this out. The weirdmageddon was always suppose to happen no matter how many times I think about it. There's something missing because something is telling me that we need it to happen but not in that way."
"What are you saying," Pacifica asked, "That we were all meant to go through that traumatic experience?"
"No! It-It's supposed to happen but not in that way. The monster talk about how this legend will change everything for the better," Dipper started to explain, "How the king of demons and the monster whisperer are suppose to do something together."
"What?" Stan said.
"We haven't gotten that far since we don't have enough clues," Mabel said, "There was also another war going on at the same time but it doesn't make any sense since it messes up the timeline."
"Bill said he would return," Candy said, "What if he does."
"He can't because he's dead," Dipper said, "That's what the book says."
"He's right about that part," Ford said, "We did kill him."

Mabel and Dipper had to heavily convince everyone that it was impossible for Bill to return.

"You guys kill him and there's no way to bring him back," Mabel said, "He wasn't powerful enough to protect him."
"Meaning that the legend won't come true," Dipper said.
"Then you two will stop trying to figuring it out since he's not possible," Stan said, "I know you'll hate me for this, but please stop it. I don't want you two to end up like Ford. No offense."
"None taken," Ford was a little upset.
"I want to be able to go to the ends and talk to my monster friends," Dipper said.
"I still want to go mushroom riding," Mabel muttered.
"Fine, but no more of this legend," Stan said.
"Okay," They both agreed.
"Let's go home," Stan said.

Ford, Stan, Dipper, Mabel, and Waddles left town and went back home. Dipper texted Mabel that they needed to find out more about the legend soon.

Mabel agreed and said that they needed to ask Bill
if he knew anyone that could help them. They needed to find out quickly since summer was running out.

July was going to be here soon and they weren't ready for it.

"Something in the clue is wrong."
