It started with a Pig

Third Person

Mabel cheered Dipper up yesterday and he was grateful for it. Mabel had the book in her because of Ford.

Ford has started to sneak into his room to find his journal, but Ford also thinks that Dipper is hiding more stuff. Which was true, but now everything is hidden with the magical stuff that the monsters have given me. Also, in Mabel's room since Ford doesn't believe Mabel is heavily involved in the magical things.

Mabel and Dipper are trying to find more hiding spots in case Ford starts looking through her room. Dipper walked into her room to tell her that he was going into the woods. She told him to be careful and he noticed that she was reading the book that was given to him.

He was a little glad that Mabel was also researching things, but he knew she was looking for answers about the tree and her necklace.

He closed the door and went into the woods. This time he didn't ask Stan to go outside because he's always outside in the woods. He's always safe and has never gotten injured. It wouldn't hurt that he didn't ask for just today. What could go wrong?

He didn't bring his journal with him for once since he actually wanted to enjoy nature for once. As he walked around the woods he tripped over a wire. He fell down a small hill and landed on the ground. He looked up and saw a small pig trapped inside a net. He heard the small thing cry in pain.

"Don't worry," Dipper quickly raced up, "I-I'll get you out."

Dipper touched the net and his hands start to burn. There was something not normal from this net which was burning the small pig.

Dipper fought through the burning pain and tried his best to break open the net. He looked under the net and saw a knot that he could untie. Once it was untied Dipper caught the pig and held it in his arms. His hands were in pain and it was even bleeding a bit.

The pig was burned, but it wasn't as bad since some leaves were protecting its body. Dipper quickly went back up the hill and raced back to the shack. He tried to open the door with his hand but that only caused more pain.

He opened the door as quickly as possible and quickly raced to Mabel's room and used his head to knock on the door. Mabel opened the door and noticed that he was out of breath.

"Dippy, what happened?" Mabel asked.
"Baby pig... hurt...help...pain," Dipper tried his best.

Mabel grabbed the pig and laid it down on the bed. Mabel remember there was something in the book to heal burns.

"Dipper, didn't you get these mushrooms in that basket?" Mabel asked, "And this leaf."
"I gave most of them to Ford, but when he left the basket in the kitchen I took some of them," Dipper explained.
"Watch the pig and I'll get the stuff," Mabel quickly raced out of the room.

Dipper looked at his hands and for a second forgot about the pain he was in. He looked at the baby pig and realized that he was all alone. Where was its mother? Dipper thought as he looked at the creature.

The pig was whimpering in pain and Dipper told the creature it was going to be okay. He started to wonder if that was a monster or just a regular pig.

Mabel soon returned with bandages, water, soap, and the plants. Mabel quickly realized Dipper's burned hands and looked at him in concern.

"What happened?" Mabel placed everything down on the bed.
"The poor thing was trapped and when I touched the net it started to burn me. I-I couldn't just leave the pig there since the net was also burning him," Dipper explained, "We need to focus on the baby first since I don't know how long he was in there for."

Mabel read through the page and her eyes widen.

"If you are using this on something normal or even half-normal then it will be in tremendous pain. The pain does not last long, but if it is a monster then it will feel no pain from the treatment," Mabel read, "Can we even take this risk?"
"Shit," Dipper muttered.

The pig's eyes started to glow and spat out a small bit of fire in front of the twins. It wasn't a normal animal so it was safe. Mabel quickly cleaned the wounds and then placed a mixture of mushroom leaf paste on him. Mabel bandaged the pig up and placed her blanket on him.

"There has to be something for you in this book," Mabel started to go through the pages.
"Mabel, just do it," Dipper told her, "It won't be for long and it hurts so bad."
"Are you sure?" Mabel asked.

Mabel tried to convince him that they could find another way, but he was he didn't care. Mabel did the same thing to clean his hands and asked again if he was sure.

"Just do it, Mabel," Dipper said, "Don't tell me when it's coming."
"Okay," Mabel said, "I'll try to do it at the same time."

Mabel just grabbed the bowl and placed his hands inside it. For a second Dipper didn't feel anything until another second passed by. Dipper screamed in pain and Mabel felt extremely bad since she couldn't find another way.

Mabel started to bandage his hands and apologized in advance in case she hurt him more. Stan heard the scream of pain and quickly went to see where it was coming from. Mabel looked at Dipper and noticed that his eyes glowed and his birthmark was also glowing.

"Bro, bro," Mabel muttered, "Your eyes are glowing again."
"R-Really?" Dipper said, "My hands are hurting less now but it still burns."

"Maybe something cold can help," Mabel said.
"What's going on?" Stan quickly came inside the room, "Is everything okay?"

Stan saw Mabel wrapping Dipper's hands and there was a small pig right next to them.

"Grunkle Stan, I can explain," Mabel said.
"Why is there a small pig here and what happened to his hands?"
Stan asked.
"Too tight," Dipper's eyes slowly stopped glowing.
"Dipper took a walk in the woods and it was just a walk. Then... I don't know what happened but I'm sure that he didn't mean to get hurt." Mabel said.
"I tripped down a hill and I saw the baby pig in the net and I tried to set it free, but then the net started to burn me. The net was hurting the pig as well and I just couldn't leave him," Dipper explained.
"How did the net burn you?" Stan asked.
"I don't know," Dipper said.
"Do we need to take you to the hospital?" Stan asked him.
"No, it stopped hurting," Dipper said.
"Is there anything that I could do," Stan asked them.
"No, we're fine now," Mabel said.
"If there is anything you need I'll be downstairs in the kitchen cooking lunch," Stan told them.

Stan left the room and Dipper looked at Mabel. They both looked at the pig and then at each other. What were they going to do with the baby pig?

"The pig was all alone," Dipper told Mabel.
"I'll keep the baby in my room since you won't be able to take care of him," Mabel said, "Since your hands."

Dipper stayed in Mabel's room for a while. He felt a little bad for making Mabel take care of him and the pig. She didn't really mind since she quickly grew a liking for the pig.

The Pines family went into town together for family bonding but also they needed to buy food. Dipper still had his bandages and Waddles walked next to Mabel.

Stan was still getting used to the pig because there have been serval times where he almost stepped on him. Ford was against Waddles staying since he was fully a monster. He told his concerns to Stan, but he didn't win.

"I need to buy Waddles a collar so he won't get lost," Mabel smiled.
"Sweetie, I don't think you need one," Stan said, "No one else in town owns a pig."
"But what if they think he's food," Mabel muttered.
"I guess so," Stan said.
"He's a non-verbal monster so I don't know what he's saying but pig noises," Dipper said.
"You kept trying to make Waddles talk for an hour straight," Mabel pointed out.
"It would have been two," Dipper pouted, "You took Waddles away."
"Because it was concerning," Mabel said.
"Everyone meet back at the diner," Stan smiled.

Dipper followed Mabel to the pet shop. When Mabel was looking at collars Dipper walked around. He felt someone grab him and he was teleported away to the woods.

"Bill?" Dipper muttered.
"I didn't mean to- what happened to your hands?" Bill started to hold them.
"A net, but I'm alright," Dipper hugged him, "I promise."
"Sapling... are you sure?" Bill asked.
"Yes," Dipper smiled at him, "What do you want to talk about?"
"I've been seeing monsters going into town," Bill told Dipper.
"What? They know it's dangerous and they even told me that no one goes there," Dipper explained, "Why now?"
"I think it's because you go into town and they think it's safe because of you," Bill assumed.
"Thank you for telling me Bill," Dipper said.

Dipper wanted to ask Bill if he knew the legend that the monsters were talking about.

"I'll take you back," Bill said.
"Bill? I have a question," Dipper asked.
"What is it Pinetree?" Bill questioned.
"Do you know the legend that involves the both of us?" Dipper asked.

Bill's eyes widen and he could only think of one thing. He thought about what the creature had told him. He hasn't thought about that since he tried to find out who the monster whisperer was.

Since he's mean and spends more time with Dipper he hadn't thought about that. He's only thought about Dipper in different ways that had nothing to do with his original plan. Ruling the World.

"There was one thing that I know of is a creature told me. The creature could see the past, the present, and the future. It told me that there is a future where you and I ruled the world. He told me that I needed to get you on my side for that future to happen," Bill told him the truth.
Dipper's heart dropped when he said, "Are you using me?"

Dipper stepped away and looked at Bill.

"I'm sorry. That's not the future I want anymore and I don't know if that's the legend that they're talking about. I don't think so but it could. Ever since I got to know you and when I meant you everything changed. I like having friends that don't fear me... I like feeling this happiness that isn't a result of me killing anyone or hurting anyone. I want this happiness to last forever and if that means betraying you and Shooting Star then I won't. I can't give this up and I won't. I'm sorry that I didn't tell you but having you leave me hurts. These stupid meatsack emotions are new to me and even before I could only feel anger and that wrong happiness," Bill was serious and even started to cry, "I-I don't want that future anymore and I don't know what I want anymore. Shooting star is great and she's so interesting. We went mushroom riding and we rode mushrooms without you because I wanted to get to know her more. You told me that if I wanted friends then I would have to talk and that's what I did. When it comes to you I feel so happy since I get to see you smile and laugh and question the world. I'm sorry that my intentions at first were awful but when you first talked to me I didn't think of ruling the world."

Bill's eyes widen when Dipper hugged him.

"I forgive you," Dipper said.
"Y-You do?" Bill was a little surprised.
"Just promise me that if you ever think about ruling the world," Bill was expecting Dipper to say don't, "Talk to me about... we can work something out."
"I'm sorry," Bill mumbled.
"I'm not letting you go yet... You're with me till I die," Dipper said, "You're the coolest person I've ever meant, and even if it did hurt. You told me everything and then kept being honest even when it was ugly. I should hate you but I don't and I won't."

Bill hugged Dipper back.

"I have to go now," Dipper muttered.
"I know," Bill said, "The future can change but I don't know if legends can."
"I think the future and legends are two different things, but we can figure out that tomorrow," Dipper told him.
"Okay..." Bill said.
"Drop me back off, please," Dipper told him.

Bill dropped Dipper back off in the pet store and quickly left. Dipper went back to Mabel and realized she had a bunch of useless things in the basket.

Dipper rolled his eyes and smirked. He told Mabel that she couldn't buy all of this stuff. All of a sudden they heard a scream coming from outside.
