A unknown War

Third Person

A few days passed and Mabel was still happy about seeing those unicorns. Pacifica had fixed Mabel's uneven hair and it's a bit shorter.

Dipper was in the woods trying to find certain plants for Ford. He had a basket that Ford gave him.

"Pinetree," Bill said.
"Bill!" Dipper smiled.

Bill wore black jeans and boots, a yellow muscle shirt with bracelets. Dipper saw the same symbol that he had on his forearm on Bill's.

"Our eyes have stopped glowing for once," Dipper chuckled.
Bill walked up to Dipper with a soft smile, "I've figured out how to stop that."
"That's great," Dipper started to frown a bit.
"What's the matter?" Bill asked.
"I don't know," Dipper muttered, "It was just a signal knowing that you were close by."

Bill smirked and placed his hands on the back of his head.

"They shouldn't know when I'm coming," Bill said.
"I guess so," Dipper said.

Bill started to levitate off the ground and crossed his legs.

"What are you doing?" Bill asked him.
"I'm picking certain plants for Ford," Dipper answered.
"What are you looking for?" Bill asked.
"He gave me a list," Dipper showed him.
"Mind if I join you?" Bill asked, "Some of these plants look similar to poisonous ones."
"I would love that! We can talk about so many things," Dipper was excited.

Dipper pulled Bill back to the ground. Dipper grabbed his arm and pulled him to where he was heading.

Dipper placed his head on Bill's shoulder and talked. He talked about the world, he talk about the magic, he talked about the wonder this place brought, he talk about the monsters, he talked about him.

"Your mark," They stopped.

Dipper placed his thumb on Bill's mark and smiled at it.

"This is filled with beauty, and mystery, and curiosity," Dipper looked at Bill, "It's filled with so much wonder. What does it mean."
"This symbol can summon me," Bill told him, "At any time and I am the only one who possesses this mark."

Dipper smiled and started to think about his mark. Bill looked at the list and teleported them to where the flower was.

"Woah! Where are we?" Dipper smiled, "That was amazing!"
"Teleportation?" Bill chuckled at his reaction.
"Yes! I saw so many colors!" Dipper smiled.
"Let's focus on the plants," Bill told him, "The flower is on top of the tree."
"What?" Dipper's face dropped.
"I'll get it," Bill smiled.

Dipper saw Bill leave. He came back quickly and placed the flower inside the basket.

"Next?" Bill smirked.
"Next," Dipper smiled.

Bill realized how much Ford sent him out to do. Bill told him that he would be teleporting them to where they needed to take them.

They found leaves, flowers, and mushrooms. They went to a small pond and grabbed pond grass. The mountain with rare flowers and glowed.

"One more!" Dipper cheered.
"I know Sixer hasn't been here before," Bill said.
"Sixer?" Dipper questioned.
"F-Ford," Bill stuttered.
"Why hasn't Sixer been here before?" Dipper asked, "He wrote here that these are extremely rare and under logs."
"False, if you want to find them the stupid way," Bill told him, "There is an underground cave and is filled with magic."
"Can we go!" Dipper asked him.
"Anything you desire," Bill pinched his cheek.
"Haha," Dipper smiled.

They teleport in front of the cave. It was covered in vines with flowers all over.

"So, where do we go?" Dipper asked.
"We have to walk through the vines and walk down, but I can't teleport us in since the cave can drop rocks," Bill explained, "We have to be careful."
"Alright, let's go," Dipper said.

They both started to walk inside the cave. Bill made a small fire with his hand so they would be able to see. Dipper stayed close to make sure he wouldn't get lost. Bill stopped Dipper before he walked into a deep hole.

"That would have been a bad fall," Dipper mumbled.
"Death," Bill told him.
"What are we doing now?" Dipper asked.
"I can fly us down," Bill said.

Dipper jumped on Bill's back and started to fly down. Dipper was having too much fun with flying even when Bill was doing all the work.

The lower they went the more the cave started to glow a soft red. When they arrived at the bottom of the cave Dipper didn't get off Bill.

"You can get off me now," Bill said.
"I wanna stay on your back," Dipper muttered, "I feel tall."
"Fine," Bill smirked, "But if I trip and fall you'll get hurt."
"I'm willing to take that risk," Dipper said.

Bill carried Dipper deeper into the cave. It looked beautiful. There were small dots on the cave wall making it look like stars.

"Here are the mushrooms," Bill pointed at them.
"Yeah!"

Dipper got off and started to pick them. After getting a few more than what Ford wanted he started to walk around.

Bill followed him making sure that he wouldn't fall into another hole. Suddenly the whole cave went dark. Bill by instinct held Dipper. He dropped the basket.

"Why did it turn dark?" Dipper asked.
"I have no idea," Bill mumbled while using his fire to make a light source, "It's always so beautiful here. The way it glows and shines."
"I dropped every," Dipper mumbled.

They both bent down and went to pick them up. They were in pitch black as they were picking up the plants. Dipper felt Bill's hand on top of his. They both looked up and that's when the glowing started up again.

They both looked at each other.

"Thank you," Dipper smiled, "For helping me with this. I would have been searching for hours without you."
Bill held Dipper's hand, "It's my pleasure. I wouldn't want you to get hurt."
"Let's get out of this cave before the glowing spots again," Dipper said.

They both got up and left the cave. As they left the cave they overheard a conversation with pixies flying around.

"The beast is mad!" One of them said.
"The beast will come for their head," The other shouted.
"We are all doomed! They took her child," The last one said.
"What happened," Dipper asked.
"The legends are true!" The first pixie said.
"The demon king and the whisperer of monsters," The second one said, "The legend will come true."
"I don't know what they're talking about," Bill whispered and he didn't know.
"What's going on?" Dipper asked.
"Someone went to the cave far from here and stole the egg of a creature that is half demon and half monster. She is angry-"

Dipper's phone rang and he apologized to them before answering.

"Dipper!" Mabel shouted through the phone.
"What's wrong?" Dipper asked Mabel.
"I was overhearing Gideon and Ford. Someone took a picture of the symbol that you can only do and they're trying to do it. They sent you on that errand as a distraction! You have to hurry home quick!" Mabel shouted, "Gideon brought this weird egg too? I don't know and I'm a little worried about what might happen."
"They have the egg... they have the egg!" Dipper shouted at Bill.
"Sapling this is bad," Bill told him.
"They are in great danger,"
"Who's that?" Mabel questioned.
"I'll explain later, okay! You'll meet him soon, I promise." Dipper told Mabel, "Bring the egg downstairs if you're in the room. Wait for me near the door and when you see me go outside."

Dipper hung up and looked at Bill.

"You have to take me close to the shack," Dipper begged Bill, "I'm not fast enough."
"Just be careful okay," Bill said.

They both teleported close enough to the mystery shack without Bill reviling himself.

"See you later!" Dipper started to run away.
"Bye!" Bill shouted.

Dipper rushed to the shack and he saw the opening. He saw Gideon in front of the circle and started to say the words.

His nose started to bleed. Dipper dropped the basket and tackled him to the ground.

"Dipper!" Ford shouted at him.
"Are you guys idiots!" Dipper shouted as he covered Gideon's mouth.

Gideon's eyes were glowing and Dipper didn't move his hands until they stopped. When they stopped Dipper got off Gideon and kicked the symbol that was made out of the dirt.

"You guys are going to get yourselves killed," Dipper said.
"Dipper, what should I do with the egg?" Mabel said.
Gideon got up and looked at Mabel, "Darling, just give me the egg."
"No!" Mabel hugged it, "You stole it!"
"Give is back the egg," Ford said.
"Never!" Mabel started to run when Gideon started to chase her.

They all chased her. Dipper tried helping but he wasn't going to catch up to Gideon. They ran around the shack. Gideon caught up to Mabel and grabbed the egg.

"Let go of the egg," Gideon said.
"You let go or else," Mabel said.
"Or else what," Gideon questioned.
"I will kick you in the dick," Mabel told him.
"You wouldn't," Gideon groaned.

Mabel did without warning. Gideon fell on the ground and Mabel raced away. Mabel knew who was able to stop this mess.

"GRUNKLE STAN! GIDEON IS TRYING TO HURT ME!" Mabel yelled, "HE WON'T STOP CHASING ME! GRUNKLE FORD IS PUTTING US IN DANGER!"

Stan quickly bolted out of the shack still wearing the apron that Mabel made him. They stopped chasing each other and Mabel went next to Stan. Dipper joined Mabel.

"Gideon stole an egg from something and now we're in danger," Mabel explained to him.
"Ford is also putting people in danger," Dipper mumbled, "Gideon almost hurt himself."
"Christ, why is that egg so big?" Stan looked at the egg.
"It's from a creature that is half-monster half-demon," Dipper told him, "She's pissed and if we don't return we could all die."
"Ford, we discussed that you could no longer do these types of things! We can't keep putting ourselves and other people in danger," Stan scoffed.
"He sent Dipper on an errand so he could do something dangerous," Mabel also told Stan, "Without Dipper, he could do it with him stopping it."

Stan crossed his arms and glared at Ford. He wasn't surprised at this information.

"This is why I didn't move out. I have to watch you so you won't do anything dangerous! Why can't you let this stuff go?" Stan groaned.
"Ford! I don't mind your research but putting our niece and nephew in danger including and I can't believe I'm saying this... and Gideon in danger is where I'm putting my foot down," Stan told Ford, "Why is this egg so important?"
Gideon finally stood up, "It's for a projection against demons."
"It needs a demon egg," Ford said, "When everything happened demons were left behind."
"That won't work... it's half-monster," Dipper told him, "They mated."

The ground started to shake and they all fell. Mabel made sure that the egg was okay. Dipper asked for the egg and walked towards the edge of the forest.

They all suddenly saw the egg being pulled away by a claw.

"I'm sorry! I made sure that they didn't harm your egg with my sister. I know humans can be idiotic even the smart ones. Please, don't hurt us!" Dipper shouted.
"There is no way the creature can-" Ford stopped talking when the creature responded.
"Thank you..."
"The hell," Gideon said.
"What is your wish?" She asked.
"I don't have any wishes," Dipper mumbled, "I just wanted you to have your egg back."
"I know what you desire and the answer is important. Two different wars were happening." She said before leaving.

They were all surprised (except Mabel) when Dipper started to talk to the monster like it was normal. They all got up and Mabel went over to Dipper. Bill was sitting in the trees invisible watching everything.

"What did she say?" Mabel asked.
"Two different wars were happening," Dipper told Mabel.
"What the hell does that mean?" Mabel muttered.
"I don't know," Dipper said.
"Is no one going to question how he can communicate with that creature?" Gideon pointed out.
"I already knew," Mabel stuck her tongue out at him.
"Ford, if something like this happens again I will change the lock to the lab for a month," Stan told him.
"You don't have the authorization to do that," Ford crossed his arms.
"I do," Stan said.
"Gideon, are you alright? I didn't want to tackle you, but your stupidity left me no choice," Dipper said.
"What happened?" Stan asked.

Gideon showed Stan the photo of the symbol.

"Pacifica, Candy, and I were looking for something plants for Ford. We run into Dipper and Mabel near the unicorn area. Dipper started to chant in Latin and the symbol looked like the Cipher wheel. Ford and I thought what we could do it." Gideon explained, "We thought it was another way to summon..."
"No, no, no, no, no, no. Why would you do that? That's the most idiotic thing I've ever heard and Ford is supposed to be the smart one," Stan sighed.

Dipper grabbed the basket and looked through the plants. Mabel poked some of them since she thought they were going to fight back.

"Dipper, can you explain?" Stan looked at him, "I may seem annoyed but it's not with you."
"Mabel wanted to see the unicorns. When we found the home a fairy told me how to make it appear. It whispered and told me what to do." Dipper explained, "Only I can do it."
"When did they start talking to you?" Stan asked.
"He always had it in him, but since we lived in California with no magic," Mabel said.
"That makes sense," Stan said, "Mabel do you?"
"Nope," They both said.
"Thank you for being honest," Stan smiled at him.
"How did you get those things so fast? It always takes me days," Ford asked.
"You have a lot of the mushrooms that Ford could never find enough of," Gideon said.
"I found an easier way," Dipper quickly answered.

Dipper started to back away and tried to think of how he found a faster way.

"I don't believe this," Ford said, "Isn't it odd that the moment they came, monsters started to attack more? How he started to get more information by 'talking' to the monsters."
"It is..." Gideon said, "There's like this tension between the monsters and humans."

Dipper's grip on the basket became tighter and he started to become angry.

"You two are the reason why there is tension because you two do stupid stuff! You guys never noticed because you are so focused on yourselves that you don't pay attention to what you're doing! You guys are stealing and hurting monsters and demons that live in the forest," Dipper shouted.

Mabel saw that his eyes were no longer brown. They were a soft blue color that was turning bluer. Bill noticed and was confused about this sudden power. He's human. What's going on?

"Why do you always assume the worse? For the last few weeks, I thought you hated me. You barely talk to me, you barely acknowledge me, and when I thought that it was all over... I felt honored to help you find the plants because I thought you were starting to like me. Take your stupid basket!" Dipper threw it at Ford's feet, "I thought I was doing something nice for you."

Bill felt intense power. Bill knew how angry power can cause great damage.

"Instead you guys are trying to get yourselves
killed-" Since his body wasn't used to the power he fainted.
"Dipper!" Mabel rushed to Dipper.
"What happened?" Gideon said.
"Grunkle Stan," Mabel looked at him.
"Don't worry," Stan told Mabel as he picked up Dipper, "We can figure this out."
"Go home, Gideon," Stan told him.

Stan, Mabel, and Ford went inside. Stan was still extremely upset with Ford. Not only was he going to be involved in a murder, but he also endangered his own family.

Stan brought Dipper into his room and checked to make sure there was nothing wrong with him physically.

"What am I going to do?" Stan sighed.
"Don't worry Grunkle Stan," Mabel smiled, "We can figure out something."
"Promise that you two will be safe? I know you two are up to something and I want to trust you. I do trust you. You two are my family also and I don't want you two to do anything stupid," Stan said, "I can answer questions that you guys have. But make sure you don't endanger anyone."
"We won't," Mabel told him and hugged him.
"Don't end up Ford," Stan told her, "Some things are left unknown for reason."
"Okay," Mabel muttered.

Stan placed the blanket over Dipper and they both left his room.
