Yuki Mazuki
Yuki often hides in her black and white (but mostly black) cloak.
She goes barefoot and mostly wears plain black clothes of various designs.
She was based from Fairy Tail, as is @Uma_of_Light s OC Uma.
She uses many different styles of magic, but they generally center around Shadows.
She's blind, but uses telepathy and a mixture of various other magic techniques to compensate.
She has a weird back round, and I mean it. Uma and I made the story basically as convoluted and weird as possible.
Here it is, sorry if it's complicated;
Yuki and Uma are sisters, who live on a small farm with their parents. Yuki is 2 years older than Uma, and is overly protective of her, since their parents only give a half a fuck about either of them. Each parent only likes one of the sisters, and the parents urge them to hate each other, but the harder the parents push for it, the more they love each other. This is because we (Uma and I) thought that we just liked each other as friends. We hadn't explored sexualities and all that good stuff. Also, you got a problem with that, fite me. Simple as that, you disagree with love, I will punch into the ground. Okay, sorry, lil rant there.
But yeah, their parents were real dick-wads. Eventually, their dad gets drunk one night, and Uma ends up having a nightmare. (no disrespect to Uma, these characters are like 3 and 5, I was probably still freaking out over spiders when I was 8, no judge, no hate on Uma) They share a bed, so Yuki tries to help. But against counsel, Uma rushes to their father, who was passed out drunk on their parents bed. She's quieted down by now, and calls his name. He actually liked Uma, so normally she would be safe. But not this night. All the alcohol had gone to his head and he was irrationally pissed at everyone in his sight. Basically, chaos ensues, the father tries to slap toddler Uma upside the face, but Yuki intervenes, taking the hit and becoming blind in the process. This would impact their life together in the future, as that's one of the reasons Yuki learns magic in the first place. But before that happens, they are sold.
Physically sold, like bags of potatoes and carted to a construction project on a chain of islands in the middle of the ocean. According to their parents request, the sisters are split between two separate projects. They remain there for approximately a year and a half, working like slaves among dozens of other laborers. But one day, the head managers who organize the projects are thrown out and everyone is released, as far as Yuki and Uma know. This is basically the backstory of the R-Tower arc from Fairy Tail by Hiro Mashima. Yuki and Uma barely manage to find each other in the flood of humanity from the desolate islands where they were worked. But when they do, things are different. Uma doesn't say anything, and they walk in silence. It finally gets across that Uma is mute.
They travel for miles, no destination in mind besides away from the Hell-Pit they just came from. They hold hands so that they don't lose each other, since a tree can feel pretty similar to a person when every nerve ending feels like it's been lit on fire from bruising. They come across a clearing, stopping for a bit to explore how they can since this place feel safe. It feels...happy.
(I'm only telling Yuki's side in any detail from here out so that Uma can make her own chapter about this.)
Yuki wanders to the side, where she hears a rustling in her permanent darkness, the sound of scales scraping together, a dry, raspy hiss. She feels the walls, and judging by the temp drop, she's found a crevasse of some type. The walls are stone and rough, angling together like a cave. Here is where she meets her mentor for the next few years, Skiadram, the Shadow Dragon. He lives across from Weisslogia, the Light Dragon, who lives in the clearing where Yuki left Uma. Yuki and Skiadram talk, holding a conversation even though Yuki still doesn't know where he is exactly, and Skiadram hasn't actually come outside of the Shadow Realm. Skiadram guides her up to the surface, where Uma and Weisslogia have also made a pact, for the dragons to teach them magic and for the sisters to learn and assist them in various projects they needed to do. And from there Yuki and Uma are Dragon Slayer apprentices, on the road to being equal in power to dragons.
I'm going to leave it there since it is pretty late for having to do Marching Band practice for 9 hours tomorrow. Would anybody want an actual decent recount of this, you know, with an actually good voice? I could get it up easier than other stories, but time is a legit problem for me at this point. In any case, I HOPE YOU ENJOY YOUR DAY/NIGHT/ETC, and a healthy life.
~~Yuki, a Shadow who is really over marching band and really misses Cohai
