one question triggered in my mind.
What was she?
And like she read my mind, she replied," I'm a witch from the great blackheart clan. "
" And your new friend! "she smiled at me.
And I knew liked her already.

It was a long day. I was tired and was about to go to sleep.

I had my white silk night dress put on when I hopped into the feathery bed. I wrapped the black velvety blanket around me, inhaling the freshening scent of it.

It was chilly in Aspen, just like the any other usual day. And the warmth the blanket was providing was beyond words.
Soon, I was falling into a slumber.

And that was when the bed shook and someone laid beside me. Before I could look back, my eyes widen as a hand, cold like ice grabbed me by my waist and pulled me backwards so my back was pressed against a muscular chest.
Through my dress I felt it was naked. He hadn't put on a shirt.

I felt a cold long breathing on my neck which sent numerous shocks down my spine and gave a weird feeling in my stomach.

Ace

I knew. It was him.

I could even recognize his touch in sleep.

Don't act like you're in love, you stupid girl.  A voice spoke in my head.

I turned around so I could face him. My palm flatten on his naked chest,pushing him.

"Where were you? I looked for you everywhere! You weren't even in your room." I asked, trying to sound casual but sounded much worried.

He glared at my face at once then cracked a smile,flashing his dimples.
"Thank God I wasn't in my room. If I was I could never know that my absence could get you worried. " he said. Clear mischief in his smile.

I wanted to answer something that could proof I wasn't worried.. At all.  But as being stupid and not being able to find words during the right time, was my best friends, I was silent.

I watched him, lifting himself off the bed. His moves were relaxed and comfortable. He sat on the bed. I saw the moon light coming out from the opened window, falling on his perfect body.

The moonlight created a blue illumination around his body, making him look magical.

I couldn't help drooling. If I wasn't on a mission to escape this miserable house And he wasn't a vampire I wouldn't mind asking him out for a date.

"where were you? I asked you and you haven't answered me yet. " I said and my breath was suddenly take away,
As he crawled at me, slowly, hungrily, not like hungry for blood but something else.

He crawled a bit closer and I backed off,
And I backed off until my back hit the bed post.
His face was soon in front mine, and his cold minty breath on my mouth...
He had his own scent which could never be compared to any other cologne. Not even the best in the world.
It was like wild, manly, and also like a garden filled with roses and jasmine,  little mixed with a sweaty scent that belonged exclusively to him.

Like the fact or not but my nose absolutely could detect his scent.

Even in among a lot of others ...

He moved his face closer almost an inch and my breath was hitching, butterflies were all over my stomach. I forced my eyes to close.
"Damn, chicken you are so red. You look so cute when you blush. " I quickly opened my eyes as I heard him chuckle.
His face right in front of me. His eyes looked beautiful but exhausted...my eyes fell on his lips and I swallowed hard. They were wet and juicy. Perhaps he just licked them...

Oh God don't do it to me... I have a limit to resist...

"I'll tell you where I was... But before that, I'll take you to my favorite place. " he whispered in my ears.

" okay. "I nodded. My hands were shaking suddenly as his voice flowed in my veins.

He always did strange things to me.

" But give me a moment Okay? It's cold and I have to put on a sweater. "I told him.

" You don't have to change. "he smiled.
" The cold can never touch you as long I'm alive...
and with you...
Not just cold.. If someone ever tries to harm you, I'll kill them without thinking twice."
He said slowly,and softly. Each word were spelled out of his beautiful lips, clearly.

He meant them.

I knew. I didn't know how but I only knew that I knew.

I recalled again and again. Rather his words were playing like a gramophone in my head.

"Let me have your hand in my lady.. " he said, his hand stretched at me almost beaconing me to put mine on him.

" My lady? "I couldn't help chuckle.
" Yeah.. I was always taught to treat women with care.. And especially my woman always deserves the best.. "

Ace indeed was the most romantic person ever I met. Ever better than those guys on movies....

I placed my hand on his and he lead me to the opened window.
We stood there and I watched the bed of flowers beneath.

" Let me hold you as we will jump off here. " he said.

" hey wait? "I turned my face at him. He clearly had lost his mind.

" you want me to jump off the window? Are you bonkers? You want me to die?"

I watched as his face fell. "How could you think that I'd ask you to do something that could risk your life?" he said, sounding  hurt.

"But it's almost 10meters above the ground and I would clearly die if I fall from here. Sorry but I'm not suicidal. "I stated.

And suddenly he jumped on the window pane. My eyes opened wide in alarm. He would surely fall in any moments.
" What the hell you're doing Ace? Are you suicidal? "I yelled.
" Come down! "I stretched both of my hands at him.

I might want to get rid of him. But killing him wasn't in my plans.

And besides I clearly didn't want him to die.

" Don't worry, I'll not die. Remember I'm a vampire? " he laughed.
" Just trust me. Give me your hand. "

" Just trust me.. " he repeated.

I looked up at him. Into his eyes... I found there was something I could trust.. It wouldn't be a harm if I trust him.

I hold his hand and with a sudden pull I crashed onto his chest. His hand steadily wrapped around my waist.
And before I could say anything he already had pushed himself off the window pane.

"Ace! " I screamed in horror as I wrapped my arms around his neck.

With a loud sound his body hit the ground on the bed of flowers.
I was on top. He was beneath me so I wasn't hurt.

I quickly sat up,.. Almost on him. Straddling him.
My heart stopped beating as I shifted my attention on his face.

His eyes were shut closed. An abnormal paleness on his face.

"Ace! " I cried out. I placed my ear on his chest trying to listen his heart beat.
And my heart stopped pounding against my chest as I couldn't hear his heart beating anymore.

" Wake up! Ace! For God's sake wake up! "I cried. I felt as if the time had stopped. My palms were cold, just like his body.

I knew what happened if someone fell off  fourth floor. Only I wasn't ready to accept the fact that he wasn't anymore.

" Ace! " my voice cracked.

And the silent moon lit night was echoed with Ace's chuckle.
He sat up on the ground, causing me to slid on his lap.

"Fuck! you scared me idiot!" I threw a punch on his chest with my shaky fist.

"What? Thought I was dead? "he laughed.
" Don't you remember I'm a vampire? Falling from a mere fourth floor won't hurt me a bit. "

" You scared me like hell. "I said. I was clearly pissed off or the thought of him dying scared me.

" Ow Chicken.. You love me so much that you were afraid to lose me... "he said pulling me into a hug.
" You know what? No one ever was afraid to lose me.... But You were. You love me so much. " he sighed.

" And I love you too. I would protect you always. "he said, sounding determined.

I didn't how to response. I didn't know if I was afraid to lose him. Only one thing I knew that I could not bear him dying in front of my eyes.

Never.

And he kept his word. He didn't let anything bad happen to me even after jumping off the fourth floor.

And the chilly cold night was not bothering me as I was in his chest... Safe..

First of all I want to apologize for the delay. I was really busy with my life, studies and the new book.
I promise I'll make up the delay.

And I had a surgery on my left eye recently. I had my eye patched up. But as soon the doctors removed it, I wrote this chapter. Shouldn't I deserve a clap??

And back to the chapter,
