4 Days later it was sophie's birthday so priya woke up very early to bake a special birthday cake for her,after she was done very carefully she went to sophie's room without making any noise after entered she saw sophie was in her deep sugary sleep 

and that made her smile she put the cake on her study table and went to sat next to her,she pushed her hair back of her ear so then placed a gentle kiss on her forehead then she leaned a little close and whispered to her ear 

Priya : Happy birthday soph...

And smile appeared on sophie's face she slowly opend her eyes and looked at her mother priya carresed her cheeks then she got up and hugged priya tightly 

Sophie : Thank you mumma i knew that you will never forget my birthday

after they broke the hug priya said 

How can i do that soph its our most special day isnt it ?

Sophie nodded her head quickly 

Priya : I have another surprise for you too 

then she turned arround to take the cake 

Sophie : This is for me ?

Priya : Ofcourse your favourite blueberry cake 

Sophie : Mom you are the best i love so much 

Priya : I love you too soph now lets cut the cake wait let me light the candle for you 

At morning when sophie was about to leave for school she went to priya ,

Sophie : Mom 

Priya turn arround 

Yeah what is it ?

Sophie : Where is my gift ?

Priya : Hmm gift ? 

Sophie : Yes dont tell me you forgot it 

Priya giggled 

No soph is that even possible wait a minute 

Then she opend the cupboard and took out a small box then she went near to soph 

Priya : Close your eyes 

Sophie : What is it ?

Priya : Just close you na abhi pata chal jayega tumhe 

Then sophie closed her eyes then priya put the necklace on her now took her infront of the mirror 

Priya : Now open your eyes 

Sophie open her eyes and looked herself in the mirror 

Priya : Isnt it beautiful soph,its looking more pretty on you 

Sophie turns to face priya and priya saw sophie became a little dissapointed 

Sophie : But i wanted an ipad this year mom 

Priya rolled her eyes and exhale a breath 

Priya : Soph you know about our situation right now i cant afford an i pad sorry 

Sophie : But all my friends they have their and they used to make fun of me that i am poor and i am not belongs to them

Priya : Who said this to you ? just tell me who is it 

Sophie : As if you are care you will never understand me mom 

then she jerked off priya's hand from her and about to leave 

Priya : Soph is it really necessary to behave this way every time you are now growing its you who should understand 

Sophie : If Dad was here today, he would have fulfilled my wish but you couldnt do it,you can spend money on watching movies but.....agh just leave it mom i dont need anything from you so you dont need to be pretend that you do love me

Then she took off the necklace and put that on the table

Priya sat on the bed tears rolled down to her cheeks

At afternoon when priya was preapring the special dinner for sophie her phone rang she went to take the call

Priya : Hello

Mrs Dias : Is it mrs frenandez ?

Priya : Yes who is it ?

Mrs Dias : I am misha's mother she is sophie's friend i just wanted to inform you that sophie will be stay here tonight they need to finish some project works so

Priya : What ? i mean sophie didnt inform me anything about this

Mrs Dias : Yeah she said she forgot but dont worry she will be fine here

Priya : Can i talk to sophie for a moment ?

Then mrs dias put sophie on the phone

Priya : what is it soph why didnt you tell me that you are not coming today

Sophie : I forgot to tell you mom sorry but i need this project to be done by tonight so there is no choice i will see you tomorrow

Then she hung up the call

Priya got so furious she went back to the kitchen switched off the gas and sophie hurted her so much she couldnt decide what to do and mistakenly she touch the pan which was pretty hot and her hand was burned

Priya : Ahhh shit

She hold her hand ached in pain

At evening karan came after he rang the bell priya went to open the door

Karan : I hope i am not late where is the birthday girl ?

Priya didnt speak a word and went inside karan knotted her eyebrows in curiosity so he followed her

priya went and sat on the couch she took her glass of wine

Karan : Where is sophie ?

Priya : She isnt here she will be staying at her friends place tonight

Karan : What ?

Then he sat next to her

Karan : Look at me priya is there something happend between two of you ?

Tears formed in her eyes but she hid herself karan placed his hand on her shoulder

Karan : What is it ?

Priya : Why is it so difficult for sophiee to understand me no matter how hard i try to get closer to her she will never accept me can you tell me whats my faltu and where am i doing wrong

She moved her face to karan and he saw her eyes were filled with tears

Why am i having this awful life everynight i think about this i cant sleep all night as soon as i close my eyes these things haunts me sometimes i feel i really dont know what i want after wakes up in the morning i remember i have to do all the works doing the dishes making the breakfast and i need to send my kid to her school but all i do it staying at the bed and cry

i realise here i am going to have another terrible day of my life

Karan : She is disturbed by her father sudden death you have to understand that and what you are going through is common its called midwife crisis

Priya knotted her eyebrows

Priya : What is that ?

Karan : Its a mental situation you needs to deal with just keep yourself occupied and dont remember about the past because its already gone

Priya smiled sarcastically

You will never understand me , because you are a men and all the men are same self centered thats all

And she about to get up but karan held her hand so priya moaned in pain
