Jacks P.O.V ~

I stood there, shaking with every fiber of my being as two of Dr Felix's men held a tight grip on both my shoulders. I swallowed the lump in my throat as I quietly observed how they practically dragged Cry out of the tank and dried him up. He wasn't able to stand from all the wounds and it being the first time he's formed human legs, Felix ordered the man I knew as Kenith to hold him up as he cried in fear. Felix then turned his gaze from Cry to me, I couldn't look away from the murderous look in his eyes.

''Well then, I suppose I don't need to explain what'll happen if you don't give any answers~'' He said with a devious smirk as he took slow steps towards me, I tried to back away but his men pushed me forward. Felix then raised his eyebrow, expectantly.

''N-No...'' I stuttred in agreement as this seemed to have pleased the monster before me. He sighed in satisfaction with a wide smirk forming on his lips.

''First question!'' Felix sang in a sickly jolly mood as he raised his hand, extending his index finger. ''Very simple actually~'' He said to him self as he rubbed the stuble on his chin, his grin never dissapearing from his face. ''Where is the location of your...fellow...merrows'' He slurred in disgust as he furrowed his eyebrows in thought.

''W-What no!'' I stuttered in shock as Felix snapped his head towards my direction, our eyes locking. It felt as if he was telling me arguing was a bad idea through the deadly glare in his dark blue eyes. ''What...do you plan on doing with...them...'' I said submissively as I lowered my tone. He gave a half hearted chuckle as he stared at me, half-eyed.

''Imagine how much gold your king would be worth~'' He whispered with his accent thicknening, bending down to my level. ''How much do you think the Shadow Hunters would pay? Hmm~'' He hummed as I gave a gasp in reply.

''I'll n-never tell you'' I said as I flared my nostrils, although I was on the verge of tearing up. Felix then shook his head, a sly smirk still visible as his eyes were closed.

''Tsk tsk tsk...Oh Jack'' He turned to Cry as my muscles stiffened. ''What to do with you~'' He hummed as he gently placed his palm under Cry's chin, lifting his head. I could hear Cry whimper in terror as my eyes widened. Not wanting for yesterday to repeat, I gave in.

''Okay!...I'll....'' I hung my head low in shame. ''-I'll tell you...'' I croaked as I struggled to hold the tears back. Thankfully, Felix let go of Cry, allowing his head to hang as he had little to no energy left. He then took a few steps towards me and kneeled slightly so we were eye level.

A sudden idea came to mind.

''Only if you promise something...'' I said lifting my head. Felix raised his eyebrow in question as he crossed his arms.

''And what will that promise be?'' He asked suspiciously.

''If I tell you where it is...you have to let Cry free...'' I ordered as I kept a serious glare on Felix. He then bit his bottom lip in deep thought as he stared at the floor.

''Fine'' He said with no emotion, bringing his gaze back to me.

''P-Promise?'' I stuttered with furrowed eyebrows.

''I never break a promise'' He replied sincerely, straightning his pose as he looked down upon me. I quietly sighed in hopes he was telling the truth.

''The...shore off the small island...south from Death Shore...'' I reluctantly said in defeate as I glanced at Cry with a sorry look on my face. We made eye contact for a few split seconds but all I read was pain.

Of course he'd hate me for this...it's either my childhood friend that I've known since forever or my people...it might sound selfish but at least my father would know how to protect him self along side all the merfolks. Now that Felix would release Cry, he could tell my father in advance and they'd be prepared. Hopefully.

A loud clap knocked me out of my thoughts as I quickly snapped my head up, only to see Felix wanted to get my attention by clapping his hands together.

''Well..I guess I don't need this one anymore...'' Felix said without a care as he waved off his hand towards Cry's direction. Ken then reluctantly dragged Cry towards the door I escaped from earlier. Cry stumbled on his feet as the man pushed him outside and before he could run, he turned to me with pure fear in his eyes. He then didn't hesitate to make his way to the shore the best he could. I lost sight of him as the door closed shut with a loud metalic thud.

Cry's P.O.V ~

As soon as my tail formed in the salty water I swam towards the kingdom with all my strength. I knew that the longer it takes me, the more chance that terrible human will torture Jack. After swimming through schools of fish and whirling past a pod of dolphins I managed to get to the castle as I slammed the large doors open. Ignoring the guards that were now chasing me I swam by every room untill I got to the Kings den.

I didn't bother to knock as this was an emergency and carelessly forced the door open with my body hitting the hard coral with great force. I whimpered in pain as I felt the bruises on my tial but ignored it when I saw Neptunes head angrily snap towards my direction.

''WHAT HAVE I TOLD-'' He stopped him self as he realised it was me. I bowed without hesitaion as my gills felt like they were burning from the sudden swimming.

''Cry..? What are you...where's Sean?! Have you seen h-'' I cut him off before he could say anymore.

''S-Sir! Jack's been taken by the humans! They're going to hurt him-like they tortured me!-a-and-'' I yelled in fustration as I failed to gather my words.

''Where?!'' He shouted in shock as he swam closer to my small, frail body.

''In the Emerald Castle..'' I said quietly, hoping he wouldn't ask why since it's against the law to go anywhere near that place.

''Then I must go get him! GUARDS!!'' He yelled stubbornly as the two guards who were chasing me emerged from behind the large doors.

''Sir!!'' They both said in unision as they bowed in respect before straightening their backs and raising their chins.

''N-No!!! You can't!!'' I yelled frantically as I waved my arms infront of the king. He furrowed his eyesbrows in displeasure but I spoke before he was able to.

''They're going to send an army!! They're going to attack!! Please...They'll hurt Jack...'' I whimpered as I neared my palms to my chest with my head hung low. Neptune seemed convinced as he waved off the two merrows, telling them to swim off.

''They...forced him to tell them?'' He said with an unusually quiet tone. He seemed overley sad all of a sudden.

''Y-Yes...'' I replied quietly as I galnced at his glossy eyes. Before I could process another thought he snapped his fingers.

''We need help...'' He said to himself as he rubbed his beared in thought.

''Help..?'' I questioned as I cocked my head to the side, my palms not moving from my chest.

Neptunes P.O.V ~

''Come!'' I ordered as I thought it best not to tell him, other wise he'd most probably be reluctant to the idea.

''B-But...'' He said with fear reading in his eyes.

''You know more about the humans than I do, you've been there so you would have some very important information'' I explained as I was already heading out towards the door. He hesitantly followed, knowing he had to go either way.

Timeskip ~

We finally arrived in the dim lit biome of nothing but recked ships that lay on the bottom of the great sea. I quietly ordered Cry to stay close behind me as for this wasn't a welcoming place, for merrows especially.

Suddenly a quick woosh was heard behind us, something- or someone had swiftly swam behind us. Cry gasped as he shook in panic, his head snapping to every direction as he tried to figure out the origin of the sound. I extended my arm protetively, as I tried to keep him close.

''Oh are you lost~?'' A raspy voice was heard from a large rock only meters away from us. I didn't fear it, for I was one of the strongest beings in the ocean, but Cry felt otherwise.

''I need to see your king'' I ordered with dominace in my voice, not showing the slightest bit of fear. A snicker echoed around us- he must have moved.

''King?!'' He laughed like a maniac before contiuing.

''I'd rather chew your FINS OFF!!'' He bellowed, finally emerging from a batch of kelp as he tried with all his speed to attack Cry. Cry screamed in the uttmost fear but I simply swam up and hit the monster across the face with my powerful tail. I sent him spinning into the rock he once hid behind. A loud screech echoed into our ears as he grolwed in pain.

His sharp fangs were showing as his eyes glowed in anger, his shark fins now visible as we both had a clear view of the rather young man.

His snarls immediately stopped as soon as he noticed me.

''Neptune?!'' He growled as he tried to cover his fear. ''What brings you here...'' He questions as he kept his distance from us, knowing very well that he was no match for me.

''Trust me, I wouldn't want to see the Shark King unless it was immensely important'' I reassuered him with a dominant posture.

Timeskip ~ The Kamohoalii Cave ~

Neptunes P.O.V ~

We followed the Sharkman as he lead us into the Kings lair, glancing at us from time to time as he was skeptical of my intentions.

The QuickFins, as we call them, have their worst enemy. That of course, is us Merrows. In ancient times we battled to the death, killing hundreds of thousands on each side. Finally, only a century ago, the Merrows finally won the battle and chased the QuickFins away into what they now call home. Now that there was peace in the oceans, didn't mean that we got along. Sometimes they're known for killing a few lone merrows when they tresspass as they are much stronger and faster. Although merrows have an advantage, we tend to be more acute and agile.

Theoretically speaking, it'd take around two merrows to behold the same strength of a QuickFin. Now you'd think, then why did we win the battle? Well they are more harder to breed and Sharkwomen are especially rare. Our number of soilders was much greater than theirs, and so we won the Great Battle.

''Your majesty'' The Sharkman suddenly bowed as we saw what seemed to be a large throne made out of the ship wreck that created this biome. There sat Kamohoalii, the Shark King. He opened his eyes as his head rest on his knuckle. A low growl was heard before his glare locked onto mine. He simply chuckled with a sarcastic grin.

''What...you've come to take our home too?'' He grumbled with his low raspy voice as he slowly swam off his throne, never taking his gaze off of me. He then cocked his head as he glanced at Cry who scurried further behind me.

''You seem to be a little short on men'' He said monotonously as he stared with a half-eyed pissed look. As if he was expecting me to come with an army.

''I'm not interested in any war...'' I spoke. Kamohoalii seemed the least bit suprised before giving a half hearted chuckle.

''I need your help-'' I wasn't able to say anymore as he began to roar in laughter, the four sharkguards seemed to fear this action.

''You need my help'' He said with a snicker- but soon his expression turned dead cold. ''After all you filthy merrows have done to us'' He glared at me with pure anger glowing in his dark eyes.

''The humans are going to attack'' I replied. This seemed to have caught his attention as he snapped his head towards me.

''Why should I care'' He snarled with a bitter tone. ''Those humans don't even know of our existance'' He finished as he turned his back.

''Look, my son has been captured by those-'' I carelessly mentioned as I was soon cut off by a loud growl coming from Kamohoalii.

''I DON'T CARE IF YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY DIES!! IT'S NONE OF MY CONCERN!'' He roared as this caused the cave walls to shake in fear, the sharkguards already terrified by his presence alone. I knew for a fact this was a sensitive subject for him, for his son was murdered by the humans a century ago. That's also one of the reasons why they lost the Great War, the king had given up as soon as he heard of his sons death.

I gave him some minutes to recover as his breath noticeably slowed down.

''If you don't help...they'll kill all of us merrows and their next target will be you'' He turned his head to the side as his back was facing us, we only being able to see half of his face.

''I don't have much of an army, other wise- I promise you, I'd get the revenge we deserve'' He growled as he pointed towards me.

''Trust me, you'll deal a great help'' I tried to reassure him as I swam the slightest bit closer. ''I understand you have a pure hate for those humans- but maybe this is a way of revenge'' I tried to convince him as he didn't take his gaze off the sandy ground.

''I'll accept, for an offer'' He said as he straightened his pose. I rose my eyebrow in question. ''You'll give us half of your supply of food'' He finished sternly.

''What?! We barely have enough for our selves!'' I argued in defence as he gave a snicker.

''Then forget about our help'' He growled in anger. I sighed in defeate as I knew this was the only way to get their assist.

''Fine'' I grumbled, giving a sharp glare. He glanced at me, slightly suprised.

''When do they attack'' He stated monotonously, raising his head to meet my gaze. I turned to Cry who was still shaking in terror as he dare not look at him.

''Cry, what did the humans say'' I asked as catiously as possible, trying to avoid him getting a panic attack.

''T-They didn't say w-when...b-but would probably be as soon as p-possible'' Cry stuttered in reply, with his arms wrapping around himself. ''Please...th-they're gonna hurt Jack..'' He croaked out as tears slipped down his cheeks, his head hung low. Kamohoalii sighed before speaking.

''We shall lead an ambush tomorrow morning'' He said before giving a hopeful glance at me. I nodded in reply. I felt I'd regret this in the future, but continued anyway.

''Come to my kingdom. We'll plan ahead there''

Before the chapter ends! I want to show a bit ofKamohoalii's past! As I found it very interesting :3 And no, I didn't make that name up, it's from this short Legened here.

The Legend Of Nanaue The Shark Man

Long ago on the Big Island of Hawaii, there lived a gorgeous young woman by the name of Kalei. Kalei lived in Waipio Valley. Each night Kalei would walk to the waters at the mouth of the valley to bathe in the sea.

One night, Kamohoalii, the king of all sharks in the region was swimming just below the surface of the waters where Kalei bathed. Under the shimmering moonlight, she disrobed and slipped into the warm waters as she did every night.

Kamohoalii saw Kalei and was entranced by her unique beauty. As shape-shifter he resolved that the next night he would take on his human form as a chief and search the land for the beautiful and mysterious woman.

He did as he planned. For the next few days he walked the land as a chief and ate and communed with the people of Waipio Valley in search of Kalei. In time, he found her. They fell in love and married.

Over time, Kalei became pregnant with Kamohoalii's child. Before the child was to be born, the shark king knew that his time had come to return to the sea. He never revealed his true identity to Kalei. Instead, he instructed Kalei to give birth alone and to watch over his child, who was to be a son, and to never allow the baby to eat the flesh of any animal. Reluctantly he left Kalei, whom he had come to love dearly and returned to the ocean. The lovers never saw each other again.

On a dark night, as the island winds whipped furiously through the valley, beautiful Kalei gave birth to the shark king's son. She was afraid and saddened when she saw that the baby was born with a deformity on his back – a large open hole that resembled a gaping fish mouth.

She wrapped the baby in a thin blanket of tapa cloth to hide the deformity from the others. That night she cried as she rocked her newborn son, for he was as beautiful as she, besides his disturbing deformity. She named him Nanaue.

As the child grew older, she kept him away from meat as the shark king had instructed her, but she could not protect him for long. Back in ancient times, men and women were not allowed to eat together.

When the child came of age, his grandfather took him to eat with the men. He was fed meat for the first time and developed a voracious and insatiable appetite. The gaping mouth on his back grew rows of sharp teeth.

After that day when Kalei took her son to bathe in the stream she watched in horror and fascination as he took the form of a young shark – he would swim and play in the water in fish form, chasing and eating the smaller creatures in the stream.

As the child grew into a man, Nanaue also grew as a shark. After he would swim in the ocean, people would go missing. A great shark would come out of the water and tear his fellow swimmers limb to limb.

The people of Waipio Valley became suspicious – why was Nanaue never harmed in the ocean? They began to suspect that he had special powers, but they did not know that it was he who was actually killing his friends while in shark form.

One day, the villagers discovered the great mouth on Nanaue's back. It all came together that he was the one that had been causing all of the deaths in their otherwise peaceful waters. The villagers were very angry and decided to capture and kill him. Nanaue then changed into shark form and escaped into the sea.

From Waipio Valley, Nanaue swam to the Hana side of the island of Maui. There he took the form of a man. He married a chiefess while on Maui and tried to hold back his desire for human flesh, but did not succeed. One night his hunger took a hold of him and he kidnapped a young girl, ran to the ocean, shape-shifted and devoured her in plain sight of all. The people of Maui were outraged. They tried to spear Nanaue from canoes, but he swam quickly toward Molokai.

Once again, after he had reached the island of Molokai, Nanaue tried to keep his true nature a secret, but as he grew older his hunger only got stronger. By this time, tales of a dangerous shark man were circulating through the islands.

The Molokai people kept a look out for this strange man shark. Finally, they saw Nanaue shape-shifting in the sea when he thought that no one was watching. They snared him while in shark form and beat him with clubs until the ocean was red with his blood. The people chanted continuously until Nanaue became weak.

His shark body was drug to shore where he was chopped to pieces and incinerated in a large oven. Thus died Nanaue, son of Kamohoalii – King of Sharks.

This is how I got the idea of having a Shark King! I simply added this to Kamohoalii's past so he and Neptune could somehow relate. They both had a loss. With Neptune being his wife and Kamohoalii being his son. I simply copied and pasted this small story from the internet so the credit goes to the respectfull owner :3 And hey! Guess what! Kamohoalii had a human lover just like Jack has, so this Legend fits perfectly with the book! Anywho!

Thank you so much for reading! And have a good one!
