2: Unexpected Encounter
AN: Okay here is the FULL chapter! :D Please Enjoy~
Jacks P.O.V ~
My gaze clings into his warm coca eyes, mesmerized by the sight infront of me. It's as if a magnet was inside of him and it was absorbing me into depths of love. Just as I was about to say something, I noticed a large angry wave smash onto the rock right ontop of him. When the wave cleared I let out a gasp of shock as he suddenly disappeared. I stared into the now, calm ocean, waiting for any sign of life or bubbles that escape to the surface. Nothing. I began to panick and allowed my instincts to kick in as I dove into the now, rather dark sea as the sun began to hide behind the horizon.
As soon as my tail slipped through the salty water I saw a distant object, falling further into the depths of the ocean. I swam full speed, knowing it was the man. As I got closer I realised that he was unconsious, or worse. Gently grabbing him by the waist I began to quickly swim to the surface of the ocean, as soon as my head surfaced the water, I'm able to bring the human up with me. He looked unusually pale as to his normal, more tanned skin tone.
I managed to get close to shore but my tail was preventing me from swimming any further towards the dry sand. So I did something I've never done before, I decided to crawl my way up to the warm dry sand with my tail dragging along. Merrows are not to do this because once we are on land, it's extremely hard to get back, therefore giving anyone a perfect chance to kill. I let out a grunt of exhaustion once my entire body, along with the man, was entirely on the pleasantly warm sand.
The gentle waves still managed to soak half of my tail, preventing me from forming any human legs. I gently set the mans limp body onto the sand, looking for any signs of life. He isn't breathing, I don't know what to do? I lightly tapped his forehead, expecting a grunt or groan, but nothing came out. So I began to shake him as my grip on his shoulders tightend, he eventually gave out a small groan in pain as he gripped his head. I noticed it was bleeding but my worries were cut short when he opened his eyes, those warm, hypnotyzing coca eyes.
He stared wide-eyed at me untill he gabbed my arm, I panicked and feared for the worst so I tried to wriggle out of his grasp and crawl back to the water that I regret coming out of. I grunt in pain as I begin to drag my delicate tail across the sharp shells that scattered around the sand. I didn't know what was going on behind me untill I felt a firm grip on my waist, I squealed for mercy as he tightened his grip so I couldn't escape.
''Wait!'' He yelled out. It sounded like an angel from the highest of heaven had spoken, this man had such a deep, soothing voice. I stopped dead in my tracks, not moving a muscle. Soon I realised that he trusted me enough to let his grip go. My body was screaming at me, ordering me to swim with all my strength, but my soul begged to differ. It was telling me to give this human a chance, his presence alone feels...different. I slowly turned my head to meet with those missed coca eyes, some of my wet green hair getting in the way of my view.
He stood there, staring at me with those warm eyes, an emotion of worry and hope glistening from them. After he was reassured that I wouldn't try to escape, he crouched down to my level, since I was practicly lying on the wet sand.
''Please..don't-don't go...'' He said in a deppressed manner, as if his soul was slowly being consumed by saddness and surrow. I widened my eyes in shock at just how quick he changed from panicked to calm. I tried to speak but my mouth simply hanged open, words struggling to form as they were replaced with awkward mutters.
''Are you able to speak in our language?'' He questioned with his well trained voice, every word was spoken clearly giving no trouble to understand what he was saying. I closed my mouth, reasing I must have looked rediculous and slowly nodded my head, never breaking eye contact. He nodded in thought before speaking once again.
''What's your name?'' He questioned. It felt like his voice only got smoother and deeper the more he spoke, it sent pleasant shivers through my tail. I then repeated the question in my head and realised what he actually had said. My name....What should I tell him?...My father decided on Sean but my mother disagreed and wanted Jack instead. Since my father is the 'king' he is to chose a suitable name for their child...but I like Jack...Mother had good taste.
''...Jack...'' I finally replied after a long silence. I let my head hang low, the memory of my mothers death flashing by. I struggled not to cry, but the mans soothing voice reassured me.
''That's a nice name...'' He said with a smile. ''I think it suits you'' He finished cocking his head to the side, while inspecting my tail once again. I looked at my tail and noticed how the orange sunset was reflecting off my pearly scales. I then remembered that I must be back in the den before sundown, but this moment is too precious.
''Thank..you..'' I finally replied after a long two minutes of silence. ''What's...your name?'' I questioned the young adult, he almost looked as if he was in his late teen years.
''My name is Mark Fischbach. Prince of the Emerald Castle'' (-AN: Yeah..I kinda made that up just now. lol) He said with high class, but his voice trailed off after his name, he had trouble mentioning he was a prince. I cocked my head in confusion.
''You seem...sad?'' I questioned. Turning my body around so I'd be facing him. He let out a troubled sigh, this only brought more worry into my mind.
''I hate it'' He replied with a cold voice, sitting down on the sand as he stared at the beautiful sunset. ''I have to marry a woman that I hate!'' He wailed his arms in the air. My head followed their motion, I still had the slightest bit of fear in me. He scoffed before continuing. ''-And I don't even like women!'' He soon registered what he had yelled out and hanged his head down in shame after making a second of eye contact.
I widened my eyes in shock, he couldn't be more perfect. He doesn't seem to have the intention to kill or capture me, he's absolutely perfect from every angle, and he's interested in men, just like me. A deep secret I've been hiding from everyone and everything, it is afterall considered a disgrace these days... After some awkward silence, he finally spoke.
''Do you ever wish...'' He whispered, ever so calmly. His gaze finally returning to my eyes. ''That you were...different?'' His question hit the nail. He couldn't be more on point with what he said, it's been a thought that has lurked my head ever since my mother died. I bit my lip in thought, thinking of how I should reply.
''Yeah...'' I said quietly, almost whispering the word. A smile appeared on his perfectly shaped face, his hypnotizing eyes glistening in the far sunset.
''To be honest with you...I've always wondered how it would be..if...I was...'' He sharpened his gaze on my tail. ''A merman...'' He said soothingly. I furrowed my eyebrows, confused why he'd want to live in fear from the hunters for his entire life, while scavenging for any food. His soft chuckle snapped me out of my thoughts. ''I'm quite afraid the waters...but I think if I were one of you...that fear would dissapear'' He sighed once he finished explaining. My gaze lowered to the small shells that lay in the sand.
''I had always wondered...what it'd be like if I were human...'' I finally confessed aloud. He squinted on confusion.
''Why us? We are the real monsters...'' I almost gasped at his reply.
''Well...not all humans are'' I tried to say reassuringly. He set his gaze on my eyes once more, giving a warm smile. I swear I had seen a faint red glow in his cheeks. ''Some...'' I dragged my self a few inches closer. ''Humans...'' I said slowly, almost hypnotizing the man infront of me, although that's not my intention. ''Are nice...'' I finally said, trying to give a low voice. I stared into his deep coca eyes, it felt as if we were communicating telepathicly. Telling one another to kiss, like it was ment to be.
Our foreheads were touching, our lips almost connecting, our hot breathes flowing on one another. I was just about to lean in for a dreamy kiss but the hooves of horses stopped me. I internally grunted as we both moved our faces away from eachother's.
Marks P.O.V ~
Our tender moment was cut short by the all too familiar sound of the guards horses marching accross the rocky path, near the beach. They were managing to get closer to us, which was a really bad sign since Jack is here. He widened his eyes in fear, knowing very well that these people wern't the nicest to merrows. I mentally cussed at my self before helping him back into the water, my boots protecting me from getting wet, as they were made from the finest black leather.
Before I could help him any further, he decided now was the best time to stop in his tracks. I furrowed my eyes in confusion but soon noticed he turned his head to face me.
''Meet me here tomorrow evening?'' He said with a quick pace in his words.
''Same place. Same time..'' I replied, nodding my head.
''Quickly!'' I whisper shouted to him, while helping his body drag into the water. Finally, he was able to dissapear into the dark blue water. I sighed in relief, whiping the water off my forehead with my sleeve, that managed to splash on from the ruckus. Before I could even process another thought, the guards managed to make their way here, the horses hoves becoming almost silent from the soft sand.
''Sir Mark, we have been informed to find and bring you back to the castle immediately. Your father wishes to have a disscussion'' One of the two guards said in a serious manner. I rolled my eyes before turning my gaze from the water to them, noticing they brought my white stallion, Calisson. (AN: Yes, That's a name ;-;) I simply ignored the two guards that sat on their brown mares and hopped onto Cali (AN: Nickname) I motoined my hand for them to move on, giving me a quick chance to take a last glance at sun before it finally fell behind the horizon.
Gently pulling the reins, the only thing that came to mind was Jack. His stunning physique, his beautiful green tail, his fascinating eyes...Everything about him is perfect. I smiled to my self, remembering his last question.
