Thirty-Nine. Unwanted Conflict 🔞
"Ah, you must be Mr Fitzpatrick," Judith announced as an unexpected figure appeared in the doorway to the kitchen where she stood.
"You can call me Sam. And you are?" Sam was startled to see a woman stood in his kitchen that was not his wife. "Where is Melissa?"
"My name is Judith, nice to meet you, Sam," Judith greeted as pleasantly as possible. "Mel is upstairs. I'm just making coffee, would you like one, Sam?"
"Sure that would be great, thank you, Judith." Sam left the room still puzzled with the stranger in his kitchen. Judith, where have I heard that name before?
"I'm going to find my wife!" He called out pleasantly to Judith before heading for the stairs.
Judith did not reply, instead she sat against the famous worktop that held a fond memory while the kettle continued to boil. Once the coffee was made she took the three mugs into the front room and sat patiently waiting for the married couple to return to her.
"What on earth?" Sam started as he entered the bedroom.
A startled Mel jumped to her feet, she was completely naked and looked as if she was bent over the bed, using her arms for support. As she stood her breasts fell in an odd fashion as if someone was stood behind her and let them go after supporting them.
"What is going on? What are you doing?" Sam questioned with a horrified look.
"Sam, you're home?" A terror-stricken Mel replied. "I... I wasn't expecting you back this early."
"You have a guest downstairs. What are you playing at?"
Mel pulled on her dressing gown and approached her husband, "I'm sorry, love. I did not mean for this..."
"For what?" Sam interrupted, "What exactly am I witnessing?"
Mel gulped, "The ghost wa-"
"The ghost again, really?"
"Sam, I'm sorry," Mel started to sob.
Sam turned to face the door. "I've had enough of hearing about this bloody ghost!"
As Sam was heading out of the room Julie was stood in the corner secretly smiling; she felt bad for Mel but was pleased with her efforts to fuck with Sam's mind again.
Julie had spotted Sam's car driving up the road and had immediately seduced Mel into removing her clothes and pushed her forward onto the bed so she was bent over with her arse in the air. Her fingers made quick work with Mel's damp pussy to distract her until Sam came through the door.
Mel sat on the edge of the bed and held her head in her hands from shame and embarrassment. She felt Julie put an arm around her but she immediately pulled away. She was crying and she wanted to be left alone.
Julie could see this and she left the room. She heard raised voices down the stairs and her mind raced in fear for Judith, her Judith. Julie entered the front room to the sound of Sam ranting about her.
"She's fucking a ghost! How bloody stupid does she think I am? You would not believe what I caught her doing upstairs! For fuck sake, I mean really, a fucking ghost!"
Julie could see the frightened expression on Judith's face and it pained her. "Calm down, Sam. There's an acceptable explanation here," Judith responded.
"Is there, Ainbridge? Yes I remember your name now. I guess you've come back to get another erotic thrill from the spirit. Or are you here to capitalise on my wife's gullible nature?"
"Sam, you're being unreasonable. I'm not here for thrills or money."
"Whatever," Sam snarled. "My wife needs professional help. If there is a ghost, either I'm delusional or Mel is cheating on me."
"With a spirit?" Judith questioned, although she felt that may have been antagonising.
Before Sam could answer the light above him began to flicker; the curtains began to flap and the coffee mugs on the table were shifting in circles on the table.
"What's happening? What's going on?" A panicked Sam questioned. Judith stayed quiet, she was unsure of what Julie's intentions were.
Moments later a glass was thrown, Sam managed to dive out of the way just in time. The glass struck the wall near Judith.
"Christ, Julie! What are you doing?" Judith reacted with a shrill.
"Julie?" Sam asked with a furrowed brow. "The spirit?"
"She's angry. We better go, Sam," Judith tugged on his shoulder.
"Go where? This is my home!" Sam replied angrily.
"I know somewhere, move!" Sam left first and Judith turned to face the inside of the house one more time, "I don't know what your game is, Jersey but this is shameful."
Sam followed Judith out of the house and they both climbed into the latter's car before driving away.

After hearing the loud commotion Melissa ran down the stairs as the door slammed shut. She looked out of the main front room window to see Judith and Sam driving away before acknowledging Julie in the room.
The spirit was sat on the sofa with her head burrowed into her palms. "I'm sorry," she whispered to Mel before evaporating.
"Julie, wait!" Mel called after her.
Julie reappeared but she did not look at Mel. Her head was still pressed into her hands.
Mel took a seat beside the spirit. "This is all my fault. My actions have upset you and they have pushed Sam away. I'm the one who is sorry."
Julie turned her head slightly to look at Mel. The spirit was upset for nearly hurting Judith when she wanted nothing more than for Sam to leave the house, but somehow she felt pity for the woman sat next to her. She felt the urge to comfort Mel, too sleep with her and make her feel good, but her mind was torn. Mel had been good to her but she desired Judith; she wanted Judith, but she had messed that up too by trying to scare Sam.
"I can fix this. For everyone," Mel continued. Although by everyone, Julie knew she meant herself. Julie disappeared again and retreated upstairs to the bedroom given to Judith. She looked out of the window hoping to catch the site of Judith's little car coming back towards the house.
