Tsukiko

It's been a month and a lot has happened. Sasori and Deidara have been helping in the academy while I've been helping around the orphanage. However, today seems different.

"Okay try it again." I said to the kids in the academy. They threw their weapons at the trees trying to hit the red targets. Some got them after a few tries but Mira got it just in one.

"Good job Mira. Keep it up and you'll become just like your brother." I said as I fist bumped her. She smiled brightly before going to retrieve her weapons. I stood there looking around at the other kids. Some were trying to help each while others talked amongst themselves.

"How are things here." I heard someone say. I turned around and saw Gaara standing there with a rose in his hand.

"Good so far. Some of these kids are stronger than they look. How are things with the counsel?" I asked as we watched over the kids. He handed me the rose and I gladly took it.

"Tiring." He replied with a sigh. I frowned slightly and went to sit down on a bench. Gaara followed and sat down next to me. I made him lay his head on my lap as I ran my fingers through his soft red hair.

"It's okay Gaara. Just take your time. I know the Chunin exams are coming up but you have to relax. Okay?" I said as I looked down at him. His sea foam green eyes stared into my midnight black ones. His right hand reached for my cheek as I leaned in closer.

"You're beautiful Tsukiko." Gaara said as he rubbed his thumb on my cheek. I shivered at the contact but don't move away. I haven't realized how close we were until I felt his breath of me. Our eyes started to slowly shut as we were about to kiss until...

"Princess come quick!!!" Mira shouted. Quickly I looked up and noticed red smoke coming from the east board of the village. Gaara and I were quickly on our feet and ran as fast as we could.

Once we got there we found two shadowy figures. As we walked towards them they disappeared. I tried to locate them but can't find them. I looked over at Gaara and he nodded.

"I want everyone on guard. No one is allowed in or out without my permission. Understood?" Gaara said loud and clear for all the shinobi behind us to hear. They all nodded and quickly went to spread the word.

"We should head back." Gaara said as he walked away. I turned around to follow but the intense pain on my neck stopped me. I touched my neck and felt a subon. My eyes widen as I realized it was poisoned.

"G-g-gaara!!!" I shouted as I fell to my knees. I put my left arm down so I don't lose balance and try to stand up again but couldn't.

"Tsukiko!! Are you alright!!? Tsukiko!!!" Gaara shouted as my vision became blurry. I tried not to faint but the pain was so unbearable. My body felt like it was on fire.

"Move!! Let me through!!!" I heard Sasori shout. I felt someone pick me up bridestyle and start to fly. I looked up and noticed that Gaara was carrying me.

Gaara

I ran as fast as I could towards the hospital. Tsukiko was shivering and her skin was turning pale. I knew I had to take her to Sasori but I still can't trust him. Not fully that is.

"Gaara!!" I heard someone shout. I looked over to my left and saw Sasori and Deidara. "Gaara!!Hand her other to me!! I can get the poison out of her in seconds!!!" Sasori shouted as the wind picked up.

"Not a chance!!" I shouted back as I used my sand to fly me over to the hospital.

"Gaara stop!!!" I heard my brother shout but continuedto make my way to the hospital until a giant clay bird stopped me from advancing.

"What do-" Before I could finish chakra strings held me down. I let go of Tsukiko but Sasori quickly grabbed her. "Let her go!!!" I shouted at him.

"Not a chance!!" He shouted back at me. People watched as everything was being played out. Sasori looked at Kankuro who had me tied down and walked away.

"Where are you taking her!!" I shouted at him but he disappeared in a swirl of dust. I struggledto free myself but Kankuro and Deidara stood around me as the held me down.

"Calm down Gaara, hn!" Deidara warned.

"Calm down? Calm down!? How can I calm down when the person I love has been poisoned!!!?" I shouted at him. He frown and placed his hand on my shoulder.

"Because she would hate to see you like this." My eyes widen as I looked at him. I looked around and notice people were staring at me in fear as if I would lose control again.

"*sigh* Listen Gaara, Tsukiko might be the person who you care about but to us she more." I looked up and him again and noticed tears in his eyes. "To us she's family. She the little sister, daughter, niece, and friend that we never had. She makes everyone back at HQ feel human. She makes us feel needed in this world. She our special light that guides us. She's something worth fighting for." Deidara said as he smiled as he remembered somethings. I looked down ashamed of what I did and sighed.

"I'm stupid." I said with a chuckle. I felt them let go of me and I quickly stood up straight. "I should go back to my office. Kankuro, inform Sasori to take her to your room after he's done." And with that I left.

Tsukiko

"S-sasori?" I said as I was trying to catch my breath.

"Hold on a little bit more Tsukiko." Sasori said as he put some hair out of my face. Sasori kissed my forehead as I clenched to the sheets. The pain was so unbearable that my toes curled up. My back arched as I let out another grunt from the pain.

"Hold on Tsukiko. I'm almost done." Sasori said as sucked my neck. I moaned as I felt a small shiver go down my spine.

"H-hurry!" I said as I tried to stay conscious.

"I'm almost done. I just have to suck some of the poison out. Plus my body won't be affected by it so stay still." He replied. I tried my best to stay still but the pain was too much.

"S-Sasori!!" I shouted as I let a brust of chakra out. He quickly placed his hand my neck and used his chakra strings to stay put. He quickly wrapped a bandage around my neck.

"I'm done Tsukiko. The poison is out. I just need to take you to Kankuro's room." Sasori said as he picked me up gently. I look at him before closing my eyes and falling asleep.

~Time Skip~

I was woken up by a noise that sounded like an explosion. I sat up in the bed and ran my hand through my hair. I looked around and remembered I was in Kankuro's room. I swung my feet over to bed and stood up slowly. I felt a little dizzy but it was tolerable. I walked barefoot through the hallways until I reached roof. I looked up at the sky filled with stars and smiled.

I looked down at everyone in the village and thought about the old days when I would play with Gaara. All I could think about was Gaara. Everything I looked at reminded me of Gaara. Even the weird looking bird in the sky. Wait, what?

I looked at the bird closely and noticed something on it's back. I activated the rings around my eyes and was able to see a woman on the bird. I quickly deactivated the rings then used the sand from the village to float up to her.

"1,2,3... there are three sky guards... hum. However, this Village's artistic design isn't too shabby. It's definitely worth ruining. Hum." I heard the woman say making her bombs and dropping them on the guards. I wanted to destroy them before they hit the ground but I was too late. I saw as they blew up the guards and their screams echo in my ears. I shook it off and quickly made my hand signs. I disappeared in a swirl of sand then reappeared at the top of the Kazekage building.

"Hey!!!" I shouted grabbing the woman's attention. She landed in front of me then smiled at me.

"Well, well, what do we have here?" She said walking towards me was about to touch me then she looked behind me. I looked behind me and saw the one and only redhead with sea foam green eyes.

"Gaara." I breathe.

Before I could do anything sand quickly attacked me and the woman. We quickly jumped out of the way before his sand could cover us. I quickly ran my chakra through the bottom of my feet and was able to float in the air. I looked at the woman and ran towards her but Gaara followed right behind me. I quickly made hand signs and sand quickly met with my feet. I stopped the flow of chakra to my feet and used the sand to catch up with the lady.

"Interesting. I was sure my poison would have killed you. You're stronger than you look princess. Now how did you know I was here?" The woman said looking at me then at Gaara.

"In this desert no bird like that exists." Gaara said looking at the woman.

"No shit Sherlock." I said making Gaara look at me. I looked back at the woman and glared.

"Heh... seems like my sneaking in was a failure... hum. Thanks to that I don't need to search for you." The woman continued. I wrote on the sand and send it down to find Deidara and Sasori.

"You're not taking neither of us! You bastard!" I shouted at her. I lifted my hands and sand from the village started to rise. Gaara did the same and we made a huge wall of sand.

"Gaara! Stay out of this!" I shouted at him but he ignored me. I quickly conected my mind with Gaara's and got into his head.

She used an unusual exploding thing... What do we do? Gaara thought.

I know survive. I said to him. Gaara gave me a harsh stare before blocking me out.

Why is he being so stubborn?! I thought to myself.

I decided to float a little higher to watch as Gaara and woman fought. I activated my Sharingan and looked for an opening. I kept waking and getting impatient that I couldn't stop shaking as if I wanted something. Something like, power.

I couldn't wait anymore. I deactivated my Sharingan and charged in without thinking. I watched as the woma made more explosives similar to deidara and aimed them at Gaara. I quickly stood in front of Gaara and waited for the explosives to hit me but I was pulled back by Gaara. He quickly created his sphere and protected us from the explosion. He covered one eye and used the thrid eye.

"Gaara what are you-" I was quickly cut off by him hugging me tightly. I was confused but for some reason I felt relived.

"Don't ever do that again." He whispered. He pulled away from me then gently kissed my head. He made an opening in the sphere and I watched as the sand tried to cage up the woman but she quickly moved out of the way. However, the small amount that Gaara removed from the sphere had wrapped around her left arm. Once the sand had completely covered the woman's arm Gaara closed his fist and crushed the arm.

"Kill him." I heard a voice in my head say. I immediately covered my ears and dropped to my knees. This has happened before with all the tails before I lost control of them, but then there's a new one and it keeps bugging me to kill whenever there is blood.

"Kimimaru! Are you alr-"

"I'm fine! This happens all the time just focus on her!" I shouted as the pain in my head became unbearable.

"But-"

"Gaara! You're the Kazekage now! Worry about your village! Argh! AHH!!!" I saw Gaara flinch at the sound of my screams. He wanted to help but he needed to save the village. He needed to save himself.

Gaara

I looked at Tsukiko then at the lady in front of me. She looked similar to deidara but her hair was lose and her eyes were a misty blue color. She looked at her arm then at me.

"You're gonna regret that Gaara." She said as she smirked at me.

"Who are you?" I asked as I watched her every move.

"The name is Fugi. I'm Deidara's clone. I was created so bring you and the princess back to the Akatsuki, the real Akatsuki." Fugi said as she laughed at me. I clenched my fists and growled at her.

"Gaara! The village!!!" Tsukiko shouted as she tried to stand from the ground.

I looked at the 'Akatsuki' and noticed that she dropped another bomb but in was bigger and it was going to destroy the village. I quickly used some of the sand to create a shield to protect the village. I looked at Tsukiko as she was using her aura to absorb the explosion and it worked. Once the bomb hit my sand Tsukiko quickly absorbed the explosion. She breathed heavily but still looked calm. She looked at me then looked back at the 'Akatsuki'.

"Gaara let me out and don't ask questions." Tsukiko said running a hand through her soft black hair. I shook my head then let her out. She floated in midair and quickly ran towards the Akatsuki. She threw kunai after kunai and shuriken after shuriken trying to bring the Akatsuki down but Fugi was faster than her. Tsukiko looked at the Akatsuki then made quick hand signs.

"Lightning Style! Ninja Art! Lightning Sparks Jutsu!" Tsukiko shouted. She opened the palms of her hands and lightning quickly started to appear. She aimed at the Akatsuki and the lightning circled around her arms, down her fingertips then sparked out hitting the Akatsuki member.

"Well, well, looks like I have a small problem on my hands but your too late. Hum" The Akatsuki member said looking at Tsukiko then at me. I was confused at first but then from the corner of my eyes and saw one of his explosives. I was surprised but my sand quickly covered the whole that I was watching through. I was relieved but then I sense Fugi's chakra in my sand.

Shit!

Before I could react the bomb exploded and I felt my body go numb. I looked down at the village then at Tsukiko. She was shouting at me but I couldn't hear her. I quickly used the last of my strength to move the sand from above the village before it collapsed on top of the village. I looked over at Tsukiko and noticed her hair turning white. Then I noticed she was helping me move the sand out of the village. Once all the sand was out of the village we let it drop. I quickly used my sand and send a message to my brother before I collapsed. The last thing I saw was Tsukiko getting knocked out by the Akatsuki and landing next to Kankuro.

Tsukiko

I watched as Fugi's bomb exploded inside of Gaara's ultimate defense. I quickly looked back at Fugi and ran up to her slapping her in the face.

"Why-"

"You asshole!!" I shouted at her. She looked at me then grabbed my arm.

"Tsukiko? What are you doing here? Hum." Fugi asked with a sickening smile on her face. I pulled away from her and jumped back a few feet. I looked at Gaara as he tried to get all the sand out of the village.

"Gaara! Don't! I'll do it myself!" I shouted helping him move the sand but it looked like he couldn't hear me anymore. I shook my head as I felt a tear fall down my face. Once all the sand was out of the village I ran towards Gaara but was stopped by Fugi.

"Get out of my way!!! I have to get to him!!!" I shouted punching her in the face and jumping over her. I ran as fast as I could but I was hit by Fugi and fell down to the village. I looked over at Gaara as he fell too but was caught by Fugi.

Fugi looked at me and said "If you want the boy I suggest you come and get him. That is if you're brave enough to go back to us?" before leaving with Gaara. I felt something catch me before hitting the ground and noticed it was sand. I looked to the sides and saw Kankuro and Deidara running after Fugi.

"Kankuro! D-don't do... it!" I said as I tried to get up from the sand.

"Tsukiko! Are you alright?!" Kankuro shouted as he helped me up. I about to answer when the sand started to form word.

"A message from the Kazekage!" One of the ninjas that was with us said.

"'Get Tsukiko to the hospital as soon as possible. Make sure she doesn't have any serious injuries. Gaara.' Kuroko! Mira! Take her somewhere safe." Kankuro shouted after reading what Gaara left behind. He looked at me then smiled before running off.

"Princess! Are you alright?!" Mira shouted. I looked at her then slowly started to fall over but someone quickly grabbed me by waist. I looked up and saw Kuroko.

"Get the princess to the hospital and checked quickly! The rest of you go assist Lord Kankuro get Lord Kazekage back!!! Hurry!!!" Kuroko shouted. Everyone nodded and took me away from him.

"Kuroko.... I-"

"Why did you fight along with him?! And why is your hair white?!" Sasori shouted cutting me off. I stared at him then slowly lowered my head.

"I-I was f-fighting..." I said softly.

"Fighting for what princess?!" Kuroko shouted.

"I was fighting for what mattered!" I shouted looking at them. I felt my body go numb and dropped to my knees. Kuroko quickly grabbed me then handed me over to Sasori.

"Go, hurry." Kuroko said to him before walking away from us. Sasori motivationed Mira to follow and she nodded. They ran towards the hospital with me on his back. I laid my head on his shoulder then closed my eyes slowly.

There are things in life that are worth fighting for.
