Dropped
Shira
It's been forty years since I agree to protect Tsukiko. I was only sixteen years old but now I had something else to worry about.
The battle between Madara Uchiha and Hashirama Senju was coming and I needed to protect Tsukiko and myself. I thought that the fighting between the two clans had stopped but Madara wouldn't stop living in the past.
I heard of the Sand Village and I was going there to hide with Tsukiko. It's been at least five years since I ran away from the Village Hidden in the Leaves. I was run through the forest and I had Tsukiko in my arms. I was running so fast that I wasn't looking where I was stepping when I slipped and Tsukiko fell out of my arms.
"Tsukiko!" I yelled as I watched her fall into the river.
I was about to jumped in after her when I saw and girl jumped in. She swam as fast as she could towards Tsukiko until she reached her. I let out a sigh of relief once the girl came out of the river with Tsukiko in her arms.
"Thank you so much for saving her." I said running up to the girl.
"Not a problem. I'm Nomei Hyuga. What's your name?" She said handing me Tsukiko.
"I'm Shira Uchiha." I said and she took a step back.
"No don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you. You see, I was running away from my village because of all the meaningless fighting that is going on." I explained myself and she nodded.
"Good! Come on I'll take you to my little village." She said pulling my arm.
"So Shira why did you drop the baby?" Nomei said trying to clear the path for me to pass.
"I didn't drop her because I wanted. She slipped out of my hands. Plus, I promised someone that I'd protect her." I said putting a strand of my hair behind my ear.
"Well, we're here. Stay here, I'll explain to the people about what's going on." She said a small town.
I looked down at Tsukiko and noticed a few scratches on the sphere. I couldn't believe that I dropped Tsukiko. At least Nomei helped me get her back but what if Nomei wasn't there to help me? Then what would I've done?
"Shira! They said that you could stay as long as you want. They'll help you out with the baby too." Nomei said running up to me.
"Great, I need to rest. I've been running for a long time." I said walking out of the trees.
I noticed the confusion in some of the townspeople when they saw Tsukiko. But I didn't mind as long as we had a place to stay.
"Shira this way. You can stay with us if you want." Nomei said entering a little but well built building.
"This is the orphanage of the this village." Nomei said as I entered.
"You're an orphan?" I asked and she nodded.
"Yup! I was dropped off here after my town was destroyed. Every kid here was dropped off when the first war came. I was dropped off here once the second war started." I nodded then started to walk around the building.
"How any rooms does this place have?" I asked looking around.
"Twenty rooms, you can take the one next to mine. In case you need something you can just ask me." Nomei said showing me to my room.
"Thanks Nomei and I will." I said to her as she closed the door behind her. I stared down at Tsukiko and smiled.
"We'll be safe here Tsukiko. I won't let anyone hurt you." I said to her.
"Hey Shira I can ask you something?" Nomei asked as she's walked back into the room.
"You just did." I said laughing a little.
"Oh you know what I mean." I laughed then nodded. "Who is she and why is she in the ball?"
"Her name is Tsukiko and for the sphere. It protects her. It acts as a barrier around her so nothing can hurt her but people have tried over the years. It also keeps her from growing." I explained. I watched as Tsukiko moved around as if trying to get comfortable.
"How does she eat?"
"She doesn't. I just give her some chakra and she takes it. I guess that's how she eats." Nomei nodded then smiled at Tsukiko.
"She's really cute."
"Yeah, believe it."
