A Spark: Part 5
Lukas was tired. He was so freaking tired.
The blonde sighed and rubbed his forehead with one of his hands, while holding three pieces of paper in the other.
He sat on two blocks of wood next to a fire, warming himself up. He was cold and tired and hungry. He was almost out of food and was a mess. There were lines under his eyes and his hair was disheveled.
Lukas looked at the pieces of paper in his hands. Two were notes, and the third was a picture of himself, and a certain dark haired and green eyed female. He smiled sadly.
He missed her so much. So much that it felt like his heart was going to break and shatter into a million pieces. But he held on. He had to. For Jesse.
Lukas looked at the other two notes, both in messy handwriting.
The first one was a bit longer than the second, and said: Thanks for your journal Lukas, it will be useful to help me regain control.
The second note was shorter, and said: The spark will start the fire.
He remembered finding the notes in an envelope mailed to him anonymously, creating panic and fear.
Seeing the notes, he knew that it had something to do with PAMA and his journal. He had to stop whatever was coming before it was too late.
That night, he snuck into the treasure room, stealing the Atlas and replacing it with a replica, then packing items for the trip. He had to go back to the portal hallway, in order to find the source of the note.
He remembered Jesse, asleep on the bed, tears in his eyes, as he placed the note on his side of the bed, and giving her a kiss on the cheek.
He regretted that decision the most, leaving them, leaving her.
But he knew that his journal was they key, the key for something much more destructive. He had to stop it, or at least try.
She had to understand right? She had to understand. This was his mess, and he had to fix it, not pull her into it. He had to keep her safe. Even if it meant risking the chance to ever see her again.
