A Spark: Part 28 [Ending]
*A few days later*
The sun was setting, and it gave a warm glow across the town. Oranges, pinks, and yellows blended into a beautiful painting.
Music could be heard, and the laughter and voices of the citizens of Beacontown rang through the clearing. Evidently, a celebration was needed after the defeat of PAMA, and that day-becoming night was perfect to do it.
"After all this, I almost don't want to have anything to do with redstone." Olivia said bluntly, amused as she shook the cup of punch in her hands lightly. Axel looked at her hopefully.
"Really?"
"I said 'almost,'"
Axel, Olivia, and Petra were sitting at a table, laughing with each other and enjoying the celebration. Everything seemed happy, and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, being grateful for their lives.
"Oh, hey look! There they are," Petra smiled, and then gestured to the couple walking this way.
Jesse had bandages on her arms, head, and a splint on one of her legs. She was wearing black shorts and red shirt, and Lukas was helping her walk so she didn't have to limp.
She smiled at them and waved. He pulled out a chair and helped her sit down, and then sat down on a chair next to her.
"Glad you guys could make it, you feeling alright Jesse?" Petra asked, giving her a warm smile. The other girl nodded.
"Better than I have in a while."
Lukas held Jesse's hand under the table, squeezing it reassuringly.
"Hey, Jesse." Someone exclaimed, and she turned to see Aiden with a box in his hand.
"Hey Aiden, how're you doing?" She asked kindly. He held out the box to give it to her.
"Good, and I hope you are too." He replied, as she took the box.
"What is this?"
"I promised, didn't I?" Aiden questioned, a small smirk on his face. She opened the box to reveal half a dozen donuts inside. Her face lit up as she looked at it, still in surprise. There was glaze, frosted, frosted with sprinkles, and more. She laughed at this.
"Oh Aiden," she exclaimed, giggling. "Thank you."
He nodded and gave her a quick hug before disappearing back into the crowd. She could feel the heat rush to her cheeks as she turned back to her friends.
"You're going to share that with us, right?" Axel asked, somewhat pleadingly. Jesse looked at her friends for a moment before hugging the box.
"You wish." She said teasingly, eyes sparkling with mischief.
"But there's half a dozen! That's like, one for each of us!" Axel exclaimed.
Jesse laughed and took a glazed donut with sprinkled from the box and then pushed it to the middle of the table.
"I was kidding, go on ahead."
Everyone laughed, smiled, and grabbed a donut, taking bites and spilling crumbs everywhere.
"This is totally off topic, but-" Petra said, a piece of donut still in her mouth. "-does anyone know where Ivor is?"
"Yeah, I saw him dancing the Macarena with Harper." Lukas replied, grinning a bit slyly. Jesse gaped at him, before bursting out laughing.
"Ivor-dancing-?" She exclaimed in between laughs. "-the Macarena-with Harper?"
"Yep." He said, and Jesse continued to laugh, the others joining in. Suddenly, one of the bandages on her head got loose and fell downwards, right on her eyes.
"Oh, darn it." She cursed a bit before going to fix her bandage. But before she could she felt a hand stopping her.
"I'll do it." Lukas said, and she hesitated before allowing him to fix it. A few seconds passed and she felt nothing, and still couldn't see.
"Lukas, I thought you were going to fix-" she stopped as his lips met hers. She gasped against his lips before kissing him back. Then he pulled away and fixed her bandage. She could see him grinning at her.
"Smooth, blonde guy." Jesse said, rolling her eyes and playfully hitting him on the shoulder.
"You know, if we wanted a romance movie we would've stayed home and watched one." Axel said, right before Olivia elbowed him hard.
"Oh come on, I think it's cute." She replied, as he rubbed his arm in pain.
Right then, there was a bright flash. Jesse blinked to get her vision back to normal, and then saw Petra holding a camera. She was grinning widely as the film came out.
"What the-" started Lukas, confused. The redhead took out the finished film and showed it to them.
"This is going on the fridge." She smirked, waving the picture. Jesse rolled her eyes playfully.
"Come on," she said, getting up from her chair. Lukas immediately stood up to help her.
"Hey, what are you doing?"
"Standing up." She replied, and then gestured for the others to do the same. They shrugged but did as she wanted anyway.
"Give me the camera," Jesse said to Petra, and she hesitated.
"Are you gonna break it for taking a picture of you? Cause this cost me three diamonds-"
"I'm not going to break it, Petra. Just give me the camera."
The redhead handed over the camera and she gestured for everyone to get together.
Axel, Olivia, Petra, Lukas, and Jesse stood, smiling side by side as she held the camera in selfie mode to take a picture.
"You know, I'm really glad we're all together again." Jesse exclaimed.
FLASH went the camera. Everyone wrapped their arms around each other.
"Us too, Jesse. Us, too."
